Same problem. Since todays patch (14.2.) the game is unplayable. Normally 40-60 ping, now I have 800-3000
<— Austria
With HoT the LFG Tool feels awfully cluttered. I mean, especially the Living World Tab where seemingly everyone dumps their requests lately. Be it World Bosses like Tequatl, Silverwaste Maps, then with Halloween we had tons of Lab and Ascent lfgs and of course everything you can do in the new HoT maps.
If you want to do something with a group in the open world, it becomes very hard finding said group before it quickly vanishes again.
I think, it would be helpful, if the HoT Maps get their own tab or, for instance temporary festivals, world bosses get their own, too.
Guild Features- what's great / what's missing
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Candacis.7048
What I’m missing is the feature to see when someone joined the guild. Like the entry date.
100% agree. Content in HoT Maps needs to be challenging.
Can you tell us, if you have an event or something else planned and when it would be?
This event is still not working properly. I don’t understand why it is so hard to fix this. Since the event is necessary for a collection, please fix it.
Here is simple statistic: I have bought outfits when they were mixable. I haven’t bought outfits since they can’t be mixed anymore.
I would guess I’m not the only one. Arenanet you are missing an opportunity here.
The thing is this. We buy gemstore clothing because they are good-looking, but also to set yourself apart from the rest. You want to look different, better than the rest. You can’t make your character look unique, if everyone is wearing the same outfit with no differences besides the dye.
Plus, you are robbed from the enjoyment of mixing different armor (or outfit) pieces together. For me that was fun and the big selling point of outfits and armor alike. Since this is missing, I’m not buying outfits anymore. You want to have my money again? Make outfit pieces mixable. They don’t have to be mixable with the armor pieces, mixable with only other outfit pieces would have been fine with me and would have gotten me in buying a lot of outfits.
It is awful right now. If they need to display the login bonus, please put it on the bottom or on the bottom of the daily tab. But it doesn’t need to be at the top of the page. I want to see my account boni and last achievements there.
Yes, the summary looks awful now. Why did they do that? I liked how it looked before. The important things like accountbound mf, gold boni etc. should be on top. If need be, the login boni should be on another page or should be something I can minimize.
Just no. I like GW2 Playstyle and I don’t like being pushed in one of 3 roles with no things in between. There are enough games like this already around.
I was interested in buying this, not anymore. At least not until this issue is fixed.
I don’t like most of your redesigns, sorry. Too me it looks too cluttered and too confusing, especially for new users. Don’t like the new website design at all.
However, I looove your redesign of the Journal, it looks great and it gives it a much more “important” looking vibe. The idea with the characters are great! I would love to have that. And I didn’t even know I wanted a lore journal until I saw your ideas.
I encountered this on two maps. The bottom lane of Vinewrath isn’t opening. The last wall can’t be damaged it says, no matter how many times the devourer (with ammo) arrives at last wall. I saw it on a map where all 5 champs were killed before and again, on a map were not all 5 champs were killed.
Anyone else had that problem?
First: Since the new dailies, I do more pvp because I like the pvp daily chests and how I can progress faster on the pvp tracks with them! Before the new dailies: little to zero pvp, after the new dailies: 1-3 rounds of pvp daily.
Second: We have fractal and events in a specific location dailies, why not specific dungeon dailies? Like do 1 path of CoF etc. I’m missing this.
I’m sorry normally I like the things that are offered in the Gemstore, but the Nodes are not one of them. First, they are pricey and still overpriced for what is offered. Second, the description in the Blog news and the icons in the gemstore shop suggest that you get more than is offered.
Here is the text from the news:
Basic Harvesting Node Pack
Grow a vegetable garden of your very own with the Basic Harvesting Node Pack! Once you’ve used this item, you can visit your home instance once per day per account to gather from a Vegetable Plant, Root Plant, and Herb Plant!
Even the icon in the gemstore suggests a little garden. What do we get instead? Three plants (no new models) hovering a bit above stone/cement ground. This is not a garden. This is a rip-off. This is the top of lazyness. Even more so you don’t even know through the gemstore what plants you will get and how much. In reality, you can harvest the three nodes once per account per day and you will get random results, no control whatsoever. That is misinformation and very close to false advertising in my opinion.
For 800 gems, meaning 10 Dollars/Euros!, I expect more. I expect a real little garden with fitting ground texture and additional decoration around it, a overall better arrangment/location, more than 3 nodes and the control over what I harvest. Heck, I expect the option to actually grow something for the next day.
You had the chance to do something with it and instead you chose, again as with the previous node packs, to do a fast money-grab. Disappointing.
I always wanted to be insulted on a daily basis as a racist kitten whenever I speak german in a game chat. Thanks to megaservers, it is now possible for me…
I feel like an unwanted and unwelcomed guest on megaservers.
Megaservers might work with the north american servers, but it creates chaos and discomfort with the eu servers with all the different languages AND cultures.

Maybe I got something wrong, but it is extremly annoying that I now have to carry a pvp weapon set with me and I always have to switch my weapons forth and back, when I leave pvp. Why can’t my pvp weapon choice be saved when I leave the mists?
As of now I’m in the Mists, use a pvp gear, I leave the Mist, I still have the pvp weapons equipped, I equip my pve weapons again, I return to the Mist, I still have my PvE weapons on and have to switch all over again.
This is unconvenient to say the least.
The system would be way more fun and uncluttered (and still sell transmute charges) if you could use charges to unlock ONLY the skins that you wanted and then were allowed free transmutes to play with those skins at will.
I second this. This would have been a good way to do it, only use charges to unlock them once in your wardrobe and then use them as often as you see fit without being charged for it.
But how they handled the town clothes irritates me the most. This was not a wise descision, even from an economic standpoint. You robbed the town clothes of all that made them fun and enjoyable. I already submitted a ticket for refund for mine.
Why you couldn’t make a second wardrobe for townclothing is beyond me. We already had the ability to switch between town clothing and armor, was it too difficult to add a townclothing wardrobe to it? It would have encouraged a lot of people to gather all of the townclothes, meaning buy them in the gem store, meaning more sales. But as of now I don’t see how you are expecting us to ever buy town clothes again.
Oh man, always with the zerker..
Yes, yes, we all know it is the most efficient.
But this is a game and sometimes it isn’t about being super uber efficient (surprise), it is about having fun.
He/She specifically asked for a non-zerker build/armor combination, yet you still suggest zerker. What is so wrong in having different playstyles to keep things interesting?
And no build provides 100% protection. The player does that with skillful use of all abilites, dodging the right times and using the skills the most efficient way possible, with careful timing and the knowledge what to use when.
Newsflash, not all players are experienced like that. Not all players are always on high alert. Not all players like going all out offensive.
The issue is – the only thing you can do is ask. And I may follow … or nor. But both are in accordance with rules.
And just one thing – question is why people are standing doing nothing? Because there is a reward associated with that. Remove the incentive. You are not participating? Fine, no reward for you. Simple as that. No achievement, no killing chest – nothing.
Second that. Anet created the problem with the leechers at the fight in the first place. There should be some participation required to get the chest. I tried calling those people out, saying in the map chat that they should help out, but a majority of them said, they don’t want to help out. Yeah, awsome and nothing I can do against that other than double my own efforts to even finish the hologramm, because we are lacking dps left and right.
Same here. All achievements done, but no meta achievement unlocked. It took me a long time to get there, so I want my reward. Please fix it ^^
Once again, I’m asking about ascended carrion and valkyrie trinkets.
Will this ever be implented?
This is the second time my guild had experienced this bug. In the last room in the Angvar guild puzzle, where you have to light the six totem shrines, the lindworm is often bugged. Maybe he attacks und follows the player with the egg, but if the first attempt fails and we try again, the lindworm doesn’t react anymore to the eggs and just lies there. It cost us two guild puzzles and is very frustrating.
Yes, I experienced that as well. It was very annoying and I couldn’t look very long on the screen.
This.
I’m no farmer, but I have nothing against farmers or farming per se. I just enjoy other playstyles. Before the champion loot, it wasn’t so important gold-wise to not do CoF over and over again. I did other things, mainly fractals, guild missions, other dungeons and leveling my alts. But I didn’t have the feeling I was missing out and I could still exchange gold for gems without bankrupting myself.
After the champion loot was introduced a lot changed. For the worse. Half of the guild is constantly farming the champions because you can never get the same amount of gold anywhere else in the game in this short amount of time. The hope, that dungeon participation would rise after the patch due to the change in dungeon rewards, didn’t get fulfilled. Instead, it got worse. And I hardly see anyone in map chats asking for dungeons, too.
I have nothing against the champion loot itself, I don’t want it gone (or nerfed), I just wish there were alternatives to it. Right now I don’t see them. Fractals or dungeons are not nearly as profitable as champion farming.
I just want a balanced reward system in the game, where I get rewarded for my playstyle even if it doesn’t involve farming champions. Before the patch I didn’t get the feeling I miss out on something, now I do and I can’t keep up with the trading post prices or gem/gold exchanges.
Our guild started the Proxemik Guild Puzzle mission. There was no other guild around and we run it with 6 guild members. All 6 finished and arrived in the last room within the time limit, all got the individual reward. 3 of the 6 guild members used the button in the end room to get teleported outside and stood in front of the entrance. The other 3 waited in the puzzle room till the clock ran out.
But still, it says the event failed and we didn’t get the guild reward. The mission is still in our mission tab. Another guild now started the puzzle mission after our countdown ran out. I can see their guild flag, but the starting pole still has our name on it.
Did we do something wrong? Is this a bug? This is at least the second time we didn’t get any merits for puzzle mission despite the fact minimum 6 guild players did finish it.
I like her voice and the character model of Scarlet. I know it is waaay over the top, but it is funny. What I really don’t like is her back story and how it is presented. I don’t mind a short story about her, but I think, it could have been presented better in the game. If you had Scarlet in mind as a villian since the Molten Alliance then it would have been possible to leave some clues around, let some people mention this super genius travelling through Tyria and learning from the best.
And her backstory basically reads like: she travels to a teacher, learns from them and then travels to the next. No mistakes and in everything she’s the best. You can have a fun over the top villian without this ridicilous backstory of her.
And I don’t see the point hiding her the last updates. I really thought she was someone we already knew. Like maybe Kasmeer or Kiel.
Wait, you say, didn’t they already implement this at the jubilee patch?
In my opinion… no.
I experience even less players are asking for dungeons then before the patch. 1g for most of the dungeons just isn’t comparable to champion farming. It didn’t give me an urge to play these dungeons, there was no sense of excitment as it is with the champion loot (we always looove to open random chests).
So, I suggest exclusive rare (tradeable) items in the chest at the end of a dungeon. Weapon/armor skins, rare recipes, minis etc. you can only get in those chests and it would be different for every dungeon. Of course with a small random chance. The idea isn’t new. I think, it worked well in GW1, the molten alliance dungeon had it and fractals, in some aspects, too.
You could even make it more complex and the end chest would sometimes drop one of 4 ingredients to new mystic forge recipes.
I know a lot of the dungeons could use an overhaul in regards to their gameplay mechanism and I heard we can expect that in this year, but I think the reward system in dungeons needs more balancing too, and it has to be more exciting than what we currently have.
I know we had this discussion last year where arena net wanted to give out items for gamescom visitors, but this was stopped because of all the outcry from players which couldn’t go to gamescom.
I wonder why they are trying it this year again…
I was there last year and didn’t get anything, they just had canceled the give aways. This year I had the chance to set my holiday around gamescom last week, but I didn’t do it. If you hand out a gamescom-only code, please announce it before gamescom.

I experienced something different yesterday with the invasions. I joined 10 minutes too late and the new overflow didn’t had the invasion, so I tried my luck guesting, because I needed fireheart rises to complete the meta achievement.
I picked a very low populated server and it was around midnight. 10 minutes in and they were still trying to do the first wave. My first thought (shame on me) was just, meh, they are never going to finish it in time, might as well just gather something for the daily and wait around, because running around in large groups, hopping from one event to the next, was getting too stressful for me, but then I just had to help out.
I discovered that there was only a small zerg, about a dozen players rallying around one commander, asking her/him where they should go next, but I mostly roamed free, trying to close portals with maybe one or two other players, sometimes alone.
And I thought to myself, this is how invasions are supposed to feel. Terrifying and desperate. I on the other hand was coming from a richly populated server, used to winning with ease, a pampered human guardian.
I ran to a portal, I was alone, but I tried anyway, because nobody else was gonna close it. I took two veterans and several smaller adds on, I was overwhelmed with a swarm of twisted creatures, I fled, hearing Scarlets laughter ringing over the map, that yes, I should better run for my life. No, I turned around, tried again, got downed, but was reliefed to see another player coming to my aid. A small asuran thief, she/he used a Shadow refuge, healed me just in time and that was that. We closed the portal and ran to the next one, still the first wave. The next event was behind a hill, but we could already see the big portal looming over it. Never mind all the fireheart rises enemies that wanted to kill us on our way. Behind the hill was one single twisted champion. I only had experience with these champions in a large zerg, hacking away at them and killing them very fast, never in any real danger. I had no idea about their real abilities and we were only two players. Anyway.. the asura was crazy enough to not even hestitate and just attack it. I couldn’t run away, she/he had helped me earlier, too, so I just went with it and started attacking. I used my scepter and focus with my guardian, run around in circles, dodged the firebreath. Sometimes just in time, sometimes.. not. Man, and the champ could hit. For the first time I really saw the complex animations of the twisted champs, but I had no time enjoying them.
It was a close call, but in the end we took him down! As I was cheering and getting my well earned chest, suddenly another champion came out of the portal, right on top of me and he had no patience for my shenaningans, hit me right away. Only then I noticed the Asura had not joined in the cheers, she/he had grabbed the loot fast and had waited at a distance, ready to strike again. Obviously experienced with facing the odds. Guess being on an underdog server does that to you.
We started fighting again. But the champion had not come alone, there were some adds and one veteran, too. I called for help in the map chat. After we had got the champ down to 50% help arrived, two other players. Even with them it took us a while, it required positioning, skills and teamwork. As soon as the champ was down and we had closed the portal, we ran away, scattered.
In the chaos I lost sight of my asuran helper, but I met other players, helped out where I could. There was a sturdy norn warrior facing swarms of twisted horrors alone, we fought side by side. He was a little bit faster running to the next portal, I got left behind, downed. He came back, revived me before I died. Then there was an arrogant necromancer, having a pool of undead creatures around her, wreak havoc to everything in her path. I always saw her in the distance, fighting a lone battle.
We managed to get to the second waves, there were cheers in the mapchat and I had the most fun since the new patch started. I didn’t get much loot besides the two champion chests and the one from the second wave reward, but for the first time I knew exactly where and how I’ve gotten those 3 chests and that was much more precious than the actual loot.
tltr: Just don’t follow the zerg and you get to experience all kinds of epic adventures ^^
You don’t want this to be temporary. You want it permanent. You want to add leaderboards, too. Who did it the fastest, who survived the longest (yeah, really, you should drop the 2minute time limit, while you’re at it – the game is too focused on Berserkers or bust as it is), all this seperated by class.
This is a great idea. I had similiar in mind, just like the mission challenges in GW1. You could even add new enemies or rewards every quarter of the year.
The gauntlet could enrich the game as permanent content in so many ways. It is sad that you want to keep it temporary. Maybe add a temporary boss every once in a while.
I get why they want this stuff to be temporary, to get players to return and/or stick with the game, but I think, something like the Gauntlet could easily accomplish this as permanent content. It could attract new players and keep older players around because they like the challenge. Something like the challenge missions in GW1.
Or maybe it could have a shorter return date. Something like every month for a short festival weekend.
Okay, this sounds good and I do hope we will see Queens Gauntlet return to certain times. But I’m still worried about the achievements for the Gauntlet and how difficult they are. With only 4 weeks (and smack in the middle of holiday summer) will we have enough time and chances to reach these achievements? I read about testers not being able to finish after several weeks trying, so I’m worried my experience with the Gauntlet will just be a frustated one because of this time pressure.
I already said this in another thread. I expected more from the elections. Some last minute scam from Evon maybe. Like vote 50 times for me and you get this cute mini or backpack. Something like this.
I didn’t really get the “Cutthroat” part of the event title. There was nothing cutthroat about it, no bickering between the two contestants, no back and forth, no surprise promise to turn things around, no revealed scandal. Some update ingame letters to inform players about the vote and the current poll data would have been nice, too. Maybe even a letter from Ellen or Evon to urge us to vote for them.
Basically they could have been done more to make the voting more exciting.
No, it was not a pirate election, it was rather uneventful.
First of, I really like the Survival and Arena mini game and I’m glad they will be around. I liked the cut scene and I loved Evon Gnashblades character portrait, the little detail with the bags that said vote for him and a little silver in it.
I didn’t like the candidate trials. Mostly because the chance to actually get an aether weapon was soooo slim.

This is getting ridiculous!
The gauntlet sounds amazing, and I welcome difficult achievement/content, but only for 4 weeks? And on top of that a waiting queue and needed tickets to participate?
What are you thinking? Why are you not listening? We want this to be permanent. We want a chance to enjoy this.
Nothing against seasonal or small and moderate challenging temporary content, but don’t combine almost impossible achievements with temporary content. It takes all the fun away und just leaves frustration.
This gauntlet minigame could be something a lot of players would be interested for months to come, even attract new players or get them to stay.
Now they added yet another new stat combo, Celestial…
Please just give us carrion and valykrie ascended jewelry. It can’t be that difficult to implement. Here are some name suggestions, if you are struggling with that ^^
Carrion:
Amuletts: Collar of Varesh, Jellyfish Pendant, Dryder Tooth Necklace
Accessoires: Mia’s Earring, Neersi’s Wine
Rings: Margonites Ring, Spiritwood Circle
Valkyrie:
Amuletts: Duncan’s Chain, Justiciar Emblem, Evennia’s Amulett
Accessoires: Urn of Saint Viktor, Moletariat Pamphlet
Rings: Morgahn’s Loyality, Deldrimor Ironband
I, again, can only agree to what Arkard is saying. I think there were similiar threads to this issue already in the forum, but they seem to have disappeared.
I very much would like it, if they finally implemented carrion and valkyrie stat ascended jewlery. It shouldn’t take very long to make these items and some players really want them for their chars.
Why do we have to wait for this soooo long?
I want an airship as a guildhall, that would be awsome ^^
Agreed. Right now you just stand around or running with the moas and that’s it. (Unless I’m missing something).
Not really a fun event.
This could have been easily made into a Rollerbeetle Race except with Moas and around a festive Lions’ Arch instance.
I don’t know, maybe the designers were busy with the dragonball, but I expected something completly different from the Moa Race and I’m disappointed. I don’t even care if this is made permanent.
I completely agree as well.
What I don’t get is the 180 turn that ANet has taken. They went from being the studio that had it’s finger on the pulse of MMO gamers, designing perhaps the best MMO in the history of the genre, to 2013 ANet, which seems like a clone of every other mediocre MMO development studio we’ve seen degrade the genre over the last decade.
I’m baffled.
I agree. I don’t know where it got wrong, but I don’t like the tone of the last events. Especially the achievements. They shouldn’t be the core of an event, but they start to make it towards that because of the rewards inside the achievements. At least give us meaningful achievements and not just rng luck or grinding.
At least that’s what I’m getting from it so far. Hope next week will be better.
I kind of miss achievements that aren’t a grind…
I’m happy to buy armor skins, mini pets and other fun fluff from the gemshop, even for money, IF I know what I get.
I don’t buy rng chests.
Nice to hear an answer from the team. I would love to see some new legendaries. Maybe some that are not so… playful and childish (like pistol or shortbow..). I know, they are funny, but not everyone wants a style like that for their legendary.
And I’m wondering, if we will see legendary armor in the near feature. Something prestige like the Obsidian armor.
You can now get this set through WvW, and even better, it’s just a skin which can be applied to any existing set without the need for a transmutation stone. It’s pretty cheap on a per-piece basis too.
To get these skins, go to your Borderlands, head directly south from the spawn point and talk to the “Armor Master [Armorsmith]”.
The skins are in the very last Buy tab.
Sorry, but I don’t see the commando set there.
Yes, most of the legendary weapons are too playfull or downright childish (shortbow, pistol anyone?). I want some more cool looking legendaries.
I agree. I would want to dye my weapon skins.
They look really good and I would want them in the game. But as a permanent option and not just a limited make over or something like that.
call me thick but what does RNG stand for?
Random Number Generator.
I really liked the concept of the Adventure Box rewards. You could get a tradeable weapon skin in a chest in one of the zones, but you could also trade the spheres for the same, but account bound, weapon skins. I hope we will see more of this concept. I like it far better than a 0,02% chance for a jetpack and mini in a 12-day limited dungeon…
