Good lord, I just noticed this first thing when I logged in…it’s a horrible undocumented change. No, it will not be a good thing in the long run for everyone. Make it optional, good grief.

You don’t speak for everyone. I like the separation. It’s certainly not a bug, but it might have been either oversight that there’s no option to change it back, or a limitation.

also your suggestion makes no sense, you’re basically saying “I don’t care about the new content, so let me play the new content.”

[Suggestion] Remove aquabreathers

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: AlliedKhajiit.2794

AlliedKhajiit.2794

Honestly I’m not sure why they exist in the first place. Outside of a seasonal reward track in pvp, it’s not possible to get exotic aquabreathers or higher, and the stat choices for them are so laughably small. With fractals going up to 100, if there’s the underwater fractal, you’ll be short of an agony slot because ascended aquabreathers don’t exist, and that might make the fractal incredibly hard to do.
On top of those few things, it’s pretty annoying to have to get a 7th rune for your armor set just so that 6th rune effect is active underwater.
I’d say either remove aquabreathers, or make craftable ascended ones.

“Al Míraj” I wanted to have the proper spacing for the Arabic pronunciation, but single quotes aren’t allowed in character names. It would be “Al Mi’raj”.

It’s the name of a rabbit from an old Arabic legend, that’s all cute and cuddly at a glance but will right kitten your kitten up if you try messing with it. I’m very happy about the name, I think it’s super fitting for the class. Deceiving, manipulative.

LFG Tool Quickly Going Down the Drain

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: AlliedKhajiit.2794

AlliedKhajiit.2794

I find it distasteful in the extreme, but arena.net hasn’t declared it verboten, so this is what we get. Personally, I wish they’d make an official statement forbidding it, an then actively ban anyone who tried to do it. Of course, the kind of people who buy and sell these services are hugely offended about anyone who feels this way. They always immediately start screaming “How are they hurting you?” “shouldn’t they be paid for their skill?” etc. I could care less about their arguments though, it’s just tacky and sad, exploitative on the sellers side and pathetic on the buyers. At the very least if Anet banned it they’d have to make shady backroom deals on 3rd party forums and such, and you wouldn’t see it in the LFG tool anymore, and that would be much better. They could hang out in the dark alleys of the internet making shady, shameful deals all they want, always fearful that their dirty secret would come out and their account would be properly banned.

Because that’s totally not an extremist’s opinion. “Don’t care about any of your reasons, what you do is kittening distasteful and you’re an awful person for doing it and you should be banned” like wat, you backed up that claim with regurgitated nonsense that can’t coherently make for an argument in any way

Answer to OP’s question: anet doesn’t want you to change these item between Charakter. Anet wants you to buy more for $. Solution for all your problems: buy more of these items. For example:
I currently own 30 Charakter and I bought the infinite harevsting tools for each Charakter which cost me only around 70.000 gems, (not 90.000, because of special offers). All problems are solved no, never need to put them into bank again!

Edit: of course the same about infinite salvage kits or airship passes. Even if you like some play items like carpet or flute, just buy multiple for each char! It’s really easy, just spend some $ or € or a little bit ingame gold!
Anet profits, you profit, everyone profits!

You spent nearly $1,000 on gems for infinite harvesting tools on all your characters..? Christ dude, that’s worth as much as my gaming rig.

Stop being a kittening zombie mindlessly spamming f everywhere to get your phr33 p1xel5, have some self awareness and wait for a portal to disappear or move to a different spot where you’re not underneath the portal and then press f, or use your mouse instead.

I think portal jokes are hilarious, and I’ve fallen prey of many of them, as well as being the predator. For the Megadestroyer, if you die in the lava then just WP back to the volcano, the WP is uncontested after you kill the world boss and it’s really not a big deal. Lighten up, learn to take a joke.

Just seems like it’d be a nice QoL change for mesmers. It’d do the same deal with leaving a clone at your last position if you have a target, and work as a shorter range version of Infiltrator’s arrow on thief.

It’s pretty annoying having to quickly use about face two times to cover some distance on the class, and when doing it fast enough, as about face isn’t instant, it can quite easily mess up the direction you were walking in, making you have to reorient the camera.

So, essentially what you are asking for is a way to have options like “Receive Whispers”:

  • From All
  • From Friends and Guild Members
  • From Friends
  • None

This seems like a reasonable feature request.
If Player A is on Player B’s friends list, but Player B isn’t on Player A’s friends list, how does that interaction work out?

Would this also extend out to things like mail?

(Please note this does not mean that this will happen, won’t happen, is planned to happen, and or not planned to happen)

These all sound like they’d be great additions. But there’s also one other thing that would take it a step further to really making the chat system feel good, and that would be filtering messages based on the text within them. I’m not sure how it would work out, but essentially, there’d be a list or something you can open in-game and add lines of text to it that would remove any message from a player that contains the blacklisted text.
For example, I add “best deal on gold” to the blacklist, then any messages that have those words in that order on it would automatically be removed from my chatbox, before I even see them. This would also make it less draining playing the game from the occasional player shouting incessantly about how bad the game is, balance sucking, etc etc, I just don’t want to see those messages, they promote nothing but negativity and it puts me in a negative mood, even if I do just block the person and forget they exist, because blocking somebody doesn’t let you un-see the things they said in the first place that led you to blocking them.

And then you would get
Good deals on gold
Gold cheep
B3st deal on gold
And so on.

Then add several different filters? People can’t see what your filters are, so bots can’t circumvent their messages being filtered. Block the name of the website that’s being advertised? What’s the bot going to do, replace letters in the name of the website with numbers? Then tell you to replace those numbers in the url with letters?
Maybe there could be different functions for the blacklist, like (Filter message if contains 3 or more words in no particular order, not case-sensitive: gold, cheap, xxx.xxx.com) and the list goes on. It’s shouldn’t be difficult to add a filter, it should be as simple as pressing a button on the contact screen, adding a line to a list, and boom, all those messages that fall under that blacklist are gone.

Just a small QoL suggestion that would make blocking gold sellers and whatever else a much easier process.
Basically, you have a blacklist where you can put any string of characters, and any messages containing those strings of characters are not shown. It won’t block the person saying the message, but for things like gold sellers, blacklisting a domain name would be really convenient. Oh, also you could blacklist those negative comments like “This kitten game so bad, anet did a bad job y m i even playing,” so you never have to see them again.

[Suggestion] Moving extra bag slots

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: AlliedKhajiit.2794

AlliedKhajiit.2794

So, you make a new character, you level it to 80, so far you’ve enjoyed it and you think it’ll become your new main. You purchase some extra bag slots for it for some convenience, then a few weeks later you decide you don’t really want to main that class. RIP gems spent on bag slots, as they won’t get use sitting on a now-alt you don’t play too often.
What this suggestion proposes is that extra bag slots act as a sort of currency. You can remove the extra bag slots from characters, and it’ll be given back either as something like a consumable, or perhaps a new currency in the wallet, that can then be used on a character who doesn’t have the maximum 8 bag slots to get an extra bag slot. I think a currency in the wallet would be the better one to roll with, as deleting a character and forgetting it had an extra bag slot on it would just automatically send it to the wallet, so you wouldn’t have to worry about gems being lost.

Disparity among gem store gathering tools

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: AlliedKhajiit.2794

AlliedKhajiit.2794

Why would Anet do that? That’s 1000 less gems that’ll have to be spent on getting a gathering tool that has more benefits than the rest of them.
I DO think that they should mention on the watchwork pickaxe in the gem store that it has a chance to give additional mats when mined with, so people would be aware of their decisions.
Players should have all the information they need to make an informed decision, and when Anet screws up with a tooltip or something of that matter, that doesn’t inform a player when it should, then that’s what needs to be changed, not anything else.

Ascended Crafting made me quit this game

Ascended items are not necessary in any form whatsoever to participate in this game. If you believe that they do, then oh man you’ve been thinking the wrong thing about this game for a long time.
Anything you can accomplish with (at least armor) can be accomplished without it. People learned to solo Giganticus Lupicus with armor. Then they learned to do it without armor.
Armor isn’t required to play the game, and the stat difference between exotic and ascended is so minimal that you shouldn’t even worry about having ascended as fast as possible. Since ascended stuff was released, the most I’ve ever gotten have been trinkets and weapons, and the most of any armor sets of ascended of the stat I wanted has been 1, solely because I wanted the skins.

Perhaps pistol thiefs gonna have some problems, but im d/d so wont affect me.

In PvP, S/D thief is gonna turn to kitten because infiltrator’s strike is basically the getaway card if you get kittened by immobilize. But because you (probably) won’t be able to use the skill anymore if you’re not in 600 range, it’s really going to blow because you probably won’t be able to cast it in a LoS position if some ranger starts going pew pew rapid fire on your kitten , or whatever else you’d need an LoS spot for.

The reason I ask, is because I want to make 2 files of the options being held, that I can switch to and from. I’m using 2 accounts, and while I’m running both of them, the frame-rate and load times get stupendously large unless I’m running the game at practical minimum settings everywhere. I like to fine-tune settings for performance or graphics, and it usually takes me a while. Considering you can’t save presets for graphics, I instead want to just save the options from the file and swap them out when I need to, instead.

Inflation pushes progression beyond reach

Ascended armor is practically worthless to get unless you’re an absolute min/maxer and you HAVE to have that extra.. what? 15 more major stat? 7 more minor?
Unless you’re putting +5 stat infusions on the armor, it’s not really worth going for. Even if you do fractals. I run a 49 pretty much every day and I have 0 need for ascended armor.
Ascended weapons are a different story, they’re still absolutely not needed (unless you’re doing 40+ fotm) but after getting 500 in a craft, the weapons cost far less to make than the armor does.
As for a legendary..? It’s not anywhere near impossible. I got my first legendary about 4 or 5 days ago now. I wasn’t trying since the beginning of the game, either. It took me playing the game but not going hardcore-grindmode except for the last 200g I needed to buy spark (which took me about 3 days to acquire) and in all it took me about 5 months of mediocre farming.
The inflation isn’t pushing progression beyond reach. Legendaries and ascended armor are still very much reachable, and honestly legendaries shouldn’t be classified as progression anyway. They’re skins, essentially. Progression isn’t tied together with how pretty you want to look.

No. The reason that you can select stats on a legendary weapon is so you don’t have to replace the weapon when you get a new build. However, I could support unlocking Sigils/Runes to swap on any weapon/armor.

You see, I don’t think swapping sigils/runes on ANY weapon/armor would be good for the sigil/rune economy. I think it’s a lot better with legendaries as there’s a minority of players who own a legendary, but if everybody could now completely ignore the sigil/rune market then those items would become completely worthless. At least if the feature is only available on legendaries (Or available as a legendary sigil that you crafted, I like that idea a lot) then the sigil/rune market wouldn’t crash and burn

So I just made my first legendary, Incinerator, and I love it. Changeable stats wherever I want so long as I’m out of combat, it looks super cool, has a sweet footfall effect, even emits a bit of ambient light.
All in all I’m happy with it and I don’t expect anything more from a legendary.
However, I thought to myself that there could be a really neat additional feature with legendaries: the ability to change the sigil to anything at any time.

Now of course, this would have to have restrictions otherwise it might just be too silly. First of all, I think a feature like this could be a really neat gold sink. Maybe not too much, but still a sink nonetheless.
For instance, every sigil you swap to is locked. It costs 5g to unlock the first sigil, then an additional 5g for every other sigil. Let’s say I wanted a Superior sigil of Justice unlocked, that’s 5g. Now, I want a Superior Sigil of the Night unlocked, now that’s 10g to unlock, for 15g in total. Once unlocked you can swap to the sigil at any time on the legendary in the same interface where you change their stats, so long as you are out of combat.
I wouldn’t really care if a feature like this didn’t make it to the game (it probably won’t) but I think it would be a super neat convenience for anybody who spent a large portion of time making a legendary. What do you guys think?

Will DPS meters get me banned?

4. let gw2 scan the memory for any unallowed program at random intervalls and send a message to anet if one is found.

you realize this form of detection is incredibly unreliable, right? Just because a program isn’t allowed doesn’t mean somebody’s using that program with gw2
