Guardian if you want to feel useless and only spam 2 keys (#1 skill and auto loot) maybe three if you feel like giving empowers.

Necro if you actually want to be usefully using staff, wells, deathshording, and plaguing.

But i’ve played both guardian and necro and my necro is pretty tanky i’m able to sit with the frontlines and survive while still putting constant conditions and AoEs on to enemies.

I dont see a reason for them to bring back town clothes.

People on the sidelines can still just take off all their armor and there ppl who care know not to attack them and ppl who come and attack anyone anyway can and will still do so.

You can still costume brawl with tonics. Though i have a sceenshots of ppl doing that in spawn area…

I’ve taken part in a lot of secret santa events, mainly on forum art ones. Their quite fun.
So i wanted to make a pre-prep post to see how many ppl would be interested in doing secret santa, and helping out as mini helpers that still get gifts but keep me from pulling out my hair ^^;;

What is Secret Santa?
~Around Mid to Late November you get a list of who wants to join
~They fill out a form listing a few items that they would like for their xmas gift.
(could be ectos, lodestones, T6 mats, skins, dyes. You could list a legendary precursor maybe your santa has it sitting in their bank not sure what to do with it and their in a extra special giving mood! maybe….)
~Come December everyone is given a random person they are responsible for gifting.

The gifting is done in different ways where the santa is responsible for giving their gift for xmas.
Or the gifts are sent to one person they keep track of who is giving what to who, who hasnt sent something, and they are to give them out and your santa shall remain a mystery unless they want to reveal themselves.

Of course there’s a lot of problems with this.. few being:
~What happens if ppl dont give a gift but get one?
~~It would be the event holder (myself) to make sure everyone gets a gift even if it means i have to spend my own gold. If i can have a few extra giving helpers depending on the amount of ppl truely interested that would be great. But so far this post is to work out any kinks and throw ideas at each other.

~How can we trust one person to give out all said gifts?
~~Yes i know im not a big name on these forum so its not like everyone knows and loves me, so i can understand how im not a very trust worthy person… But i kinda feel like if i were to taken everyone gift that would kind be grounds of anet to ban me X_X and im not really looking to get my account ban if that means anything.

But for now i’d like to get an idea of who actually wants to try this event. Even if its only 10 ppl that’s a good sane start and will allow good rep and for us to grow for next years.

Im not bring in my upleveled im bring a new lv80. I also dont see what the problem is with it being an upleveled either. it probably making upleveled characters more welcome in WvW rather then a burden.

My example is I used a birthday booster and got from lv 20-90 on 10hrs of karma training. But doing that burned me out and i wanted to play something else for a bit. but all my other characters have like 5-20 wxp as well which kinda is a turn off from wanting to play them. But i have them because sometimes i need something new to keep me invested into a game. So i jump Mesmer > to Necro > to guardian > to Engi > Back to Mesmer. and across all characters i probably have 150+.

There are ppl who do have enough WXP points to invest in every skill as it only takes 1315

As for the account wide legendaries you can transmute it and make it account bound then split it and make it a legendary again. But thats not really part of this topic nor WvW for that matter.

They have it in Spvp.
You play and gain glory and its character wide.
You decide you want a change and try another class and you have access to the same level of glory on that toon as well.

I enjoy playing a different class every now and then i get brunt out and want to try something different in WvW. but its a pain in the butt to be useless with no wvw skills on my new level 80 character that just stepped in WvW compared to someone who has the guard buffs and defence against siege. >.>

Also most ppl have enough points to unlock most of the skills so even if the points you invest in one character is carried over i dont see the problem with make the increase damage to gaurds on all characters because you already unlocked it

I’d hope for the art to be done before new years, but since its a busy holiday month i’d understand it not being finished untill afterwards

Mesmers are put in dungeon parties for their utilities. Feedback reflects and Time Warp. Our 10-15k DPS from our Wardens/duelist is nothing compared to a warrior’s 40k+ hundred blades. So honestly a mesmer can run any build as long as their able to put up a feedback or timewarp.

Aside from Friday at release, all of our same commanders are leading… >shrugs< And I’m on one of the highest population servers. WvW has been pretty amazing once in. Enjoying it a lot!!!

You say this but they can easily switch one matra for any skill they need. Like you said mesmer are brought for ulitily because honestly compared to a firey Greatsword of an Ele or a warriors 100blades our damage is easily replaceable. And honestly there are very few elitist parties on LFG that require you to be a certain build so if a build works for you and you like being a support go for it i say. If you dont like it make your own party with your own rules.

Honestly in hi level fractal and small group pvp i’d love to have a healer class.

Things are pretty close between SoR and SoS im excited to see JQ weekday crew =D

Why do you need map completion anyway? if your going to legendary you need badges of honor, if you’re not then its not big deal not having it. If getting 100% map is a big deal then you should have picked your server a little bit better.

I believe anet added WvW too map completion because the gift of exploration you get from having a fully discovered map for legendary, and because you need badges of honor you would be in WvW anyway.

But you can always look for a server thats wiping out the other two servers in WvW and transfer there to get them

I tried to change my password due now so i wouldnt have to later, but i didnt get a notice of it had been changed now its not letting me log in with my new, old and its not letting me recover…

I just did it with warrior, guardian, thief, necro and necro (blue/green gear).
No worries, nothing really changed. If you sucked with it badly pre-patch you will still suck at it.

anyway heres a more helpful post. My party did it after the patch, full guild group so all of us where on vent. Breezed through everything, due to the no rez rushing we had to actually rez anyone who downed/died on lupi. No big deal. reached Simin and it was just bad because we couldnt get the sparks in the totem fast enough.

What fractal can i do?

Im a bit confused about the new patch, does it mean i have the ability to go to a lv30 fractal if i find a party thats doing it?

I recently rerolled mesmer when i finished my Sunrise, and while doing such i farmed enough mats to infuse one of my rings, and my fractal back piece. So im siting on 10 AR with the ability to get 25AR if i just throw the basic infusions in my gear.

you’re not suppose to transmute you’re legendary. This has been said for months now that when you transmute it you turn it into an exotic. which is why players have been leaving the stats as is.

I like how TC has given a superior attitude to servers they have beat in the past, but now that they get it….not so fun.

SoR gamed the system, it has nothing to do with winning or losing.

T1 servers want SoR in T1, SoR should be in T1 and some on SoR gamed the system.

You wouldn’t be faring any better if BG was in T2 this week anyways. I don’t get why you folks keep railing on this. Without that third competitive server (sorry SBI), you were going to get beat this week if it was SoR or BG. Drop the act already on this.

we wanted another week to farm siege and get ready for T1. SoR doesn’t want to be that server that goes into T1 without superior siege, and in the middle of an event week where people are going to be “omg new shet must see”. We want to test the new WvW patch, get siege farmed, and some of our members wanted to celebrate getting back into T1 with their legendaries finished. We want to go into T1 knowing that if we failed, we brought our A game. We did try to get to T1 this week because we got all the planed guilds that was interested in joining our server, but the message didnt get out there in time, so we’re still here.

Also the servers are really messed up right now. SoR has gotten a ton of players from TC and SoR that are using the fact that free transfers are ending to get on the server thats going to T1 now. I heard some players joined us because JQ was full…

But i dont believe that paid transfers are going to stop ppl from transferring all together. Just slow it down and server who want guilds to join their server are also going to have to help ppl get all their members over more then just blackout events now.

Props to the two TC charrs who ran a golem all the way to veloka Slope. better use of time then tabbing out on the forums to complain and argue about spawn camping honestly, which server is hacking, and being the reason threads get closed.

I really wanted to give SoR a good fair fight when BG left the picture and it never came, which above all is a real pity. There was a good chance without the transfers that SoR could still have won tier 2, but I also think that TC has proven capable enough as well. But because of the transfers I can’t answer that question. This matchup was broke and is now essentially pointless. A win* is just not the same as a win in the Dwhitecyclopedia of Crittanica. :p

The January 11th SBI-SOR-TC match-up was untainted by transfers. It was close that week, SOR won because they didn’t sleep and the commanders pulled night shift duty. We have all seen a “fair fight,” it’s odd that people forget that match-up so quickly.

All three realm’s commanders were putting in some serious overtime, not just SoR. Anyways, I’ll say a few things here…

Firstly, I wish SBI hadn’t of melted so quickly after coming to t2. It could have been much more fun.

To TC, you gentlemen started out as honorable combatants, but as the weeks have gone on and you have received more transfers, your players seem to be made up more and more of angry children. Players taunting downed opponents when it was 5 to 1, camping the last leg of JP’s and then taunting after you manage to kill folks etc. Part of the beauty of WvW in GW2 is the comradery, let’s not lose that and turn into 13 year olds that try and tea bag people because it’s just so “lawlerskate funnies!1.”

I wish I were talking about an isolated incident. It’s really widespread… If you see people doing it, give them a public tongue-lashing. Were going to have to shame these people until they’re afraid to do it.

If you dont like it then dont lay there dead. I’ve had enemies dance, laugh, bow, and other things on my dead body form either being found hiding in a keep, or being caught alone running supply.

Few things it could have been,
1. Thief perms stealth res, it’s extremely common nowadays and if you don’t keep aoe on the corpse 100% of the time that Mesmer is gona get up
2. Mes died close enough to the door to be resed through it

If it wasn’t one of those and they were bent on cheating it would have been easier to glitch inside using the walls and as such a waste of time

2 is not a legitimate tactic, which is what they did.

so mesmer dont need to hide in keeps they just need to make sure when they die they just die on the inside of a keep hugging a door. yeah thats not something anet needs to worry about…

=.= i cant even farm gold fast enough to get my GS Precursor. Last week i was farming to 300g and the weapon was bouncing between 300-400g now im farming to 400g and its bouncing between 400 and 420 everyday higher buy orders are added, and i’ve watch the number of available reduce and increase only to fall again if anyone posted it under 400g

Yeah i could just use the gold to buy rare GS and throw them into the Mystic forge. =.= but knowing me i’ll end up not getting anything and be back and farming gold all over again.

I liked the CD change. I never abused the glitch on purpose, but found it annoying when i over reached the F3 key and hit F4 and F3 at the same time giving me a CD on both .__., so im happy with the change.

Im getting sunrise on my asura mesmer i dont really care what people say about the GS being over rated im a Greatsword Sword/pistol mesmer and i switch to staff depending on the situation (and yes i will be getting bifrost as my second legendary.

As for you it really depends on your armor. I ran a dungeon with a human with the hammer i didnt even notice it because he didnt have hardly any armor to see the effect it gives. Where as twilight effects is the foot prints and the sword animation.

Most weapons clip depending on your gear my jotun greatsword clips into my TA armor as well.

agreed this is a fun mini game and i love it but i want to play with my guildmates and friends not complete strangers :/ they should make it like sPvP multiple rooms that you can join and randoms can follow you if you have space

.-. kind of a poop move on anets part so if i want 3 of the minis i have to buy the 3rd one because im not able to farm them. i can even do it with alts and farm each city on them because running it on another character gives you the reward as if you id it already, as well the clogs are account bound so cant be sold or bought.

Well actually the october event was more human related since the other races do not celebrate it. Which is why it was only in LA and the human areas. Only reason why there were other races dressed up because the kids where getting free candy. Like in real life im pretty sure kids dont know why halloween is celebrated they just know they will get candy. Also Mad King event was focused around the mad king who was a human, the Priory were just background characters.

Also i dont see why asuras wouldnt get the lead it this. o3o i mean they could use some norn make him be santa and asuras be his little elves but that would be too similar to the original and be way out of line with GW2 theme.

Did you forget that there is a blacklist you can add the whiners to as well as the report for harassing? And to be perfectly honest if this was disabled because of fear of harassment it’s doing jack squat. My friend constantly runs into this IoJ mesmer with a twilight and kills her to the point she logs out when she gets down (honestly anet should do something about those people), but anyway said mesmer retaliates but find his game name and spam his youtube page and now our guild page….

Now thats harassment, if your worry about some two year old acting grown person bothering you in game just say “welcome to my blacklist” and be done with it.

The reason i want this back is because if someone hacks your server, you can easily, right click, get names, and report to they’re commander and give them the proof you have so they can get kicked from guild and server shamed. Now its like if you post it on the forums anet will mute for you public shaming, deletes your post, or closes your thread. so you have no way of really talking to the other server about it unless you have their name.

agreed i hope anet doesnt take this feature away, because then it make me feel like they want no server communication between other servers inside WvW, and that it should be all serious. I have friends on another servers and i just made an IoJ friend a few days ago. We sat in party talking about mesmer builds and then skip along to go kill BG together, and stood back if someone on our server attacked eachother. At the end of the day it is still game a and its no fun if you can have harmless fun.

Umm… you can. You take your gold and you buy gems. You use the gems to buy the upgrade.

That’s exactly what you are suggesting.

If you feel the gold price is too high then you can purchase gems directly.

To the OP: You realize that while you complain about how few gems you get for gold there are people who are complaining about how little gold they get for gems.

He means just buy slots without gems because they gem prices are just continuing to rise with all the events. Players are hoarding they’re gems till winters day so ppl who wants some new holiday item in the store have to pay an arm and a leg for it. The only way to get a gems right now is to either A. have a lot of money, or B. sPvP and with the top slots for payouts filled with the already premade sPvP teams theres really no way to get gems unless you use a gold seller. -.- I want to buy some make over kits for my characters because during launch i was rushed, and have a few sitting in my bank for when i want a fun change, but there’s no way im paying almost 16g for a stack of 5. And i dont buy gems using real life money because i dont have the ability to.

the only game i played with a “looking for group” que was Forsaken world.
It was nicely done you pressed “t”, there was a list of dungeons that were based on time of day and the level of the character. You picked one or more and when there was 5 ppl the que would pop and you pressed go. If all 5 did not press go the que would reset so you wouldnt get suck in a run with only 3 ppl.

i was thinking for putting my legendary farming on hold and work on these but my build isnt on here. Will it be before the armors because i’d hate to feel left out of all ascend gear because theres not power/precsion/crit damage gear.
