Hello, I couldn’t find a clear answer for my question, either on the forum or the FAQ.

I just wanna buy PoF from ANet website. + black lion chest keys, of course

I live in Europe but my bf is American and he wants to pay for PoF using his US account. When we started the purchase, I noticed the price changed from euros to dollars all the sudden. So, if I buy PoF for dollars paid from a us bank/card/paypal/whatever, will the game still work on my European game account?

Or do I have to look for a retailer in my country to be sure it works?

I like to walk and explore on foot, especially if the maps are so huuge as they say I cannot wait to explore the land on foot. But I figure mounts will be necessary for some parts. I think you can just try to walk? :]

I use Firefox and I keep on getting the message “This website is not redirecting properly”. BUT I used the links that Rose Solane provided earlier.
Firefox gave me a security issue message, however when I added an exception to load the blocked off site it just displayed an 404 error 0.o

This website exist or not?? :/ Is this some kind of hacking again?
What the hell is going on?

Hello! I’d like to accent that this is my personal opinion but I wonder what you thing and if you have similar opinions or different?

A while ago I made a topic on how post-processing graphic option in the game makes everything too bright for me.
With the new areas, like Draconis Mons and the new PvP lobby, the horror of glowing mist has been replaced with hiper-color drugged vision xD. I must say, I appreciate the change and it makes the post-processing much more bearable for my eyes.

Though:

1. I don’t have any vision problems.
2. I wear anti-reflex glasses for looking at the computer screen only, so the part of light/radiation is already filtered out by these.
3. I have a very good quality monitor with very lively colors (chosen by my bf who is a PC screens connoisseur)
4. Unlike most of people, I saw the DRESS black and blue! (You may still remember that meme).. actually I saw it violety-blue.
5. I use f-lux program to make my monitor less white at night.
6. I HATE white background fashion practiced by most of websites. Computer screen white is not paper white, I think it’s a quiet agenda to burn out peoples’ eyes ;d This is why most saw white dress!
7. My boyfriend has the same problem with GW2 and 1 picture. And he wears glasses because of eyesight problems.

Some may ask why would I use post processing if it hurts my eyesight? Here are a few reasons and annoyances I gathered:

1. “Old” maps are often too dark at night so I can’t see kitten. Post processing on with or without light adaptation makes them tolerable for a while.

2. in the old maps, even without the “light adaptation” option, which usually makes the screen a bit darker there is still that nasty white mist! I understand that it’s supposed to make a mood and whatnot, but it mostly makes many things hard to look at.

3. Too bright post-processing light effects and explosions. Example: My FAV Dragonhunter has a lot of blue light to use! Let’s blind the enemy with his light and blind the player too!;d

4. Most of maps, old and new looks much better and more colorful with post processing on… which still can makes my eyes hurt! :/ So I’m kinda forced to look at less colorful world, but at least I’m saving my eyesight.

5. New maps have this awesome, over saturated color in the post processing option… but there is still some annoying white-ish over glow that makes me squint after some time.

6. Maybe that white mist spreading the light was a good idea when computer screens were a bit worse? I kinda wonder how many people has their eyes a bit damaged by this constant white light bombardment :/

7. Light and graphics add-ons may be awesome and colorful without hurting peoples’ eyes….

I live in Europe but for various reasons I’m on a NA server and I want to transfer my account to EU.

But I have a few questions for people who transferred.

- How long does it usually take and did you have any problems along the way?

- Do you guys think it’s a good idea to transfer my account while the DDoS attacks/connectivity issues seem not to be stopping? plus, the game expansion coming this year (probably)

anyone from EU – did you have connectivity issues/lag etc happening to you as well for the last couple of weeks? Do you think it’s the same or worse/better on EU servers nowadays?

- And… what happens to my guilds’ membership I’m in while I move to EU servers? anyone knows?

I know I’m probably repeating this topic and probably someone replied many questions like this but… I like to have a chit chat on the Forum too.

Now you people, see why this can drive you crazy! I completely didn’t connect it’s the facet music, since it sounds so depressing ;p It couldn’t even occur to me that they’d combine this grave tones with the facet… I wouldn’t even thin the facet needs any music.

It’s nice first 5 times, but once you hear it repeating 30 times, it gets much more than annoying. Especially, that it completely doesn’t fit combat situations….
Is it a glitch or a bad design??

So… it appears that this monotone music plays only when I play with a Revenant/Herald. And it can be muted with “Player instrument volume” option! I have no idea what is that “instrument”. Or is it just a coincidence that I only encountered this tune as a certain profession.

I don’t think it’s any gear item, since I went through lots of gear changes and it was all the same.

so.. I’m just relieved that I CAN mute this awful tune. I still don’t know what it is though ;p

Nope. Definitely not the Banana. Banana sound can be annoying but it’s not depressing.

The music that comes back randomly to me is more like of some sad event…. That maybe I never played anyways. I don’t recall any tune like this. Too bad it keeps on repeating and repeating in the least suitable moments :P

So far… it hasn’t came back… as for now…

honestly, as annoying or creepy it was, I much more prefer the glitch that time when characters were saying random lines during game play – even not with their own voice!

ALSO – we (or at least, me) had that glitch when characters were repeating dialogue lines with Woormuula -or what’s her name – in the Bitterfrost Frontier. I think all these sound/music problems come from the same source and have to do with updates and expansions.

[This is all much more annoying and stressing since currently I’m getting treatment for anxiety AND I have a neighbor that is a renovation maniac – may call the police on him, eventually AND I have a roof vent that howls always when it’s blowing from the west and Administration (my building admins, not GW2 admins) hasn’t fixed that since! so it feels like GW2 is betraying me , with its own, random noises ! Gaaah!]

I’ve been having this on and off for like 3-4 months (or maybe longer?). I have sent a question to ANet but never got any reply.

Every once in a while there is this really, really depressing background music playing. I have ALL the music off in my settings, yet this one keeps on coming back (I think, mostly when I don’t fight) Dooohhhhh…dooohhhhh… dooohhhhhhh… gaaah! It is absolutely NOT my kind of background music.

The only way to not hear it is when I set the master volume to OFF, but then I can’t hear anything from the game ;<

What kind of bug/glitch is this and how I can turn it off? All it does is make me feel depressed and annoyed in the same time.

Another thing they could do is if a player was good enough to break out of the map they could just have them hit a portal wall that drops them on the next map in roughly the same location they should be on that map if there is one in that direction. That would give more of an illusion of a continuous world.

Great idea! Yeah, the same as it is solved in Rata Sum if you glide too low/close to the base of the city! That would really give an impression of continuous world more than just rubbing your face into something you cannot even see ;]

Thanks for suggestion. I may prepare a list and come back with a new thread. Though I’m not sure if there’s a point in doing that since I don’t think any of the walls would be removed.

I’ve been playing GW2 for over 2 years and unfortunately, I have observed many, many invisible walls inserted in the various maps just to stop you from crossing a certain point. I explore a lot and sometimes go into places that many players won’t go. However, many invisible walls has been placed in the areas that are easy to reach, especially by gliding. Even on the maps designed for the expansion. And I don’t mean the borders of the map when you glide very high and go over some moutians/treetops.

It breaks me out of the “immersion”, (as much as I can immerse in an MMO), but still. I hate that feeling.

I really like games that have maps designed in a way that feels natural, so you encounter “natural” boundaries that keep you away from places you shouldn’t go (or not yet).
Dragon Age is pretty good at that, for example.

I love GW2 as a whole, but I’ve always considered invisible walls to be the last resort in map-making and a cheap and/or lazy way of design! Honestly, every time I run into invisible wall I feels it’s soooo LAME. The only explanation I try to think of is that the team has little time and lot of pressure so they decided to make maps fast and just place these walls as a cheap and easy way to finish the design quickly. But it still feels very lame and unprofessional to me ;p

Esp that I saw an interview with ANet where I heard sth like “We probably have the most talented people here”. Ugh… not the map makers, I guess…

Honestly, I was surprised too, as it seemed like the game didn’t go down! impressive! Just chillout people and do your backlog of Festival Achievements and achievement points.

I started finishing No Masks Left Behind, since I didn’t feel like doing anything else in the game.

(Of course I’m like OMGGGG aarghh! wheen?? But I try to take it slow ;p achievemnts are often a solution)

I have the same bug: no suet or fire stone for me, EXCEPT the character that did the story and entered the map first.
So, somehow I still can get the achievement, but it sucks if I have to play with Ranger all the time :P
I’ll try suggested methods to see if they work for other characters (I have 9 of them, so, hopefully it will work at least for one more : ])

In the meantime, I hope ANet will fix this bug so I don’t have to redo the story a few more times (for my mains), which can become horribly dull.

I’m a color maniac so this has been bugging me for a while now. When I buy a new armor for karma/outfit from the store I often get it in the “original” colors. They mostly look superb but then, I have no idea what color is this. Color picker tool – I wasn’t sure what is it for, but now I know it surely doesn’t identify the original color I want to know

So, when all the original colors are called “dye remover” how the hell can I find which dye I should look for if it’s a color I don’t have yet?

Or am I stupid and I want to color my clothes with “dye remover”? 0_o oops!

I saw question about this one somewhere before but it was from some time ago.

I wasn’t sure if I did it a few times, but yesterday I surely did all of things required to get the achievement, yet, it wasn’t registered

I got confirmation on-screen that event of defending the Vigil batteries succeeded and the dragon was killed. But maybe it’s about how long I’m defending each battery? Or some other condition I don’t know?? Can you help me with this?

also, where the hell do I find the underwater treasure when Tequatl pulls me underwater?

Ah, that sucks. I’m not happy with this kind of system Anet invented. And the further you go, the more pain in the kitten becomes getting the mastery points… Not user friendly solution. It’s like we’re forced not use elite specialization until we get another mastery :/ I like to choose what I want to play but playing where I want and seeing all these XP going to waste is painful! AAARGH!

EDIT: Welp, in a situation when I have all the avilable masteries full I’m forced to farm the mastery points in order to unloc the new bar :/ I don’t like having that at all. First huge disappointment with GW2…

also, if I’m not getting any XP, why do I keep on seeing XP popping out all the time even if the bar can’t progress? They should be disabled then so i know I’m not getting anything.

So, maybe it’s a stupid question but it’s been bugging me for weeks. Almost all of my characters are in the “HoT” now. So, to go to another level I need to have enough mastery points either “green” or “red” ones to fill in a requirement.

So what happens to my “normal” XP points (that would normally go into the experience bar at the bottom of the screen) when my bar is already filled in but I can’t advance higher because I don’t have enough mastery points? I tried to observe if they get added later but I have no idea. I assume Anet wouldn’t make it so stupid that we’d be just wasting our time playing – getting loot but no points…

Can someone tell me?!

I only did this today 1st and second time but I just stumbled upon the anomaly running through the land. How to find the starting point of this event? Map on GW2Timer seems to be showing wrong locations :/

I decreased gamma but it seems I have to try sth with the monitor. AAaand… just look how bloomed up GW1 is. I didn’t play it but I’ve seen screenshots.

Can you share your opinions on the visual settings of GW2?

In the game daytime I almost always keep post processing option off because if it’s on (low or high) it’s just too much bright and bloom. It hurts my eyes and adds unnecessary lighting that, for me, is like a noise rather than something making the visuals nicer.

At night, the effect is mostly pleasant especially in the Grove!
but in the day… God help us! I think the daily post processing light effects are sloppy and look as if they’re supposed to cover up visual shortcomings. Just dump all these lights and blooms all over the place! It’s like spamming my eyes!
It makes me a bit unhappy because I can see the effect also adds colors to the world. But I have to choose between bleaker colors or hurting my eyes. Am I the only one with so sensitive eyes??

I was really sleepy when I first encountered this mechanics, so I assumed I just have to click the button and destroy the shard. When it worked, it worked by accident, apparently ;p ; how on earth would I know this effective jet stream of magic may have other usage? GW2 is full of sparkles and lightnings, so it’s not easy to figure out which is for what…

Half of the times or more, when I meet something new in GW2, I have no idea what i’m doing, sometimes for weeks! :P

At the Bloodstone Fen one of the personal story misions is to kill Justicar Adrienne and now the enemies there have these magic shields… So, I’m supposed to destroy every bloodstone shard that feeds a shield of an enemy.

I destroyed that kitten shard like 12 times and the kitten Adrienne still remained untouchable! Can someone explain me if I did something not in the right order or is it just an annoying bug????

I have more questions!

1. I GOT STUCK in the Dragon Stand story. while fighting with giant Canach! How do you kill him if the real Canach is not always able to revive me (if I fall into one of the red circles) My armor just gets more damaged. Should I just keep on smuggling repair kits to my character or what?? It’s kittened how the mechanism of this fight goes…Should I find more people to do this? Or should I advance the elite specialization to maximum before that fight?

2. If I have a character with the “HoT” advancement bar, and I don’t have any points to advance them AND I get XP points while fighting in the “old GW2” maps… where do my XP points go if the bar cannot advance since I don’t have “big” points to unlock my progress? Is it just an illusion I’m advancing then??

A quick note. I got HoT yesterday and just started playing with it.
So now I noticed that my Druid has all these healing powers and Dragon hunter has a longbow with more blue light powers.
That’s all cool but… from my over a year playing experience I feel that Ranger and Guardian are as goes:

(My Ranger even has a face of a killer, since I gave him a visage of a default human Necro as I recall)

I love to use my Guardian to heal people and Ranger has some serious firepower with a bow and a pet. And the Guardian has all these noble traits and noble names of powers and all that blue/white light (I love that light!) like an freaking angel!
I understand that Druid is nature, herbs healing and all… but the upgrade on this specialization just contradicts my experience.

We will see, new stuff looks quite awesome and personal story voice acting surely improved (not a tea party anymore!); even though… I get gameplay bugs.
I’m not spending money on a new character slot (for a Revenant) until bugs are fixed… or I’ll just farm gold to feel ok with not getting help on bugs. ;d

I started playing Torn from the Sky 2nd time, this time with a human Scrapper and decided to do salvaging. It all went well until after meeting the possessed sylvari scout. I don’t manage to save him. We kill the guy and then we go to that hill marked green.
And… nothing happens… I watched a video on YT and it turns out that Agent Gunnard has to trigger. He never triggers, I walked around this salvage junk 10 times and he doesn’t react. :/
That’s not the first time that personal story elements don’t trigger for me :/ Any ideas?

Is this something overlooked by ANet?
I have 2 thieves (male and female) and the 2nd one I just advanced didn’t get a staff. I unlocked ability to wield a staff and I even bought one with my own gold. But I can’t equip it! What the hell??
I also have 2 Beresekers and I suspect the 2nd advanced has the same problem because she also didn’t get a new weapon.

People with many characters, did you have similar problems?

My fav update glitch so far is when characters start talking to themselves (but with their own voices). Random cursing or sudden disorientation quotes make me think they’re trying to gain self-awareness… 0_o

Resetting game settings to default is my least favorite so far…. :]

you have to have post processing on for the visual drunk effect. though the effect is more hallucinogenic than a drunk effect if you ask me.

I mean more that in-game effect that you get when you drink from one of these giant norn barrels. I’d like this one to be on when I drink. You know, when they randomly trip for a given period of time. This is the best effect.

ah well….

…why the characters can’t get drunk? I’d be happy to see mine trip every once in a while. Or I dunno, start cursing randomly, since they do that anyway!
This whole booze thing is pointless if there is no effect.

With the amount of eggnog, cider and buttered spirits I served between two of them they’d be lying passed out in an alley by now! XD what the hell, I want some “realism”!

I totally agree. I paid for the game and I expect clear info. Or at least a clear info that they don’t know something. I know it’s not “normal” for companies to admit they don’t know something but I’d appreciate that 100 times more than NOT having any info…
