Just a heads up for the past week or so, items have been selling and I have been getting the money for it, but on the “sold” tab, there’s nothing listed. If I didn’t know I had a black dye listed for a specific amount of gold (which I apparently sold), I’d never know what was sold … other items have sold but there’s no visual update on the sold tab, so no clue what’s been selling.
When you say there’s “nothing listed” do you mean your pick up tab is empty? If you have other items waiting to be picked up, your money may not appear until you clear it out (money is essentially treated as an item when your pick up tab is full; once you clear it, the backlog of gold and items you have will show up.

Hi Fribble – If you have any security software running you may have to configure or disable the software to allow you to connect to Guild Wars 2. You will also want to make sure that you have TCP ports 80, 443, 6112 and port 6600 fully unrestricted and accessible, both inbound and outbound.
I have not been able to buy or sell anything on the trading post in the past 3 weeks. Every time I try to buy something I get this message: “Sorry! Your order did not match any current listings. Please refresh and try again.” Is there anything I can do to fix this?

What this means is that the item you were trying to buy was already bought out at the price you selected. To get around this, you may want to complete your buy more quickly, or click the Refresh button before you submit your purchase. You could also try submitting buy orders at the price you want. This is not an instant sale, but if your price is good enough, a seller may choose to sell to you.
You can buy gem cards at major retailers. They will contain codes that you redeem to get your gems.
This has not been forgotten. The solution is coming down the pipeline and should be live this week.

I looked into this, and found the issue. The door that opens up to the next area with the bomb collection event opens up early – it opens during the scene between Seer and the boss. If players go through the door before the event is active to go through to the next area, it will break. So if you don’t kill the boss, or don’t wait for the cinematic to finish with Magg and Seer, then it will certainly break. I have fixed this problem – thank you for helping me identify it!

If that’s the case it seems like that should be something that should be warned about. It doesn’t say “Soulbound” though, it says “Soulbound on Use”. Since it was a Mesmer that crafted it, it is trash to the character.
I’m sorry this was unclear to you. There is a warning when applying an upgrade that it will make the item Soulbound. Make sure to read these when they pop up! We do take steps to warn players that certain actions will have consequences such as this.
Just a quick question if you are still monitoring this thread. Do you agree that the scoring system in hot-joins is not conducive to team play and actually causes it to be the main reason you see so many theives and mesmers? Because they are very well suited for that type of play (i.e. Kill, quick hopping between points, cap and leave).
Also, are you completely set in stone on the no solo queue option? Many people including myself do not have the time or have an odd schedule to form teams and play at set times, we want to be able to queue in tournaments with people who also want the same thing. That would by far be the most popular type of SPVP played if that was added.
Edit: are there any plans to make hot-join keep parties of at least 2 people together? With Christmas rush I plan on seeing a few new friends joining and I would like to stay on the same team in hot-join.
- Scoring: As I said in the interview, we want to make changes to this system once other key features are finished!
- Solo queue: We want to try the system I spoke of, where individuals can join and be grouped together, and then get an aggregate rating. It’s a complicated formula, but once we’re closer to releasing it, we’ll do blog posts to explain how it will work. So we will be addressing the issue you raise.
- For hot joins, we’re going to see what happens after custom arenas go live. We think hot joins will change how people view casual games.
- To the whole newb/noob thing: I did NOT mean this to be derisive. I was simply using it as a term to describe players who are new at the game. I did not mean to deride, explicitly or implicitly, player skill. Sorry that it came off that way to some of you. I simply feel very passionately about making an E sport WHILE ALSO PROTECTING our new players with the fury of a 1,000 burning suns. If we don’t protect and teach our new players, then they can’t get into the game and learn. If we don’t bring in new players, there will be no interest in the higher levels of competitions. I think that in order to have a successful E-sport, you need players who want to watch high level players playing. You also need to bring in new blood into your game to keep the game growing (think of any sport in the world….you have high school -> college – > professional).
So I didn’t mean that to be demeaning at all, sorry if it came off that way. I tried to explain what I meant by newb/casual (new players, or those who just play casually), sorry I didn’t do a better job – I’ll work on that one.

Have you tried clearing out your pick up tab? If you have a lot of items waiting to be picked up, no more items you have bought will appear until you have cleared it out.

Hey guys – Error 7 can often pop up for a number of reasons. Unfortunately there isn’t a set “fix” that will resolve it every time and so usually there is a bit of troubleshooting involved. For any of you experiencing this issue, specifically when you are trying to log in, I’d like to have you guys try two things: Winsock reset followed by a DNS flush.
Let’s start with the Winsock reset. To do this, please follow the steps below:
1. Click the “Start” button to bring up the Start Menu.
2. Type in CMD into the “Search programs and files” field but do not hit enter. Doing this will change your start menu to show the program “cmd.exe.”
3. Right-click on “cmd.exe” and select “Run as Administrator.”
4. Type “netsh winsock show catalog >C:\LSP.txt” without the quotes. This will save a file to the root of your C drive called LSP.txt. You don’t need to do anything with this – this is more of a confirmation that these steps were done correctly.
5. Once complete, type “netsh winsock reset” without the quotes. When the command is completed successfully, a confirmation appears, followed by a new command prompt line.
Next, please try clearing your DNS cache. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Press and hold the Windows key and press the R key. This should bring up the “Run” dialogue box.
2. In that box, type “cmd” without the quotes, and click the “OK” button. A DOS window should open.
3. Enter the following command below and press enter: ipconfig /flushdns
This should clear your DNS cache. You may need to perform this command a few times.

Hi Isami – Does she encounter this issue if she turns her graphics settings down to be more geared toward “Best Performance”? From what I can see she’s getting Out of Memory crashes which is often a limitation of the 32-bit operating system.

So studying it here empirically we think berserker is just missing and not less damage, but that duelist was actually impacted by the “bladetrail” bug fix. I will try and up the duelist damage and I will try and track down why berserker is not always hitting.
I did not change his HP in this last patch. I was just stating what his HP has always been.
When can we expect the option to recolor?

Worst case scenario I will just try and readjust the numbers based on the new functionality but that is harder because I don’t have the old data. For what it is worth it was not the bladetrail change that messed with this because we locally reverted that and this berserker issue still persisted.
Ok so its sounds like you could counter the summon delay by having a subset of traits. So we fixed a bug that lets all those triats work together but that also makes them not able to exploit the delay anymore. Since it seems like they were working and mostly balanced without the delay I am going to go ahead and reduce the delay on this stuff to .25 seconds. I just tested it at 0 seconds and that breaks some other things so I think .25 is the best compromise.

well, the shield is down for a total of 17 seconds, so it took them about 34 seconds of the shield being down, plus another 30-40 seconds working with the lasers.
2 tries meaning they only had to bring the shield down twice.

Yeah, you’re fairly correct about that. If I’m running with my dungeon group I go full glass cannon, but with pugs or unfamiliar people I tend to run a toughness spec. If you are good enough, and your group has good synergy, you don’t need all that defense, and you can play a bit riskier.

It has always had a delay, I am investigating if the delay somehow got changed. If someone has good raw data on the old damage of berserker vs the new damage that will also help me track down where that change came from and fix it.

the reason I had to increase his range was due to an exploit players could take advantage of to afk during the fight with auto attack on and easily win it.
As for his health, he already has half the normal health of other legendary creatures, and his toughness is scaled down as well. I don’t imagine I will lower his health down any further since I have watched groups kill him in just 2 tries.
RTL is indeed a bug. I’ve got a fix and going to try and push it through today.

I’ve found this bug a few times, it’s been around for a while.
It seems to be (and I could be wrong) that if any party members are still in the prior cutscene (after killing the prison warden) while other member(s) have reached the room where the bombs will appear, then Magg will run to the room without having the next event updated. The game trying to deal with overlapping cutscenes could be messing with the events.
I’ll look into the issue as you described it and try to get our QA on it – great write up and description. Thank you very much.
Oni, thank you very much for that description and your thoughts. I will get our QA to try that a few times, and I’ll look into Detha’s scripting to try and see if there are any disconnects there.
The reason this bug still exists is because we can’t reliably replicate it, so we can’t assuredly develop a fix for it. For this last patch I took a look at some of her scripting and a few interlocking parts in that area, and found a couple gaps to close off. Without knowing exactly how to reproduce the bug though, I am shooting at the dark for fixes and just hoping I hit what the main issue causing problems are. Good descriptive posts like Oni’s above are a great way to help us.
If you run into a bug, write up a post/ticket about it with good description of what is going on. It helps us greatly when you explain what you are doing when the bug happens.

Fyi, the delay on first attack has been present since BWE2. It is there for balance reasons to give enemies a moment to react to the powerful summon.
Berserker not doing the correct damage is known issue. We don’t know where this issue is coming from but I intend to solve it by the next build. 12/14/12
I know that seems a long time but it will be set back to viable. If you have good data on the damage it used to do to heavy target dummy vs what it does now that will help me track down the issue.

- Fixed a client crash that would occur whilst using the dye panel whilst transformed
- Reverted a change to the jump mechanic that impacted the timing of jumps
I can assure we are looking into it.
The issue regarding the regeneration trait being spotty is that Phantasms don’t apply it to themselves, but in an AoE around them (ignoring themselves). So if you have more than 1 Phantasm close to each other, they’ll apply it to each other (plus you and other nearby allies).
There were several crash fixes (client and server) in this build, including 3 server crashes in the Fractals. There was also a client crash related to armor repairing while transformed that was common in the Fractals which has also been fixed.
This thread is meant to collect FPS issue reports, because there has been a rising number of threads regarding this.

We’re working on it. It was an intended change to certain types of transforms (for things like activities, etc) so you can’t have any active traits while the transform is active. There was a bug where trait line buffs (stat boosts) were still active, while minor and major traits were disabled.
A few transforms like Moa, and Ride The Lightning were unintentionally and negatively affected by this change.
We’ll have this fixed soon.
