Well I took a toon there and logged out immediately to save my place (so I don’t have to keep speding ~3sp to wp everytime I get reset to Lion’s Arch. Can someone please post when Fields of Ruin has settled down?
I keep trying to complete events for the Daily in Fields of Ruin but last only a few moments before getting booted to the character select screen with error (Code=7:11:3:191:101).
To the OP: I know it seems hard at first, but if you participate in the zone events you will soon have more than you need. You will have so many, you will be able to bank them for your alts and it will never be an issue again. Just be patient and participate in the events. You will get at least one crowbar per event, frequently more.
I submitted a bug report in game right after I had completed the story quest “Chapter 9. The Predator’s Path” and not getting the Mastery Point the achievement says I should have received. I still have not heard back from a CSR nor have I received the missing Mastery Point. I also responded to this thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Issue-Reports-Heart-of-Thorns-Merged/page/69#post5942867. I quoted another player who had the same issue (his post was from 2 months ago) and there has been no response from ANet since the quoted user had submitted his post.
I know for sure I did not receive one since I did not get the floating Mastery Point Symbol that shows up over your minimap when you receive one. Also, when completing the story quest, I only had 2 Mastery Points so it should have gone to 3.
How long before I hear from a CSR and/or receive the missing Mastery Point?
I failed to receive a Mastery Point for completing HoT Chapter 10: Strange Observations. I believe I may not have gotten one for Chapter 9: The Predator’s Path either, but I’m not 100% certain.
I just finished The Predator’s Path and did not get a Mastery Point. I know I have gotten Mastery Points for previous quests, this is the first one I noticed I didn’t get one. I also want to add I never got the little floating green Mastery symbol above my minimap. I did report this in-game.
I apologize in advance if my question is naive. I know I received it as a gift somewhere along the way but I am wondering, was it previously available in the BLTC at some point but no longer? Or was it never in the store and in that case, why? It seems quite a useful tool to get right to your friend, rather than to the nearest waypoint.
I can’t remember which thread it was, but someone submitted a screenshot of a blue/green pattern that shows up in the Black Lion Trading Company window. I have noticed that this ALWAYS preceeds a crash. If I open the BLTC window and see that pattern, I try to log out because if I don’t it WILL crash next time I try to zone to a new WP or change characters.
I logged out in Sparkfly Fen and now I can’t log back in with that character. It just hangs at the loading screen. I was able to log in to LA with another character.
EDIT: Wanted to add that I logged out when I saw the message about the game client being restarted in 3 min for a new build.
So I have been running around Plains of Ashford looking for Herb Seedlings nodes for a chance to get some Chili Peppers. Of the few I have found, none have contained Chili Peppers. I looked at the Black Lion Trading Company to see if I could buy some but they are going for 5s+ EACH! This is a crafting component found in a starting zone and they are so rare they are going for 5s each.
The chance that these will come from herb nodes should be upped a bit and they should be possible to be found in more zones than just this one.
As an aside, I would also like to add, as someone else mentioned, mouse turning versus keyboard turning probably makes a world of difference. I am not sure how someone could keyboard turn and do the puzzle, because with the mouse you can turn instantly versus the gradual keyboard turn.
That’s not so much a skill issue as it is reteaching one’s self a different way. When I switched many years ago it was very uncomfortable and took a long time. Now, though, it makes stuff much easier.
I cannot even imagine trying to do ANY jumping puzzle using the keyboard alone. I am curious to know how many actually DID get to the top with keyboard controls alone. As for me, mouse turning was absolutely imperative.
Yeah I know about the Black Lion items. But I was hoping to still try the Clocktower on one more toon and I was in the process of getting the Mad Memoires book when the server reset happened. Those events are gone now.
Well the new build is up now so I bet it will be gone I got the achievements and all but I was hoping to get the Mad Memoires book for just one more of my toons.
Ok it is now almost 8PM Pacific and the event is still available. Is it ending today or will it be ongoing until Nov. 5th. I haven’t seen any official info other than it ending today.
I worked way too hard on that thing to throw it away! That would make me cry. Haha… spent a lot of my free time on it actually. You know it has 4,000 frames of animation, and I had to hand track every single frame that a splash happened on every single fish for the audio guys to sync it up. Not that we will never permanently destroy anything. In fact… well, I can’t say more than that. But NOT the lion statue. It’s the symbol of LA. Like the Statue of Liberty is for New York or the Eiffel Tower is for Paris.
That only refers to Mad King Thorn’s appearance in Lion’s Arch. It doesn’t say anything about the Mad Memories quest or doors to the Mad King’s Realm. That is why I am seeking clarification.
I think the BLTC Halloween items being available until November 5th is throwing me off. Will the Mad King’s Realm and all related quests and events be over today?
So, just looking for clarification on something: will the Mad King’s Realm and all related Haloween events be gone today? I am thrown off by the BLTC Haloween stuff being available until November 5th. I keep thinking that Phase 4 will continue until then as well.
As far as I can tell the achievement doesn’t give any rewards except the account points and it also doesn’t count towards the main event achievement.
You get the Mad King exotic footwear out of the chest at the top. They are BoA, though, not like the ones that have a chance of dropping out of the Labyrinth or AtM chests.
It took me a few hours to finally get to the top. I never raged, rather I laughed at my missed jumps and faceplants.
Keep a good attitude. Take breaks if you need to. It is difficult but, with persistence, it can be done. You will find the other jumping puzzles in the game to be easier once you have mastered the Clock Tower!
Because one or two people have gotten these items, the OP assumes that every Tom, Dick, and Harry are getting them. OP, have you gotten one? I haven’t. I don’t know anyone who has. They are still a rare drop. Chill out.
I feel sorry for anyone who took the time and money to craft any of these, for arena net to turn around and drop them from a chest that you can get to in 4 minutes..
I am SO sick of the whining! First people complain the items are too rare. Then they make them craftable, albeit expensively. Now here you are complaining that there is yet another possible way to get these items! (Bear in mind that the person who got one on his 3rd run was INCREDIBLY lucky and not at all representative of the true chance you will get one from the chest)
Can ArenaNet do ANYTHING to please you people? Based upon all the whining, I think not.
On my server, the most reliable place for the portal doors is Queensdale. If they aren’t up, hang around Shaemoor Village and wait for the meta-event to start. When that completes, the doors become portals.
Once you get in to the Mad King’s Realm, speak to the Lunatic Boatmaster to get to the Clock Tower.
Well I am on one of the overflow areas of Queensdale on the Tarnished Coast server and the event didn’t have a problem. All doors are now portals to the Mad King’s Realm.
Hang around near Shaemoor Village in Queensdale. If the doors aren’t already available, you will soon see an event start that leads to them being available.
I had no problem doing the Mad King in a pug — I was level 54. As for the event, it caused my client to crash and when I logged back in the crater was already open, so no cutscene or achievement for me.
If you enter the instance, you get the last achievement for It’s a Mad King’s World (exploring all 4 areas of the Mad King’s Realm).
I got the achievements and all but I was hoping to get the Mad Memoires book for just one more of my toons.
It makes the normal jumping puzzles in the rest of the game a bit easier somehow!
