IDK why people keep saying the maps are too big!? They’re actually WAY too small! Having maps so small only encourages the blob/zerg mentality since the entire ‘group’ can get to any destination rather quickly.
I think they need to make ALL maps BIGGER! Our WvW “world” should be about 2 or 3 times as much “real estate” as it currently is!
Also, I really wish people would stop talking about “scrap DBL PLZ” and how “terrible they are”, that is VERY insulting to ANET. Think about all the time and effort that went into them and their design! Instead, if there are specific things you don’t like about them, why not ask for specific “tweaks” instead of slapping ANET in the face like that!?
I for one LIKE the new maps! I wont argue there may be some things that could be “tweaked” here and there, but there’s NO reason to stoop to the level of insulting anet and slapping them in the face telling them how “crappy” they are and to “just scrap them”! HOW RUDE
.
(Lucky I don’t work for ANET or I’d perma ban all your rude kittens!)
I want to ask a few things really quick.
First, not everything needs to be in quotes. I hate it when people overuse quotes, and your post is a classic example of that. Now, moving onto my main point…
Why is it rude to tell ANet something they made is bad? Lets look at it this way – I spend a long time writing a book. Its not a very good book, but its still a book I spent a long time on. Should people have to like my book and tell me its great, or can they be honest about how they feel about it? The truth is, the Desert Borderlands are objectively bad – its clear over 60-70% of the WvW community simply don’t like them at all. Its nothing against ANet, its just that people don’t like the maps. Sometimes that happens – you think bad movies you laugh about with friends (I’m looking at you Phantom Menace) didn’t take longer to make than the new Desert Borderlands?
At the end of the day, you can’t really just tweak a few things about Desert Borderlands. The thing is, people loved WvW for huge zerg fights. Was it fun getting wrecked as a roamer by a zerg? Of course not. But if you want small group based fights, PvP and other MMOs honestly do it better than WvW does. The beauty and uniqueness behind WvW is that so many people can fight each other at once. Its a cluster, yeah, but its so much fun and amazing.
Finally, I wanted to add I feel bigger maps discourage roaming, but thats just me. Bigger maps encourage people to sit in towers and keeps because they have no idea when the other servers are going to attack, and if they roam they can’t return in time to defend. Smaller maps are not only better suited to large group fights, but lets roamers rotate around the map undetected and ninja towers, costing resources and time for the other servers.
Xushin from Mag is honestly the best commander I have ever seen in Guild Wars when it comes to turning a pug into a semi-workable force. Every reset he’s there running drills and giving orders, trying to get the ball rolling.
#Xushin4KingOfMag
The one you are describing has been around for over a year, and been reported with links to support.
The one that allows them to appear as an unknown player is something different.
I think the real issue is that it has been reported WITH proof to ANet, which shows ANet must know they exist, yet ANet turns a blind eye to hacks and does next to nothing to stop them.
Thats the main issue imho
What hacks are these guys using any how?
I’ve tried to find the one which hides their names from the combat log, but all you find online are the ones from last year, teleport speed hacks.
But then even when we link the hack to anet support nothing has changed.
Hacks that basically let them go under the ground and attack the gate from a position they cannot be damaged is something I have heard and seen a bit. Also there was just a thread in the General Discussion about a hacker who was flying above keeps and towers in front of dozens of people with proof. If its not deleted by now, you should check it out
I really had to laugh when i saw this item thinking: “whos going to support who”
So if they sell enough of these, we going to get a new map or dealing with the bugs/exploits/hacks going on since launch?
You seem like a smart person, so I think you know the answer to your question :/
I’ve actually thought of a few ways around this via algorithms. Most hackers act in a very similar way. If ANet could write an algorithm that checked to see which players had those patterns and investigated them, it could lead to a wave of hacker bans that would clean up WvW for quite a while I feel.
would be great, but not exactly.
People tend to like to explore and check various things in game.
Any bug or rubberband caused by latency or something else, could always trigger that algorithm(have seen such cases), and that wouldn’t point out that player was actually using any 3rd party program to enchance it’s abilities. That would also could shoot anyone after each patch, as they could break something or cause a bug with certain skills or anything else. Therefore that would lead to algorithm triggering and poof, banned.
This would lead to massive complain and flood of support ticket system regarding wrongly distributed bans. That adds a lot of work, each one has to be checked throughly, since leaving it as it is, means losing customer.
So far the best solution was to always record such people and send them with timestamps to support where support can check it also in server logs.
Have to also remember that every protection or w/e else can always backfire at normal users and cheaters can always a find a way to bypass it.
So, I myself haven’t met anyone cheating so far.
That may only show that cheating issue is minor at the moment and should be boycotted by community by reporting such players immediately.
What you said makes a lot of sense, but I feel like I didn’t make my idea very clear. The idea isn’t for the algorithm to trigger the ban. More like add them to a watch list. Kind of like the “No-Fly” list the American TSA has, but in this case the user wouldn’t even know he was on it or be affected. What it would do, however, is send reports on this user straight to the stop because their actions are the same as many hackers. It would just make finding hackers easier imo.
Thanks for bringing this up again. I’m sure the other few remaining people didnt feel bad enough looking at that scoreline whenever we log in. Thanks for posting it on the forums and bragging about beating one T2 server and one dead server so badly.
Stay classy JQ, stay classy
Hackers = cheaters in games.
First of all you should screenshot/record a video with the one who’s cheating.
Would be great to also provide time + time zone + place to let them nail it more precisely. And send it to support, not post on forums.
And one more thing since people say anet don’t do anything etc.
Fighting people who create such tools is very hard and time consuming.
It’s easier and faster to catch someone using it and ban him than actually fix the issue – because not everything server side is that great.
Applying protections like GameGuard or HackShield is simply useless, since they’re easy to bypass.
As an example, same is with antivirus software.
To make antivirus work, it needs to have a data about specified virus. To have that data, such virus must be created.
People who create such software are always 1 step ahead of the ones who create shields against them.
It’s no rocket science.

EotM was added as a WvW map as requested by the WvW players. Not counting that because you no longer feel that it does what it was suppose to do does not mean it didn’t get added.
People are complaining about stuff being added since release, and yet now things added since release doesn’t count because it was either a long time ago, or you personally don’t like it?
Yes the progression system is the WXP-system, which was, once again, something requested by the WvW-players.
Last time I logged in to WvW was earlier today. I am mainly a WvW player so I try to play it at least more or less daily.
Adding progression tracks did very much take efforts. It required balancing, it required coding the system altogether and so on. So claiming it took no effort is blatant lying.
Adding the progression track INITIALLY may have taken effort. Making a new track and adding it to what already exists probably would not take that much. If ANet wanted to smartly code, they would have made it so tracks could be added at any time by inputing variables such as the name, image, rewards, etc so that it would be reusable, and not coding it from scratch.
Though it is quite possible they did not.
I was also just wondering who is the bigger white knight on the forums, you or Vayne? I really have to say you, as Vayne does occasionally admit ANet’s faults and always backs his arguments up. You on the other hand do not.
I get that people dislike Living Story.
But can’t you at least be truthful when you complain about it?There have been multiple maps added in sPvP, they have also revamped the whole reward system and added the reward tracks.
WvW have gotten a completely new map with new systems, a completely new progression system which is still added to. Changes to the borderlands maps also happened.
Dungeons: New dungeon was added, and have since been updated with both new rewards, new instances and new systems. They have also added a new path to one the old dungeons and completely revamped another one of them.
Sure, you can dislike the current direction of the game, but completely ignoring stuff just because it doesn’t fit in your argument won’t really help your case.
Sorry what WvW new map are you talking about? EoTM is not a WvW map anymore, ask ANY single WvW player. EoTM has become a PvE ktrain. It is not possible to defend objectives without being cursed out, and trying to play EoTM like WvW is futile. Not really sure what the progression system you are talking about it, other than the WvW trait thing, but as to that being added to, throwing in Golem mastery is just kind of meh. I mean, its a start, but there needs to be something WAY more substantial. Lastly the changes to the borderlands maps did occur, I will grant you, but in the grand scheme of things that’s not what we want. We want NEW maps, NEW siege, FIXES to bugs and hacks, and more attention from the devs.
Not really sure when the last time you logged into WvW was, but I suggest you check the state of it. If you’ve been playing for a long time, you should be able to hop right back into WvW because its still very much the same.
Also want to say two things. EoTM being added was a long time ago, and adding a progression track for sPvP takes no effort at all. While I will say LS takes effort from a coding standpoint, they need to take a little bit from that and put it into other gamemodes.
Is it safe to leave them unopened for a while? I don’t want to clutter my bags too much and I want to clear maps as quickly as possible, so can I leave chests and such that appear above the map to be clicked unopened?
Same question with WvW Rank chests.
If not, please explain why.
Thanks in advance=]
I never leave them unopened for more than a few minutes, but I know at least with the CoF bonus chest that it does carry through zones. I have had mine bug out in CoF and exited the dungeon and opened it there with no issues.
The actual item description clearly states %dmg “against monsters”. The defense is universal though, and can be useful to get a little more sustain in larger WvW fights.
Clearly where if you don’t mind me asking?
“Double-click to consume to gain a buff that increases your damage by 5% for one hour.”
source: Guild Wars 2 Wiki & ingame description is identical as i have one of them in my bank. I think ive actually recieved ~3 str boosters since beta.
I have about 15 in my bank that I never use. As a general rule I forget to use my boosters, and I used to farm BL Keys a lot with my PvX guild, before it imploded. When I get home I’ll test to see if they affect players as well as monsters and post the findings.
I just wanted to make another thing clear from the WvW standpoint. People are leaving. WvW is what keeps a lot of people in the game, and ANet’s lack of dedication to WvW has never been more apparent.
- Putting in a WvW Tournament can actually make things WORSE do to people server hopping
- Making the achievements for the meta of said Tournament is horrible as many servers literally need the influx of PvE players helping to give us a chance
- Putting in a new line of Golem Mastery is hollow and we all know it
- The WvW Support pack literally offended some people in the WvW community because of both the lack of support ANet gives WvW and the fact that the items in it had absolutely nothing to do with WvW
- Lack of bug fixes and absolutely no response of the issue of hacks, which has been brought up and ignored dozens if not hundreds of times. I know the PvE guys are having issues with this as well.
When its clear our pleas for some kind of help are ignored, we leave. And honestly, ANet needs new players yeah, but they need to focus on keeping us old players as well.

Because god forbid you even step foot in a gamemode that needs support. Thanks guys, you da best.
What’s up with armor and strength booster with cash? Since when have we been able to get +% dmg boosts with gems? Disregarding rng blchests ofc.
You can actually buy them flat out with gems via the booster tab on the gem store. Been that way for quite a while actually.
There appears to be no indication of str or defence boosters there. So when did it become fine to be able to flat out buy +5% more dmg and def?
Yeah, just checked and it looks like you’re right. I guess +5% isn’t a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but still it is something and the fact that you can now buy boosters like that is a little disconcerting.
If I do not get a skimpy skin that is dedicated to Channing Tatum and Magic Mike, I will not be happy.

Just add a simple “You are feeding the WvW developers by buying this pack.” I might consider it then.
Might.
Probably not.If only… Chances are the big brother PvE devs would take it away and use it for more PvE in wvw. (Toxic alliance killing yaks)
bwahahahah this made me laugh so hard
And my main issue with this pack is the name. People will buy it because some people buy everything they see in the gem store. But really, its kinda insulting to WvW players when you give US no support and then try and make money off of a “Support” pack.
I laughed because of the title of “WvW Support Pack” when its clear that nobody but us supports WvW
ANet, hacking is still a major issue in your game. I’m on Mag, and since the server’s we’ve been facing are wrecking us without hacks I don’t really have any experience seeing them except for a few weeks back, before Mag crashed. But it seems hacks are spreading over to PvE worlds as well, and are still an issue in WvW.
By creating an environment in which you have no reliable tools to report hackers, you encourage the action. This is because of the fact that hackers know that the odds of them being banned are pretty low. What’s even worse is when hacking is discussed on the forums, a Mod tends to lock and/or delete the thread, and then may even infract certain users who discussed the topic!
Right now, the tools for reporting hackers are just a giant petri dish for hackers to grow. I’m sure many a player has become disillusioned after being the victim of a hacker who has not been banned for so long, and downloaded a custom client to even the score in their mind. We can all agree that this is not a desirable course of action, however anyone who has been the victim of a hacker taking a tower you spent time to take and upgrade understands the frustration felt.
This all could be fixed, by the way. Many solutions have been openly proposed on the forums, only to all be merged into a mess of a thread that proceeds to die unceremoniously. I normally feel that you, ANet, need to take action and not just make empty promises. However, at the moment I would settle for a post or two from the devs about this topic, and really just an understanding that this IS and issue and ANet IS going to deal with it. Because right now, it seems that you are more concerned with the gold sellers than the hackers that are ruining my, and many others, gameplay.

Kill them whenever you see them. Make them work hard for their achievement so that they feel as though they have acheived something.
Make PvE players feel they achieved something?
Sir, I believe you may need to get you’re head examined, because you’re making perfect sense and ANet doesn’t realize it
The developers need to communicate with us. It was only a few weeks ago we saw the big post, “Communicating with you” basically saying they need to do a better job. So here’s your chance to make waves in the WvW community.
All you have to do is say, “We are working on something.”
No. That’s not all they have to do anymore. Not for me at least. I have been spoon-fed that line of garbage for what seems like ages, as have many people, people who have quit for games that actually have content being added and fixed.
ANet needs to show me exactly what we’ve been requesting on the WvW forums and build back my trust. If they build it back far enough and then mess up once or twice, then they can say they are working on it. Right now though, they need to show some results.
What I’m saying is, both FA and MAG feel much more like tier 3.5 and 3 to me. My recollection from previous seasons is that T2 was much closer to SoS now than it is to FA.
It would be soooo nice if T1 and T2 were close enough to allow the top six servers to trade around in match ups. But I don’t really see that happening.
I do 100% agree though, its pretty stupid that MAG got stuck in gold league.
I wish they could get it so that T1 and T2 were interchangeable and really relied on the skill of the commanders a server had in order to win a matchup instead of coverage. And in FA’s defense, they probably are the closest thing to a T2 server that NA has at the moment. The issue is that gap between T1 and T2 is so large, TC might as well be facing T8 and T9 servers for all the good it does us.
And Mag tried tanking down to a lower tier. We never played for PPT before, but the weeks leading up to the tourney we literally avoid it like it was toxic. And we still couldn’t get down a tier. Which says that the disparity between T2 and Silver T1 is also huge, and that is an issue as well.
It’s a shame that ANet never forcibly merged servers or encouraged free transfers to servers like Mag who really needed it. I mean, the way Mag is doing at the moment, I doubt we could pay people less that 5-10 gold AND the transfer cost in order to get them to come on over.
I think a pikeman class would be interesting. I don’t know exactly how it would work, but it would be something new and substantial, which is more than we’re getting right now.
The devs have made it clear what they planning on doing with WvW: nothing. I mean sure, we’ll get a small footnote in the features patches. Golem mastery, woop de do. And a new tourney every now and then to even more obviously unbalance the servers as people flood to the ones they think will win for rewards.
Looking at past patch notes I notice something pretty big. The notes for new additions to the gem store – heck, even the notes for just a quaggan backpack or something of no actual gameplay value (I like cosmetics, but WvW is real gameplay), get a larger note than WvW does.
This is what the metrics say. Cater to the PvE players, as they are more likely to throw money at the game in the form of gems to gold. Meanwhile, give the WvW players the table scraps to try and keep them from quitting and giving competitors their business.
But we’re fed up with table scraps.
I have been saying for a long time that Anet needs to find some way for forcing the server pops to even out. I think you will always have T1 servers that will be the biggest most organised wvw servers. But the kitten gap needs to be more like TC/JQ vs SoS. T2 will still loose the week vs T1 but they can take and hold ground reliably.
That’s the thing though, we can’t even take or hold ground reliably. Both FA and Mag have nothing in EBG at the moment. Our keeps, and FA’s, are being fully upgraded and wp’d by TC. At the moment, Mag has one keep, garri, which has zero upgrades and I expect we will lose within an hour.
The concept of T2 servers is a bad one, because the T1 server takes so much stuff we cant even fight each other. Maybe if we teamed up we could take a keep and a few towers, but you guys would steamroll us as soon as swords popped.
I just want to be clear, I have absolutely nothing against you guys. You’re playing WvW the way that you can win. And if Mag were in the same spot, we wouldn’t be different. I’m mad at ANet for thinking that these kinds of match-ups are remotely fair and don’t have predetermined endings, however.
I think new requirements are awesome. They give players the taste of wvw without grind. They are free to stay or leave and have less chance of being screamed (“explained”, ha-ha, right, only to five new people, then the screaming starts) at and roflstomped by the enemy zerg. With negative aspects minimized, people might actually return
What server are you on? Just wondering. Because I’m on Maguuma, and right now we’re being roflstomped by TC. I by stomped, I mean they all the towers and the keep on our side of EBG fully upgraded and WP, and we have 1 keep (garri) in our own BL.
Without any other incentive, no PvE player will stay just to be roflstomped over and over by TC. They will come in, they will cap 5 sentries, and they will leave. They will not return.
Higher population servers might not have this issue, but for Mag, it is destroying our server’s WvW presence.
I wanna see a Mod vs Dev matchup, that would be hilarious.
+1. This idea is actually a really good one if ANet manages to implement it successfully. It would give lower population servers a fighting chance, as defending a tower/keep is much easier than taking one and then praying you can hold it until the tick goes off and gives you the points.
And I think a successful defense should basically be if the enemy throws down a ram and hits the gate a few times. Then it should trigger. Otherwise it would be too easy to abuse by trolls are jerks.
Good suggestion, shame it will probably be ignored :/
Look at the bright side, at least you didnt get stuck fighting BG!
Well, I suppose that is a small plus. But that’s not the main issue really. The main issue is the fact that people have been having to tell ANet that their matchups are messed up. They should be able to see that for themselves when servers are losing their matches by the kind of margins we are seeing at the moment.
But instead of helping us, they actually hurt us with the new achievements for the tourney. Mag did well the first few days last week because we had an influx of PvE players who just wanted to grab the meta. It helped us get set up for a little bit immensely. But by making it so easy to get, we basically get screwed over by ANet because they wanted to cater to PvE players with the WvW tourney.
I personally hope that BG is having a blast, and I’m being serious. Because if BG isn’t having fun, then I don’t really think anyone this week is.
Is this a joke? I mean, the first week I was surprised by how well we (Mag) did for the first 2 or 3 days. And then we get matched with TC?
Look, the match ups for this tourney are the biggest joke since – since I don’t even know. Mag should have been dropped FORCIBLY by ANet. Take a look at the coverage. You guys at ANet all say you listen to metrics. Did the metrics not tell you that Mag had maybe 1/10th the coverage of TC?
Exploits? In ANet’s game?
Clearly you mean “working as intended”
Hi, Im the ele from Mag that you killed. I just wanted to say that I was planning on giving you the tower once I took down the gate, because of the face I can’t solo a tower, even in a golem. However, I was not happy when you decided to attack me, because I thought we were friends.
Why cant we be friends?
- Sincerly
The Ele from Mag
I for one are very happy the way it is now. Its exactly the way they say it was going to be no worrying about checking every 5 min to see what achivement you need to do. Now i know you hardcore wvw players would disagree with me which is fine but if you enjoy wvw and do it for fun why worry about the achievments at all. Just ignore em and have fun.
That’s not why I’m mad at these achievements. A lot of servers, Mag included, NEED that influx of PvE players going for the Meta to give us a fighting chance the first week or two. Now we lost that, because the PvE players didn’t want that.
That’s whats inexcusable to me. I work hard and try to basically do what I can, and so do the other 15-20 people on Mag WvW. But those hundreds in PvE will pop into EoTM, do 5 events and get the karma and maybe a level, and then pop out. Yet the rewards are the same?
Mag is indeed placed in gold. Whether they’re “playing” in gold is up for debate.
I would arguing that playing with myself while I afk and wait for the miracle that will give Mag a chance happens counts as “playing”
Absurd. Explain to me why i have to be at level X to click on the goggle and jump ?
The act of relaying the thought to the hand and fingers to click the goggles, much less equip them, is too much for most people. Not only could you suffer a stroke from too much thinking, you could hurt your finger or get the dreaded carpal tunnel syndrome.
The ideal game would have no clicked or thinking involved.
I have it.
Watch paint dry.
Pleas, i m my friends are player of pve
cant wwant do wvw in for achievmunt
pls too hard
Its ok, ANet made a PvE WvW map just for you -
Join Edges of the Mist Today!
Proper siege tactics too hard?
Don’t want any real fights?
Want to fight easy mobs that drop the things you need for your character to look better than your friends?
Join Edges of the Mist Today!
Edges of the Mist was made for lower skill, casual PvE players like you who just want to mindlessly karma train. You’ll feel right at home.
Just stay out of our WvW please.
Why were the forums not level gated? As a level 80, I find them very confusing and they distract from the gameplay. Also, how to use them was not covered in the tutorial that taught me how to dance.
Please ANet, help, need more level gate.
Transfer to ET and experience greener pastures!
Personally I can afford the transfer, but my friends cant. And I don’t really want to transfer anyway. Mag is still where I got started and I enjoy whats left of it.
No, what’d be nice would be ANet dropping us down so we have a fighting chance rather than being spawncamped.
Mag can have some fun and play spoiler; but the match with two T1’s will be a brutal spawncamp.
otherwise, they might as well have this last hurrah as the “we play for fights” because they won’t be holding much territory.
At the moment, our matches with FA and SoS are a brutal spawncamp. And we can’t really play for fights because we’ll run into the FA/SoS zergs crashing into each other and get lose amongst them.
If by play spoiler you mean decide who gets to win the match, the only way we could do that is letting one team cap the few things we hold and just mount a defense when the other side comes to hit them.
I don’t think many people fully understand exactly how dead Mag is.
We’re absolutely, positively, screwed.
Oh yeh, thats another point Mudbone. ANet seems to love deleting threads with varying degrees of what causes a thread to be deleted. Another point against ANet.
… the Living Story, which is something that the majority of players do not want.
[CITATION NEEDED]
Lemme correct that then. LS is something that a majority of players do not want over content that actually matters and changes the game.
Define “actually matters” and “game”. Because there’s massive vines running through Iron Marches and your statement sounds flat-out subjective.
But let’s pretend I didn’t type any of that, I’d like a citation for this “correct” statement.
Wait, vines running through the iron marches is all we need to be happy? Someone call ANet. Tell them to put vines everywhere! Gameplay doesnt need to change. Cheating doesnt need to be addressed! And who needs those dungeons? And fractals? Phah!
If you seriously only needed to see some vines run through the map to be happy than good for you. But heres the thing. You’re still talking about lore, and how the world works. People want to play the game. Do vines running through the marches even change gameplay? Maybe they hint to a sinister boss battle, but honestly, unless spooky skeleton pops out the of the ground real quick and we fight him for a solid reason with some new concepts to work with, people wont be around to fight Mr Spooky, and thats a shame.
Edit: You even brought up the need to have updates to other aspects of the game in your original post. Yet you seem to be now fixated on defending the priority that LS has over the rest of the game? Confused.
(edited by sishbob.3987)
Well, this isn’t mindless qq, but I have to ask…
If ArenaNet’s policy – probably made by Mike O’Brien himself – is that they won’t talk about updates until those updates are basically ready to ship, how will a Community Management Team help?
I mean, having a larger team to post “we can’t discuss features in development” on more threads won’t help.
A larger and/or better Community Management Team also won’t help those features or content get built faster.
So I’m not really sure the point? I think ArenaNet needs to improve its communication, but that’s not a knock (necessarily) against the people doing the communicating, it’s a criticism of the policies they have in place for communicating with us.
Having more people to say things will be delayed will not help, agreed. But in my mind, these people would know exactly how the community is feeling.
Its quite clear that ANet is severely lacking in the “addressing player concerns” department. They tend to pick one thread, seemingly at random, click on it, and post. The team of community managers could see EVERY thread, or at least a vast majority of them, and not only point them out to ANet but also tell players that they are tossing the idea to ANet and they will get back to them.

The LS IS changing the game world. That is the point – destroyed LA, broken WP, Pale Tree maybe dying, items that were left from the LS in the world. Those are definite changes. How would a new chapter (like Prophecies to Factions in GW1) change things? All it would do is move players to a new area and the old area would stay the same. The LS is pushing things forward, not in the way you want but in the way A.Net feels would benefit the game.
How do you know the majority of players do not want the LS? Have you asked them or did you just assume because YOU don’t want it? Please state it properly, you don’t want the LS.
I read the forums, and the amount that people want things that are NOT LS related seems to outweigh the one, like you, who do want things LS related.
Imho lore is just that: lore. Yes, I love the lore for most games, and GW is one of them. That does not mean that lore is more important than making a game that not only lasts, but is also fun for EVERYONE to play, not just the diehard lore fans who really care.

I’m impresssed you got tickets at all, way to go! I never recieved any despite repeated efforts – must be my bad dolyak aura or something. In any event, if I were you I would use them relatively soon. But thats just me, bad dolyak and all. Happy WvWing!
I’m impressed you’ve managed to stay positive despite not receiving any tickets because – assuming you earned the meta – its a sign that ANet really doesnt care enough to fix a problem a novice coder with Java could fix.
And I get GW2 doesnt run off of Java, but the point remains: the fix for missing tickets and rewards is an easy one, and the fact it was and is ignored for so long is disconcerting. I still know a few people who have yet to receive their Season 1 rewards.
My honest suggestion is get a Community Management Team that is, well, staffed by people who actually understand the community. Very few people have a greater vested interest in this game than the players, and we can help. Community is a huge thing, and giving people who have proven they care about the game a line of communication to you guys so they can relay that to us is awesome. Not only do you guys get to stop posting on here if you dont want to, but we get people who understand how we feel when we keep getting nothing in content updates.
Look at the WvW forums. People NEED to hear something substantial or it will fail. Even the PvE forums are looking kind of desperate imo. Just help us save your game, because we care to.
inb4 white knights “this is mindless qq this is why we cant have nice things this is why Anet doenst come on the forums this is why wvw players are mean this is why” etc
I think the main issue is that ANet has decided to go forward with the Living Story, which is something that the majority of players do not want. Here’s what I honestly feel.
ANet, first of all, need to calm down with the Living Story. Living Story is a nice distraction, but honestly it takes maybe 1hr to complete one of the new “Episodes” and then we’re SOL for a few more weeks. Second, once LS stops being the main focus, focus on updating ONE aspect of the game. Only one for now. Make a brand new content patch so people can finally say “omg ANet finally gave some of the people what they asked for? Maybe we’re next?” and then they’ll give you a little more time.
ANet, the issue is that you’ve taken the game in the direction you want to go. And I can respect that, it’s your game. But at the same time, this isn’t an indie game, and you really dont get to do that. Some players have given you thousands of dollars, and the least you can do is give us something in return. Try making a cycle of updates, one month will be WvW, one month PvE, one month Fractals/Dungeons, and all the while have your story team cranking out a good storyline for LS that you can give to us. Everybody is happy, the game doesnt die, and you get less rage threads on the forums…
