It’s strange, people keep complaining about gold sellers, yet I receive very few whispers. Even after the megaserver update. I guess i get put into the lucky server where they aren’t there?

The no blood, bones, etc. isn’t culture, it’s government censorship. As to whether we will continue to see T rating stuff, I’m sure of it. It will just get censored out by the China team. I’m more worried about those living in China (such as myself) getting cut off from the NA/EU servers that we play on due to the China launch and how much the government watches the internet. To be honest, I’m surprised I’m able to post here.

I don’t believe the rumors of a mass hack. ANet is legally obligated to tell us about a such a thing. The gold sellers are just now more packed together, same with bots, due to the megaservers. Just report, and move on. I’m ANet is planning a mass ban soon, and we’ll see the numbers drop to what we saw two months ago.

actually SAB was warmly welcome in particular in its first incarnation; fun, balanced, rewarding, full of irony and highly replayable especially with friends.
Unfortunately the second appearance was too much focused on going hardcore, which was – imho – the exact opposite of what made successful its debut.
It’s ok to implement a menu asking which level of difficulty you want to play with, it is not ok to make the overall assumption that everyone want to play hardcore.
So, I hope SAB will be back with a revamped version of the 3rd world, improving even more the rewards and implementing maybe new game modes, and with new beautiful worlds to explore with friends.

It is always a gamble if you roll the MF. I got my The Legend by sheer dumb luck throwing random rares into the MF for daily. I’ll probably never roll a precursor for the rest of time. As stated before, get everything else for your legendary, save up gold, and pray to get lucky in the meantime. That’s really all you do until ANet reveals anything about crafting or scavenger hunt.

Ok, I was just concerned as I’m aware of how much the Chinese government censors things, and if GW2 had to get censored, I was worried that they might block all other clients other than the Chinese one, forcing me to get the Chinese version.

Title. I moved to China back in September, and it’s been bothering me that when the China servers go online, I might be forced into a Chinese server simply due to how the government regulates the internet. I’ve been following the development very closely, but ANet hasn’t stated whether or not those residing in China will have to choose a Chinese server. Or if it’s only for new Chinese accounts created after the launch.

I’m an American living in China, and have had numerous experiences of language barriers, mostly because I’m in an area where few people speak any other language than Mandarin, or the local dialect. While I can get by with a few words (girlfriend is slowly teaching me Mandarin) most of communication is by hand movements, such as pointing. On the megaservers, it’s going to happen where some people don’t speak English, the generally accepted global language, will not be able to communicate. They don’t have the luxury of hand movements that do to try to communicate. Instead, they will be stuck with following the zerg to whatever. Now, as I play on the NA servers, I’m not likely to come across these people as often, but, it WILL be a problem on the EU servers.

This is what this update was about. The NPCs who fled LA. Not the zergfest within the city. I spent a good deal of time going to all the camps, reading everything, and listening to all the dialogue. It truly is an emotional patch, and makes me want to kill Scarlet for being a real villain finally.

Okay, so if I’m getting it right, this thread is about requesting more character encoding support.
There are some people who oppose this because they believe this will cause communication segregation.
Since those who want to type in chinese now write in pinyin chinese, I don’t see how this is a valid point at all.

So I want to make two questions clear:
Will enforcing players to type in pinyin instead of chinese render you able to understand what they’re saying?
Is there anywhere in the EULA where it states “english only?”.

While it is possible to sort of write in pinyin at the moment in chat, remember that Asian languages also have tones, those tones are included in the pinyin. Not all the tones are supported at the moment. That can create issues, as words are spelled the same, but use different tones to tell the words apart. The pinyin needs to be allowed to turn into Asian characters, or, all the tones need to be supported.

I’ve actually noticed the timer as well. Crab Scuttle is a pain, especially when some of the places you need to go are in constant event status with gobs of karka. Sometimes you have to wait for the rest of the guild to clear that area, but that timer on transform really makes you rush into the fray and risk being killed.

Not so, chronometria. I know China doesn’t exactly put themselves in a friendly light, but they are very forgiving, and want the world to know about them. They can’t stop the internet. VPNs and proxys are abound here. Putting a pinyin support into the game would be helpful. You can’t read it? Oh well. Big deal, don’t talk to them. It makes it easier for them to talk to each other. Would you say they shouldn’t allow the marks on letters to make Spanish and Italian possible? Saying that any language, despite it’s origin is discrimination against a portion of the player base. They deserve to play on whichever server they like, without the problems of pinyin not having proper support. It’s easy to do, GW1 had it. GW2 should also have it.

A lot of people are getting this bug. Most of my guild is, including me. We had hoped it would be fixed by now, but it seems to have been overlooked.

Well, until NCSoft makes a true native client, these solutions work well. Far easier than that solution presented in the tg update 1.11 thread.

I’ve never attacked the chickens in any map, except Orr. Legend of Zelda traumatized me to never attack them.

They’ve already increased the number needed for silk/leather. I doubt they’ll raise it again.

People have been asking for this since pre launch

Don’t count on it. They didn’t bring back “Emissary of the Mad King”. Why should they bring back “Apprentice Toymaker”? “Volunteer” and “Avenger of the Disposed” can’t come back, yet some people would feel entitled to them, even though they missed that content. If you missed it, you missed it.

People do kitten and claw in the first few times after reset. Teq got buffed, and now isn’t worth the time.

My guild is always willing to help out new players, so long as they listen. If we tell you how to do something, we expect you to follow. We will still not kick you, but will become frustrated if you don’t listen and follow directions, especially for Arah. If you still want to try it out, mail me in game, and I’ll see if my guild is up for some dungeons (usually we are at reset time).

All the Evon voters seem to keep forgetting that we didn’t know about Scarlet at the time of the vote, save for a name.

Who would’ve turned out to be Scarlet is some stupid plot twist.

If open world dueling ever is put into the game, I’ll set any option I can to disable invites. Then if the dueler harasses me about, I’ll report them, and then block them. I personally would prefer if they put duel arenas in the other cities like DR or BC. To be honest, the Queen’s Pavillion had great places for duels.

Because the dev’s have never said that will be no expansions. They have stated that they are working on any atm, but that does not mean they are off the table.

I wouldn’t say it’s dying, not by a long shot. However, as many people have stated, ANet needs to announce a big update soon to try to keep players as other MMOs come out. Maybe a LS where we can kill Scarlet, and to get the full meta, we have to do it 4 times.

But seriously, if another elder dragon isn’t announced, or the opening of Crystal Desert, or Cantha/Elona, there will be an exodus from all servers.

I used to believe that getting a precursor outside of the TP or MF was a myth. Until I dropped dawn in frostgorge.

I believe somewhere it was stated that Guild Wars was named for what was occurring at the time in lore. Guild Wars 2 is after. The only reason it’s still called Guild Wars is because of lore. Not because of GvG

October is coming. They’re probably taking September off for living story to work on the Halloween story.

Then couldnt they do something about that? Like add some kind of symbol or indication as to what server the character actually comes from? If they did it right, you could have people on different servers with the same name, but because of the symbol next to the name, like an initial of some kind, they could have the same name. I mean you have to admit, that as a result of this, it has become difficult coming up with names that only have just a name and not a first and last name approach, cause honestly, who here really REALLY wants to spend time typing in someone’s first and last name just to whisper them?

Umm…most people in game have a “first” and “last” name. It actually makes it more personal. All my characters have the same last name. It’s how I’m identified in my guild. Didn’t have a problem doing it. You seem to be the first to complain about your precious name being taken on the first come first serve name database.

Scarlet will ally with Mad King, and you have end the alliance by going into the Mad Realm and fighting a 10 minute soloable dungeon

The first week might be hogged by achievement hunters, but after that, I feel it’ll back to normal. I’m looking forward to the classic TC/FA/YB matchup. Haven’t had that in a while.

Where has it been stated that MF and AR dungeons are going to be fractals? I don’t remember this, though it would be cool. As for what your saying, yes I agree November. Prolly at the same time Ascended armor. It’s also the one year anniversary of FotM.

It’s been mentioned in the bugs section. A dev stated it was an accident, and they will change it as soon as they get a fix for it.

For those starting their legendaries, or just recently started, yes they should wait, but for those that the precursor is all they have left, or close to that point, they should just go ahead and buy it.

A 5 ranger fractal group seems like unnecessary punishment.

Done a 5-man LB reefdrake lvl 20 fractal run. Took maybe an hour and a half. It was amazing fun, we were laughing most of the time, especially because maw would target our pets 5 times to one time it would target us.

I guess this is the obligatory “patch not up yet?” thread we see every patch day.

Pretty sure ANet is aware that people are saving up in anticipation of Tuesday. If they don’t drop T7 mats, they’ll face a kitten storm. If they do, but the silver is dropped, again, they’ll face a kitten storm that will make the gauntlet nerf outcry look like a rainbow parade.

This website is awesome. It tells you what temples are open on what server, as well as dungeons. It includes NA and EU. Hats off to BEAR for putting it together.
