I get that people get kittened off because they used real money in the hope to get some skins drop from a chest.
I think that Arenanet should have had skins for sale via the shop and not via a lottery that costs real money. At least not without the proper advertisement and information before purchase.
It could have been better if in addition to buy keys you could have used the mystery potions to buy the skin (or another series of templates) you desired from a vendor. That way you had the certainty of a purchase and guaranteed you had something after spending all that money!
Like many other I loved this people. The fact that we started with a whole group made it even better. The higher up you get the more people fall off and shortly after its usually 2 or 3 running after each other.
It took me some time to learn it, 2 hours or so and after succeding i repeated it on every character I have. Now I have a friend asking me to run it for him so he gets the achievement
Thumbs up, Anet, keep them coming. Would love the same kind of puzzle but with different paths that branch off, not all leading to death but different kind of routes
One of many…
Once upon a time I was exploring this forest looking for points of interest to contribute to my map completion. This was not a very dense forest but it was large enough. In the middle of it was this small house surrounded by just a low little fence. I can’t remember if there actually was a point of interest but I did walk up to the door and the next thing I remember is that the door opens and a women walks outside. She starts telling me and some NPC’s off and before I knew it there were kids being chased by demons which we had to save, by that time 1 or 2 curious passerbys had stopped to help out. It all started escalating and ended in us fighting that woman that turned out to be thougher then a nail in a coffin.
Since then I kinda stay away from little houses in eerie forests, unless accompanied with friends.
No subscription fee liberates the mind it seems. No pressure to get the most value out of your money. You paid once and get to play forever and ever and ever…
I cant say I stick to an hour or so. GW2 does get me involved longer then that but that is probably because I have the possibility to spend the time on it. I am playing with friend but neither one of us has the rush to do this or that or we will fall behind… its a stress-free mmorpg for me
Like all games should be!
When a party member is downed we should here something alike: “Man down! Man down! Help me up allright!”
When a party member is defeated they should here something alike :"Run to the bl**dy waypoint, rezzing you will take too much time anyways!
A tool that shows who is online in the zone you are in would be handy.
In the-game-that-shall-not-be-named during the time before LFG tool was released I would just whisper the players that are playing the required class and ask them politely if they would like to join us. The success rate was very high. People tend to react more positive to direct questions while rather not caring about indirect spamming zonechannels.
I read my OP again and I see I should have written improvements instead of content.
I suppose they are fixing and straightening out all bugs so the game runs perfect. And that is how it should be and I support them in that. I just wonder what will happen after that…will they work on an expansion or will they install improvements in the game enhancing gameplay: FOV adjustement, skinclosets, …etc
It seem to me that because we don’t pay subscription fees Anet has less money available to hire loads of people to work on new stuff while other fix the existing bugs and so on. It seems they will have to prioritize, fixing bugs should be top and that leaves me wondering how much budget/time they have to read forums, evaluate suggestions, make a design, iomplement, test and release, etc… Is there a point in us offering suggestions?
I do not know how live is in the peaceful place you come from. But in my world bears, lynxes, wolves, panthers, scorpions, spiders, moose, mothers in law, etc rip you a new one if you come into their range.
That is one of the reasons everybody, including you in your OP, calls them wild animals.
Sounds smart and unavoidably for bots…unless they start running random routes from now on
A notification when friend/guildies log on/off would be much appreciated. Toggeable tru options is a plus!
If you go dagger/dagger and sword/dagger you just need 2 daggers if i am not mistaken. But I get what you mean.
Then again you are welcome to offer a sugegstion how you would fix it
@Endless Dreamer: thanks for the info but it does not really answer. I mean, I see it as a timed event which will be over soon. Something that offers mainly cosmetic things and does not change something about the game on a permanent base. thanks for your input tho.
What I wonder if any permanent changes are planned based upon suggestions by players made on the forum. By that I mean things like camerabehaviour, town clothes, barbershop, etc…
FYI the current maximum for screen shots in the folder is 999. When you move them to another folder to make please GW2 restarts the counter from 001, Which means you will end up with duplicates by yourself after due time and screenshotting :S
Dear Anet,
Since there is no monthly subscription requiered to play the game and you therefor (should) have less income I wonder what course you will be sailing.
Will you keep developing the game and bring us new content with patches or will you rather fix bugs, etc and keep everything as it is but make sure it all works smooth witha push of the button.
I understand you might not want to disclose your strategy but I wonder if it is usefull to make suggestions or not.
Thank you for your answer!
Try fighting 3 mobs that aoe heal each other in turn… Some place really are madly crowded, while others are not.
Its hard to get to certain places but I don’t mind. With a friend or 2 its easy progress and more fun.
Evenly spread out enemies in a zone occupied by them is not unrealistic imo, its called standing guard
But the spawn rate is insane indeed, its not fun killing a mob while the previous one returns to attack you in the back!
Its called sneaking and avoiding the main roads. Its called an achievement for some reason.
Another post yes, same arguments …yes
100% map exploration = discovering all the maps not just 90% of them. Deal with it
Greatswords are a tad too big as it is now.
Hammers a looking ok, just always the same skin that comes back… still…they hurt like hell
I never expect Arenanet to respond to my suggestion. What I do expect them to is to read it and evaluate it.
The reason the same topics come back is because people keep recreating them instead of using +1 or bumping the original post.
Many of the people that make suggestion seems to express the need to be praised by Anet for their effort.
Other suggestions are just ridiculous and some are serious.
Anyway I hate being the guy having to read through it all with an objective and open mind.
Stop whining you old people, how much time do you think it takes to relearn those skill orders? For myself I have always been bothered that whirlwind was not skill nr 2.
Yes I learned it all as it was before and have to relearn it but as an intelligent, flexible human being that should be no problem.
The cooldown on field of wrath means you use it once in a fight instead of twice.
We are guardians…we ll be fine!
For some reason I love the sound when you come out of the waypoint in WvW
Also the outcry when a male character gets crippled: my leg, my leg!
Many good sound fx out there and indeed for little positivity about them!
I am not sure which race it says but when one of my characters gets crippled he starts limping while he yells: “My leg! MY LEG!”. Its so funny we started saying it whenever we get crippled on other characters.
My female norn guardian: “New land? NEW LAND!”
Generally i love it when statement go over the top so they become funny. Especially when those statement don’t take things seriously or sarcastically
At the moment you can start with 2 professions, lvl them up and then switch to another one. You can switch back to the first one you took without losing the invested points.
Why not make all professions shared among all characters? At the moment I have several characters and each has 1 or 2 crafting professions. All together i have all crafting professions covered.
When I reach a certain lvl 5/10/15/20… i must now log on to my alts, make the new armor/weapons/rings etc and then deposit in the bank so the character that needs it can collect it from there.
How about if my thief needs a new weapon I can just go to the weaponsmithing thing and make a weapon with the skill level that my guardian acquired.
This solution could work for those that want accountbount recipes (not sure if they are atm) but also for those with slower pcs that like to avoid all those loading screens.
The way it is now we are all ready halfway there. I don’t think there will be many people that bother to lvl up the same crafting skill with another alt just to avoid logging to the one with the necessary crafting skills!
I am all in for harder dungeons and harder this and that but not for the extra loot it will bring.
In the end people will still only go for the loot and if you make it special loot that you can only get there and must have to make that special something then you force people to do that in order to reach their goal. Thus it ends up in farming.
In my humble opinion it should all be about having fun and not about getting a reward.
I tlooks good but there is something about it that rings an alarmbel in my head…
Maybe its just me but it seems like a tv add with this guy talking so slick and praising it up into the 7th heaven.
I think there are too many bots around from hacked accounts and I wont try any 3rd party software just out of precaution.
Auto-completion works for account names, eg nim.9364. Then my friend gets it on whoever character he/she is on at that moment.
I participate in WvW sometimes but not that much. In the meanwhile I have 100% completion. I got all points I could at first, then went back regulary to check on the status of the map.
The last ones I needed, on EB, were taken with a zerg and this due to the reason that many others wanted those poi’s.
Everybody is always interested in discovering a new POI. Why don’t you ask around and form an army just to get those castles that have POI’s you need? A commander can take charge and with some tactics get the job done.
But removing WvW from the “Been there, done that.” achievement is QQ. Then they might as well rename it to “Been almost there, done almost all but I wet my diaper along the way and needed it refreshed.”
WvW is part of the game and 100% completion means 100% completion. I was even surprised there are no POI’s in spvp that counts toward this achievement.
I hate ding-sayers. I never got that why people do that? Is it that much needed to hear people tell you you did a good job?
On topic: its fine as it is. I even like the airpunch. A kitten yellow fountain like in other games would be overrated. The airpunch is a nice GW2 lvl up signature move
Seeing as the reward for ‘endgame’ is mostly estatical. It should be possilbe to store skins and swap them on the fly. Could be even a collectible tab in the bank, like in spvp
@Fildydarie: all those things you listed that you did are actions that the opposing faction can stop you from doing. The can kill the Dolyak you help, defend point you are taken, rebuild their sieges and so on. That is meant to be done and how it is fun to do.
What would you do or feel when a teammember slowed down the Dolyak you are trying to help, repairs the siege you are trying to destroy, stands in your way when you are trying to scout enemy movement? Exactly…those actions are not possible in the game.
Unfortunately, due to the serverswitch possibilities, people can use up your precious materials in useless way to give themself an advantage. There is no way of stopping them because they are on the same side (at that moment). And because of their actions your faction will loose the castle since you dont have the necessary materials to get upgrades or build defenses where they matter.
Even if you have a good leader that tells people to bring mats, and lets say they all do. They still have to get past the zerg in front of their castle to deliver those and then only they can help build defenses which should have been build ages before.
All in all it is a game-breaking tactic that should be shunned if you have a bit of morality or sense of fair play…but I don’t have high hopes for that.
Hammers look fine for size, but most of them look the same. A square block on a stick… Only encountered one good looking hammer and that one was actually lvl 12. Guess ill drag that skin around for a bit
Then use the hidden fountains to become stealthed! I know the location of 2 of them. First one is up the side to the right when entering the puzzle through the portal. the next one is after the first obstacle course: it is up some rocks in the corner before you head down the corridor to climb up the well.
These fountains (there should be more because I have seen invisible players, contradiction there, further up in the puzzle) give you invisibility for several minutes. You do not get to use any weapon skills though but they help you a lot. Ofc aoe can break the effect but they do not notice you at all, not even when you min that rich Orichalcum vein right under their nose
It speaks logic that those fountain serve the function of allowing players like you (outnumbered) to solve the puzzle and reach the end.
Pay for it how? Will you cancel your subscription now?
When you visit a kindergarten and are amazed you stand out instead of being downscaled
Not at all, i think its too soon anyway. The game has been out for one month only anyways.
Its just for curiosty’s sake. It reflects what other people agree upon. Not sure how Anet handles forum, I suppose they read all but and also take +1 clicks into account.
Those are called penguins
Maybe its a special breed of those
There is a solution for being attacked while doing the puzzle in eternal battleground. A bit off the beaten track, are wells that render you invisible for several minutes and thus enable you to sneak past your enemies unnoticed. You have no skills available tho but you can mine when encountering veins.
The first one is to the right instead of left at the start when portaling in. The next one is after the first part. Before you go to the right down the tunnel and up the well. Its in the corner, you need to climb a bit first. the next ones I have not discovered yet.
I agree with you on both, like many others.
I d like to say that I often loose track of my mouse in hectic fights and end up casting aoe on walls and other locations most unlikely to be visited by my assaulters/victims in the next couple of seconds.
It would be handy to have an option to have a different/bigger icon, or a mouse trail or a make icon blink button.
I hate to think that i am visually impaired but with all this pretty effects, patricles and whatnot its easy to loose track of a little golden arrow.
ANET REPLY REQUIRED
This should do the trick to get what you want
Don’t forget to hold your breath while waiting!
They have continually fixed all broken skill points. I have 100% world map completion anyways so I figure its all good.
For all zones that i did not get to complete because of a bug I used some highly specialized tools to help me remember: pen and paper!
I think you have the definition of a game wrong. All you talk about is about being reward for doing things. If you don’t like playing this game for …wait for it… the fun of it.
Why do I jumping puzzles? Because of the achievement? Yeah i guess also. The chest at the end? I guess that is a nice surplus. Or because of the fun of solving the puzzle? Yes, yes and ..Yes!
It seems you are really expecting loads of shinies in order to have fun. This game seems more about having fun then earning rewards for every little thing you do and seems special to you.
This is not a game in progress for the reasons you think it is. There will be no end-game content like raiding and such. If you want that go for another game.
I feel GW2 is about a whole different thing then your rush-to-max-lvl and then raid-till-you-drop routine.
There is no subscription and therefor no need to keep players active all the time. Time will tell how things will turn out but I hope they will not change their game formula for it because its fine as it is.
I font blame you for expecting rewards for everything you do because thats the way games with subscriptions keep you playing. This game is about having fun just for the fun of it. No strings attached. I hope you get to discover that!
I love the jumping puzzles and making those easier would ruin it for me. I did play several platform games before so I guess I get a sort of headstart when it comes to jumping etc.
Maybe it helps to think that all the dying, getting killed, having to restart and all else that stand between you and completion only contributes to the saviour of the well earned victory?
About the Spekk’s Lab puzzle. You get buffs which attunes you to the portal of the different parts of the puzzle. Each one lasts about 18 minutes or so.
Are you guildies really offended when you tell them not to disturb you? Do they follow your every move? I rarely check upon others what they are up to or what they are doing.
If guilds bother you for not representing but you want to stay with them you should tell them to respect your wishes.
Seems like common sense that when you befriend a stalker you put him on ignore asap
So that makes me the only that purchases items with hard earned cash only after a good nights rest? Just to avoid all the hassle of buying the wrong item.
Don’t you love to go for Orichalcum in Orr to be attacked by 3 mobs of selfhealing casters?
The idea behind including pvp objectives in the monthly achievement is so you would try it on. I am quite sure you dont like pvp due to other games you played and thats fair enough. WvW is different however. Sure it all comes down to killing other players and getting killed yourself.
Give it a shot and you’ll see its not that bad.
I get what you mean, the same kinda happended when I played Rift. Easy to group up during events but right after all would go about their own way again.
I guess it all starts by yourself: make clear to others you would like to join a group, ask for others to join in mapchat, make /s remarks to start up a conversation, …
There are plenty of possibilities but they require you to take initiative.
As i Guardian I have 2 things to add: we suck at range so I just keep melee weapons on me. This means that if spiders climb walls it will be hard for me to get it off it.
As melee I often just run in circles around the mobs while using my oh so greatsword to carve bas-reliefs of my latest adventures in its back. Works very often, takes time but gets the job done.
But I am all in for harder champions
I am not sure if people think of clicking +1 to show support for an idea or post. I see often people posting +1.
@Arenanet: It would be interesting to me to see how many people liked a certain post. Many other sites show how much people liked a certain post by clicking +1 or ‘like’ or whatever.
@fellow players: When I read a suggestion (I like this section the most on the forum to see what people think and desire) I like I click +1 and be done with, no need to post anything for me. I am just wondering if I am alone or if others do the same…
