I get my dailies just by playing the game the way I want to.
I don’t feel like I have to get any ascended gear because there isn’t really any gated content (I just do low fractal levels so no need for higher gear). It is just a nice extra goal for me to have.
I must be doing it wrong.
Until the patch notes, I remain optimistic that I will see something I can get excited about.
But after the last two patches, I wouldn’t be shocked if that there isn’t.
Server 1: “We only lost because you guys cheated/we were troll.”
Server 2: “No, we won because we are stronger then you and obviously superior.”
Next week…
Server 2: “You guys cheated/we were trolled and that is the only way you won, you don’t deserve to win.”
Server 1: “No, we were just better and that is all there is to it.”
I don’t think there will be anything special.
It feels like I’ve been getting a lower amount, but I haven’t been playing much lately so it is hard for me to tell.
Good. No more overflows.
I don’t think that would work. Someone may end up quoting the ignored person and you would end up seeing their post.
They liked it in other games, so they want to add it to their new favorite game. It makes perfect sense, but I do agree mounts do not fit in GW2.
That is just it. Just because they liked it in other games, does not mean it should be added.
GW2 is a different game with different elements. People need to understand this.
That sucks, but unique items do say they are unique. Better luck next time.
We don’t need player housing. Other games have it, go play those instead.
I really have to wonder, why do people start playing a game that is different from all the others out there, then try to turn it in to “the other game” that they like to play so much? If you like the other game so much, go play that and leave us alone. GW2 has been perverted enough by players trying to turn it in to another clone, enough is enough. Go away.
I completely agree.
It is like the whole “player housing” movement. Why do people want that in this game? They already have it in other games, we don’t need it here.
And if this were even considered, I would expect Story Mode to start granting Laurels.
I want Laurels for just standing in Lion’s Arch doing nothing.
I’ve never had a problem with multiple currencies as long as they are simple to remember.
My only concern is that if they continue to add more, it may get to the point where it becomes difficult for newer players to understand the system.
I’d love to see more actual story to these, but with how the personal story was done, I don’t hold my breath.
Nerf necros while you are at it. /sarcasm
I don’t feel this way at all.
I only play on one or two characters, since I hate repeating content if it can be avoided, and I’m taking my time with them. There is nothing forcing me into any direction. I play the game the way I want to on my characters.
The only thing I have an issue with are the dailies and monthly. They can sometimes feel like a grind. Thankfully, I usually complete them by just playing the game.
They had given notice that she was being removed late February in the last patch.
Content is usually removed or added with a patch. They give a patch date of February 26th (late February).
I’m not sure what the misunderstanding here would be.
I have no issues with the current currency system. There is nothing complex or difficult to it. Every currency is linked to a specific part of the game and it is very easy to keep track that way.
I will say that if they keep adding different currencies, it may get to a point that is overwhelming for newer players.
You’re complaining about people complaining? You must be in one of the big guilds that won’t be affected by this.
Nope. My guild has about 8 people. We are not unhappy about this as it still gives us a goal to work for.
Us small guilds just feel overlooked based on our preconceived perceptions. If the initial comments used to set the mental stage for the way this was going to be rolled out were more accurate, there would be a lot less resentment.
Still, you will still be able to participate in the content so there should not be this much resentment for everyone.
Way too much complaining.
Smaller guilds will still be able to participate in this content when another guild with the correct requirements starts a mission. Also, the other missions may have different pre-requirments.
This update brings more focus to all type of guilds. You want your small guild (5ish members) to be able to initiate the content? Then work together as a guild and get the influence.
Norn/Charr Warrior. I have a harder time on my Norn.
Give every profession a taunt that only lasts for a few seconds and has a massive cooldown. Does not work in PVP.
I’m surprised people still boast about questing in GW2. It seems like a clear case of the emperor’s new clothes.
I recently tried to pick up GW2 again and got instantly bored of collecting apples, trapping fish, and killings spiders. Removing a quest giver doesn’t suddenly make boring quests more interesting.
Change a ! into a heart and people will believe that the quests are magically 100% more fun even with the same overused content.
Yes, because when people are talking about questing in this game, they are clearly talking about ONLY the heart quests…. /rolleyes
Perhaps you prefer to have ! over people heads and go complete the quest and turn it in and nothing changes in the game at all over having a dynamic event system where success or failure can make changes around you, and even have another event happen based on what happened before. Every one of my characters had some differences in each zone that another character didn’t see, this is something that cannot be said about every other MMO. Every other MMO is just the Heart Quests, at least GW2 is more then JUST the heart quests.
It is the dynamic event system that makes it more interesting, not the heart quests.
My bad, I did forget that there are dynamic events…
They also follow the “kill this many, pick this many, go here” setup. I suppose my statement can be applied to dynamic events as well, just change the “heart” into an orange circle, orange crossed swords, orange basket, ect.
There are a few DEs that are different and I give them props for that. Too bad they all couldn’t feel different.
There are some flaws to the Warrior, but I’m overall happy.
I would be willing to take a hit in damage for some more utility though.

Wait, why do we need mounts, again?
Because some individuals harbor a desperate, undying (you can even call it “risen”) need to mount things, perhaps because it’s something they can’t do outside of video games.
Once I can ride a Charr while wearing a tinfoil hat, I can die happy.
The riding broom is pretty fun and cheap. There needs to be more cosmetic mounts.
I’ve been playing my Warrior more anyway. Bring on the nerfs.
Elementalists will be nerfed to the level of Engineers and Rangers eventually. While they will still have their usefulness in some areas, they’ll be far less effective.
I disagree. Nothing is perfect.
It is definitely a mount.
I hope to see more cosmetic mounts in the future.
I’m all for cosmetic mounts. I love collection mounts.
Perhaps; but if you read some of Jonathan’s most recent replies in these forums, he says they’re going to examine AoE on a weapon by weapon basis. They have no intention of making certain weapon combos worthless, rather, they want to create more incentive to use other weapons (for Elementalist, I imagine that means a buff to scepter).
I would welcome a buff to scepter (focus would be nice too) in exchange, but I’ll believe it when I see it.
AoE for the 4 areas (IMO):
sPvP: AoE seems to be powerful only in certain situations (bunker build comes to mind). Otherwise, it just dies out. I rarely play sPvP with my Elementalist, so I don’t have too much to go on.
PvE (open world): AoE does seem strong. AoE tagging makes it hard for single target focused characters to get a tag in on mobs during events. With 5+ people focusing AoE onto a single group of mobs and causing them to die within seconds, it just doesn’t feel right.
Dungeons: Depending on the dungeon, AoE could either be a blessing or overkill. If a group wants to try to kill all the available mobs (trash) and not spend all day doing so, AoE is currently needed. Some fights AoE speeds it up quickly and makes the fight a little boring (some fractals).
WvW: Unless the idea is to make it ZvZ, AoE is needed. If there is any nerf to AoE, zergs will just be a little harder to beat and will require a counter zerg. You don’t like the idea that people are throwing AoE on a downed player and causing a lot of damage when others try to revive them? Add some counter-measures that the players can use to help avoid the AoE damage, but don’t nerf the damage.
As an addition: If you are going to nerf AoE, allow Elementalists to swap weapons at least. Not that it will do any good, but it would allow for more skills and it might balance things out.
With the AoE nerf coming up, which could be due to a knee-jerk response to this video, Elementalists will be nerfed as well. Zerg will become OP once more.
I don’t disagree that AoE is powerful but a major nerf to it will just cause more balancing problems. As an Ele, I have no real choice but to AoE.
If a major nerf happens, I’ll stop playing the only class I have fun with and eventually stop playing all together.
I think this is mainly a nerf towards Elementalists and they will get hit the hardest. The other classes will receive minor nerfs.
If WvW maps were part of the world, why can’t we see it on the map when you’re in Tyria. They are instances, like dungeons. Dungeons don’t count for the world completion, WvW maps shouldn’t either.
They aren’t part of Tyria.
If WvW doesn’t belong to the world why do you get all of the bonuses won in WvW all the times that you kill a mob, gather a resource, craft a item or heal some damage?
Now that is a valid way to show the connect between WvW and PvE. That does give more merit to having PvE elements in WvW.
If you have an issue with MF gear, you should make it clear up front that you do not want anyone using it. If they insist on still using it, then kicking is fine.
So there is no need to argue this any further until someone comes up with a better reason than , “I do not like PvP”.
PvE players taking up WvW player slots and not playing WvW? This was posted above.
This is another BS excuse. How many PvE players do you really think are going to be taking up spots in WvW for days upon days. I highly doubt that many.
Count me as a PvE player taking up a WvW spot. I do my dailies in WvW and only attack someone if they come near.
People haven’t answered even why do they want to have map completition if they don’t want to complete the map.
Some want to have map completion and they completed the map, myself included. It took me a transfer to get a last POI, but I got it in the end.
This doesn’t mean that we think having PvE elements in PvP is a good design. I am personally against it.
Currently, you have to access WvW to get 100% map completion. Some people feel that map completion is a PvE element and has no place in a PvP element (WvW). The main reason for this is because you can complete almost the entire map through PvE means and a small chunk requires you to access WvW.
That is flawed logic. Map completition would be a PvE activity because most of it requires PvE – is that the main argument? It’s a very weak one – the fact map completition requires exploration of all the WvW maps proves it’s also a WvW activity.
This is the crux of the issue. Map completition isn’t a PvE only activity. Why should it be?
Just because something is, doesn’t mean it should be. You are taking the stance that since it currently is, it means it is absolutely correct and cannot be at fault and the burden of proof is on the person opposing it.
All of this is just my opinion in the end. Since I can complete a majority of the map in PvE, I should be able to finish it in PvE as well. I like to keep my PvP separate from my PvE.
We can complete 90%, or whatever it is, of the world by PvE. A huge majority. Why should players who do not want to PvP have to finish this by accessing a mode such as WvW? It is a poor design.
Why should players who do not want to explore the entire world be able to achieve 100% map completition? You speak as if world completition had any other value other than being a symbol of how you have explored everything. If you have not explored everything, you won’t get it. The issue is…?
I think are missing the whole drive behind this argument.
Currently, you have to access WvW to get 100% map completion. Some people feel that map completion is a PvE element and has no place in a PvP element (WvW). The main reason for this is because you can complete almost the entire map through PvE means and a small chunk requires you to access WvW.
For this reason, if you do not like PvP and never enter WvW, you can never complete your map. This means no Gift of Exploration, no Title, no in-game achievement and no personal achievement.
I happen to agree and think that world completion should mean the actual world and not a side area that is instanced in and where the focus changes from fighting the environment to fighting other players.
It just doesn’t make sense to force someone to play when they don’t care for PvP
Again, ArenaNet isn’t forcing anything.
People who want to get 100% map completition are simply claiming they do not want to complete 100% of the map.
That makes no sense.
We can complete 90%, or whatever it is, of the world by PvE. A huge majority. Why should players who do not want to PvP have to finish this by accessing a mode such as WvW? It is a poor design.
I agree with the mindset that they need to remove PvE from WvW. It just doesn’t make sense to force someone to play when they don’t care for PvP.
They should allow 100% map completion without ever stepping into WvW. From a lore standpoint, the Mists are not in Tyria and they shouldn’t be counted as such.
While it is sad that there is no cross-region availability, the reasoning behind it makes sense from a technical point. While it is possible to overcome this limitation, there is no strong way to do it easily and it cannot be magically done like some people here believe. Some people just need to accept that or move on.
I don’t personally care for the paid transfers since I believe it prevents players from being able to be flexible, but I know it is needed to stop the bandwagoning for WvW so I can’t complain much.
Fractals was what i wanted to try out, but I only found one other person wanted to group up, and we just gave up.
Your best bet for finding fractal groups is by using gw2lfg.com. Quick and easy until they add the new LFG tool.
I seem to be able to cancel it if I spam a lot. It should be changed though.
