If you want to roam with it I suggest replacing that warhorn with a shield and replace that banner for SoR. I would use rending strikes insterad or deep strikes and a sigil of impact instead of fire. This is the build I am running now and it works very well for me, I use Signet of Stamina as a backup condi removal in case ES fails instead of Zerker Stance which is more offensive. It’s a defensive build that punishes your enemy when they make a mistake. My play style is patient controlling of the fight. I bait out their dodges and stability then burst them to death with a combo.

Hey i like the look of your current build + utilities etc, just a note on the weapons and gear though, why do you prefer shield to warhorn? even though warhorn is mainly for support it’s still a great weapon for roaming due to cripple removals and frequent swiftness. i also threw up this in gw2skills, what do you think of this setup? Melandru instead of hoelbrak (i won’t have access to ascended gear)

This little racecourse is a great addtion to the game is so fun and addicting! In a week i might get bored of it but im really enjoying this so far.

Would be great to keep it in the game and add new race courses etc.

But yea props to Arenanet for this great update, enjoying it all so far, feel’s like a crime it’s for 4 week’s but this is a great start to producing (hopefully) consistently great content!

I always end up going back to my engi, it’s reliable with the right build and it’s fun winning outnumbered fights, and it’s just generally a fun profession to play

I have 2 Charr, 2 Asura, 2 Humans, 2 Sylvari.

I refuse to play a Norn because I hate the way they run, they look clumsy most of the time, but i will give them the fact they have some awesome heavy cultural T3 armor.

I’ve been using it for a while i enjoy roaming and small group fights, i don’t really like zerging, just wondering if there are any changes you would make, or if there is a better build that uses these weapons all together. I enjoy axe/shield and greatsword i’m open to using different weapons if it’s more effective!. Also what is your favourite build for solo roaming or in a small group?

Just keep practicing with your engineer, ignore the negative comments, heed the constructive feedback. You won’t realize your full potential until you stop clicking. It’s one of those things that you’ll change and after a week of play you’ll wish you could kick your own kitten for not trying this sooner.

Really? Because I think his video illustrates that HGH is so braindead easy that in fact you CAN click the skills and do well.

And let me add, I don’t mean it as any disrespect towards you Aiden, you admit you reached 80 a week ago. This is merely my reflection on HGH and another discussion I had on the forum about HGH.

And on the note of the clicking comments, i know a lot of great players who click throughout many games where there is also the option to use keys, and it’s not like im clicking every spell either, i had the option to hide the cursor in fraps (which looking back i probably should have done from the start). I’ve had quite abit of success throughout games clicking, i don’t think was what made this montage bad, it’s just inexperience i guess.

I’ve been using rifled barrels all along, oh dear :P.

On the note of skill timer’s i have no idea how they turned off, i should probably turn them back on, it’s been like it so long ive kind of got used to it.

And clicking my utilities.. Horrible habit i know, got used to it and now im pretty fast, but keys will always be faster. I used to click some of my skills in WoW too and got a pretty high rating while doing it, so it’s just a bad habit really.

I decided to make a WvW video after levelling my engineer to 80 a few weeks ago, and i have to say it’s the the best time i’ve had playing guild wars.

It’s great because you always have boon’s on your self and you can stack huge amounts of might. Most of the damage is Burning, Confusion, and Retaliation (with some bleeding and poison) which really melts the enemies health bar down.

It’s the player that’s useless. Not the profession

EXACTLY the same issue, since upgrading my radeon hd 7950 to 13.1 driver i have been getting a black screen and some fps drops, going back to 12.4 like you said to see if it resolves this annoying issue

Yea they do listen to the playerbase.

The people who don’t think they are listening the playerbase are wrong, they are infact not listening your idea’s which often a very small amount of the community want.

And at the end of the day Arenanet are a great company, which have designed a great game, and they know best more often than not, but when the community does know better, they make the changes.

And listen to the word community, im not talking about a small minority of that which think anet never listen, im talking about the majority.

But.. But… It makes mining so much more cool! (or hot?)

Weapons Greatsword + Sword/Torch

Obviously the great sword because it is a great weapon for most hard hitting guardian builds. The one handed sword is a great addition as well as it has a great gap closer and traiting to give it 10% more damage makes this a really hard hitter. I’ve seen the torch getting a lot of stick on the forums as being useless, but i find it a really a great weapon for guardian “zealots fire” is a great finishing move with a 900 range, which often crits for 4-7k and also burns all nearby enemies, and the cleansing flame is also great as it also hits hard and is a great way to finish of stealthed enemies (great for shadow refuge) and it cures conditions on allies. Focus also works with this build it’s down to personal preference but I prefer torch.

Gear and gems ;

Sorry it’s not in the build link but it’s pretty simple.

I’m using knight’s gear with beryl jewels so i can get as much survivability from gear as possible. I’m using berserker’s weapons to get some extra crit damage and precision (i’m running on about 90% crit damage and it really shows).

I’m using beryl jewellery, with beryl gems. And sigil of flame on my swords and sigil of accuracy on my torch.

Utilities wise im using ;

Judges intervention : Breaks stun and is a GREAT gap closer (can be paired with flashing blade) + heals with traits

Smite Condition : Condition removal, extra damage and a heal with traits

Save Yourselves : Another Stun breaker, and give’s loads of boons with is always good. Also if you are fighting in a zerg or with a team mate use this followed by smite condition to help out.

Renewed Focus : Always the only option for me, gives invulnerability for 3 seconds and you instantly renews all virtues which are important in this build as they also give boons

Signet of resolve (heal) : The biggest heal and more condition removal (personal preference)

Really enjoy this build and highly recommend it as it’s something fun to play and also really effective =]

I personally don’t care about the maths, if you have a main character you generally do dailies on or just farming/gathering, then this is great, and it fits with the fiery theme of my character so ++ for me.

Now hopefully they will release versions for the axe and sickle (won’t be fiery though)

I would love to see a 3rd heavy class of any kind. Paragon seems cool (The title you get for winning matches in spvp on a guardian is paragon, so another reason to doubt?). Obviously they would have to make a lot of reconstructing but i can definitely see another heavy armour class coming a long soon enough along with another race, just what it will be is a mystery, as i can’t think of anything that would have much of a different play-style to warrior or guardian, as they cover a lot of bases in the combat department, but it will be interesting to see what comes along.
