I’ll be dropping warrior. Loved beserker on release. It had so many new tools that it didn’t have pre-Hot in traits and skills. Now that Anet butchered the traits, particularly t2 minor I’ll be on my revenant or necro from now on.

Oh yea 100% uptime on 7% damage lmfao only in pve. Blinds, dodges, and blocks makes this an atrocious trait in pvp. Catering to their bigger player base as usual.

Before anything gets discussed, I’d like to point out that we guardians can’t even use the combo field shield 5 makes for us. Letting us use that combo field would help shield compete with focus. Not alot but it’d help.

I also like that aoe aegis idea. +1 or even light aura.

I feel like the 4 on shield should knockdown. It’d help set up the long start up times and often missed skills of guardian mainhands. ie sword 3 or mace 2. (w/o having to pigeon hole us into mace 2>JI)

I also think the knock back distance is not high enough on shield 5. In fact, I feel like the knockback should be little bit less than the full launch distance. 550~ ballpark

After I shield 5 someone I still feel like their in the danger zone.

healing bombs were never really good imho. Most attacks tick more than what you’d heal even attacks from a full tank build…

As I see it, med kit is definitely supposed to be the replacement, but in its’ current state needs a number tweak to be at least on par with healing bombs pre patch.

I also feel like they could change how the secondary part from 1 on med kit works. It really pidgeon holes us to heal guardians/eles/lyssa rune users.

Another thing, I really hate the idea of med kits’ pick ups. It feels unimpactful if you’re trying to save your ally. Change 2-5 to cones/aura/square aoe/triangle or any shape aoe/ literally anything else.

in the mean time, just use HT, EG5 and MK5 to save lives.

honestly they should just alter the whole pvd pvw system.

GW2 has a somewhat-fast paced mobile combat system.

and then its meshed with this really slow and immobile siege system. It just doesn’t mesh.

This passive upgrade thing will not do anything to change that.

Because nothing important gets changed. like population issues which determine 99.999999% of the fights and all the other crap people mentioned

All us wvwers got is a stupid PvE DUNGEON called EOTM, little PVP circles in the middle of the map nobody freaking cares about, and little mastery bs. whoohoo i can pve faster!!! u no in retrospect its not all bad. Siege bunker is a decent trait against ac’s b/c we all know how stupid ac’s are.

Oh and lets not forget these frickn “tournaments” that nobody asked for. One more way to suck our wallets dry. Exquisite.

Take a look how many times PvP and PvE has been decently updated. Now look at WvW. Its the same freakin kitten for 3 years. Change the game already. Wvw still has so much potential (until other games start making combat as good as gw2). There is an INFINITE amount of bnb mmo’s where you can play pve and pvp in, but there’s not many if at all you can play wvw in.

I’m not mad. I just really love this game mode, and I hate seeing it remain unchanged for so long. BE TEE DUB you know what’d be different. If every npc was a lord and they could build/manage siege and they roam the map. oh yea.

These stacks gave a sense of progression and rewarded players that played Wvw more than Pve/ pvp.

From my perspective, it seems, yet again, they are spoon feeding the newbies.

HUH? Siege Disabler that disables enemy siege

The root of the issue is in the poor design of towers and keeps and rather then fixing the flaws they add more gimmicks. Siege placed on a wall is easily taken out by a large zerg with no threat to them whatsoever. Cannons and oils can be taken out by standing against the wall where you are “obstructed” from above. If you are defending you are forced to stand on the lip of the wall in order to target the enemy but the enemy can aoe you anyplace on that wall. With the proper siege mastery any outer keep wall can be opened up before the swords pop which hurts smaller servers. Now add to all of that the issue with arrow carts and FOV manipulation or with the problems involved with placing ballistas on the walls where they can do some good and you can see the design flaws. It is interesting to note that the elite skill with ballista mastery is practically useless unless you are firing point blank, straight into an enemy zerg. Any elevation advantage and the arrow spread goes into the air.

So now they want to add a siege disabler. Think about the above design flaws and then on where a defender would have to stand to “throw” that disabler. Yep, on the edge of the lip or he will be obstructed but if he stands on the lip he will be yanked into the zerg below. Yet the attacker can easily stand below and toss the disabler up especially if it works in the same way as grenades do now.

Fix design flaws before adding gimmicks or it will just end up making things worse then they are now.

The only flaw here I can agree with is the Ballista and defensive siege. Ballista is practically useless against 50+ man siege wars. Also as he mentioned, the elite is pretty bad/linear. Defensive siege usually gets blown up so fast that they see no use or the user gets 1-2 shots of it then it goes down from the 50+ blob.

Litany of Wrath is mediocre with 20% lifesteal even when traited.

Shield kinda feels subpar on guardian compared to other guardian offhands and shield wielding professions. Stronger heal and lower CD on 5. Maybe buff the damage on 4 or rework 4.

Spirit weapons/traits are kind of useless. Like most ai skills or ai profession mechanics.

All signets feel mediocre except for SoJ and SoR. I feel like the cc-signets should have AoE actives. And the revive signet a faster cast time and shorter CD since it only revives ONE player with medium range.

First two minor traits in the toughness line are really bad.

New stuff:

Hammer 3 should root for 3s. So at least we get 1s immob if enemies run melandrus+lemongrass.

Also the passive for virtue of justice should be 2.5s so at least guardians get 1s of burning against melandru+lemongrass if they traited into +condi duration.

Mace 2 thuper long cast time.

Merciful intervention as a skillshot instead of ji and sword 2 skillshot sounds better.

Maybe condense the symbol damage/duration.

Sword 3 projectile velocity could be faster. They should at least use a dodge/skill to avoid my attack instead running around me.

After casting tome, ToW should have 5s stability with same retal duration to at least cast 5. ToC should have 5s stability with same protection duration to at least cast 5.

WvW Frontline build?

I agree with Afya here. From T1 experience, Necro’s role in WvW blobs is AoE dps, boon strip and conditions. I say conditions because staff is a hybrid weapon, which is usually a staple for most necros in Wvw blobs.

Honestly, if you really want to frontline, a guardian feels alot like what a front line necro should be except switch the conditions with boons and switch boon strip with sustain. Wells are basically symbols.

Edit: And plague sucks. The 1s blind and 1s chill get kittened on by melandru+lemongrass poultry. Use lich and strip stability. No stab on train = dead train. Lich also super buffs your wells.

I’m going to be white knight/devil’s advocate here and say they aren’t out of touch. Their is just a lot on their to do list. Up until now they’ve been perfecting the PvE part of the game (albeit crafting a legendary is still rocky), with some festivals, and some profession changes, which is good. But now they are working on PvP and WvW(mix of pve and pvp), which is basically the other TWO parts of the game, so it’s expected for them to not have as many festivals like SAB or LS.

I also think PvP and WvW as a whole should have more priority on their list than FPV option to “get good screenshots”…

Although I will agree with OP that the commander prices are a really high for a color change.

On a completely unrelated note, we need a wvw commander rating system, so the trollmanders can be dishonored from wvw or be really really low rank. There are literally tags that will wipe on the 1st push and rq. There are also tags that just quit when they outblob us. Speaking of tags, there should be more rewards for people who tag up and lead the server successfully through fights coughbilbodeimoscough or sieging/capping coughpeeweehuntercough, but there should be a limit on each map maybe 3. 1 for defense, 2 for offense.

From a wvw standpoint, hallowed ground is thuper good.

Sanctuary could use a CD reduction at the cost of the light field since guards have 4 (off the top of my head) light fields already.

for wvw zerging, I feel like engi lacks really strong reliable POWER aoe. with the exception of throw mine and to a lesser extent barrage.

BoB has a huge delay and usually ends up whiffing. Same with the toolbelt from rocket turrent. Rocket turret also dies very quickly.

FT 2 travels too slow, so you end up using it at 100-200 range, basically melee range. (not usually a problem in spvp since the environment is more condensed.)

Elixer 4 another more risk than reward and must be in melee range to use.

FT 1 gets overkilled from retaliation and so does grenades/barrage. (im fine with this)

I really think they should super buff the FT auto in damage and lower the cast time since it is really risky for an engineer to go in 400 range with mediocre condi cleanse/semi-low duration stability. I cant even do half the damage my warrior can do even tho i have supr runes of strength and ~15 might stacks in a power build.

I don’t know why all these new players are bashing on CI and BS. When warriors didn’t have these cleanses, it was literally impossible to go into melee without losing more than half of your health in sPvP/WvW. However, I will agree that CI needs a ICD just to keep it in check, and Absolute Resolution should be on par with CI.

I hate saying it because it feels like I’m beating a dead horse, but I honestly think the devs should put less time on their philosophies and look at underused traits/utilities. In 2 years of gw2, I’ve never seen a full signet guardian or necro, a trap theif or a physical only warrior. Now I’m not saying all signets, traps, physical etc. are bad. It’s just that certain utilities/traits are really weak compared to other utilities/traits. I’m also not saying they don’t balance at all. Thank Melandru they removed the useless bone minion trait and they changed the 9000% damage thief signet.

On completely unrelated note, I think the devs should change the GWEN meta in WvW (and buffing TREM, buff ranged damage to counter GWEN (?), a new WvW mode, clones, pets etc.). Right now WvWs stale as skritt and it needs love because fat girls need love too.

Last thing, you guys should add more weapons and replace the gain x when rezzing traits that only a few thieves and fewer mesmers use with the new weapon traits. If you can’t take out traits, you could always fuse certain traits or add removed traits to less used utilities. And add new elites which the engineer desperately needs.

TLDR: More customization choices and WvW love.

Ranger sword

I play WvW most of the time, and use the sword to get in range of Muddy terrain or run away. (more of the latter)

the auto is pretty good, but the two and three are really clunky.

It takes a little over one second to 180 degree turn, which is a fairly long time, and I barely gain any distance.

And when I use three I feel like the enemy is out of range (melee) if he just runs in the other direction.

I’m sure this has been suggested before, but I hope ranger sword jumps get the rocket boots treatment, where all jumps go forwards.

OR if they absolutely can’t change it, they can give the two a 1 second block. and the three a much-needed faster animation.

In wvw, I never use this skill. would like a change.

EDIT: for instance, press 2 if it hits, chills them. press 2 again teleport to them. or press 2 to throw projectile, then press 2 again and teleport to projectile and chill surrounding enemies. Necro WTB non-utility jump.

Supply and Siege

I’m not sure where to put WvW suggestions, but I hope devs read this. The supply requirement for siege I feel is restricting and slow. It takes 3/4 people or 30/40 (? off the top of my head) supply to build a flame ram/arrow cart.

I think it should take 1 guy to build a flame ram or arrow cart provided you have supply, but it should be 1/3 or 1/4 power and hit points of the ones we have now. If their are two people, one can build a flame ram or arrow cart and the other can upgrade it with his supply and increase its’ siege power/ hit points, or he can build his own in another location. Or you can upgrade your own if you have 20 supply.

This supply to power/hp ratio would also apply to other siege. The base power/hp ratio would be higher on superiors.

I also think the charging mechanic for siege could be faster. Sitting/charging on a treb in a tower and hitting SM is really really slow compared to other aspects of wvw such as roaming/blob fights etc.

What do you think?

I agree with OP. Wiping blobs double your size should have some impact on ppt.

Kills should reward more ppt than it does now. It should be proportionate to the amount of current players on the map. Less players get more points per kill.

I think towers and keeps should stay the same though in terms of ppt, but defending a tower should be rewarding. Maybe a WvW chest every 2.5 minutes if the keep is contested for an entire 2.5 minutes and you repaired or anti-sieged. 1min for towers. This includes taps. This gives some incentive to defend and get loot even if you didn’t wipe them.

On second thought in terms of keeps and towers ppt, I think tick should be lower. from 15 (?) minutes to 6 ish minutes.

Jocksy pretty much nailed the spirits issue in WvW. +1

Support ranger is really weak right now in WvW. Invigorating bonds helps, but their ults are really weak. Buffing radius to 1000 on Spirit of Nature helps. Spirit of Nature should also scale with Heal. pow. Making Entangle ranged 900 would be pretty good as well.

I also feel like the only spirits worth taking are frost and water for their passives. Additionally, spirit actives besides SoN are really bad. If the ranger had some control over spirit actives’ AoE, it’d be fairly useful.

Couple suggestions for Warrior healing signet active.

- double regen.

-healing based on attacks for a duration.

-block for short duration 1.5s~. no heal. CD reduced if hit on block.

No cast time would be nice. I prefer the last one.

Backstab stealth builds usually had no drawbacks for missing a backstab. This was a pretty hot topic on /r/guildwars2.

Instead of just flat out revealing if you miss the backstab like /r/ suggested.

How about giving backstab a 3 second cooldown while being stealthed.

before people start complaining about burst/adrenaline having no risk, there is a risk with burst/adrenaline. It goes on CD for 8 second traited (off the top of my head).

Others have said that mob AI should change and not crit damage . I’m not sure how exactly to change that AI, so I have another suggestion. I feel like the devs should change frequency of crits.

Like you can only crit x amount of times on this mob for a set interval.

But if you guys absolutely feel the need to reduce crit, can it be a 5% crit damage reduction? and 4% crit reduce on ascended?

For the record, I just made 3 ascended cavalier weapons, which took me two months of slaying world bosses/blood, dungeons/sweat, node gathering/more blood, so this upcoming change saddens me and my charrior.

Normalizing crit damage is not going to stop people from using the top dps spec for PVE.

They should be, like others have posted, changing the AI on mobs instead of giving them ridiculous stats.

Got ressed twice consecutively and quickly used fear me and endure pain at the same time.

Then I couldnt use any utilities/weapons/healing skills, but I had infinite rolls/dodges.

Less lag
-toggle on/off 1500 range rendering. No characters/animations/particles beyond 1500. Unless its siege.

I just hate min/max my warrior and not being able to go ham and melee into 2 other servers because of lag. Then when I go down, none of my cc or utilites were used. It really sucks returning to gw2 and the wvw lag is the same after a year. Just my 2c.

I think your problem isn’t with RNG, but simply with the difficulty of obtaining said weapon skin….

I’m pretty sure you won’t be happy if they sold the skins for a flat rate of 7500 gems.

Its like you didnt even read the thread. People are selling it for 7500. I and many others wanted the devs 5 months ago to sell it for the same price as the winters on release day, which was 500. Now that they’re re-releasing the skins they can take it out of BLC. Its not like they CAN’T do it. They did it for wintersday.

I’ll follow up with a different question then: If you had said weapon skin, and sold it for 250 Gold, would you still be complaining?

No. Everyone’s mother knows TP pricing for gem-skins is a complete rip off. Look at the wintersday skins. They were a little over 5 dollars. Now their priced at 150g. That is 15 TIMES MORE gold than their actual price. I know everyone needs to make some profit, but the gold price is just inconceivable.

Please take the fused skins out of the BLC.

Ive been doing some digging around and found out that Tuesday’s* anniversary sale included the fused skins. I loved these skins and of course I was extremely happy but then I remembered something. I quit the game because I wasted 2 weeks worth of money on fused tickets and got nothing out of it. When other people got it in 1 try, it felt like a HUGE kick in the gonads. So heres my suggestion.

Please make fused skins purchasable FOR A SET AMOUNT OF GEMS like the winterskin ones.

Wow only 50? meh. How about the return value for healing power? If thats low too, I guess ill go dolyak or vampirism then.

im not using a crit build. so crit damage is out of my consideration. im goin for a tank build w/ oomph.

Hey GW2 community,

Im about to hit 80 w/ my necro and making a crap ton of gold thanks to this event. Ive been playing a well spam/siphon-tank necro and Im not sure what sigils/runes to run.
Im running 30/0/10/30 dg/focus and staff.

Im really leaning towards those new sigils of exuberance tho.
