Never meant a happy ending, but for me that is the easiest way to explain what was missing. I think season 3 will come but that doesnt give it an end now. Till now the endings in gw2 were.
First story → Let’s kill the next dragon
Scarlet → Mordremoth awakens (→ let’s kill meordremoth)
Yesterday I finished the story, but I was missing something. Today I thought about what was missing and now I know.
I am missing: “and they lived happily ever after.” The story is now something like this: I saved the princess from the dragon and after we left the tower we stand still and talk about the battle and then END!!
In the original story (Zhaitan) we get an party in Fort Trinity and get a pact weapon, but in HOT we are missing something like a pep talk at the end in front of pact members.
Ps. It was beyond that a great story only a little short.
I really like glint. Here are my thoughts about the skills:
Shield 4: Great support skill and small heal.
Shield 5: sometimes the breakbar disappears after 1 stun. It would be nice to know how many stuns you can take before it depletes.
Facet of light
Passive: bit lackluster without healing power.
Active: great skill, much better than defiant stance from a warrior.
Facet of darkness
Passive: really useful
Active: didn’t use it much, but will have a great use in pvp
Facet of elements
Passive: Only useful for traveling
Active: Gives a nice boost to heralds DPS
Facet of Strength
Passive: bit lackluster. it would be better if you can a stack around 10 might with only the passive otherwise the cost to high.
Active: a nice boost to your DPS
Facet of Chaos
Passive: costly but can be useful in pve
Active: nice knock back, even better looks
Facet of nature
Passive: Great passive
Active: Great
Thanks for the build. Are there also any dungeon condi builds?
I recently started playing on my engineer again and i was wondering what the current (meta) dungeon (fractals) builds are.
I really had fun with the revenant. But i have a few things I didn’t really like.
Sword/Sword:
Auto attack: During the chain, there are many damage numbers (around 4). I found this distracting, because I couldn’t see all the numbers clearly so I did not know how much damage I did. A solution is to at the damage numbers of the additional attacks to the normal attacks.
Sword 2: Didn’t really feel usefull in pve.
Sword 3: This skill is lacking something. Increase the damage to a level as hundred blades from a warrior, maybe a bit less. Or make it an evade, I prefer the damage option.
Sword 4: Make it possible to cancel it to change it in an attack or gain some energy. Make it something like counter blow (warrior), or riposte (warrior) or Counterattack (ranger).
Sword 5: A fun skill, but it would be more fun if you can use it at a longer range (600) to use it as a gap closer. You use it, you shadow step to the target, you stab it and pull it back through the mist.
Shiro
Heal: like it, the 1 second interval is a bit long, but doesn’t really have to be changed.
Impossible odds: let us use it permanently out of combat or give Phase Traversal a passive effect of 25% movement speed and a cooldown (20+ seconds).
Phase Traversal: see above.
Jade Winds: Like the idea, not really usefull in pve, but fun. The only thing i would change is the coloring of the effected enemies into the color of the enchanted daggers. The enemies are more grey than jade.
Ventari
I like the idea, but I found it distracting use the tablet during a fight.
A change to the tablet would make it better. Let follow the player and make skill 6 to let it move to a certain place like now and after that change the skill to let it return to you.
Or an other idea is make the tablet something like a kit that also change the first 5 skills. The first 5 skills would other type of skills, like summon roots or summoning a seed turrent and as main attack something like a aoe pulls around the tablet.
And a last a small thing:
Summoning of the tablet: make it a ground target skill, like the moving of the tablet.
BP is a great trait, but AM is a permanent. With signets trait you can get 100% crit chance and because BP is on hit it isn’t always easy to get 20% dmg buff. So you will miss a few seconds on dmg if you miss the burst.
Damage wise BP is stronger, but gameplay wise is AM much easier to hold high damage. But it would be nice if AM get a buff to +25% crit damage to make the traits equel.
I am with Ozzrel. Kinda gets boring with GS.
If it is possible i would like a different type of damage dealers:
High raw damage from power
High crit chance with damage from ferocity and on crit hit procs (fire nova,…)
High condi damage
If possible i would like to split power builds from critical hit builds. There should be some changes then to the internal cooldown on some sigils and traits to increase damage for crit builds to make them equel to the power builds.
A possible way to realize this is to make the difference between the major stat and the minor stats larger in the armor stat. And some for in between.
The fastest way to make condi and normal damage builds is to remove ferocity and make it at +50% normal damage with modifiers from traits and runes.
But for now i will wait for the changes that will come with hot
I got it today, first time i entered SW since announcement and got it within 15 minutes.
More then once i got the boon retaliation during combat. Last time it was when i was fighting an kodan shieldbeared (!!alone!!). With my traits 6/5/0/0/3, runes of strength, dmg sigils or skills that dont give retaliation, how do I get this boon without help?
Any1 else got this ‘problem’? Or did I miss something
I think there will be 2 builds with axes. One with burst traits (Burst precision, berserker’s power and burst mastery) and 1 with (axe mastery and dual wielding). Both look quiet good. I think its a good trade off.
As I see it, it can bring GW2 closer to being a triangle. You can if you want already gear as a healer and a tank and with taunt it will be easier to tank, but there are a few conditions that will make that not really happen:
-It works probably as a stun, so good luck with defiance
-you cant probably have 100% upkeep, so if you haven’t 100% upkeep, the mob can go to an other player
If you can go around (ignore) these 2 points above you can have your triangle. (and you still have zerker meta, so good luck in finding a group like this)
But it’s just a reversed fear and can help to help your fellow players to get the mobs of them so that they can ress or heal themselfs a bit.
With the upcoming balance changes the GS gets slightly nerfed and also buffed with it’s new burst ability. I don’t think that this is enough for at least PvE wise. The GS has a good place in pvp with risk vs reward with HB and even Forceful Greatsword is in a good place, because you can crit less, so it is not too strong. But this trait makes the GS too strong. You can easily maintain at least 20 stacks of might, this is around 30-40% damage increase. (can be wrong, it’s some time ago I checked this). This huge dmg increase isn’t available to any other weapon. Because of this it isn’t viable to use anything outside of the GS in PvE. Main-hand axe gets close with it’s AA, but the difference is still large.
I want other weapons outside the GS to be able to be on par with it in PvE. The GS has currently 2 position: King of mobility in wvw and king of dmg in pve. I want to change atleast it’s position in pve, but if the GS is nerfed then it’s position in wvw will also decline. There are too ways to change it’s place in pve:
1. Buff the other weapons.
2. Nerf the GS.
1. This is the first possibility, but if the damage of the weapons gets buffed from the warrior it will cause that bunker warriors gets more dmg. This is one problem that already occurs in PvP. So I don’t think that anet will use this way.
2. The second option is to nerf the GS. This can go 2 ways. The first one is to decrease the dmg of the high damage attacks, like HB and whirlwind attack. (this will already happen in next patch, but doubt it will change much). The second option is too change 1 of the 2 import GS traits. The current trait Forceful Greatsword gives 5 seconds of might for every critical hit with the greatsword and spear and 20% cooldown decrease of the weapon skills.
There are 2 ways i can imagine to change this trait. The first option is the easiest change. The trait will get an internal cooldown of around 1 second. This is in line with other option to gain might on critical hit like guardian trait Empowering Might or the sigil of strength. This option will only hit the GS and no other weapon. Phalanx warrior get a huge nerf, but the dmg in wvw and pvp will be minimal.
The second option is to split this trait in 2. The forceful greatsword with the 20% cooldown reduction + something and the second trait to gain might on critical hit. If we split the trait the original trait can use a buff to close the gap the change left. I don’t know what the additional effect of the trait could be.
The new trait is something I think is worth to be a grandmaster trait. Even as grandmaster trait i think it’s very, maybe even too strong.
I don’t really know what this possible change will do to wvw and pvp, the warrior (GS) gets at least a small hit there, but in PvE the greatsword will get a huge hit dmg wise.
What do you guys think? The GS can take a nerf in pve. And please be civil.
Ackos
No it isn’t strange to find one here.
It’s true warriors can have both dmg and high health and defense. My proposition is to nerf the base line of the warriors stats (HP, Power, …, ….) and in exchange the stats from gear and traits will scale better. So if you choose full berserker you get less defense and health then normal and if you build bunker you do less dmg.
Anet could also decide if they do this that the stats will scale so that you build for one spec or 2 that those stats will be higher than before (berserker does more dmg but less health and defense). So that we get more builds that are polar opposites from each other.
Do you think that this can be a solution or not?
Ps. CI/longbow will still need a nerf)
I main warrior since beta, i must admit that GS is a bit too much. The problem with the GS is that it is the main weapon in PvE with the high dmg and that is has plenty of movement options. I would not mind that they nerf Rush to 900, but atleast fix the bug that it won’t hit anything.
Outside the GS, we have only 1 more weapon skill that leaps and it usefull for running and that is sword (hammer got nerfed, axe is meant to run with) and next to that bulls rush. If you dont run with GS or sword, we almost dont have any ‘leap’ skills (to escape). I would like to see that the GS gets of gets a dmg nerf or a mobility nerf, so it gets 1 place it excels in and not more than that.
Since the recent LS update, I wanted to check the atlas if anything new was added, but it has been completely removed. First the link on the homepage and some days later the site was also gone.
Did they say anything about it or are they trying to remove it without anyone noticing it?
I really like the way people can get their new backpiece. That you have to go to certain location to find the things you need and that you need different crafting professions to make it.
The only thing i don’t like is, that it’s only an backpiece and not an entire armor or weapons. Would it be not fun to ‘grow’ your own armor than go to tp and buy it, go to the temples and buy it with armor or the last option craft it.
If i precursors become craftable i hope that it something like this, but a bit harder.
I hope you continue with this idea.
Worked for a bit, 1 run CoE later, stuck again…
I have the same problem for that map, my main is stuck in the loading screen. Closing the client doesn’t work. I can play on all my other characters, but mount maelstrom wont load for me. Around 20 minutes earlier it was a bit longer than normal but i could enter the map.
Thanks for the reactions, i will take a look at the build and i will see what i like best.
Hey,
I have been playing warrior for a long time, so i got bored with GS and axe as weapons. So i switched to a dual swords for (solo) PvE encounters, which i think/hope will get more need for conditions (husks). But i don’t know how to maximize the damage. Should i go for zerker or should i go for condi builds or somewhere in between. What do you think will be more usefull in solo pve.
Ackos
I must admit i never thought about 0/4/6/0/2. It true that it would ruin that build.
It’s true the axe don’t need an buff, but I don’t think nerving the GS slightly is that terrible. It is still the most used weapon that I see on warriors.
AA mace is slow, but with dual wield agility it is faster. Because it benefit most of the increased attack speed than any other weapon.
Hey,
I want to say that my ideas can maybe a bit too strong, but I think that it can help with creating more builds in at least PvE. There are 2 traits I think can be changed so that GS will be a bit weaker with the 6/5/0/0/3 build and that dual wield will become a bit stronger and maybe main hand mace will become viable in PvE.
Forceful Greatsword
My first idea is to split this trait in two. The might gain on critical hit will be moved to the grandmaster traits and will count for all weapons. With this GS users will be forced to take 6 in arms and will lose faster swap on weapons. The trait in master will keep the reduced recharge and will get an small bonus like the other traits with reduced recharge on weapon skills. I don’t know which bonus we can give it, but I think even without GS will still be strong enough.
Two problems I can imagine is that axe main and axe of hand will become too strong. The axe is the fastest attack weapon and will get more might than any other weapon, this may make the axe too strong compared to the other weapons.
The second problem comes with Whirling Axe. This skill has 15 attacks and it will be possible to create a great stack of might. I don’t think that many people will be against it, because it has little use anywhere else in PvE other than generating adrenaline. My concern is that it gets too strong.
With this change (dual) axe will benefit most of it and the GS will be nerved slightly.
Dual Wield Agility
This is the second trait i want to change. 6 points in arms is a bit too much for this traits in arms. There is an large topic on the subject in the forum for arguing that this trait is terrible. I don’t agree 100% with them, but i think it will work better in the master traits. I tested this trait with mace as main hand weapon and I think with this trait in master that mace will become more viable in PvE, because you can create a build like this 6/4/4/0/0. I think this can be a great build. You lose the 10% damage against bleeding foes, but get a 15% increase against weakened foes.
With the change of moving this trait to master 2 weapons will increase most of it and are axe and mace. The change to axe will be minimal, but the change will be great for the mace. I doubt any weapon will get too strong with this change. The most important thing for this change is that mace will become viable in PvE and maybe in other game modes.
I hope you don’t mind my English and that we can discus about this.
I always did died on the jump, but it is still doable. Take the trait with less falling dmg and aim for the pillars halve way or jump with luck.
The dark room was for me always like this. I did check for the last time when LA was burning, but after the first few tries on the jp, i dont look around anymore and i just use aoe circles or cobalt so i can have missed some of the changes.
I use currently 30/0/0/10/30, but if this trait increase attack speed by 10% and if the damage from the axe comes from the auto attack and that gets faster, that means more damage.
The question for me is: is the +10% attackspeed en 30 points in arms enough to compensate for the loss in critical hit chance with full adrenaline.
Which rune should i use for fractals and PvE? I doubt i will survive long with only berserker gear and offensive runes. Or should i take pvt trinkets if i dont survive long enough en still use offensive runes?
So berserker with different trinkets and maybe runes. Thanks for the help.
I like to do PvE, sometimes fractals and WvW. I am starting to craft my ascended armor, but I dont know which armor stats and runes to choose. In PvE it is berserker and in WvW is that not the best option for me. So which combination of armor stats en runes would fit me best? If i want to do al three with 1 armor set.
Some are hard (i heard), arah, coe, but AC, cof, SE, hotw aren’t that hard (most paths) even with pugs. And i absolutely will not say that the dungeons are too hard, i would say to easy.
I like the idea of a warrior with longbow and melee weapons, but i would switch too ranger if they did more damage. I really like pets, but the damage is just disappointing if you played a warrior.
I like it, but i wanted boots not the head. A charr with heavy armor with a crown, no thank you..
Hi, can i get an invite. My dc’s while waiting are annoying, so i lose my place. Can i join you for some teq(/wurm) kills?
i know how you feel, waited 40 min for teq and got a dc at the end…
They can do it. The prove is the snowblind fractal, atleast the forest part of it.
I don’t think stability is the problem or those traits (Dogged March is a bit strong, but ok). Warriors use mostly melee and are weak if they don’t hit you. I think that warriors are designed for melee and without stability or cripple/immobilize it will be almost impossible to kill things that run or anything that moves.
Thx. I didnt think you would be full zerker, but good to know.
Its great, but still too bad if you cant play when you can get the achievements…
What build are you using? And what armor?
Still it’s a great achievement. Gz
1: ascended gear (auction house)
2: new armor sets
3: a more living world: weather, ships going in and out LA
Personally i really like SAB. I am happy that it is coming back, but my problem isn’t that it is lore breaking, but just the terrible time of it’s return. We are fighting against psycho with an army the size of the army of an elder dragon and between the fights we get a follow up story of an April joke. They could have waited a bit longer to release it.
I know that Scarlet went to hiding (maybe) after the battle in the funhouse, but still it isn’t a great timing.
If you give me the scythe, then i will be happy.
Personally i didnt like the manifestations of the gods in gw1 so you can skip those.
PS. i think that this belongs with the suggestions.
Interesting, i dont believe that Zhaitan is dead, because it was just to easy to kill him.
Zhaitan was a group of dragons, so i think he can regenerate.
i want to say one thing:
i feel your pain
I dont want to say much, but as ranged weapon it is not weak. I can hit to 2k dmg (2x 1k) and both hits can trigger as critical so you can have twice as much critals as a normal weapon (think about sigils). I dont think longbow is weak and especially dual shot.
I dont reallt like him but i dont hate him. I hope that the pact gets a real city like LA and not only a fort where you need to go to for the story mission.
Lets us buy reset items at the NPC for a few silver and let us use those items to reset our traits in the open world.
I dont want to say much, but i farmed cof for my bagslots and bankslots. You can use gold to pay for gems. The only problem is pvp they dont get gold from pvp.
