How would you know if OP hasnt done story? This has nothing to do with that, this is a flawed system because when the instance holder leave, it cause the rest of the party to lose any progress on the dungeon/instance they are doing. How would you feel if you were on your third fractal, and the instance holder leaves, causing you to lose all progress. I agree with OP their should be a system where it can reassign the role to someone else, if the leader leaves.

If they have done story then why not start the instance themselves? The only real reason is. 1: They are too lazy to guest on a different server if whatever dungeon their doing is contested and or does not want to initiate and finish the quest that makes the dungeon uncontested.
Or 2: they have not completed story and are leeching explorable mode off of someone whose done the story.

It is NOT flawed. Otherwise Anet would of fixed the issue months ago, if you want to do a dungeon, start it yourself, it’s that simple. I start all my dungeons to avoid being griefed out and having my spot sold. And or network errors.

Second guy is the only one I would have kicked. Doing it at the end was really unnecessary but if he was a big enough jerk then it is extremely hard to sympathize. If someone else initiated a votekick at that point I might have clicked to confirm it.

He was atagonizing everyone, and saying how we were “downies” because we didn’t know how to exploit a path, and all kinds of unnecessary things. I personally don’t like kicking people, but if you asked me he got what he deserved at the end. He didn’t deserve the reward.

As for the other 2, I didn’t agree with it, but it happened.

I think it would be amazing if a director took upon Guild Wars and created it into a movie, combinding elements from Lord Of The Rings and Narnia, I think it would be a fantastic creation.

Reason why I am bringing this up is because I just now 5 minutes ago finished watching the Narnia movies ( say what you will ) and it kinda made me want to jump on Guild Wars.

I am more of a gameplay type of person and " who cares about the lore " but I recently started reading and following up with the lore and there has been a couple references in game by charrs saying that they’ll eat up a human.

I don’t know if that is just a threat saying that they will kill them, or if they really do eat them.

Also someone in my guild said that the Asura, surfaced from underground, did experiments on Sylvari and ate them.

I am a famale, and I don’t really care too much about the revealing of skin or armor, ( that makes it sound like I am a harlot, which I am not )

Revealing clothing for any gender has been used for years, Marvel and DC do it all the time, as well as any story, where you’d see some goddess who barely has any clothes on, it’s what attracts people.

If you don’t like revealing clothing on your character then don’t wear it.

I don’t like when people sag their pants in real life, but it’s not my business so I carry on with whatever it is that I was doing.

If you don’t like the way some characters are dressed then that’s that. Anet won’t fix it unless thousands and thousands, and perhaps even a million, people complain about it.

Depends on how long it took? If they insisted on changing and took 5-6 min to get back to position, while the team said no, lets just go…. well yeah, kick them.

I don’t really like kicking people either. However, we had somebody who said he had enough AR, but we started realizing he was staying back to not get hit, and immediately died on Maw. Not to mention he was incredibly rude and was verbally assaulting us when we were just asking him questions. It was obvious that he was joining higher level groups so they would carry him, and not contributing anything.

Yeah, this. He took a while to get in, and his characters were on different parts of the world. I don’t like kicking people out, but I can’t say the same for the other teamates. He also disconnected every so often.

That’s pretty much what our Guardian did, he/she stayed far away with scepter even when all of us were meleeing at close range.

That’s why I am saying, I think there is more of a patience issue going on, since the guardian had no ar (or very low ar ) people would have to spend time reviving them / process to kill boss takes longer.

Second part like I said, I wanted to kick him on the spot, but I normally stay silent in pugs, otherwise I risk potentially getting kicked out myself for not agreeing with the majority.

That part I did not understand for the life of me, what I did notice though was each of his characters were on different parts of the map, and it took some time for him to get inside, and he disconnected here and there. Some people really need to learn patience.

Yes. I agree with this times a million, I was kinda “forced” into making a warrior just so I can participate with pugs in dungeons. I think it’s time for them to start feeling the same type of abuse.

I personally think , the new dungeon will be similar to that of Mad King we had in halloween. I think there will be exclusive weapon skins that have a limited time to get them.

And I am pretty sure what the above said, some or all of these skins will be acquired through black lion kit.

These items are not needed, they are wanted, so we’ll just have to make do on what we can.

I myself don’t fancy dungeon kicking, as I have been kicked from an Arah path some time ago having wasted a couple hours for peoples greed to sell my spot for gold.

However, I do feel there are times when someone may or may not be kicked, so lets hear the thoughts on the community.

Example 1. We were doing fractal 30, and in comes a guardian who claims they have about 30 AR. First “path” was the underwater jellyfish, it went by smooth.
path 2 was the shaman volcano, this guardian died INSTANTLY as soon as the agony got on them, they were kicked as soon as that path was finished. I myself did not fully agree on the kicking, because if we were able to finish then we shouldn’t have a problem with the others.

Example 2: We had an elitists who pretty much told us everything we were doing was wrong, and kept complaining, our pug leader who started the instance started whispering the 3 of us and said they are tired of this person and planned on kicking them at the end because they don’t deserve the reward and it is time consuming to find a fill-in. As much as he/she was being insanely rude, I don’t really agree on kicking them at the end when the boss is at 5% hp, even if they were being rude, this person should of been kicked on the spot of them being rude. Keep in mind we did tell this person to calm down, and they started to attack us with words immediately.

Example 3. We had a person who had a toon for " every little thing" as crazy as that sounds. In fractals for the jellyfish, they switched to their elementalist, for the fractal path with the frozen norn, they switched to their guardian, for the dredge path, they switched to their Engineer, then a kick was initiated at maw when they were in the process of switching back to another toon. This person was kicked.

All and all , my question is, are these viable reasons to kick someone? Even if they do have unorthodoxed ways to complete something? I am leaning towards more there is a patience issue with some people, and if something isn’t done immediately, a kick is initiated.

As a Mesmer and Guardian player, I have to honestly say that Engineers are extremely fun, and they can prove to be extremely useful too, despite the constant hate between them and ranger.

Engineers may not be able to do that much burst damage. But they can definately sustain themselves, any class can be “op” if played and speced right.

I made an engineer and payed my way to lvl 80 ( spent gold to craft )
I can say I am having more fun on this toon than any of my other toons, of course this is a too each “her” own ( I am female ) moment.

My question is, why the constant hate? And why the auto-kick when I join pug teams? Any other Engineer players out there having similar issues?

Are these like Magic Find? Do you get a higher chance to get better loot when you have a higher personal reward level, or does it just effect the daily chest at the end of the dungeon?

I’m at 29 FOTM, and people lower than me seem to be getting the fractal weapons, infused rings, and constantly getting rares and exotics out of chests. ArenaNet said MF doesn’t effect this.

I run with my guild, and sometimes the one person that makes the FOTM take too long is the one getting all the loot. The “RNG” in this game needs to be fixed immediately as well.

I wouldn’t really call it magic find per say, the higher you go, the more relics you get.
I personally farm fractal 30, because it’s in the middle.

Fractal skins/infused weapons are all part of the daily drops.

It’s like when sometimes you get black lion stuff from your pve daily, or you’ll just get jugs of karma/mystic coin.

If they made a specific salvage kit that only salvages ascended gear, then so be it. Gems or not, I really want to either salvage them or be able to forge them.

I really wish you could mystic forge ascended rings, for those people like ( me ) who do lvl 40+ fractals, and time and time again have recieved useless rings, I wish you could toss them in the forge to get something better out of it.

A.Net is made up of over 300 developers working on the game. Of those 300 people, they’re split into teams of 4, 10, 15, 20, and sometimes even 50 people working on different aspects of the game. Not every department or developer works on the same things. That is to say that the people that test the game and report the bugs are the QA guys, and they send it to the bug stomping programmers. Neither of those groups are the Live Team, which develop new content.

If an MMORPG stopped developing any new content just to assign 100% of it’s developers to “bug fixing/balancing”, then they’d never see new content ever!. That’s rediculous.

Pretty sad that you actually took the time to report a thread that has nothing offensive to it, you don’t agree with it then move the kitten along to a different thread.

To the OP, the reason why they don’t fix bugs immediately is because they want to push new content for us to enjoy, this game isn’t perfect and neither are any other game. It takes money to do things, pushing new content may bring more fans, and with that support they could probably go back in and fix bugs that have been mentioned. Give them time. Be patient, enjoy the new frost and flame event.

Despite what some people are saying about Rangers, ignore them. Rangers are an amazing class, only elitists will tell you that they are bad because they themselves prefer full zerker gear war.

I’d go with ranger. Because they have excellent mobility. Excellent range. A pet that can revive them, and melee is amazing.

I know how to get infusions, I have about 3 agony resist infusions.
I am up to fractal 22 on my Guardian and I have not a single agony resist. Hell my guardian has masterwork trinkets.

I don’t expect a reaction, it wasn’t my intention believe it or not. I posted here in the forum because I want to know WHY people often don’t bother to read posts that are made via lfg, then complain about if something happens. I ran CoE and I said I have never ran the path, they got mad at me and asked if I was new, they invited me when I made that post, and they get upset.

We posted that near the end of the instance, they’ll be kicked. They joined anyway and questioned why they were kicked.

As much as it may seem like it, this post wasn’t to gather reactions, it is to answer the question I have.

Take a note, don’t argue with a guild group. When I do things with my friends I blatantly include something along the lines of “act like an kitten and get instakicked” in my gw2lfg posts to give a fair warning that if you come into our group and start being a nuisance you’re out. Is it always fair? No. But we don’t like having some random guy telling us how to do what we already know how to do or criticizing the fact that we aren’t all super powerful godlike Zerker warriors.

I am going to agree with Munkee, 100%. I always post that if they act up they get kicked, and I even give them another warning asking if they read the post. Yet they still complain when they get booted for being a kitten.

To the OP, if you’re running any high level instances ( Fractals, Arah, HotW, CoE ) I suggest you look at the guild tags, if it’s the same, take precaution and leave. If everyone seems to be “random” then stay, but show respect. If you don’t like how they run/ran things, block them from preventing to ever run a instance with them. You call them out they have every right to kick you. If they kicked you for no reason, send a report ( given the amount of people being griefed I highly doubt anet cares ) but it’s better than just letting it happen.

There are always 2 sides of the story. This “bicker” could of been something extreme, we can only go by what you say.

Seems there is an issue with people just skimming and scanning on lfg and not reading what the post said. So I will make this quick and explained what happened.

Basically, we were looking for experienced players, not to be elitist but to get the job done quick. No exploits, no mob skipping, just knowing where the aoe is, etc etc.

In the post we said, " be experienced or be kicked, you’ve been warned "

We had a warrior who kept dying, giving him the benefit of the doubt we asked if he ran the path before, he said no. He was kicked.

He then whispered each and every single one of us, giving us death threats and insane amount of profanity, claiming he’d have us banned.

We found another person, who then again said they never ran the path, this person was kicked, but unlike the person before us, he didn’t atagonize us, instead he called us griefers / get us banned.

Save the trolling, or any negative comments, I know this “method” is not good and is time consuming.

I am a major Star Wars geek ( as many of us are I am sure ) for those of you who has played KOTOR 1 ( Knights Of The Old Republic ) for pc might have noticed a few things, now I am probably late and looking like a total kitten writing this, but if it hasn’t been mentioned before, the soundtrack sounds similar to that of kotor, was gw2 music made by the same musician who did kotor1 soundtrack? Also, whenever a Dredge die ( it makes several noises ) one of the noises resembles the same sound a Sith made when it was killed in kotor 1. Any thoughts? Or all coincidence. I see many posts of getting griefed and such, but it never happened to me before. I have pugged pretty much all my dungeons and fractals. And so far i only kicked 2-3 players, because they were a kitten to the group.

Players tend to get irked when a complete stranger start giving advice on how to do stuff, regardless of your tone/intention. In their minds, you are being elitist and a kitten. Let your game speak for you and only give advice when asked for. Or if you must, after completing the dungeon.

Has anyone ever received in-game mail by random people who send you site links and offer vast amounts of gold for real currency? I have been getting them at least once a week.

On top of that, 2 days ago someone from Shanghai China attempted to log me in.
I am starting to think that the mail they send you in game, is some type of malware or phising program.

Lions Arch, there was someone who said he bought twilight for 400$ USD off of some website that gave him gold. Obviously I reported him because he broke ArenaNets rules.

I want to know how do these people get their gold, do they hack others and sell the stuff to people? This thread is to rise awareness and to prevent such attacks ever happening to the community.

So today I received an email saying that someone in Shanghai China tried to log in me.

I want to know how did this person all the way in China managed to get my info. It’s a good thing I denied this person access.

Please tell me I am not the only one receiving these types of things.

I have also received in game mail from Chinese gold sellers.

Opening the mail to see what it said I fear it phised me.

On gw2lfg we have the occasional people who either don’t read, or are clueless.

In the past 3 days, I have responded to posts that said and asked " Zerker warriors only speed run please $$ 3 hours " upon joining, they had an elementalist, a ranger and a thief, and they had the nerve to say " We’re inside" obviously I left immediately. Second is when me or a friend would post saying " Arah path 1, we have 2, self invite please be experienced " people would join, come in, say hello then say " path 2???? " after saying no, they would say things like " oh, ok well thx good luck! "

There are also people who join all zerker CoF farm teams and when asked to ping gear, they are full valkyrie.

There are also times some people would join even after we request for experienced only players, they would constantly die then tell us they never ran the path.

It’s simple, if there are that many problems then I shouldn’t use gw2lfg and instead ask for guildies/friends.

The point of this post is the find out the answer to why people don’t read and or join and be clueless, who are they trying to fool?

So I have been averaging 12fps on my above graphics card. The rest of the system specs are as follows.

Intel Core i7 920 (runs at 52 degrees Celsius when game runs)
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1
6GB DDR3 RAM

If you need further information please let me know. I also would like to mention that I’ve tried every solution that is in the above pinned article about low fps and nothing changes me from getting 12fps.

My cpu usage during the game is around 26% depending on what I’m running. The GPU is running at 95% at 53 degrees Celsuis

If anything this should help them, by helping players they help the community, they help promote their game, if they ban us for asking help then that is corrupt. the gods of this realm seem to strongly disagree, locking and deleting topics/posts, banning or threatening us meer mortals who dare question the quality of their work and ask for help/explanation…..

my suggestion is, if you want an official answer for your questions, find another company to get a game from, anet is not known for admitting or helping with such things, specially since its the gods of this realm apparent view that all problems are user side not anet side.

I see, well as I said, if they ban me that is pretty corrupt of them from a fan whose purchased this game, bought their merchandise to show people, bought their computer mouse and no I am not looking for “special treatment” all I am saying is if I get banned for asking for suggestions on how to play this game, then that is corrupt. I understand they are busy, but a suggestion to improve my fps would be wonderful.

Do realize your talking to another person, and not ANet. I don’t roam around the forums that often, but I really haven’t seen such behavior from ANet, ever.

As for some tips to improve FPS, there’s plenty of threads on the forums with random tips here and there. I have a few on a thread in my signature

Sorry, none of that will probably help, this is the sad reality for mmos, you can run it when you get it then it all goes downhill.
