DPS tester proves it

Dps on zerker.

It should be avoided to use “all boons” when you have trait which gives damage per boon (bountiful hunter). The same is with revenant for example.

DPS is still very low on power ranger.
1. You don’t have druid so you pretty much in raid/party setup a “dps” like daredevil (so selfish)
2. Pure dps classes like tempest/daredevil have at least 27k dps in the same setup.
3. Autoattacking revenant has around 19k…
4. PS warr has around 18-19k
5. Hammer guardian can reach around 24k.

My setup for power ranger (with druid) and s/w + longbow got around 14k dps. Changing warhorn to axe could boost it maybe but still dps isn’t very high on druid.

fps drop after nvidia driver update

My spec:
i5
nvidia 670 gtx

Game in general works perfectly fine on drivers 362.0
Any update including latest one (364) in negative way impact fps in gw 2. In other games I haven’t seen any difference.

Generally average fps is pretty much the same but there are huge fps drops which I can make “on demand”.
1. Going underwater for example in swampland fractal. Huge fps drop on newer driver, normal fps on older ones.
2. Herald Facet of Chaos -> Chaotic Release. On 362 chaotic release works perfectly fine without any fps drop.
On every other newer version it makes huge fps drop to like 10 when this dragon animation is happening.

Any idea / solution for this problem? I don’t want to ignore driver updates (because it’s like third with this problem) just because of one game.

My gw 2 settings:
Animation: High
High res character textures
Effect Lod
Rander sampling: native
everything else is just low or none. full hd windowed bordeless resolution.

I’ve tested best performance settings on newer drivers but that does not helped with problem at all.

Dredge Fractal Fixed

Dredge are just cheap.
Immu to blind → quite a lot of CC in pve is based on it → it sucks.
perma protection
perma regen
dazing mobs
hard hitting ranged mobs
shockwaves which from last part I can’t reflect with WoR.

+ there are hundreds of them always.

Button event is stupid. This game does not have aggro managment skills, so how on earth we should really do it? How on earth can I force those tunneling mobs go elsewhere and not attack this player on gate?
Get thief/mesmer/ stealth? Really? So now we have content which requires stealth?
Anet guys can’t even show this to us. Why? Because they suck in their own game badly. They have dev pillow for that type of content.

Sad part? This event will die soon.

Karka Queen has been dead for 4 months. I wouldn’t get your hopes up. They are already working on the next content update. No time to reflect and refine with this 2 week schedule.

Karka Queen is done at least twice a day on Seafarer’s Rest. Get your server in gear!

It does not matter at all. It’s still dead event on unfriendly map with annoying as hell pre events.

If anet change other bosses and make hard like tequatl it just kill all of them and ppl just get back to champion farming. Open world pve content was always made for casual players. IMO it should stay that way. Tequatl event instead of fun content made ppl hate each other. Impact on community is just bad.

For me it’s always looks the same. I’m using wp → end up in overflow, after 2 minutes I see that it will fail.
Open world content is a open world content. Open world players, majority of them just wander around leveling toons, gathering onions and exploring a map. Most of them haven’t been in any dungeon. Most of them has problems with dodging and their own class skills. They even does not read this forum or any other “guides” for any content.
Most of players are just casual. And they just don’t care really about this event at all. For them running around is fun. Soloing some vet on map is a “challenge”.

Thats why for me this event is just stupid. Claw event was stupid because it was too long (and now it’s even more annoying) but tequatl is just stupid. How can I force dead ppl to ress on wp and run to fight? How can I force ppl to use turrets in proper way? How can I even force ppl to dps tequatl as high as possible? In guild challenge I can just explain it with voice com or just kick some noob from guild. In dungeon I can explain or kick that noob. What can I do here?

For me it’s bad design. Open world should stay as casual place for happy exploring with group events which in most cases could be done solo. Make it some guild challenge or raid for group. If anet stay on this road and revamp other bosses in same way they just kill open world bosses fights at all. Why?
Because for now when I see for example shatterer timer show up I have 99.99% chance that I get a reward from it. It does not really matter what hour it is, how many ppl are playing. Boss will get killed.
With tequatl I have maybe 1% and only because ppl are now hyped and want gear and achivments. After some time it will be dead as karka queen (so done maybe once a day at most). Open world bosses are ONLY there for drop. If chance to get drop is lowered, ppl just ignore those events and start doing something else.

Still fight is quite fun but it should be change to some instances fight. Open world just does not work well with coordination and skilled players. This type of content only makes ppl frustrated.

Trash mobs = good. Still elems dealing 15k damage with scepter air 1? I want that on my ele.

Mechanic with cannons and aoe in which boss should stay to get debuffed – great
Pistol teleport is quite…strange. She aim in one direction and then just teleport to another. Quite idiotic
Cannon barrage phase. What sane man/woman made it? Anti fun. 2 minutes or probably even more x 3 times avoiding some stupid red circles in random places. They overlap each other.
Phase is way way way too long. It should 30 sec at max.
I don’t know if there is some safe “exploited” spot for this part but for now I really want this. Random aoes aren’t fun, they aren’t testing our skills. They are just random and tests our luck.

We’re aware that Kiel is still getting stuck and are working on it. In the meantime, you can work around the problem by making sure that at least one member of your party gets inside the area and engages the mob before Kiel does.

Why on earth you still making dungeons in which npc do anything? Tell me just why?
Npc should just talk and be useless. Always.

Kiel get stucked after jumping. Shie died from some bleeds and than just stucked.
Time wasted, eh.

Dungeon build - to pet, or not to pet?

My ranger uses full zerk gear.
10/10/5/15/30 build.
healing spring, most of the time signet of stone and this with regen + sick’em.
greatsword / sword + warhorn. Bows sucks, period.
Jaguar + river drake most of the time, jaguar as main pet.

I’ve done with this setup all paths on coe, hotw, se p1, p3, cof p1 p2, some arah p3, molten, twilight all paths and ascalon all paths. Pet died maybe 3 times (molten mostly)
Jaguar for bosses, on trash you use drake because of drakes cleave and aoe. Main weapon is a greatsword, you switch to a sword when nothing targets you.
I don’t have problem with pet staying alive. Changed ai with pets going on boss “back” works greatly, 30 in bm + at least 3 sources of regen makes even cat quite hard to kill.
You need to only really watch your jaguar. Drake is just a tank, he need to stand in aoe for ages to really die.

Bombs are melee kit. Tool kit is a melee kit, even FT is close range. Nades has 1500 range but are probably even better in melee (because of travel time).
So why on earth we need some weapon, melee weapon? We lack “ranged” combat really because basic weapons (rifle, pistol) sucks and only nades (so lack of choice for ranged combat) deal good damage.

Probably because of gw2lfg.com. It works. Its maybe temporary solution but in Poland we love to say that “prowizorki trwaj? najd?u?ej” – provisional solution last longest.

What they could do with it its just host it on gw servers, add some maybe ingame addon to it or whatever like we have with wiki (/wiki command) but it probably has very low priority because gw2lfg works.

Rangers are not allowed in speed runs...

now I’m testing 10/25/5/30/0 “max dps” build. Trying to learn how to use and how really usefull frost spirit in different dungeons can be. But for now this build is just theorycraft “good” on paper thing, managing spirit is just too annoying.
Still damage from ranger alone is very high.

I like also 0/0/25/15/30 build, tanky style, played it alot. But probably I will end up with something like 10/10/5/15/30 because I just love pets with 30 bm and in this build I loose 5% flat + 10% on flanking but can use jaguar in any scenario with great damage buff from traits and shared boons.

Rangers are not allowed in speed runs...

This is what someone said to me when I wanted to join his dungeon.

Do all people think rangers are a dead weight in dungeons? With shortbow I spam 1.5k crits and that will be even higher when I get better gear…

warrior spam 4,5k crits with his axe autoattack and it’s only his autoattack. probably thats why.

99% of rangers uses bows. bows sucks. ranged damage will be always lower than melee, and in normal dungeons you can melee 100% of the time.
Thats why another longbow/shortbow ranger with bear makes everybody sad.

Change build, change traits, change skills. Use sword, greatsword. Applie some boons, do whatever to boost party, use pets, change them sometimes.
Not just sit on kitten from 1500 range and deal some funny damage with you bow. 10k rapidfire is not “high damage” for 5 seconds channel, its just 2k dps for the god sake.

I like my ranger. I constatly trying to find best build for her. I’ve started with bows, than gs tank, now full dps sword/greatsword. I’m not planning to use bow ever again, boring, useless, not fun.

PS to ranged damage
my engi with nades deals around 1k damage (crit) per nade on 1st skill, (so 3k) + vuln + bleed + 2nd 4nd and f skill hits way way harder.
1500 range, aoe 5 targets. Beat it with you bow.

I just don’t “get” this build at all. Why you need 30 points in nature magic. I can understand 15 points to buff pet damage, but 30? 2 traits for spirit and some power from vit. It maybe gives “more” damage in theory but IMO just plain sucks in reality.
I don’t know, this build is just IMO suboptimal for normal gameplay and made only for theory crafting. Every 10 points in bm gives 100 to every pet stat. It makes them just plain better.
some 10/20/5/15/20 IMO looks way better for normal gameplay.

Also in “cof reallity” there are some problems.
Firstly,
first champion dies in about 10? seconds? So it’s not the substain damage race, but burst damage. Warrior can whirl, 100lb, evi etc. Big numbers. You just can’t beat it with some autoattack dps. His only 3 skills are worth around you damage in 10 second (if you can manage this “maxed” one, add 100lb, whirl, evi damage, only those skills.).
Second is last boss.
You need great mesmer there who will reflect every attack. We all know how dodging sucks with 1h sword. Your spirit will die in 3 seconds there so his buff is just wasted. It’s the only part in which dps does matter (instead of just plain burst) and in this part your main party utility is just dead and you need to be lucky to just don’t get launched by some crystal. 2 traits are wasted. Tell me why 30 in nature magic? Still don’t get it. In which dungeon you can really use this spirit? Aside from probably trash mobs which can be controlled, don’t cast some aoe (still I don’t need 30 in nature magic to just swap to spirit in this scenario…)

Mist form is imo main problem with eles.
I don’t have problem with getting them down. All those bunker d/d eles have quite low damage. They need to stay close to me and in this scenario i can just use sword as mesmer.
In group fights I still tend to ignore elems.
Why?
Because you really can’t killed them. Not because of heal, toughness or whatever. Because of mist form. One in utility, second in down state. Every elem will just mist to his mates, they will res him and it start all over. That’s why his friends need to be killed first.
Still most ppl on wvwvw have problem with tactical thinking and they just love to chase misted elem all over the place.

For wvwvw my main is mesmer. Rangers (those “great” zerk rangers with bows) was just free frag for me always, before and after nerf. I had only problems with melee oriented based on some annoying pet rangers, (cats etc) not those bowmans.
You see ranger. Step back, all damage wasted. You see ranger, cast feedback, ranger killed himself. You see ranger, cast iwarden, burst wasted. You see ranger, just blink, pull him to you and kill with sword. Free frag always. I need to be blind to die because of some bowman.

Epic DE. Go from point A to point B using autoattack on way to tagg mobs (because difficulty level = -1000000). After some time, 20 minutes/1h hour, whatever the same guy start this from point A to point B event.
Sometimes we need to defend something! Great!. Sleep with autoattack on for x minutes. You have saved the world!
After xx times the same event kicks in. Oh you failed. Don’t worry, wait couple of minutes for event which take place back…
There is nothing dynamic in dynamic events. Chain quests which are mostly triggered by game itself (yeah great timers). Its all around fail or win, if chain failed it start from scrap, if chain is done, defend events starts. If failed chain events starts from scrap. Dynamic as dinner table.
All those group events which I can solo with any class.
No no no.

Why even mention the mesmers ? guardians are enough to support a group for melee stacking behind line of sight and killing everything that’s pulled.

Champion dredge part when clearing trash on “wall”? WoR mostly suck here, but still there are only 5 or 6 mobs per wave without veterans, so this party is easy.
Clearing on way to gate event maybe, but still its one time event, not that hard. Hard part is opening door event (with buttons) because fail = fail and do it again. What’s you role as warrior in this part?

13k per target whirl or something similar. 100b depends on build, probably 26k at least. still it all depends on luck, vuln, might and whatever. You can use this whirl for max damage maybe couple of times in those fractals, on dredge, hammer, asura with good pulling. yeah it makes huge difference.
axe as second weapon, great, 13k evi, great autoattack for around 3,5k. tell on which bosses you can go full melee?

Guardian isn’t that “OP” underwater and mostly, both weapons just do only flashy effects instead of damage. Still because of high armor on my guard I get aggro and focus mostly on avoiding 10 poison aoe on me.
As mesmer It’s fun part, just use 2 spear skill and fly in any direction like mad

Videos with krait show everything I needed to know about you melee in high level fractal. Endure pain. After it, well just 700 hp and speargun in hand.

Engi is 10x times better here because of aoe, vuln, condition and high damage. Also you should see what engi do with jelly there, it’s just brutal. Can’t compare even your spear (which still is probably best offensive melee underwater weapon across all classes)

I had mostly good parties on fotm but still don’t see this warrior opness at all. Yes guardian makes fotm easy, yes mesmer makes fotm easy, yes 99% of rangers are useless, but still don’t know about this “heavy” only hype for fotm. It looks like warrior is just miles ahead from other “dps” classes for fotm but imo it’s just not true. DPS on easy part just plain does not matter, and ranged warrior weapons aren’t op at all and just makes him meh guy shouting something from time to time.

I like to see at fotm from practical point and always be prepared for hardest parts, not for those easier. Most runs start from swamp/water/ascalon. In swamp engi is better (bloomhunger can be nuked behind the tree with 100% dps, warrior here need to be god in melee or kite with ranged). On mossman both classes sucks, because he moves much and probably meleeing him isn’t best option with his OP ninja attacks from hidden.
On water engi is miles ahead from warrior. On ascalon equal on trash mobs, engi better for boss (damage) but lacks great elite banner, he moves not that much, engi has better condi removal , regen to bypass burn damage, quite handy.
Next we have 2 other fractals. Probably on on hammer one warrior offer better dps, because here we need kill fast someone, not all of them, but on boss, engi wins, he stands most of the time, long range to avoid aoe and just nuke him down.
Dredge is just mostly 3 target aoe vs 5 target aoe. Engi applies more vuln, which helps a lot, bleed bypass protection, engi even have fancy break stuns and reflection for some utility there, warrior higher burst, elite banner. On champion engi can just stand and nuke. On final boss all depends how engi is good with aiming, if good he can outdps any other class in ranged. (and can use immobilze with rifle and chill with nades)
Grawls, girl event warior is better, probably, higher burst, champion engi, boss stands still all the time. Final boss, engi can nuke elementals from across the map without help, great break stuns, regen, condi removal. Warrior to kill adds fast needs to use melee = more risk. Damage vs boss does not matter, we all know that sometimes its better to stop dps and wait for some cds.
Ice fractal.
Damage vs this ice elemental thing on nades is quite impressive, with 1500 range you can just nuke from roof. Without changing position much engi can nuke veterans from distance. (they stand still, so max damage). Warrior need to dance in melee and avoid all those aoe, attacks, knobacks. So hard to use 100% of his potential.
Last boss, probably warrior wins, if its matter at all.
This is my opinion about it. IMO best party for fotm is guard/mes/warr/eng/whatever. I just don’t get this hype around warrior for fotm (and why some ppl want 2 or 3 of them) if most of the time they just stay on rifle and does not look that OP. Warrior need to be high skilled and really experienced to be good on fotm, still it does not make him OP or whatever and what is is more important warrior in party does not = auto win as ppl think.

Oh, really ? here is a list of situations where I go full melee gs + axe/mace or axe/shield :

underground facility, dredge trash, stack behind something, pull them through line of sight, quick burst.
trash spawning around the ice elemental in snowblind, have a guardian use greatsword pull and melee cleave that stuff down fast.
the whole ascalon fractal trash, except when dealing with the group of mage (only aggro them as your last group).
cat golem mid boss, and the 4 cat golems with the asura in uncategorized. Have a guardian use shield of the avenger for the first one and you can burst him in melee really, really quickly. (poison room golem)
volcanic, bursting down the groups of grawls, and bursting the veteran shamans.
melee bursting the krait in aquatic ruins.
melee burst all the cultists in cliffside.

Also, I don’t see anything wrong with ranged weapons on war for some fights. The bow has an immobilize, a blast finisher, a fire field and deals decent damage. It’s not any worse than being a ranged guardian with scepter. I use both the immobilize on both the bow and bolas for the dredge mining suit or elemental. If you find the bow meh I want to hear what you think about the scepter.

And then there are a few perks for some boss fight that comes with being a warrior, like the elite banner rezzing the npc to burst the end boss faster after they died in ascalon.

thx for answer but you probably think that “all” fractals are hard, but its not true.

True is that on dredge fractal without feedback you really can’t melee anything there. Ravebrant or whatever this blind rifleman is called will probably kill you in 4 shots (normal one, not the veteran), and on 30+ there are 10 of them at once + those other annoying bombers, stunners etc etc.
Only with feedback or iWarden on targets you can really take them down, without you will die or need to use endure pain, burst every 90 s isnt that good. Still yes cleave damage here is usefull.

Ice fractal is easy, it can be wipe rushed, still but to damage on those vets you need either thinking guardian or thinking mesmer, hard to melee them when they hit with basic attack for something like 5k. Without those utilities from those classes you can just play as rifleman there in my opinion. On final boss nothing does matter, this boss is afk “i will make some dinner” boring guy, it can be soloed with 2 level guy…

Ascalon you say, still imo our vets makes 90% of dps there, some additional cleave is maybe helpfull buy it won’t make big difference. And it’s easy fractal, vets do 90% of work.
On final boss you need to use ranged weapon, probably rifle for better range.

Yes there are part in other fractals where some aoe damage makes big difference. Still warrior can hit 3 targets mostly, not 5, and because of it in those massive aoe scenario some engi with nades will be just better.
I don’t know, ppl just tend to make warrior OP in every scenario and handy always, but IMO in terms of high level fotm, grenade engi brings better dps on table. Stable ranged dps with massive vulne stacks, bleed damage, 5 target aoe. Still it’s my personall opinion. Maybe I’m blind and just don’t see this fotm warrior OPness, I don’t know.

PS.
You really can melee kraits on some 30+? They hit like truck and love to stack this aoe poison which just kicks kitten
Still engi can just throw grenades here.
And on final boss engi can just throw nades dealing massive damage, warrior with speargun? We all know how it works.

Only my guardian can use tanky gear, because of skills and trait. High armor gives high aggro, on guardian it’s good, lots of heal and utility to survive punishment for some quite long time, so the party can just focus on dps. High armor on other class? Bad idea, you will be chased by all those mobs there and just die.
Probably one of the warriors nightmare is to be the only “heavy” in group (but still as zerker in zerker group) Most mobs will target this warrior and it will be painfull.

Still i don’t get that hype with all those great warriors in high level fotm. I really can’t see any hard fractal in which warrior can really use his dps melee potential. And warrior with rifle or bow is just meh.

I like the idea of account bound stories (so bound with achievments). Got 8 toons, use them all, I have problem which toons has which story made, I really like to fit with my class to a party to make it better.

Main problem with cof 1 is just that it’s too short because you need to kill literally 1 champion and one boss, 2 silver mobs and couple of normal mobs (acolytes).
Probably making bridge event mandatory would help a lot (because now nobody do it). Gate event imo has balance issue. It was made for normal party but for warriors and thieves with good setup it’s just too easy to burst it down in couple of seconds. This make all this “survive” part just a joke.

It all depends what anet think about dungeons and whats should be the clear time for them. First champion in p1 could be made harder. Maybe give him quickness at start, to counter those push on wall and burst down tactic. Gate event should be imo redesigned, for now its too simple when we have gate specialist and quite hard when some other classes are trying to do it. Maybe they should change it to some “hack” event focused on survival not on gate burst.

defensive gear does matter on fotm. dps does not matter because in hard parts it does not matter at all.
Where you really need high dps? On which fractal? You still need to kite mobs on dredge door event (and glassy zerk class just can’t do it at all). You kill dredge on champion faster? It does not matter they spawn with time, it still take ages. And zerk class will probably fail with melee on champion because of his normal mace attack for 8k on them…
You need dps on shaman fractal? For what? You need dodge there and reflect, sometimes you even need to stop dps to ress someone or to wait for CD on some skills and heals.

Other fotm are easy in any setup. It does not matter how fast I will kill ice fractal last boss. It’s afk boss great for salvaging items in my bags. Does high dps makes asura fractal easier? Maybe, but it still does not matter, it’s still doable with any setup.

We need to be ready for hardest parts, not for easiest ones. High dps is handy on dredge fractal but probably thief with stealth will make it way way more easier than some zerk warrior. I will choose mesmer over warrior on this fractal always, boon thievery + stripping + best reflect make mesmer just OP in this fractal.

Let’s face it. Most zerk warriors in fotm are useless. Sometimes high toughness class is usefull to get agro and kite mobs in many events. Sometimes CC is more important than raw damage. 99% of warriors on fotm use rifle or bow most of the time. Nobody will tell me that they have “great” dps with those weapons.

path 1 has zero dredge at all. Inquest + golems.

path 2 is long, nobody will do it

path 3 you need to kill 4 dredge. add 6 more if you don’t like skipping everyting.
Also path 1 and path 3 has waypoints everywhere now, its great dungeon for leveling.

While I’ll agree with needing sword mainhand, cat pets, and utilizing traps thanks to the changes recently, 2 points bug me.

Drakes are unreliable. The blast finisher isn’t on demand and has a substantially large cooldown, not worth counting on.

Shortbow dps beats out Greatsword dps on a single target or targets that can be stacked for piercing arrows. Greatsword is just horrible damage period. The evade is wonderous, but the damage leaves much to be desired.

That said, Ranger can’t even see the damage pedestal Warriors sit upon in dungeons. If you want to have an easy time finding dungeon groups for any dungeon, rolling a Warrior, Guardian, or Mesmer is your best bet (then learn to play the class of your choice competently please).

drake pets use blast as soon as they can and right after swapping them. Cast field→change pet →blast finisher.

With right setup you can have 3 best fields in game (water, fire and ice). Combine it with 2 blasts and probably 2 leaps (sword and gs got one).

Could grenades please get a target toggle?

99% of those “zerk exotic” warriors just plain sucks and can’t even maintain full dps and just autoattack with gs most of the time like idiots.
As ranger to get highest dps you probably need 1h sword, 2 cats as pets. Avoid bows, dps is just plain bad, I have better dps on greatsword…

Look also for traps, you can make with them some ice fields and fire fields. With the new changes to fire and frost shield it makes them very usefull. Remeber that you have leap finishers and drakes have blast ones.

Boss is just a boss, on 38 like on 10, just fire elementals hits harder.

Except there is a LOT more of em, really… If I AOE em, I may survive their focussed damage, if the boss not hit me too… If I am lucky I can rally a few times…
Boss hits with arrow about 10-12k HP to a clothie, agony not really counts (for me)… I cannot evade everything and the boss seems adjusted to not miss so much nowadays…
Maybe a PUG is not really good in this, maybe some just hide in this phase :s my fault, but I do fractals with one friend of me and 3 pickups, and it’s a real pain sometimes, but this is what we got…
And if someone say skip, usually I kick/quit, because I think skipping is not a way of play (maybe some CD on fractal lobby’s teleport should do the trick, 5-10 minute would kill those nasty skippers)
One sure thing: This event has a really tough scaling compared to the other fractals (level 30+)…

yes there are plenty of them but main problem is that ppl don’t think and use good skills in not good time.

Using WoR as guardian when we have only boss and all in party are alive is just waste of cd. Save it to bubble phase and use it to block elementals.
As mesmer with feedback you can even make it a lot better. Bubble, use iberserk + two clones from dodge → cast feedback on boss → change to sword focus, start to melee boss with frenzy → bubble should be off now, elem shoot at themselves.
No blink back, cast some iwarden and 4rd skill to block elementals and start clearing them.
Those two classes have great tools for this fight. As warrior all you need to do is melee elems to death. If its impossible, just use bow, it has great aoe. Using rifle on this fight imo = kick

Elem or ranger with trap should always chill boss in bubble. Chilled boss does not move at all (or move so slowly that it does not matter).

Still you need as any class, even mesmer with tons of reflect, learn how to dodge arrows. If you want to avoid them by block/reflect all the time you need not pug group with specific class choice and probably some voice communication.

mesmer is way better on this fight than guardian.

ppl just fail in avoiding arrows, than fail with bubble destroying.

For me personally on level 38 events with girls and shaman is harder than final boss. Event is more like CC + dps check and sometimes party does not have enough dps. Boss is just a boss, on 38 like on 10, just fire elementals hits harder.

CM is just plain broken and doing it is just plain waste of time.
Too much trash mobs with bombs, rifles, fear, blowout, evade and healing. Too long , poor reward (crap from drop and 0% chance for cores/lodestones) and gear with condition damage…
Arah need redesign. It’s all around put some fun events and bosses and fill empy space with bilion of hard hitting, annoying and with massive hp pool zombies. You can clear them and spend in dungeon 2h or just run for you live and do it in 30 min…Map is just huge and for me all arah paths are mostly made around trash skipping.
SE path 1 and 3 are fine, probably path 3 need more love, because carrier event is just stupid. What sane man/woman made it have so much hp? Thats why all just shoot at it from some box…
Path 1 is fine. Path 2 is not fine, it’s way too long. Dungeons should be mare around 30 min per path, not 1h+ like path 2 in SE, it need to me faster.
TA is fine but annoying because of trash mobs. I don’t like dungeon where trash is harder than all bosses.
New ascalon is quite fun, I like mobs hp nerf, still buffing Kohler where we all know that 99% ppl just skip him is just bad idea…New bosses are quite fun, still on rumblus this “AI dependent” aspect good be annoying.
What I don’t like is path 1 defending guy event. They changed something in agro system and now mobs just attack npc on sight.
COE is fine, my favourite dungeon in game

I’m concerned about fractals.
We have new ascended gear, so probably 10 more AR to get (45 max), this will make fotm 40-49 more doable in normal way and make 30-39 with full resist.

My main problem is difficulty curve on fotm. IMO bosses on 20+ and 30+ are just the same, I don’t see any difference, but trash mobs on way…omg they are way way harder.
It makes fractals like dredge very very hard and long not because of fancy hard boss but because of hundreds of mobs on way, all of them hits like truck, got protection for ages, stuns, dazes and even have aoe. On the other side we have swamp fractal without any adds at all which for me it’s the same on level 38 as on level 10. Why higher level just mostly = more mobs, more vets, higher level mobs. Should fractals be made around dealing with annoying, overpowered mobs?

I don’t like direction in which fotm as a whole goes.
It’s strange that the higher level you do the more problem with trash mobs you have. on 30+ it’s just a chore to kill those hundreds dredges who has protection for forever and hits like truck. When you at last get to final boss you are just happy because now it’s the easy part.
Hammer fractal, the same problem. Boss which is just like boss, nothing new, kit him do death. But vets on seals, omg hits like truck. Ascalon the same, let our vet kill those vets because this warrior over there can kill my full tanky guardian in 2 swings….

I have knight + soldier guardian with around 3,4k armor on fractals base. On 30+ fotm I can stand there on button with protection and all those buffs maybe for 10 seconds (elite invu make it so long mostly)
I can block shooting dredges, yes, but not those with shocking wave and not those who jump from the floor on me with knockdown. I cant dodge them (it will interupt console).
If someone got some video, how to really defend this event on 30+ and stay alive on buttons without stealth etc I really want to see it.

Because getting rid of options and making the game more cookiee cutter then it already is, is a good thing!

Whats so clever in making full (and full in 100%) glass cannon, stack some precision and use fast weapons? Glass cannon build should be for ppl with great skill, not for everyone with food.

It was just funny how warrior can heal from 20% hp to 100% with one stupid whirling axe. Healing surge heals for less…

But still don’t know which gear should I choose.
Rampager or berserker? the same with jewelry. I just need highest dps and it’s hard to really check which of them gives me more. Higher direct damage, or better condition damage (and more bleeds) with probably more mights from sigil.

Also I don’t really know which runes should I use. I’m thinking about 3×20% might duration combo to boost sigils but maybe there is some better choice for runes and sigils.

I find it mildly funny when people try to push the lifesteal into making something viable. I’m just waiting for those foods to be adjusted and ruin every single situation in which they’re necessary.

Do people not realize that they are the only consumable, chance on crit effects in the game that do not have an internal cooldown?

nests event is IMO harder than this event. 1 pure dps warrior is enough to kill assasins. And party have 5 ppl. So what’s the problem?
When we did it with my guildes “best” squad (3 warriors, guardian and ele) we were waiting for mobs to spawn. Party which could make “pre nerf” event properly can just faceroll this new one with closed eyes.

Engineer is my last alt to level up. All other 7 classes on 80 level, geared up, with different roles attached to them.
Engi is last and still after hours and hours of reading/mist testing/leveling I still don’t know how to build this class. Any kit in my opinion has some problems.

Let’s begin with weapons. They just does not matter. No dps. Rifle on long range is just autoattack with pierce with mediocore damage at best. Pistol is just pistol. “Let me stand here and pretend that I do anything at all” weapon.
Shield is fun, offhand pistol is imo useless.
But we all know that those weapons does not matter all.
So now kits.
Grenade.
I know it’s probably best dps kit for engi right now. 25 vulnerability + around 10 bleed stacks and high direct damage. Aoe on everything, got some chill and nice burst even.
But usability of this kit just plain sucks. Fast ground targeting does not help.
Why? It sucks. First I need to turn it off for other alts, second I can’t see my range, and aiming in most cases is something like “where the hell is my cursor right in this big flashy fight”
I could make autoattack macro easly. Even automated “whole” kit macro (use 2 if not use 4 if not use 1). With my mouse software I could do it in 5 minutes, but it’s probably not allowed and nobody from anet can’t even tell me what the hell is allowed in this department.
So no, grenade kit sucks for me. I want normal autoattack on it. I can use it “sometimes” but not all the time.

Bomb kit
fun but radius imo just sucks. Basic radius is just funny, you need to plant bomb on mobs heads. But it has autoattack. Good kit but with this radius (even traited) it’s just melee weapon. Being melee as glass cannon engi isn’t best choice imo, but still kit is usefull.

Elixir gun
It’s just rifle with heal, nothing special

FT
It’s fun weapon, with all this kill it with fire theme. There are some fun builds for it but main problem is that FT got too much bugs.
1st skill misses too much. I need to be more like turret to really use this kit. I don’t like standing in one place.
2nd skill has great damage, but why on earth it’s not skill in which typing 2 second time just detonates this napalm ball? For now range of 2nd skill just does not blend with 1st skill (on max 1st skill range you can use 2 and hit target with blast) but it’s just not so “fun” to think about it all the time.
As conslusion to ft i need to stand still, find sweet spot for 2nd skill to really use this kit in proper way. But in which scenario I can really do it? Kiting with FT just does not exist at all, it sucks, misses and annoys when moving.
Tool kit
fun utility and tool belt skill. But really? smacking mobs heads with tool? I got glass cannon axe/mace/axe warrior for “smacking” and “choping”…

I really need some advise how to build my engi (and deal with kits problems) from ppl who played engi more and probably had the same problem at some point of leveling/gearing.
Build should be viable for general pve (I need some good event class with good easy to use and fast aoe) and dungeons (but not fotm, got other alts for it). It does need to be dps, It can be some support engi also.

champion was there to guard rich ori, but AI isn’t that great and it was easy to just skip it.
Because of that ppl “farmed” ori. Anet don’t like farming. They nerfed it. Champion still there because nobody cares really. This map is still useless.

2 guardians have enough uptime of wall of reflection to just make them easy fights. Add some avenger shield and make it “funny”.
My guild fractal group is 2 guardians (my and my friend which also play a lot) + whatever.
Main problem with thieves on fractals are they strange builds. Full glass cannons with d/d and 11k hp are just useless most of the time. But this does not make whole class useless. The same problem is with warriors. Glass cannons zerk with gs and than you see them with rifle 50% of the time and 50% of the time with stone throwing.

Eles on the other side are imo great for fotm. They have reflect, aoe on staff helps with trash a lot, also they have nice damage vs this ice thing in one fractal.

This events is just annoying, not challenging. Smashing buttons for max dps on 5 dps classes with stacked stability isn’t that hard. Simin just stands still, “attack” with rather funny aoe attack and that’s all.
I had to change my guardian, which is just IMO perfect for arah to warrior for this fight because we need more dps. Still we need stability because my warrior got turned into stone every stupid 7 seconds, which without stability would be rather annoying.

Path 4 is just waste of time. Many many bosses, which are just easy, done all of them for first time (only knew lupi from other paths) and all of them was just easy. Way too much trash on way, last boss (or rather stone) which just did nothing and simin which is just dps check. Annoying as hell dps check.
I really want to see this event with normal party, without 5 or 4 full dps classes.

I’ve made with my guildes “old” version in “proper” way several times (so just kill all those silver mobs). It was challenging, good dps with good surv was needed for it.
No we have encounter with a lot of trash common type mobs and maybe 1 or 2 silver ones per waves. There are some assasins which just walk towards magg and want to stab him, so they need to be killed first.
My first attempt to this was 3 warriors + guardian + ranger group. It was just easy, cleave and aoe everything.
2 warriors full zerg with gs, my knight + zerg with axe/mace + axe build, ranger with tanky gs build and support “soldier armor” guardian with gs on this fight. For me it’s just way easier than old version, probably some teams with low aoe damage could fail here but they probably would fail on old version too and would “kite” it.

All fractal thing is made around “not” having alts at all.
You need to farm levels for it. Going from 1 to whatever (50 60 80 does not matter) is a lot of time. You want alt? Ok farm it once more, get gear once more, waste time once more.
I would probably have one main “ascended” guardian on fotm with maxed gear. Other alts will be geared to max 10 ar (with droped rings) to play with my guildies and help them with fotm leveling.
