Dungeons.. Players skipping everything

Is this really how players are supposed to handle dungeons? Running through everything then abuse that mobs can’t jump? Seems to take the fun out of everything.

And you get flamed on if you don’t know every bug abuse in the game from the first time you enter a dungeon… You guys call this fun?

Something needs to be done about this. No wonder that this game is rumored to have no decent PvE.

because filthy casuals dont wanna learn the tells of about 200 unique bosses and would rather survive by sacrificing damage than memorizing when to dodge

and there are oh so many filthy casuals

The only thing filthy here is your language. Casuals are the prime market of the MMORPG genre.. The only reason why you can run full zerker is because everyone skips everything and abuses high ground and stealth to take off agro from mobs.

Because of this, dungeons are the worst part of the game.

Warrior 'use' in 1v1

in Warrior

Posted by: Chipster.6713

Chipster.6713

I don’t expect an ‘I win’ build but competing with other players in a 1v1 is the least that should be expected. I’m bored of being pistolled to death at range, cloaked on and diced by a thief that can kill me even when invisible, or fighting an 3 man army in the form of a damage dealing, range uber zerked mesmer.

Here’s a few tips:
- Use your sorroundings. Hide behing rocks, pillars everything while you wait for your cooldowns to recharge.
- Sword/shield is amazing. Great brust when enemy is below 50%, leap, stun, block. I just can’t PvP without it anymore.
- When in doubt, spec hammer. With the right setup, you can crit on almost every hit without having to get zerk gear.
-Play different classes in sPvP and learn what they can do. I used to think that thieves were extremely overpowered, but then I tried one and learned how to counter them. GW2 is probably the only MMORPG in the world that lets you do competitive PvP with a class at level 1, so why not take full advantage of it.
- Observe your opponent and count how many times they dodge roll to keep track at their endurance. Look at their boons and hold back your burst when they have protection.
- You can win the fights by doing your best to stay alive. Don’t just rush headless into fights that you obviously can’t win.

Whatever anyone says, Ascended weapons are the MUST for every high level
character, now I’ve been playing this game for awhile, I’m not once felt like I
was forced to do something I don’t really want, like grinding, but with the new
update everything suddenly changed. I have FULL ascended trinkets on my main
character, and almost full on another, that wasn’t easy, but prices and everything
were VERY reasonable, but now I have to pay about 200g to up my ONE prof. 400-500
not saying I have EVERY prof. up for 400, each cost me just 10g and some karma, and
now I have to pay 600g!!! if I want each to 500? What kind of bullcrap is that?

Not saying how much should I grind, 600 Ancient Wood, and 400 Ori Ore + 100 Globs,
just for Artificer? How am I supposed to play game now? Every time I log-in, I feel
like only thing left to do for me is stupid farm and I just logging out. This is kitten
stupid. I can’t afford to gear up my main character, but I can’t even imagine, how
badly screwed players with multiple characters…

I guess only thing I have left is to give up this game and find new one, with less grind,
it was a reason why I got GW2 in first place, and now this game just like others grinder
MMOs… Too frustrating.

So you want to play an MMORPG where there ois no grind? Good luck with that. Even the casual game that is WoW has grinds in it. There you have to enchant and gem every item you get.

Ascended weapons are to be considered a long time goal, just like legendaries. If your goal isn’t to get one of those items, then you’re better off playing Tetris or Super Mario..

,,We dont want players to do boring stuff and grinding to get to good stuff" Those are exact words of Anet employees at the begining of game. Well…..so much for them…

If you keep doing the stuff that you used to, you will eventually end up having everything you need for an ascended weapon. It’s not the sort of grind where you farm fire elementals for 3 weeks straight and nothing else. You can still do dungeons, WvW and everything else while having a higher goal in mind.

World bosses were left alone during the champ buff, but now they’re being downed again because people need the mats from them. It’s an exellent way to make sure that the playerbase will keep everything active instead of just sticking with champ farm.

There are much more better ways how they could add ascended weapons and that is the problem. They chose worst style: Framing and grinding. Crafting weapons themself is not the that big problem….still is small, but to lvl profession from 400 to 500 is horrible.

They’ve reset the discovery of exotic items. That should easen things up.. But think of it this way: Every step you take is getting you closer to your ascended weapon. You can’t just rush it. This will also make that item more special to you when you finally equip and wield it.

I gotta say, as much as I was looking forward to ascended weapons, I am really disappointed with their execution. As a casual player (once or twice a week), I have enjoyed that I don’t have to participate in a gear grind to stay at the peak of the game. Ascended weapons unfortunately have killed that. It will take me months to craft even one ascended weapon at my rate of play, not to mention what it will take in time and resources to outfit several characters with several weapons.

This to me seems a major departure from the kind of game Anet has told us they intend to make for their players. No gold stars from me on this one.

Say what? We finally have something to play for. There’s been nothing except doing dailys for laurels. About time that some serious end game goals came to place. You can still play the game the same way you always did, except now you have a higher goal when doing dungeons, champion farms etc.
The game definetly needed a boost like this, since there was really no way to upgrade your character, nor anything really to play for. I was about to quit out of sheer boredom, that my character could no longer be upgraded except for laurel gear.
I welcome this change with open arms and I can’t wait for ascended armor to kick in as well !!

Spirit Rangers, prepare yourselfs for nerf

Chipster.6713

We’ll get to watch them nerf Spirit Rangers across the board like they did BM Rangers, despite them being very bad in PVE and World vs World

Well we all by now know that anet devs hardly give a kitten about Pve / WvW balance, all they care about is s/tpvp and ESPORTSSSSSSS. When it comes to balance spvp gets the most attention because the quality of pve balance is kittens

Yknow I’d take you seriously if you didn’t block your name out on the forums where your account name is broadcasted publicly…

That screen was for a diffrent forum, annonymous forum. If you insist on the real screen here it is. Enjoy looking at it, it still wont change the fact that spirit ranger build is overpowered and more and more people are going to complain about it until it gets nerfed.

.. But you lost the match ;-)
I’ve also had sky rocket scores on my elementalist, where we ran in a large group and took down enemies one by one since they attacked us 1 vs 5 every time.
Your screenshot doesn’t prove that rangers are overpowered.. if anything, it just proves that pug teams are bad at assisting each other.

There are worse things than spirit rangers out there… like thieves perma backstabbing for 5k while remaining invisible due to ‘Cloak and Dagger’ having no cooldown… Or bunker warriors with 1k regen per sec with a 7 second CD stun/100b combo.

Honestly, at this point, I’d just be happy with a perma-stow option and that damage given back to the Ranger so they don’t have to worry about designing any content around the pet.

This would be the easiest solution and I would even applaud it if it was only a temporary one untill they find a way around it.
Adding auto- dodges, aoe resist etc. will require a lot more work on Anets part.

I’ve stopped playing my ranger for that exact reason.

Spirit Rangers are OP!

in Ranger

Posted by: Chipster.6713

Chipster.6713

WHY are they OP? HOW would you fix them?

From all the complaints, it looks like the real problem is just condition spam and bunker builds… which have been the primary complaint for 6 months now?

It’s not that they have a single skill that is overpowered by itself.. It’s the combination of skills that make them a very strong opponent.
- They can keep burning and poison up and running with ease.
- The pets draw the conditions from the ranger
- Sword evade skills
- Great boons from spirits.

This combination makes them very hard to kill while they have access to burning and poison which they can keep up pretty much all the time. They just have to evade like a freak and reapply them the whole fight.
You can’t outheal the insane amount of burning damage because the poison just screws you over.

It’s an extremely easy thing to do. While you have to time things perfectly with other classes, a spirit ranger doesn’t have to do much work to succeed and has a lot of room for failure.

Do you think the warrior could stalemate it 60+ seconds? My impression is that spirit rangers kill slowly, especially against a warrior with good cleanses (cleansing ire).

Stance warriors have no cleanses..

Chipster.6713

This is going to be a touchy subject, so I’m going to say as little as possible so as to avoid insulting anyone (even though no insult is intended). The number of complaints I’m seeing about Liadri brings to light the conditioned state of (seemingly) most gamers. They want easy, accessible content and they want to be able to complete everything (so as to maximize achievements or loot or just to feel good about themselves).

On the other end of the spectrum are the players who genuinely want to be challenged. The fact that some players have defeated Liadri says she can be defeated. The fact that many players are complaining that she’s an unfair fight says that defeating her requires skill.

That leaves us with two groups of players directly opposed to one another, and the developers cannot – no matter how much they’d like to – please both at once. They’re either going to release content that is easy enough for virtually anyone to complete or they’re going to release challenging content that leaves less-skilled players crying foul. Either way, someone’s going to feel alienated.

I’m of the belief that the game (all games, for that matter) need tougher content that require a greater display of skill to complete. I don’t necessarily like the idea of content being locked behind difficult achievements (this is coming from a guy who had access to Sea in FFXI when that actually meant something), but I have no problems at all with achievements/achievement points or cosmetic items being reserved for the very best players.

The problem arises in the conditioning of players these days. Now I recognize there are many players who fail something like Liadri and say to themselves, “well, I’m just not good enough. Bravo to those who beat her,” and move on with their gaming lives. But these also seems to be a vocal group (who knows how large they actually are?) who believe effort or desire, and not skill, should determine whether or not one is able to accomplish every achievement or obtain every reward. It’s strikes me as a sense of entitlement, and I can see where it would put the developers between a rock and a hard place.

Thoughts? If you respond, please do so in a civil and constructive manner. Thanks.

PS – This thread shouldn’t offense anyone, but these days you never can tell. So I’m sorry if I ruffled any feathers with my post; that was not my intention.

What you call skill is what I call clever abuse of in-game mechanics..
All people ever do is rush dungeons, finding bug spots, where they can rush to in order to skip mobs, then do the bosses ( that they also know a certain abusive way to defeat).

People who do it the old fashioned way are, by your standards, called “unskilled?”

The first time I saw the wurm in Caledeon Forest, it wasn’t on my radar at all. Out of nowhere, I’m doing this event, and this giant wurm came out of the ground, almost right on top of me. It was early on in the game and I never forgot that feeling.

How could it change? By Anet having some events that don’t always repeat, but happen rarely, randomly, and without warning, scattered around the world. It’s a lot of work to make it happen, but it would definitely be cool.

No doubt. It would indeed provide an awesome gameplay experience.. But I can’t help thinking, what are we supposed to do when there is no wyrm spawning? It’s not like escorting a caravan for 200 karma points is something I would use my day off on.. The zones will remain empty untill there’s something besides the bosses to do in those zones. it has to be important if the bosses should just be a bonus to being in that area.

And the chances that you were at that very place at the right time is very slim. You might never had seen that wyrm with that huge spawn time. I didn’t see any of the bosses while leveling my first character to 80. I had to search google, browsing home pages untill I finally found out how, where and when to go to them.

I do realize that the current system is not challenging and people with ranged weapons can pretty much /afk autoshot. Tbh it’s not really any more different than the zerkfest that is raidfinder in WoW. But I just don’t see how it can be drastically changed.

In another game I play from time to time one of the world bosses moves around. As in around the zone. You cannot afk autoattack a boss that moves away. In order to take this boss out players generally coordinate so that groups stalk his known stopping points while asking for sightings in zone chat. I’m not suggesting that every boss hop around his zone, but there are ways to ensure that people are not akitteng (AFK’ing) encounters.

It sounds great, but I can’t help but being sceptic
Let’s say that we implement those bosses in GW2: I guess those bosses have spawn times as well. They are not just there 24/7 I imagine. If people learn their spawn timers, they will farm them the same way.

It would just be a question about players splitting up and running around in zones searching for the bosses and write in chat “found him”.
You cannot prevent efficient players from playing efficient.

The main reason for the /afk shoot’n’loot is the huge numbers of players doing these things. Trust me, I’ve tried taking on shatterer with only me and 2 other people. It wasn’t possible. On the other hand, the difficulty isn’t scaled for 100+ people constantly providing boons, cleanses and a ton of damage.

I understand your point, perfectly. There’s no easy answer to this. Those events are completely ruined for some people, even if they’re not ruined for you. There have been several threads about it on the forums, none of them by me.

But getting people into the zone, so they can AFK until the dragon appears and then hit 1 and AFK to get their free gold doesn’t strike me as being great for the game either. Sure they’re out in the world…but so what.

The real answer would be to make something else more profitable, so that not everyone does just that…at least I think that’s the answer.

But whether it works for you or not doesn’t stop it from being a problem for the game.

I can see things from your side as well and I understand what you want.
It would indeed be cool if we had tons of things to do in the open world and suddenly out of nowhere, a huge boss appears.

The closest we can get to this is queensdale where people farm champion mobs (for some strange reason) and then behemoth spawns.. But the harsh truth about this is; You’re barely informed about him. There could be a sound or a map ping about it, because when you’re doing another event, you won’t see it on the “zone status”.. Currently you’ve got players typing in /map behe spawned (when he’s at 50% health).. and before you can even get to him, he’s dead and you missed out. The timers at least prevent this.

I do realize that the current system is not challenging and people with ranged weapons can pretty much /afk autoshot. Tbh it’s not really any more different than the zerkfest that is raidfinder in WoW. But I just don’t see how it can be drastically changed.

Take the dragon events. They were sort of fun before Anet increased the rewards. They went from relatively fun events to horrible zerg events. The loot effectively destroyed the events, but they were more popular than ever. I don’t think Anet ever saw their game as a loot train…but they still made the change.
.

The dragon events? They were completely empty before the bonus chest came along. It was to a point where I actually quit the game because 90% of the time, I was the only guy there and my guildies didn’t want to come, because the “rewards” it gave weren’t even enough to cover the waypoint cost.

I think the loot increase was for the better. It has set the prices on Black lion higher and that’s a good thing. I had countless times tried to sell crafting mats there that couldn’t even go past vendor price. The game is not perfect but it’s getting better.

On my server, we often found enough people to do those events. But we didn’t do them on a treadmill.

Chancing upon stuff like that makes the world feel alive (which is what Anet is reportedly going for). Finding a timer, and following a zerg trivializes the content. I’m not the only one who feels this way. Right now, most of the meta events are jokes.

So I guess you haven’t explored the world yet. I have seen it all twice and it didn’t impress me much the second time. You’re not going to find me goofing around in the world doing nothing and then suddenly an event appears 5 minutes before I have to go to work. I have limited playtime and logging in daily to check timers and see if I can participate in an event and doing my dailies is, most of the time, all the time I can spare. So it works for me.

If we follow your suggestion and all timers should be shut down, then all events should give boss chests and bonus chest, otherwise you would have absolutely no chance of getting those. It’s not like there’s anything else to do in this game except for PvP and farming dungeons. At least it makes people go out in the open world and doing something there.

Thereā€™s a middle ground though. You can be in a smaller group with guildies, which many people enjoy (where as they donā€™t necessarily enjoy running with a zerg). So itā€™s not just play alone or play with a zerg.

You can play with friends and not zerg

The zerk is a side effect to the events actually giving something rather than before. I agree it isn’t challenging at all, but it indicates that it’s still worth doing.

Very well said.

To be honest the whole concept for this game is getting narrowed by the players most of all. It’s all about farming, looting, chests and farming… it’s not about venturing and traveling where you enjoy the atmosphere and events along the way anymore.

You can compare it to the way Diablo 2 was. "Run through tristram in a big group. Run through Cows, do baalruns etc. It’s all about having a big group rushing and smashing things while getting a reward for it. I don’t know why it’s fun but it is. It beats having to run alone for hours without anything happening. That way the game will die pretty kitten fast.

The world is only that big and the impressions of discovering it and seeing the dragons for the first time won’t last forever. You will get to a point where you need efficiency. On that note, I think it’s lazy from the developers that we need a 3rd party site to keep track of the boss events going on.

It’s impossible to carry a bad team by yourself. You can only be one place at a time, and this is conquest mode. Points have to be held. You may be able to get a lot of kill pts by yourself, but you cannot assure the win with that kind of play.

This!
I’ve played several matches where people don’t care to even write in team chat.. Or where they just fight all over the place like headless chickens and are nowhere near any of the capture points.

I am still unconvinced of that. And saying condition damage is lazy, inattentive gameplay reeks of lack of skill.

Claiming that it’s is lazy or inattentive is perhaps an exaggeration. Spike damage is just easier to counter due to it’s predictability.
I’ve been hit for an insane amount of burning and bleeding damage even though I’m running with an anti-condition spec. I’ve also been hit by some serious backstabs and eviscerates, but that’s mostly because I lost focus and didn’t counter it properly.

Skilled players can keep conditions on me even though I dodge and block the most dangerous attacks. I can pop stamina signet and beserker stance when I’m all decked out in conditions, but it only takes a few seconds untill they are suddenly up and running on me again.

Even with Hoelbreak runes and high health regen, they still tear do a very noticable amount of damage and good rangers just tear right through me with that burning+poison combination.

I don’t understand. I reached 80 on my second character last week I have all my exotics the only thing left is to grind for ascended gear. But what is the excitement in grinding so long for something so boring? I have a wvw guild. WvW can be really fun sometimes! But most of the time it is dry zerg vs zerg running into each other… how is that pvp? Where is the skill in that? There is really nothing left in pve no rewards except a couple weapon and armor skins. I have to say one thing, when you are 80 and look exactly like you want to look like what do you do? If WvW isn’t your thing what is left for you in this game? I have absolutely loved this game for the 4 months i’ve played it but now I just really don’t know what to do? Where is the end game?

I completely understand you, because I’m in that same position and the same goes for my friends who also used to play this game. I came to the conclusion that these types of MMOs don’t fit the type of player that I am. I want progression, not makeup. There are a lot of these types of games on the market atm. (Warframe being one of them) and that’s not a bad thing. I’m just not the target group for that type of game and it seems that neither are you.
I don’t fancy farming for 100+ hours just to change the colour of my sword. I want the stats as well, so that I can feel it’s newfound power and thereby feel that my time invested was not in vain.

Why I think you're losing active players

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Chipster.6713

Just some simple feedback to Anet; not looking to trollbait or debate folks who reply here. And FWIW, I’m a “fanboy” and think GW2 has been truly one of the best MMOs since the genre began. I’ve been playing them for that long and have played or beta-tested most of them. And I have 5 level 80 chars here in GW2 with three of them fully-tricked out in exotics or better. And I have participated heavily in all end game content, especially WvW. (Well, I never bothered with SPvP; not my thing.)

GW2 had the potential to keep me, my spouse, my longtime casual “family and friends” guild of 9 years, and my longer-time -very large and successful- hardcore PvP guild of 13 years still actively playing even now, past the 5-6 month mark where most of us have finally hit the saturation point. Even in the face of all the new 2013 MMOs that are about to come out (I’m beta testing no less than 3 different ones this weekend.)

But your endgame content frankly fails on three very simple accounts:

1. Your dungeon content has no “middle ground” difficulty level for less skilled players. Some of you will flame this post and say that the dungeon content is “too easy” even now, but I’ve got 20 people from my longtime casual guild who will beg to differ. A guild that did fine even on the middle tier of The Secret World (“elite” difficulty) and in other games struggled -greatly- with the overall difficulty of all GW2 dungeon content. Fractals were a bit better (easier) in the lower sub-10 difficulty levels, but the time investment to finish all three + jade maw to get any substantial reward is too heavy to accomodate the realities of gameplay windows for casual gamers. I’ll say it plainly and frankly: I know he means well, but Robert Hrouda should not be influencing or guiding your dungeon design in any way, because he does not understand the needs or capability of the typical “casual” gamer. Every one of my 20-member casual guild universally hates the standard dungeon design here: the stupid, senseless way they’re made difficult (and too much so), and the terrible “all or nothing” reward design. I’ve never heard good things from my large PvP guild either. Not -one- compliment for the dungeon design here out of the nearly 500 people I know who have played this game. Robert: Are you listening? Do better next time.

2. Money is too tight and the economy is too expensive. I’ve invested more than 1000 total hours in the game and have 5 level 80 characters. I’ve -never- had more than 20 gold in reserve at any one time. I have no hope whatsoever of ever attaining a legendary weapon for any one character. The costs are just way too far out of reach. Outfitting a single character in full exo gear is just stupid expensive and I’ve always resorted to grinding slowly for yellows, breaking them down with BL Salvage kits for ectos, and regularly scouring Orr and FG for ori and ancient wood. It’s slow and time consuming. Ultimately, it has made it -impossible- for me to experiment with different builds and gearing combinations. I’ve had to make a decision every time: will this character be focused on WvW or on dungeons? I couldn’t try the same class in both environments because I couldn’t acquire the two sets of gear necessary to do so.

3. Your “guild challenge” content completely excludes small casual guilds from the process. The unlock costs are incredibly and urealistically high for a smaller casual guild. After 6 months of spending our influence on very little (overall), we couldn’t even afford the very first unlock when you rolled that content out. That was the final nail in the coffin for my small guild. We didn’t enjoy your dungeon content as a group activity, and we were holding on only to see if the “guild challenge” content would keep us engaged. Nope: you left us out in the cold.

Anyway, I’m trying to keep this feedback relatively short. At this point you’ve lost my entire casual guild and my hardcore PvP guild. There are a few of us who still log in a few times a week to mess around and check whether the Daily that day will be fast and easy, but that’s about it. Most of us are already looking for the next game. I suppose you could say “hey, keeping you around for 5-6 months is pretty good for an MMO these days”. And that would be totally true. GW2 is a really strong game. The real point of this post is that if your end-game design were more casual-friendly in the three aspects listed above, you would have kept us engaged for much longer than that.

Dungeons are not very hard.. It’s all about placing your traits right and using the right skills. If you’re running a party with lots of boon support from everyone and a positive mind, then no task is too challenging in this game.

I think it’s a matter of how much boredom you are willing to go through to get it done. I personally don’t see any point in doing map completion.

Has Guild Wars 2 become a grind?

It is a question which I would like answered.
- First of all: My personal and overall experience of Guild Wars 2 has been quite good. That being said, I can’t help but feel that it is a grind and here is why:
Each zone has a number of tasks, vistas, points of interest, skill point challenges and waypoints. Find all of these in each zone and you’re done with that particular zone, rendering it, well, useless afterwards.

- There is very little to catch my interest in the zones, because I never really got acquainted with them. By that I mean that in Guild Wars 2 I am always on the go. There is one task in the different areas of the zone, so you’re not spending much time in a village and getting to know the people there or the village itself.

- This basically means that I spend more time trying to locate every task, vista, Skill point challenge, PoI and waypoint in each area, than just enjoying the scenery, because GW2 is fast paced when it comes to world exploration. The player is always on the go, always grinding for something, always working towards a goal.
- I would like to see the game giving players the option of taking it slow and try to relax a little.

- What do you guys think about this? If you take into account what I’ve just said, is there then some things you recognize from it?

tbh there is no grind, because there is nothing to grind for. I don’t want those ugly designed legendaries. I would, if they were better items, but they aren’t.

Game feels incredibly anti-melee.

It seems like every group event, and dungeon I have participated in heavily favors ranged players.

Is there any advantage to playing melee character at all?

Has Arena Net addressed this problem at all?

The damage and the area effect damage. I run a banner warrior and I have constant regeneration. Keeping myself alive is not a problem.

If you run glass cannon, then yes, it’s a pain to be a melee. Otherwise not so much. I can only speak of warrior perspective though.

Can you provide specific examples of non-soloable events? At scale 1, they’re all soloable, or should be. Are other players in the area scaling up the event without helping?

What scale are the dragons supposed to be? Because I can solo Tequatl the Sunless, but none of the other two. Sure it takes a lot of time to get him down, but I have done it.

What is the point of glass cannon?

I think they were just bad. I know that I’m not a good enough player to run berserker or rampager gear on melee in dungeon-level content but I’m more than capable of it on my ranger and engy. Some people are good enough to do it and everyone wins.

You can mix it up a bit. I’m running with full beserker armor, but knight weapons for the toughness and soldier jewels. It works perfectly fine for me, it’s because people are too narrow minded. They think they ONLY have to do damage, because that’s what a dps does in WoW.

I will never understand why people would prefer to go full offensive without ANY vit/tough and constantly grief the team they’re in. I was just in AC with 3 glass cannon warriors, and wow that was the most horrendous experience I’ve ever encountered. I don’t see how glass cannon even helps the team if you’re constantly going down, even IF you put out burst damage before being flicked by the slightest enemy.

Just why?

Because people are selfish and silly. I have several times been the only one providing buffs to my group, even when fighting dragons where there are sometimes over 50 players, I’m still the only one proving boons and banners. Any player that doesn’t just change a few skill in favor of the group is not worth taking. People don’t understand that an alive player does more damage than one who constantly has to ress and run

Never healing again...

Chests and rewards in general

The problem with chests is that if they’re buffed, bots will just farm chests…

so in short, everything that bots can do is also ripped from normal players…

This. They are letting bots control the loot.
I don’t get how they can have so much trouble banning bots in the first place. They could hire a single guy to check out zones that are heavily farmed by bots, whisper the suspected players. If they don’t answer, but keep on moving around and killing stuff, then whisper a warning “this is a GM speaking to you. If you don’t reply then you’re getting a 3 day ban for using 3rd party software. If it continues, then you’re permanently banned.”

See how easy that was? I could swipe the game from bots pretty darn fast. It’s not like it’s a crowded game anyway, they should be pretty fast to get a hold of.

I think this is an excellent basis for the foundational problems with the game. Try and read it objectively and see if you agree.

I can’t understand his issue on the “roles” part. It’s pretty simple: There are no roles.
I play D&D board game and have done that for the past 15 years. There are no roles there either, just the classes and what they bring to the table. The fact that you need to be able to stay alive on your own and assist your team mates in the best way possible is not new to me. It might be new to a guy with WoW as him/her only RPG experience, but those players are usually pretty narrow-minded anyway.

The rest is just personal preference I guess. I haven’t completed my story, but that’s not because I find it weak, I just find the rewards for it non-existent . The same thing goes with crafting. I’m gonna loose more gold by crafting than I’m gonna gain from it.

There are far worse issues with the game than those mentioned in that review..

Greetings here,

So, here is my statement : Norn female are far too pretty. They look like models. And I’m not only talking about their real hot body (Did you take a look at those boobies ? Gosh, with the Tier 1 cultural chestpiece, when I see a norn female running, it’s like time has stopped… seeing those poor constricted melons yelling “free me ! It’s so tight in here !” always bring a tear to my eyes), but mostly about their faces. Those are only cute dolls faces.
