Will Maclaine be there?
I’d love to chat with him!
Stronghold was great.
So much better than the same old conquest every time.
And there has been plenty of articles/videos covering how to play Stronghold.
What do you expect? Some kind of tutorial ingame? By that logic they should add tutorials for everything. Crafting, mystic forging, dungeons, conquest, WvW, everything!
No one is forcing you to play it.
Dreams indeed.
They already announced every major feature of HoT, which includes the Heart of Maguuma. Crystal desert will open when we have to deal with kralkatorrik, Far shiverpeaks with Jormag, etc.
Why does GW2 never have Easter Events?
It would be a nice chance to add some variety for a week to the game.
A simple event where you collect eggs through the world and exchange it for a type of skin or something is one thing that comes to mind, which shouldn’t be too much work to create. Would also be a good chance to bring back the bunny ears.
I understand that you’re busy with the expansion and all, but come on!
Atleast give us something next year!
Lol, you wouldn’t be able to play the game properly with a controller.
I can only imagine how terrible a player would be in PvP.
How are you gonna turn 180 degrees instantly with a joystick? (and prevent the camera from spinning at an extreme rate while doing so?)
Also not enough buttons for all the skills.
If you really want to play with a controller, xpadder is free.
I did this fight without even getting downed on the first try.
If you ran around for an hour not knowing what to do, i strongly suspect that the problem lies with you, and not the game mechanics.
Generally, refusing to add a feature because of the toxic minority is a bad argument. By that mentality, not adding text chat would be a great feature.
We both know those are two extremely different things. I can see why they don’t want to add dueling. Every MMO I’ve played that includes dueling, gets really frustrating for people who don’t WANT to duel. If people really want to duel, there’s groups that meet up in WvW and PvP for that.
Those issues could be solved with a simple solution.
Add an option to disable/enable duel requests.
Here’s a fanmade “remake” of the clip from the stream.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysGTJPsr_Cg
You obviously didn’t watch the stream.
They repeatedly said that the reason they’re not increasing level cap or adding new gear tiers is because it would make the current content obsolete.
So no. It’s not.
Tbh, i couldn’t care less about what it costs.
GW2 has given me a ton of hours of fun for a few lousy bucks, and i’d be glad to pay full price for even more of this stuff.
Maybe you could skip that nice dinner in that restaurant, and buy HoT instead.
I know i will.
Scarlet :O
Du-Du-Duuun!
Dark Knight?
What’s next, the joker?
If THIS is what people find challenging, then it’s no wonder why ANet keeps creating easy endgame content with little to no challenge.
I did this on my first attempt without dying. After going through all the paths, it’s pretty obvious what to do on the last boss..
I havent noticed a single lagspike?
Thanks, just had to ask just incase, as i’ve never seen it before.
I’ve been away from home for a few months now, and my only option is to play on a pretty cheap laptop with onboard GPU (Intel HD4000).
Since the last patch, my FPS has improved drastically.
I can run the game at medium settings, and get around 30-40 fps mostly (up to 60 in certain zones where i’m alone). In WvW and bossfights, it goes down to around 10-30 depending on population etc, but thats normal, and still better then pre-patch.
Isn’t it really weird that it got better for me?
Also, if the game is unplayable, i think it’s really time to upgrade your machine (or microwave or w/e you’re playing on) :P
No, that is the problem, the game run great without players. I have 60fps on medium if I am alone, even with a LOT of npc. But when there is more than 5 or 10 players I need to set graphics to LOWEST and still having an awful stuttering.
With 5 or 10 players i usually don’t notice a huge decrease in FPS.
It’s only in huge zergs the fps drops alot (for me).
Obviously the game requires more of your hardware with all that stuff to render etc.
Today when i opened the GW2 Launcher, AVG suddenly popped up saying there was 2 infected files, one of them being in the Guild Wars 2 Bin Folder.
(Screenshot Attached)
I haven’t used the machine since the last time i played, and i scan my PC on a regular basis with both AVG and Antimalware.
I immediately activated Mobile Authentication, just incase.
Is this anything i should be worried about?
I did a complete scan afterwards, and nothing was found.

The first MMO i played was Silkroad Online. It was released a few months before WoW if i remember correctly. That game had no instanced maps. The whole world was open, except between continents, there was a loading screen. Same with WoW.
Had no effect on lag or anything. So it shouldnt be impossible for ANet to implement this, but like others have mentioned.. it’s probably to reduce costs etc, and i guess instanced maps has its technical advantages. Also, im sure they have higher priorities right now.
There’s barely any challenge at all in that fight.
I had no idea what to expect when i entered that instance, yet i killed it within 5 minutes, felt pretty boring and way too easy.
Also, Liadri was pretty easy aswell.
Sounds like single-player games is more your style.
Many of us like the open-world side of the story, thats kinda why we play MMO’s.
Yeah, mobs are now able to join guilds.
Am i missing something?
Screw Lion’s Arch.
I’d rather wanna clean up kessex hills and make it the way it used to be.
It was the most beautiful map in the game, now ruined.
You guys are the minority.
Most people loved this new content.
If you don’t, there’s nothing stopping you from switching to another game.
Or you could take some time and actually learn how to jump properly.
It’s actually not hard. At all.
Love this new map. I hope we get alot more like this.
I don’t have my first legendary yet, BUT.. I find it alot easier to acquire gold now than before, so prices going up is just natural.
Legendary’s arent supposed to be easy to get, it will be more satisfying to finally have one when that time comes :P
I wasnt asking for a seventh piece of gear with stats, but what Stompy said.
@Rym: I’d love to create Heisenberg
Please allow us to wear a hat and glasses at the same time!
I’ve heard tons of other players asking for this aswell.
I would love to wear the gemshop sunglasses together with the Sailor’s Beanie or GuildWars Cap.
I realize that much of the Head Armor out there covers the whole face, or to a certain point where glasses wouldn’t be realistic. Is this why it’s not possible atm?
Isnt there a way around that? You could make an optional slot for cosmetic glasses that only works with certain helmets. Probably quite some work, but still..
Make it happen!
Maybe Ellen Kiel is actually mordremoth in disguise.
Even if the whole world was released in 1 patch, people would complain about something.
I’m using an old GTX560Ti, and i can run it on ultra with around 60fps.
It’s no different than other zones, and no.. Huge Zergs in WvW is far worse.
Don’t tell ANet to make crappy zones/graphics because you have a PC from the 90s.
Please..
With that in mind.. What happened to the blade shard vendor? Which was supposed to be here after the end of S1?

You’re welcome.
If you lose target, just press tab.
Problem solved.
The Blizzard development team size for WoW as of 2009 was around 900 (excluding customer support and billing) anets size is tiny compared to blizzard and blizzard spitfires expansins BUT each expansion has still taken them a while to develop so a team of 350 vs a team of over 900… I have no clue why people try to compare the games
Where did you get these numbers?
People would still ask for a rollback of their account, due to the gold/items lost etc, which makes it kinda pointless.
Uhm..
I think we’ve all seen that by now?
Allow players the OPTION to purchase a Legendary for 1000 Skill Points (give or take however many skill points to keep it balanced).
Another way would be to purchase a Legendary Weapon by completing 10,000 or 20,000 Achievement Points.
Actually can buy legendary weapons with skill points. Right now. No features or patches needed. Pull up your link to Egg Baron’s material promotion spreadsheet, and start promoting materials for profit. A quick glance suggests skill points are currently worth about half a gold, so it’ll take you roughly 8000 skill points to buy Eternity, around 6000 for Bolt, 4000 for Kudzu.
As an added bonus, your idea to put skill points in the wallet is entirely superfluous. Any character can promote materials with just a single skill point, contributing to the eventual purchase of a legendary weapon of your choice.
Now, for achievement points, the first 10000 points gets you about 240 gold (gold reward, plus selling gems and T6 mats from laurel rewards). This change effectively increases this to 4000 gold. Well, for the few thousand players who make it to the trading post before the market crashes (and possibly the server, too). Blackgate alone would put more than 1000 new legendary weapons on the trading post, which increases the supply by around 600%.
If this second suggestion were to be implemented, legendary weapons wouldn’t be, because everyone really would have one. Or two. Or three. And then the precursor market crashes because no one is crafting legendary weapons, which screws the rare and exotic market because no one is crafting precursors, and well, if for some reason you thought the game economy was wonky now…
The only way I could see this happening is if ANet is about to EoL the game. “You get a legendary, and you get a legendary, everybody gets a legendary!”
I can only find the outdated version of Eggbaron’s Spreadsheet.
Could you throw me a link?
This debate has been going on since before launch.
On one side, there’s open-world raids, such as: Tequatl, Wurm, etc.
On the other side, there’s instanced dungeons, such as Fractals.
Anet countered the zerg mechanics, by changing Tequatl, and giving us Wurm. The big problem though, is, that it requires coordination on the spot, with a timer counting down.
Trying to get people to organize with a timer, without voice chat, without leaders, is almost impossible. Wurm, Tequatl, Boss Blitz prove this. Sure, it can be done, and it has been done, but this isn’t the norm.
All they have to do is get rid of the timer, and it would be much more enjoyable, and it would give the unorganized public a fighting chance to organize.
Where’s the fun in that?
There wouldn’t be any challenge left for those who actually likes that.
I’ve probably only opened around 200 chances in total.
Last night i thought i’d just use my remaining 50 tickets before the event ends, and what’ya know.. BOOM! Chaos Of lyssa
When you get a skin, you can use it once to replace the looks of your armor.
If you get a new piece of armor and want the skin on that armor aswell, you can do so by going to the wardrobe. This will cost you 1 transmutation charge.
I highly doubt it.
The least they could do is to send my a message as to why they did it then..
Anyway, thanks for the answers, guess i’ll open a ticket
If you go into “My Account” on this website, you can check which IP’s has logged into your account. It should say which country the IP is from aswell, so if you see something odd there, you would know instantly if you’ve been hacked.
My forum name has always been Fugdup, not Ugdup.
Why did the F suddenly disappear earlier today?
Did any of the mods have a good reason to change it?
Could it be a bug?
Really curious to what has happened here.
Why would it be instanced? lol..
I’m amazed how you come up with speculations like these.
Is there any other map in the game that is instanced? (lol, other than claw island)
Also.. you want better rewards than Orr?
Orr is a great place to farm. Tons of loot bags from a sick amount of mobs, and all the group events. I’d be happy if we could do the same in Maguuma for a change.
Guild Wars is a game that requires a mouse and a keyboard to be played properly.
It wouldn’t work on console.
Yes, and then we have Deathwing make a cameo appearance.
Primordus vs Deathwing.
I’d pay big money to see that.
Crystal Desert, here we come!
“The Crystal Desert is a GRASSY region south of the Blazeridge Mountains.” – From the wiki.
So the desert you see in the trailer is Maguuma Wastes (Parts of the Maguuma Jungle is dried out).
Alot has changed since Gw1
