Getting an honest response is worth more than the 1,800 Blooms I need. Thank you.
Sorry the event did not work/is not working out, sorry people are upset, sorry you have to do damage control.
The remainder of my opinion aligns with the majority.

After reading about how awesome this Elite Specialization sounds (and breathing into a bag for a bit to calm myself down), I got to thinking. What would happen in this scenario?
>Portal Entre
>Continuum Split
>Portal Exuent
>Continuum Shift
>???
Does the Split-placed exit disappear? Can you recast the exit? Does the entrance’s expiration timer include the time spent in the Split? Thinking with portals hurts my brain…

From the streamThe final numbers will be somewhere between 1 and 1 million. That is a 100% factual statement. (Paraphrased)
I’m inclined to believe it’s true. Somewhat off-topic, but I hope these sort of late-brainstorming, work-in-progress feature streams become a regular/more frequent thing. I thought it was just a blast to watch both as a player and amateur game designer.
(“Amateur” is far too generous of a term but the only one I can think of.)

As far as I’ve been able to gather:
- Skill Points earned are now Hero Points
- Hero Points are earned while levelling and completing Hero Challenges (basically the current Skill Challenges)
- Excess Skill Points on existing characters are going to be converted into a Wallet-based currency used in the Mystic Forge. (Basically it sounds like the exact same functionality as current SP, just as a Wallet currency. Leads me to believe Crystals/Bloodstone Shards and the like will simply be replaced by a price of this new currency.)
- I suspect Scrolls of Knowledge will simply add [an amount] of this new currency to your Wallet. It makes sense that equivalence would be preserved (so using now or later will be equal/similar in gain).
- Tomes of Knowledge “Do exactly what they’ve always done,” to quote someone from the stream (Peters I think). They’ll grant a level, but that level awards Mastery whatevers (points/experience, I don’t recall).
- Experience Scrolls? If you mean the Writs of Experience, see above. Likely the same effect as they have now.
- Skill Point Scrolls? AKA Scrolls of Knowledge? See above.

Fortunately we’ve been invited to identify the specific loses that bug us. If you’re losing a build you enjoy, its time to outline how that build works and what about the new system is crippling it. They gave us (most) of the traits. We’re not working in a vacuum anymore .
Though I’m heavily paraphrasing:
Jon Peters (I think it was he who said this):We’re trying to preserve as many builds as possible but give more options in general. If the idea behind your build (not the exact build, but the driving concept behind it) is completely removed or gone, let us know and we’ll see where or how it can fit back in.
So yeah. I’m the last person on this earth who should ever be called an ‘optimist’ but today seemed like a strong step to actually communicating with us (the community/audience/customers/label of your choice).

So rather than letting gold sellers ineffectively spam into your chat box, you’d rather them basically get free advertising from an on-screen centered prompt saying, “HEY! You received a message from thisguy.9876. Accept or Decline?” A feature which, should I wish to enable/disable I’d have to toggle it through the Options menu?
Yeah no.
I just set my status to Invisible. Problem solved with just as much or fewer clicks.
Or that reporting gold sellers=auto ignore
Or this. Been silently hoping for this to become a standard thing. Invisible status pre-empts it, but this would prevent multiple-within-a-minute spams.

Alright, I have only one question:
Will these updates take place on Heart of Thorns’ release date, or will they happen before?
It’s obviously a big overhaul so I wouldn’t be surprised if it coincided with the expansion’s release, but at the same time I want this in my face so bad that I don’t want to wait!

FINALLY a thread actually worth posting in.
There’s definitely a bunch of different samples of varying lengths but I put my shiny twopence on “Neeeeeeeeeeeooooooooorrreeeeoooommmm.” Though I sincerely wish there was a “Zoom zoom zoom!”
There’s one that has a gear-shift sound in it. I didn’t know planes had gears (other than landing gear of course).

Yeah yeah it’s not SAB but I find this extremely entertaining (and phooey on the dissenters!) and I dearly hope there’s a tonic or something for this effect in the Gem Store soon.

Just want to point out something I haven’t seen anyone else bring up here or on Reddit.
Assuming these are all of the Revenant weapon skills (even just early placeholders), where are the skills for the underwater weapon? I mean the presence of underwater features have been gradually phased out for a while now, just wondering if this is a sign of things to come…
I doubt it, but it’s fun to speculate.

Yeah just making sure this gets noticed, since there’s a lot of other bugs that have cropped up in this patch.
For the record, I should have ZERO of these achievements since I didn’t play GW1 and therefore have no account to link. Wouldn’t have even noticed it if these points didn’t bump me to my next Achievement chest. The titles are nice though… going to miss them once it gets fixed.

Still voting for the implementation of a Legendary Sigil that fulfills this exact functionality. That way Legendary weapons remain at their current level of usefulness and both Ascended and Legendary weapons can reap the benefit.
Ta-daaaa.

Well since he’s wearing light armor this is just another case of, “Look at what NPC’s can do but you can’t.” There are tons of examples of this happening, like some of the leaders at the Forts in the Silverwastes.
Hyperbole is the absolute worst thing in the universe.
Lol nobody seeing the new staff skill? If you watch it in slowmotion you’ll see the character with the hoodie and glowing eye’s perform a front flip with what looks to be a staff.
That was, in all likelihood, an Engineer carrying a Battle Standard and using Rocket Boots. Or it could just be a dodge-jump. Looks more like that now I’ve taken a minute to look at it.
Anyway, if the original player in question is the Luminescent Light Armor-wearer that appears near the lower-left of the screen, then it’s definitely a Mesmer dual-wielding Chaos Swords and using Power Return (Mantra of Recovery’s casted spell). The source of Aegis was most likely from Signet of Inspiration, since no other nearby players have the buff as well (which would indicate a Guardian using Retreat or Virtue of Courage). I slowed down and gif-ified the section for comparison.
As far as, “why is this character doing this thing?” Well, I use Runes of the Air on my Mesmer which gives Swiftness when I use a Heal skill. So… Mantra of Recovery and it’s charges all give Swiftness which helps remedy the profession’s poor out-of-combat speed.

To quote myself from another topic:
But this is assuming that Revenants are in fact able to wield a Staff and it is used as a melee weapon. Has this been confirmed? I haven’t watched any recent gameplay videos so I’m honestly unsure.
Hyperbole is the absolute worst thing in the universe.
I rather have it as a Greatsword because you don’t hold the bat in the middle. Plus, Hundred blades
This basically sums up my thoughts. Also, I don’t think ArenaNet will make any special skins that change projectile effects that aren’t Legendaries. By extension, and even though I’ll likely never get one, I’d rather a Legendary of any kind not be a baseball bat.
But I would like a golf club as a Hammer skin, if only for Banish.
Hyperbole is the absolute worst thing in the universe.
I feel that this little game has enough rules as-is, yet I’m inclined to agree. I’ve made it a personal rule to not require any leaps/items/etc in my pictures and just make the regular jumps difficult (re: my Griffonrook Run post), but I’m not expecting others to do so.
At the very least, I feel like an author should give us the courtesy of noting which class they used if they needed to use a leap skill to get to a location. For example, I know the Engineer’s Jump Shot can get to places even Warrior’s Savage Leap cannot. If some people only play 1 class and it can’t reach a given spot, I think it’s unfair to basically post a challenge they can never complete.
Regardless, it’s not my call. Just offering my perspective.
Hyperbole is the absolute worst thing in the universe.
I know the location as well and have gotten dangerously close, but because a certain leap takes me over the “Dead End Tavern” instance-area I get immediately ported to the ground. Been roof-hopping for hours.
As the amputated Sylvari said, “I’m stumped.”
another hour later…
Well this is as close as I can get. I found a shorter, slightly less frustrating way of getting there but it doesn’t seem to be the exact location. Jitendra’s PoV is a little higher, but I’m posting my attempt for confirmation.

I’ll +1 this, as long as Wololo is also included. It may not be entirely necessary, but I think giving players more tools to deal with situations instead of “just what’s needed” is a good practice. Heck even the famously-always-silent Dark Souls games have this kind of thing. I also agree with DevilLordLaser on how to stop such a feature from being spammed in addition to the following:
- The feature includes its own separate audio channel (with slider) and perhaps a checkbox to enable/disable the visuals as well.
- Players on enemy teams (PvP/WvW) do not see the visuals (which I assume is a given).

Without the ability to fly, these look ridiculous.
As a part-time Necromancer, fearing a zerg off a cliff with half the people wearing them was the most delicious type of irony. I’m afraid I might never tire of it.
Maybe I’m ok with these after all…

As someone who’s (whose?) desktop backgrounds are 90% Guild Wars 2 screenshots, I’m both glad I will be able to take purely landscape-centric pictures and exasperated that I’ll have to revisit certain places in order to re-take certain pictures without my character(s) in them.
But mostly glad. Good job devs, I am usually a happy player but this is something I’ve wanted for a long time.

Some combinations I’d like to see:
- Warlock’s – Toughness (or Vitality), Power, Condition Damage – Would probably try it on a Revenant or Necromancer for a hybrid set.
- Pacifist’s – Boon Duration, Toughness, Vitality (or Healing Power) – For a slight twist on the hit-like-a-pillow Nomad stats. Also turning Boon Duration into a numerical value like Ferocity would be nice, though probably impractical.
- Warlord’s – Ferocity, Power, Precision – Just to complete the Berserker/Assassin/??? triad.
- Witch Doctor’s – Condition Damage, Healing Power, Power – No idea for what reason other than it hasn’t been done in any order.

“After a time, you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing, after all, as wanting. It is not logical, but it is often true.” – Spock
How poignant, given today’s events.
On topic, I’d personally pay no more than 100g for a single skin, but I’d much rather do whatever it takes to not simply buy it. I’m one of those strange players that likes to actually earn a reward via a challenge, even if farming gold to buy it is faster overall.

If you want this topic to live longer, please, keep it less hardcore.

Anyway, added yours in case Rose’s wasn’t close enough. My submission is the third one.

Finally found Arikyali’s hideout… what a strange, out-of-place little hangout that is!
Anyway, here’s jitendra’s new spot, but I’m tired of all these Maguuma locations, so let’s go somewhere else.
Hyperbole is the absolute worst thing in the universe.
I saw this suggestion somewhere else before, but why not a Legendary Sigil? It could cost a ludicrous amount of materials (like perhaps all the materials needed to craft every Superior Sigil) but when applied to a weapon it can be switched to any pre-existing Sigil. Ta-da.
To answer the topic question though, it gets a ‘no’ from me, and I’m not a fan of the ‘unlocking’ ideas either.

Ahahah I did it! I cheated the system, but I did it! Didn’t need Savage Leap though… so I’m guessing there’s a less stupid way to get there than the way I did.
Anyway, let’s dial it back a bit. Next one is easier.

Haha same. It took me the better part of my playtime, but I finally figured out exactly where you took that picture. I was convinced for a good while you were in Mount Maelstrom.
Unfortunately I have no idea how you got up there. Is there a way to climb the buildings or did you go out of map?
And I think Arikyali was referring to an actual leap of faith, not the Guardian skill… since his character that took the picture is a Mesmer (light armor + greatsword).

Been meaning to bring this up for a long time, but never quite got around to it.
Synopsis
This bug concerns the initial Necromancer headwear choices: the Demon Masque, Skull Masque, and Wraith Masque and the visible UV seams associated with exclusive Charr Female face options available via the Total Makeover Kit.
Priority
Low. This is purely a cosmetic issue and as such, does not impede gameplay or progress in any way.
Description
Each of the exclusive Charr Female faces have distinct UV seams and/or misaligned areas in regards to the Necromancer starter masques. I have attached screenshots that show the extent of this issue, which typically affects the nose, lower jaw, and eye socket areas. This is an issue specifically for the Female options, the exclusive Male faces do not have this problem from what I could see.
Diagnosis & Possible Solutions
As far as I can figure, the UVs of the items were laid out to align with the original faces, and the exclusive faces have different layouts that cause the items’ textures to be misaligned and/or split.
The easiest potential solution is to adjust the face UVs to better match the items, which would likely fix the issue for all the items simultaneously. Although it could cause some light distortion/stretching for the skin/fur textures.
The inverse, however, (adjusting the item UVs to better match the exclusive faces) might cause the items to then appear distorted on non-exclusive faces.

A-ha! Found it:
The link to end all links.
Hyperbole is the absolute worst thing in the universe.
There have been numerous topics about unobtainable armor sets already (and a fair number about this armor set specifically) and it’s usually around now that someone links the Dev post that says they’re planning on re-introducing said sets in the future across multiple game modes.
… Unfortunately I don’t have the link to that post. So you’ll just have to take my word for it. Or hope someone else has the link.
Personally I think you’re right. A big expansion would be a great time to enact such a change.

Easy enough, that’s Elder’s Vale in Frostgorge Sound. My submission is the second attachment.
Hyperbole is the absolute worst thing in the universe.
My Mesmer’s name is Astral Projections (because she throws out clones that are astral projections of herself) so I’m calling my Revenant, Astral Possessions (because she will be calling down astral possessions to her).
And your Elementalist, Astral Persuasions?
And your Necromancer, Astral Afflictions?
And your Engineer, Astral Inventions?
And your Ranger, Astral Propulsions?
And your Thief, Astral Lacerations?
And your Guardian, Astral Protections?
And your Warrior, Astral Aggressions?
…
And your bank mule, Astral Transactions?
Ok, I’m done, sorry.
To answer the thread, yes… sort of. I keep a spreadsheet of planned/potential/probably-will-never-make characters (yes, really, see attached) and their info but I’m still deciding who will be a Revenant. The names are basically decided though.

I have what I believe is a very simple solution, have all the items unlock while in our home instance. Make our home instances a showroom or store front of sorts. Maybe a vanity type mirror where you can go to activate the feature. This way we can see items live, to run around with them on, and test them. To take it a step further, I wish there was a makeover kit feature in the home instances too. Though again, all this would only be visible while inside that instance. That once you leave the home instance all changes revert back to their previous state. I ask for this because nothing looks exactly as it does in the previews. You have to get the character and items in the environmental lighting to really see what you are getting.
This. By all that is Holy and Good, this so much.
Even if it’d be only a client-side change (so even people in your party invited into your instance couldn’t see your altered appearance), even if it’d only be available through the Gem Store, I’d still be overjoyed to see this sort of thing implemented.
+1 duly and truly earned.

Wiki, on Chill:Movement speed decreased by 66%; skill cooldown increased by 66%; stacks duration.
Blog Post, on Slow:This will slow down animations and casts
Chill affects movement speed and the time between skill usage (affects before/after a cast). Slow affects how long a used skill takes to activate (affects during the cast).
For example, Chill does not affect your character’s auto-attack at all, but Slow will.
Having both on you at the same time sounds like it’d be a nightmare, though I’m curious to find out how Slow affects channeled skills like Necromancer’s Life Leech or Elementalist’s Meteor Storm.

What can you do with them?
- Nothing, unfortunately. Right-click > Destroy, weep.
What should you be able to do with it?
- Well, it would be nice if ArenaNet would add a 1c price to the Fine-quality Essences (which compounds for the higher rarities – 5, 10, 20c).
AND/OR - Make Essences acquired after reaching the maximum NOT Account-Bound. People who reach the limit could then sell the excess on the Trading Post.

I had a clever video all lined up to express my immediate distaste for such an idea but then I actually read the OP and thought for a bit.
So to answer the OP directly, as long as such an area is clearly marked and only serves as an arena (as in, no PvE objectives are tied to it) then I see no real harm in it… though I fail to see what such a thing would offer that WvW/Obsidian Sanctum/Custom Arenas doesn’t already. It wouldn’t appeal to me personally, because I’d rather just see local dueling implemented and even then only available in the cities (or maybe… in Guild Halls? Eh? Eehhhhh?)

Instead of adding (yet another) crafting material, they could just make Sigils/Runes salvage into varying tiers of the already existing Dust (Masterworks -> Tiers 1-2, Rares -> 3-4, Exotics -> 5-6).
Alternately, they could salvage into the Essence/Fragment/Shard/Core/Lodestone family of materials, since many Runes and Sigils require those ingredients in the first place. That would probably even out the prices of many Runes and Sigils, since the dirt-cheap/‘useless’ ones become more valuable as people buy them for salvaging, while increasing the potential supply of Essences-Lodestones, so I imagine there’d be a lot of gnashing of teeth regarding such a change. Just food for thought though.
Otherwise yeah I agree. I chuck piles of salvaged Rare Sigils and Runes in the Mystic Forge. Sometimes something good comes of it. I do support the idea of being able to re-Forge the Exotic ones though. It would probably help them gain some value in a similar way as stated above.
