Problem: The Novices aren’t spawning during the final boss fight, prohibiting players from charging the hammer and breaking the seal.
We’re aware of the problem and are working on it. It does not effect 100% of the players. If you engage/agro the Novices before the boss takes the hammer back from you at the start, that seems to cause the issue when it does happen.
Meanwhile we have found a workaround while we try to resolve the problem with a patch. If the entire party wipes and restarts from the checkpoint, it could fix the problem.

Did the cinematic kick off where he explains what is going on? And then I believe he says a few lines afterwards. Did those happen?
I’ll be sure to try and get some eyes on this to see if they can reproduce it. If you can give us any more details that would be helpful. Did you fail the event once and then try again? Does the event start but he just refuses to take the bombs? If you fail/restart the event, does it fix it?
We wanted to give people that retro Guild Wars feeling, where there was no jumping.

With our recent update we fixed most of the issues with events in Straits of Devastation that prevented players from successfully taking the Temple of Balthazar. There is one outstanding issue we will address in a future – as it might look to players as being broken while it is not, I would like to explain what is happening:
• The bug occurs in the final event of the 3 meta events;
Escort the northern invasion Pact squad to the Pact rally point at Triumph Plaza.
Escort the central invasion Pact squad to the Pact rally point at Triumph Plaza.
Escort the southern invasion Pact squad to the Pact rally point at Triumph Plaza.
• When the bug occurs all of the NPCs in the Pact squad will bunch up on top of each other.
• The bug will correct itself once the NPCs engage a hostile creature that gets too close.
As you are all know, spawns in Orr are rather fast, so as long as you let the NPCs aggro a nearby creature, the event will continue.
We’re aware of the Cliffside issue and are trying to find a speedy resolution.

Our QA dept was aware of this problem, and had a bug on it. We were just unable to fix it in time for the patch.
Was looking for some kind of an update from Anet in regards to what they are planning on doing about the people who did not get credit for the lost shores event. I was on an overflow server, was never given the option to switch to my sever, was DC’d at the end of the event and when i logged back in immediately i was placed in a different overflow sever where the event had already been completed and i was not able to receive any rewards for it. As a paying customer of your game i would really appreciate some kind of a response and not just delete my post and hope i go away OR move it into the “archive” section that has not had any updates in several weeks

We figured out the issue and are working on a fix for this. I don’t think it’ll roll out for a bit, so hold off on that purchase attempt for a day or two, then you might find it works just fine.

the grawls that spawn during the grawl shaman stage (cant remember the name of the dungeon) will immediately teleport to the captives if you root them. happens every time without fail.

Apologies, this feature wasn’t suppose to go out in today’s patch. This was intended to come out with the next patch along with a UI drop down to change how you want team colors to work. The new default setting is WvW style coloring (enemy only has team colors), but you will also be able to make everyone, or nobody team-colored. There will also be UI changes to reinforce what team you’re currently on, so hold tight, apologies again!

Why you don’t fix the fact that on Fractals if someone dcs cannot re enter in Fractal?
We’ve got people working specifically on this issue, it has turned out to be much more complicated due to the way fractals are implemented than we hoped. We’ll have a fix for this soon as it’s tested enough we think it’s clearly solved and doesn’t cause any other issues.
We are at least a week and a half away on a fix for this, possibly longer depending on how long it takes to test it properly, we wouldn’t want to deploy anything that makes the issue worse!

Front door path: Fixed a bug that affected the aggro range of the Destroyer Specimen Boss.
Submarine path: Fixed a bug with Bjarl’s armor not going off when he charges and hits a tower.
Ascalonian Catacombs
Detha’s Path: Fixed a problem with Detha’s script where she would sometimes not start the event to fix the cannons.
Hodgin’s Path: Fixed a problem in Hodgin’s script at the “Collect scepter fragments” event that prevented the event from starting.
Detha’s path: Fixed a bug that caused the Ghostly Oozes not to use their basic attack properly, and spend a large amount of time loitering around players instead of attacking them.
Sorrow’s Embrace
Fixed multiple problematic doors would open and close when intended.
Twilight Arbor
Fixed a bug where Morrigu could die after defeating the final boss before the cinematic could start, which would break the dungeon and prevent players from receiving the final reward.
The Ruined City of Arah
Seer Path: Fixed an exploit where rangers using longbows could trivialize a fight by attacking at max range, and the Melandru boss would not fight back.
Fractals of the Mists
Cliffside: Fixed an issue where players could damage the final seal with their normal attacks.
Cliffside: Fixed an issue where players were able to attack and kill the first boss before triggering the cinematic.

We just had a patch get pushed through, so it wasn’t stealthy. Although we have been known to hotfix certain content if possible.

England, Scotland and Wales are all countries. The UK is a sovereign state of which these countries are part (along with Northern Ireland).

The United Kingdom is not a country. England, Scotland, and Wales are part of the United Kingdom, which also includes Northern Ireland. Great Britain — also not a separate country — consists of the countries of England, Scotland, and Wales but does not include Northern Ireland.
And the dominant/preponderant aggregate language in Belgium is French, even if Dutch/Flemish is the most common of the first languages for those who speak more than one. Since we do not localize to Dutch, I guess the assumption is that French is the more likely choice, even while we respect that other languages are spoken there.

Hi there Kino – For obvious reasons your thread caught my attention. As I have mentioned previously on some of the larger connectivity threads, these issues are best assisted one on one through a support ticket. It can be very difficult to diagnose and assist with connectivity issues as it often requires us to collect some a bit of diagnostic information that players may not want to post on the forums.
As I am neither a Developer or a Network Engineer I cannot pass along any information in regards to anything going on server side though when we do find there is an issue on our end, we find out pretty quick and you will essentially see the forums “blow up” in regards to this issue.
Shocking Aura was always 4 seconds, but was affected by Boon Duration (and had an incorrect tooltip). What we would usually see is that the aura lasted so long is because elementalists had put points into Arcana. On the other hand, it’s no longer able to be ripped off by boon removal abilities.
Hi Warborn – First, I’d like for you to try updating your DirectX. The game client requires the latest DirectX 9 components; this is true even if you have DirectX 10 or higher already installed. Please follow the instructions at Microsoft’s web site to install the newest DirectX 9 update:
Please be sure to save the file to your Windows desktop. Then create a new folder on the desktop and extract the DirectX files into it. Once they have been extracted open the new folder and use the DXsetup file to install DirectX.
If that doesn’t work then I would deleting the local.dat file and repairing the client (navigate to Documents\Guild Wars 2).
Unfortunately there isn’t one set “fix” that will resolve this issue as it does seem to vary from player to player depending on their individual setups and when exactlty they experience the black screen.
I can’t reproduce the issue, it worked fine when I just tried it. You talk to Romke in the open world, then go and enter the story instance. On entering, Trahearne walks in and a scene plays, then the story steps update and instruct to expore the cave.
What means of payment are you using? Credit card? PayPal?
Do you get an error message when you cannot purchase? If so, what is the message?

Hi Nayaru – What graphics card might you be using? While this is an unfortunate limitation of 32-bit operating systems, there are a couple of things that we can try and look into to resolve this though please understand that ultimately this issue may not be resolved due to this limitation.
I’m glad you have a ticket going. If there is ANY chance that your email has been breached, update your ticket to tell Support to contact you on the new address. They will be able to verify it’s you because you have access to the first account and can provide other details. If you keep the second email absolutely secure, then you can discuss password resets, etc., without worries that someone evil is reading those mails.

Hi Bald and Bold – I would like you to try the following to repair your Guild Wars 2 installation:
1. Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 installation folder.
2. Right-click on “GW2.exe” and select “Create Shortcut.”
3. Rename this shortcut to “Guild Wars 2 Repair.”
4. Right-click on this shortcut and select “Properties.”
5. Edit the “Target” line to include -repair at the end.
Note: Please make sure -repair is outside of the quotes
Correctly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe” -repair
Incorrectly Formatted Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\GW2.exe -repair”
6. Once completed, click “Ok” to save your changes.
If you get an error trying to save, your target line may not have the correct format. Please try step 5 again.
