I don’t like it because of the randomness. It is just pure dumb luck.
I would much rather be able to work toward something rather than rely on pure dumb luck
I can play this game for the entire time the servers are up and never get a precursor because it is pure dumb luck while the next guy can get 10 precursors within their first 6 months of play because of pure dumb luck
You may like it, good for you. I don’t, screw RNG.
Isn’t like you need to go very far on any map, they are not needed.
Only 350 whine posts to get a feature removed? Why wasn’t ascended gear removed again?
That was mostly WvW people asking for it to be removed. Need the PvE people to join your side to get things changed.
Make your own group if you don’t like it.
But what’s about new players who do not enjoy this grind?
Yeah getting rank 30 in WvW is really going to hurt their legendary hunt. Poor new players who can easily get :
-200 skill point
-250 obsidian shards
-77 mystic clovers
-250 ectos
-250 of all T6 mats
-100 g
-400 in a crafting profession
-the precursor
-the mats needed for the gifts
-100% explorerYeah new players are going to have an easy time with that and a terrible grind with getting to rank 30 :/
I play dungeons and fractals, and I have 100% exploration map on 3 of my characters with enough badges for at least 4 legendaries well before the ranking system was implemented. The problem is I now resides in a server which ceases any sort of WvW activities, so grinding to rank 30 is like putting myself in a tribulation mode: to cap camps and to get rolled by enemy zergs. So do I have to pay for transfer to get my leggies done? Is it fair for new folks in my server to go through all this?
By the ways, I know some splendid people who can get everything in your list (except the gift of battle) without the need to go to WvW. They don’t like zerging but it seems the only fast way to get to rank 30. Imagine the frustration.
You don’t have to ever do any kind of WvW for ranks. You can get them with laurels.
SOOOOO many people complaining about anet removing the rank 30 to get a gift of battle. SOOOOOO few people complaining about how easy it is to get a commander tag. I would’ve thought you guys would far prefer a rank time gate for a commander tag than a stupid gift of battle.
PvE players will then complain about how they can’t get the blue tag for their PvE maps and it will get changed.
So why is everyone crying about getting to lvl 30 world rank, OR is pve players now crying that they can’t get a free set of exotic gear with all those badges they get free from doing achievements while wvw players have to still actually earn the badges for the armor?
PvE people are crying because that is what they do. They think that they are entitled to everything in their form of play only, screw the WvW player that doesn’t like to PvE and has to endure a boring grind to get their shiny skin.
As has been stated already, the issue with stealth stomping is it completely negates some downed skills — in short any skill which requires a target and cannot be used otherwise.
A stomp is essentially an attack, but it doesn’t remove the player from stealth until the attack is complete. There have been many suggestions to break stealth when an attack starts (not when it hits). That would apply to any attack, not just stomps.
Stability and invulnerability stomps negate other professions downed state skills so why are we just picking on stealth stomps then?
I have no problem with a stealth stomper getting revealed after said stomp has been completed so that it follows the stealth rules of other skills which apply a revealed after an attack from stealth. I’m not for having revealed apply when the attack starts, only after said stomp was successfully completed.
I like stealth stompers. I can stop them and help the stompee. I can’t do anything against stability or invulnerability stompers.
If you are going to play the PPT game, you need to stack otherwise the other server will be able to out cover you.
There are not enough people for all time zones to cover all servers and still have someone for those people to play with and against. It will only be a few servers that can attain 24h coverage and the rest are out of luck. The whole idea is to get just enough people to queue all maps for a very short bit, about 15 to 30 minutes. If you don’t have that queue, all you will still get is arguments about how the other server out manned you bla bla bla usual rhetoric.
If your server doesn’t play PPT then it doesn’t matter if you have coverage unless you want to stay in a particular tier to fight particular guilds.
It’s really funny seeing WvW players gloating over the thought that these lame PvE’ers now have to do some WvW. Pathetic.
If you’re going to argue, that legendaries should require mastery of every major aspect of the game, then you should not only demand a WvW requirement, but also a sPvP requierement. Everything else would be hypocrisy.
I really have no problem with people needing to do sPvP to get a legendary but they also need to make it so that someone that only sPvP can equip that legendary.
Rank 1000 should be needed in WvW. 30 is too easy and will only cost 60 laurels. Just too cheap. Needs to be much much more. Something to put WvW portion on par with the pve portion. Too easy to get the WvW portion done and not have to do anything. PvE people that don’t want to do WvW will just buy the 30 and still not have to do any WvW. The rank needs to be much higher so that people actually have to WvW or the laurel cost is very very expensive and take much longer to buy a free pass.
You people complaining about how JQ and BG need to destack have it wrong.
You are the ones with the problem so you should pay to transfer to a server and stack the other servers.
Rank 30 isn’t enough, it needs to be bumped up to 1000. 30 is too easily bought and pve players will be able to buy that too easily. Make them really spend some laurels if they don’t want to play WvW.
When the game launched, I thought I was getting scammed when I found out the Mists bonuses I was supposed to get from WvW were not being applied to my account. None of my guildies were receiving it either.
I asked an Anet employee whether I should get a refund, and live with losing all the Guild benefits we had amassed, or just continue playing the game flawed. I was better than most having played without all the bonuses, but I was also poorer and had much less harvest materials.
I explained to them how the fact that they would not even acknowledge the bug was making clear grounds for a class action lawsuit (it did, trust me). Magically three days later, the bug was fixed, however, the damage had been done.
Many players that realized that they werenot getting the bonuses for more than three months chimed in on the thread that they would never step foot in that area. I went in for the mapping, nothing more.
I have a precursor and the Gift of battle, I will not go there ever again by being forced. Anet ruined my server support attitude and desire to help my server players by not giving me anything for it for three months ( actually longer but I digress)
Then you don’t deserve a legendary and should not complane about it. It was your choice and you are just using that event as an escape goat. ANet should not cater to people like you.
I think at least rank 30 in WvW should be required before being able to equip a legendary. You could buy it of the TP but not be able to equip it.
I’m tired of PvE people complaining about having to do WvW for the legendary when there is much more PvE required to do for it that many WvW players don’t wnat to sully themselves with. Having to play PvE and stooping down to such lows to get a legendary is really annoying.
That being said; I’ve read here that apparently you can buy WvW-ranks with laurels now. I didn’t know that either. Was that announced at some point? Maybe ninja-added to patchnotes like the change with the rank-requirement? Or are you supposed to check the vendor on a regular basis for the case he’s selling something new?
That was added in last year, before october. Not sure exactly when but it has been a little while now.
In BGs defence I do feel that they were the underdogs going into Season 1. Especially considering they had not just been beaten, but wrecked leading up to the season by both JQ and SOR. Now, however, things have changed. The server itself is just extremely stacked. I am glad I am no longer there. In the long run it will be a burden on the server itself.
This week I have built around 80 paper trebs in obscure positions and been trebbing their keeps/towers. Most of those times BG has been able to pull an entire zerg off what they are doing, often from another side of the map, to deal with my single effort. They never react by sending one person. In the few times where it hasn’t been a full zerg its 5+ players. The server is so stacked now and the attitude and conduct of many of the players is not what it used to be. There is a large following of players who are just there for the easy win.
I see a really bad scenario coming for T1 in NA in the near future. SORs collapse means a two horse race and because BG is so stacked JQ will slowly lose its morale. Alot of BG players and guilds are already complaining about a lack of fights. And quite frankly its because its getting old that other players have to constantly fight them in outnumbered scenarios. The wise thing to do would be for BG to self destack. But I honestly think for both positive (friends on the server) and negative (easy wins/fights) reasons it won’t happen and BGs guilds will have no choice but to destack unless they want to login and have nothing to do in WvW. But hey, at least we got EoTM now!
Too bad facts show that your feelings are wrong.
Stats showed that BG was the most dominant server going into S1 and still is.
Too bad facts show that your feelings are wrong.
Stats showed that BG was the under dog going into S1.
Facts : http://mos.millenium.org/servers/history/33Season began in week 42. look at weeks 39-41 inclusive.
I wouldn’t bother with KeeZee. They are kitten that their server, JQ or SOR, ended up loosing the first league. This person is now on a personal mission to smear BG. They are a troll and is willing to spread misinformation to smear BG.
Unless I can craft a legendary without having to do any stupid PvE, which is much more involved than doing WvW, I’m fine with this change.
PvE people need to just stop crying. Suck it up and deal with it.
thiefs are weak and easy kill I am noob war and I faceroll almost all thiefs I run into.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPbG1TCNxVY l2p.Stop advertise your awful video. That thiefs are pure noobs.
If thieves were so OP then that noob thief should have won like everyone claims happens.
Walls should be higher so that the attackers can’t hit you with their AoE and defenders should get a range bonus so that they can hit the stuff down below. I don’t think player AoE should be able to just melt people on top of the wall. That area is rather dangerous to be and it shouldn’t be that dangerous. Could have better crenelations instead that granted protection. Some areas have a decent set but not all wall have good barriers. Those barriers don’t really help too much though.
The champ train isn’t “fine” in a design sense. It provides enjoyable play for some people, people who like mindlessly following a rotation, but it takes people away from the intended end game content and those premium open world events suffer from lack of numbers.
The core problem is that a raid sized group of people are taking on mobs intended for small groups. The lack of scaling of difficulty and reward means they can be mindlessly repeated for high rewards for time taken. Nobody would think it was fine to take 25 people through all the dungeons at rapid speed to collect maximum loot in the shortest time, so I’m not sure why people think it is good game play to do the same in the open world.
I have no problem with it.
You don’t like it, don’t do it. This is where I get gold when I do some farm. I don’t like dungeons because the PvE in this game sucks so I don’t mind the mindlessness from this champ train because the rest of the PvE is mindless stupid boring as well. If the PvE was better, and yes I do agree the rest should have better rewards, I wouldn’t mind doing dungeons or spreading out. Since the game is the way it is, I’m fine with the champ train.
Even if the PvE actually get’s improved, I will still be fine with champ train. This is the way people care to play so let them.
I don’t go read rededit. If you can’t be bothered putting it here, I can’t be bothered to go there.
Champ train is fine.
I hate my role at my job and am trying to better my position. If a better position didn’t have a better reward, I wouldn’t want it. As it is, I’m at work for the reward, not the role. Same could be said of that brain surgeon, many want the money. I don’t think anyone in football is playing for free either. Nice jobs but very select or you have to be very smart.
Not sure why you people like to try and compare a video game to real life, this is a game and isn’t really governed by really any reality. I don’t play this game for my role either. I’m here to have fun.
I don’t play any game specifically to play a role. I want to have fun, sometimes that may mean I play a role but it isn’t why I’m playing. Some like to just play a healer, some like to just play a tank. I think that is boring. I also like self sufficiency in my characters. I enjoy that aspect and hated having to wait for a healer if I ever played a class that required such. I was interested in playing this game because I wasn’t dependent upon waiting for the perfect group to do a dungeon. Turns out, I dislike the PvE in this game because of how the encounters are set and stupid mechanics on the boss that makes it useless to bring much beyond DPS. I have a hammer warrior but it isn’t useful in dungeons and I’m better off bring something else to kill with.
LFM healer
LFM healer
LFM healer…..LFM Guardian or Warrior
Yet you do not need those specific classes, people are just stupid and think they are absolutely necessary.
I don’t believe you actually play WvW where you would actually notice the differences.
I’ve ran glass and bunker and had some numbers in between and I can tell you that at 3200 armor I can absorb a lot of damage. Not going to happen with a lower armored set.
It really depends… the best way to negate damage is simply to have a lot of mobility in WvW. I have been chased by 30 people a lot of times. My guardian bunker didn’t survive those encounters. My d/d ele, greatsword/hammer warrior, shortbow + sword/dagger thief, PU mesmer do however survive those encounters, simply by negating the kills, and fyi they’re all glass.
In WvW armour doesn’t matter. In WvW mobility and high damage matters, because that’s the only way to kill a zerg or to get away from it. If I get hit by 30 people with my slowpoke guardian with his focus/mace & greatsword with shelter and renewed focus, hell, I survive 5 seconds longer than my glass cannon warrior, with the only difference that my glass cannon warrior manages to get away a lot more than my guardian.
Armor does matter. I’m not going to survive as glass when I’m diving in to the other zerg. Done it and I found that dodges run out fast and something else was needed.
It may not matter as much small group, I didn’t do that as much as zerg and I was always in my zerg build when fighting small group, but in zerg fights, I didn’t survive long without the toughness that I stacked. When I tried glass, I was always downed first since I’m usually one of the first to contact the other zerg, and when I bunkered up, I ended up surviving the encounters.
I don’t do zerg fights anymore since like a year.

They hardly require any skill and their meta is PVT gear tbh. Been there, done that.
None of the combat in this game really requires skill. If you know how to push a button and manage your cool downs, you can succeed.

It’s almost impossible to prove “malicious intent” although it’s obvious that noone needs 5 trebs in a supply camp.
Is it obvious? What if you expect an enemy zerg to come in within a few minutes and take the camp to resupply before heading to your garrison? Now ‘wasting’ supply on useless siege becomes a tactical move rather then malicious intent.
If we could do something to the person that is wasting supply, I would agree, but as it is we can’t do anything so they have nothing but malicious intent. Pretty bad that the other servers have to do this to win though. Pretty bad that other people wish to cause such grief. I don’t expect any better behavior and attitude from you so called people though so I’m not surprised.

There is no suggestions sub forum, they removed it, they may move this to dungeons section since it is a suggestion on dungeons.
I do agree that dungeons should encourage people to not skip but not force people to not skip if they don’t care to do the encounter.
LFM healer
LFM healer
LFM healer…..I like the no trinity but I don’t care that it is totally forced. DDO did a pretty good job of allowing players to build for trinity or be self reliant but that game is PvE game.
So instead we are : LF Guardian LF Guardian
I don’t see any difference except from the fact that a very fun mechanic that makes the player unique is missing from gw2
It isn’t necessary for a guard, can make it easier but it still is not essential like a dedicated healer/tank/dps in trinity games.
What do you really expect out of people though? Just lower your expectations and humans won’t surprise you with how they act.

People do get a ban, someone got one for walking golems off the cliff in garrison in BG, but that happens very rarely. I don’t think siege placement would get a ban.

It depends upon how you look at it.
I’ve tried to type something out to make sense, I may see if I can get an edit in, but in a nut shell, there really isn’t antying that give diminishing returns(unless something got changed and I missed it,) you just don’t get as big of a over all percentage boost like you do when you added in the previous item with the stat you want.
Let’s say you have 1k toughness. You want to add in a item that gives you another 1000. In this case you just got a 100% boost. So, lets say you want to add in another item that gives you 1000 toughness. You now didn’t get a 100% boos but instead you got only a 66% boost. Many people liken this to diminishing returns. It isn’t really diminishing returns because nothing is being reduced, just the over all percentage isn’t as big as the first time.

They don’t need to change dodge to fix the PvE problem.
Mobs don’t heal, don’t really mix up a set of sklls, don’t hit often, hit hard when they do hit and are quite ignorant and will run right up to you even though they have a bow.
Mobs behavior is what needs to be changed, not gear stats, dodge, or any other player functions. If mobs hit more than once every 10 to 15 seconds, dodge would become something that needs to be used but it would also encourage people to want to use toughness and vitality since they won’t be able to just dodge everything now. Thier hits should also be reduced so that toughness and vitality are useful and not still be one shot by the mob. Not saying they need to take away their one shots completely, just not every ability should be a one shot or hit so hard to make the player wonder why they even bothered with toughness and vitality.
No it doesn’t.
None of the gear needs changing, didn’t need adjusting before, doesn’t need adjusting now.
PvT is the meta in WvW because you can’t kill someone if you die first. Glass doesn’t allow the kind of sustainability that PvT does in WvW.
I like the superior hydromancy on my horn, make a nice little chill when I swap in the middle of the zerg. I would also put that on my hammer.
yeah, i agree that it is a bit unfair. Although warriors does have that revive thingy, which, if they can mange to use it, is very good and guardian got that AOE knockback, which again, is parried by stability. Rangers are OP underwater, due to pet healing them to full health no matter what, but since the underwater aspect of the game has been all but removed from WvW, that is a very worthless “pro” in a long list of con’s.
But the rest is utterly screwd.
3 things should be done;
Cannot stomp from stealth
Downed state makes you immune to blind and daze
Thief, Mesmer and Ele need to get their Downed #2/3 skills nerfed. Ele isn’t the worst of them, just annoying, but thief and mesmer ones are too strong overall.
I like stealth stomping. I can do something against it. I can’t do anything against stability, invulnerability, or any other immunity stomp.
Downed state shouldn’t make you immune to anything.
I can agree that downed skills for several classes need a rework. I believe the engineer has an ability that pulls someone to you. I don’t know about you but I don’t think I would really want to encourage my enemy getting closer when I’m downed.
Posts like this is what makes me want to camp the JP.
Sigil stacks shouldnt even exist in pvp and wvw. Why the hell should I be at a disadvantage because my teammates suck or the enemy killed 13 deer?
And yet you also have that option but do not take it. Not the other players fault.
They could just add a 5-10 siege cap for each individual player.
I’ve thrown down a lot of siege to siege up a structure when I was guarding, way more than 10 pieces. Done that in garrison when supply was maxed and we didn’t have siege placed so when doly delivered, I’d start using some supply to not waste what was delivered. May also interfer with the commander placing siege. Some commanders would prefer to place the siege themselves if they are attacking so that what they toss is what gets built.
On the TP? Probably not, people will probably be charging more.
From vendors for dungeon tokens? Possibly if the reason that was stated was stated by a dev in the first place, but don’t hold your breath.
Umm no! the best way to play the game is how you want to play the game. If you want to do a lot of damage, you can. If you want to support your team, you can. If you want to be tankish, you can.
They only made zerker build lose a bit more damage to get closer to supp and tankish builds and also condition builds. Zerker was too much and condition was mostly “meh”. If there’s a build that is superior to all other types of builds, then what is the point to be tankish, support or to use condition damage. This was an update to PvE though, PvP people rarely go pure zerker, glasscannons.
The monsters need to get smarter though, so they can counter all kinds of build the players create.
They didn’t need any adjustment. Tank builds shouldn’t be able to do close to the DPS of glass zerk builds.
To make the other stats wanted, game mechanics need to be adjusted to make it useful to bring in someone else that had other stats.
Runes of the noble are cheap in dungeon tokens. Find a group of friends or guildies that dont mind letting you leach a couple runs. Heck you might actually end up liking running it if you bothered.
Some people don’t like the PvE in this game and only care to play WvW.
To those kind of people, PvE is a chore. I understand them.
Last I read, a dev commented that they were looking at making the stack disappear if the weapon that had that sigil got swapped. I think it was going to start to slowly loose the stack and would need to be refreshed.
Basically, they want to make you keep that weapon in your hand to maintain that stack.
It was a long while when I read that and I don’t think it was a real high priority. They also probably wanted to get a second sigil on 2 handers working before changing this since that change would hit 2 handed users pretty hard.
(edited by CreativeAnarchy.6324)
Nothing needed nerfed, nothing needed buffed.
Reducing the crit damage will only make the encounter take a little bit longer. Other stats still won’t be wanted for most PvE.
If they buffed other stuff, it would have put the other stuff out of wack. The stats on gear is fine. It isn’t the gear that is causing a heavy use of a particular stat in PvE.
It didn’t need a nerf and the other stuff didn’t need buffed.
This change was because of PvE. This is the wrong way to address the PvE issues.
Walls should be higher. They don’t really offer much benefit otherwise with how easy it is to put that aoe on top of the wall and burn down the siege. Some places on the wall is more difficult to burn the siege but they are few and very far between.
Create a LFG and state you do not wish to skip. Play how want with people that play the same way. Skipping is optional which is good because everyone gets to play their way.
This is the most rational, easiest, cheapest, and reasonable solution.
Stealth isn’t hard to deal with. Only people set on destroying thieves go on about how easy it is to play a thief and pwn using stealth.
Too many people with personal motives. Ignore those people.
