Running with pug groups I often find myself dying alot to conditions that my party doesnt remove, or find myself missing that ONE thing(whatever it may be) that will make the run go abit easier, whether it be some CC or maybe a little Regen to ease big hits, etc.

So i’m here to ask what traits/gear i could be using to make my ele into a “I’ll do it myself” character.

I was thinking Celestial gear?

I am so fed up with being yanked around, pushed around, knocked down, chilled, crippled, stunned, anything and everything they PACK into every godkitten zone to prevent me from doing something so SIMPLE as trying to get to my party! It’s REALLY getting out of hand, and just made it all too easy to switch off the game tonight and watch a movie instead.

Wanna pack a dungeon with all that stuff? HAVE AT IT, I definetely feel we should have to get smart to skip all those trash mobs!

But in the open world? C’mon ANET, give a dude a break, those are some big effing zones to be getting messed with the WHOLE way to your party.

Please tone it down.

Havent played my necro in awhile, i log on and tinker around, and it wont let me swap my elite from plague to lich form? Any idea why? I’m in town, so not in combat…clicking the ^ arrow doesnt even give me a list, on the hotbar or in my skills panel. Ideas?

Looking forward to reading over some necro zerker builds. i’d just gotten done with my zerker armor and only need the weapons. perfect time to get a change to the class for me.
If anyone has some already fleshed out, i’d like to see em pls!

Son, every pug ive joined for cof runs since forever been doing this. It’s no secret xD

It’s not a bug. It is intentionally blocked off. Even if one were to magiclly flow through the gate, one would be teleported back out of it.
I suspect that it is a location of one of the ‘suspects’ from the new achievements for the living story. So just wait for that part of the living story to open.

Naughty Naughty Haxors

I dont want to buy it. i want to grind it for free like the SAB skins. My chars mostly all have a SAB skin or two. This is full on grind for…just one skin.
I dont get it, and i’m getting pretty annoyed now.
I really figured i had to be missing something.

We’re supposed to get this many in a month of casual play?

So..to get the dragon wings, i need 100 Candies for a Jorbreaker Candy. And i need 1000 Jorbreaker candies for the wings.

Wut?

100 THOUSAND candies to get the wings? Dragon Ball only gives me 5 if i WIN. The pinatas only give me 1(ONE). The holographic things in the lowbie zones give me like 4.

What the heck? This is like the definition of grind.

Please tell me i’m missing something here?

i figured maybe it was just something to do with the way the dungeon worked, you know, teleporting around between fracs or something.

I also figured there was a dev response somewhere on the issue since it seems like alot of people would be talking about it, and i just couldnt locate it.

I should stop figuring.

Wondering why we still don’t get guild influence from having a party or 3 or more guildies yet for fractals of the mist?

We do this dungeon more than most others. If CoF p1 spamming gives it, i see no reason why FOTM doesnt award guild influence for it.

Just did 100 rares, yielded 31 ectos, never once did i get a reward of more than 1 ecto per rare.

This is definetely a bug.

Not sure how GW2spidy plays into it, but since the patch, ecto prices have rocketed.

I’m getting all kinds of issues with the party system these days. Almost all the Player names i enter into the Party window to Join say ‘Player Cannot be Found’. I have to whisper them and ask for an invite.

Just now trying to get into FOTM, i get an error ‘Party Error. Map you are trying to join is split between party member’ or something like that. I had to leave party, restart client, and map swap to even get INTO that one.

When trying to join an Arah party yesterday, i had to Guest on their server just to get a popup to go in. This one has happened multiple times.

Whats the deal?

Can we please get an itemized list option for inventory? Like instead of seeing only pictures and having to hover over them, have the option to get an inventory screen like a merchants Selling screen?

Where things are listed with their color and name.

I have 120 slots i think, and hunting through my inventory for other sets of armor, weapons, potions, mat’s, food etc etc etc is really tedious. Having to hover over each item individually just to see what it is takes forever.

I have to say, if they are going to take shortcuts we may stumble across out, they should stop mesmer ports as well.

Players helping players in both cases

Player A uses mesmer port provided by player B

Player C uses shortcut knowledge provided by player D.

Please Stop with the RNG. Make a token system for all these new dungeons. I’d hoped that after all the FOTM complaints about the RNG on the weapon skins maybe ANET was just going to fix it from that point on instead of fixing that particular dungeon. Now with the Flame and Frost dungeon and the jetpack skin we are trying to get being RNG, it just makes me sure that everything included in the flame and frost story will be the same.

Charge an incredible number of tokens, or refugee papers, or karka heads for the upcoming Southsun content, i dont care. At least we know where we stand.

Whats really the difference in running the dungeon 200 times for tokens and running it 200 times for RNG. It just leaves the unlucky ones left out. It’s literally just punishing folks for the sake of punishing them.

It doesn’t matter how you do it, just take RNG out of the equation.

It can be done. You did it for the Guantlets. Make it an achievement thing.

Just wondering if there has been any word on a gift option for cash shop items? I know there is a workaround of buying a 2k gem card and sending them the code, but that’s abit much in my opinion.

I don’t think it would be hard to add a Gift button next to the Buy button, then just input the name of who you’d want to gift it to.

For instance, if i wanted to buy my friend a mini hippo(400 gems), or the sonic tunneling tool(250 gems), my only option is to send them a 2000 gem gift card code. Obviously, for me, 250 gems or 400 gems is acceptable, whereas 2k is not.

I’m sure it’d help bring our game some more revenue as well. Win for us, Win for the Company.

EDIT: I mean a Gift button next to the specific item, not gems themselves. When i give a gift, i like giving the item, not gems.

That’s exactly what one of them did, after i showed him how to, you know, get there xD

For players with no friends in game, jus trying the game out, they’ve no idea on where to go, or even if they CAN go somewhere, to see their skills fully unlocked.

I have gotten 6 of my friends to try out GW2 this weekend, and 4 of them have repeatedly asked"Why are all my skills locked?"(the other two didn’t feel the game was for them, didn’t give a reason)

I’d suggest, in future trials, maybe make a trial server, where players start at level 30, so they have their skillbars unlocked fully, to give an accurate impression of what ‘the game’ really plays like.

Not sure how that would work, but the main complaint i’ve heard from them is that their utility skills are locked, and its a basic hack n slash game. Which IMO, isn’t true, but could seem that way from a new player trying the game.

Thoughts? Anyone else got friends that are trying the game? What are their impressions? I know my 4 friends aren’t exactly an ideal sample size.

Yeah i wont recommend Ele to her. I havent yet gotten my Ele under my belt xD

Couple votes for mesmer. shocking. When i began my mesmer, it kind of sucked until i got the traits going on it. I figured that’d be the last vote.

She plays a ranger type character in alot of games we play.

It seems every few days when i login, I have to download a 30-50mb ish update. There are never any patch notes, and when there are, it says ‘no changes have been made’. So why then does it always have to update? Makes no sense to me. Enlighten, pls.

How much smaller do you WANT them? My characters are all asura except for my mesmer, and they are too tiny as it is when compared to other races. jeez.

I have G600, bought it just for gw2, never have, nor am I currently, having issues with it.

GW2 has nothing to do with your mouse and keyboard inputs. If it’s lagging, it’s server side lag to general input itself, and not an ‘issue’ with your mouse in particular

EDIT: or its your mouse being faulty or the software for it being faulty. It’s one or the other.

You should realize most are doing fractals lower than their actual frac level for daily chest for a chance of skins.

In any case, pre 20 i skip, post 20 i kill.

You did password recovery, so your email is intact. That means whoever is playing your game, is doing it from your IP. Since you have to verify new IP’s through your email….and your email is fine….

of my characters, this is my list in order of level friendliness

1. Warrior.
2. Guardian
3. Thief
4. Ranger
5. Mesmer.

Thief and ranger might be swapped. Mesmer was definetely not leveling friendly. they dont shine until 60-80 ish

If it’s redownloading, the files arent there. Which means you or your computer deleted them. It wont redownload two sets of files, unless you move them to another directory.

Problem on your end, not anets.

Farm ori ore in Mal’s Leap/ Cursed shore. They sellin for like 3s a piece since bot bans not too long ago. There’s 10 nodes, 3 ori per node. 30 ori x 3s = a gold just running around picking stuff up. Got alts? more money.

What server are you on? Are you trying to guest on a server and pick that ori ore as well? I too thought i’d be slick and do that. You can’t. Also, check out Orrmaps.com for locations on most things in orr.

Other than that, my daily runs on JQ have still produced same amount of materials.
Either it’s bugged on your server, or you are looking in the wrong spot.

I think drop rates are just fine. I got my first fractal weapon drop a few days ago, and it’s not even something I plan on using (pistol). My personal level scale is 27. That said, I’m, the kind of person that really doesn’t like the concept of tokens for gear. Bad RNG luck is bad RNG luck, but tokens are nothing but pure grind.

You honestly think some of us running this dungeon for almost 2 months, every single day, and getting nothing is just fine?

And that Bad RNG is better than Tokens?! At least with tokens i know when my grind will be over.

Glad this is getting abit of attention, in any case.

You mention Risk vs Reward in your post, and while i agree open world events need a boost in reward, I don’t think they should be equal or very close to equal with dungeon rewards.

In a typical dungeon, you have 5 people versus overpowered, overhealthed mobs, fighting to get through it, most of the time dying a few times, and even completely having the party wipe at times.

In open world events, especially popular ones(see: ones with the best loot) you have a mass zerg of people quickly handling what is thrown at them with very little risk, or strategy involved. When(if) someone is downed, the mob of players quickly revives, making it so that a player can ,almost, watch t.v. while mashing an auto attack button and moving a little when the big attacks come.

The risk versus reward doesnt add up.

Using a specific dungeon path as an example isn’t evidence to raise rewards everywhere, i’m pretty sure we all know CoF path 1 isn’t intended to be farmed so easily, and when compared with any other dungeon, the rewards for that specific path are very much ‘out of whack’.

Again, not saying open world loot doesnt need a boost.

I have done 26-28 and 30-36 (one of each scale lvl) daily for well over a month now, the last 10 days have gotten nothing (glad not to get any rings already have 34 of them) but other than the last 10 days my luck hasn’t sucked. So far I have gotten Stafff, Spear, Trident, Warhorn, Axe and 2 Hammers too bad all I actually want is the GreatSword.

It’s posts like these, and the ’Hey, got another one" ’s from the parties i go with, that make me a sad kitty

Busting my kitten for one or two weapon skins, and folks are getting them back to back :/

Don’t really have the desire to do the dungeon anymore. All my alts have their rings and a few have their backpieces. Only thing left is the skins i want, and that just isn’t happening. Get better money running CoF.

I want ANET to make this dungeon like all the others, and let me spend my tokens(relics) on the weapons i want.

Doesn’t seem an unfair request, since they caved for people complaining about rings and made acquiring those in line with other dungeons, buying with the dungeon currency.
