Not sure if anyone has seen this but if you get in the mystic forge just right you turn into this.
So I watched the necro part of the stream and no wonder nothing good is happening. Neither of the people could remember what most of our skills or traits do now or got it wrong.
What I saw.
1. this trait could do this and we thought it was to strong
2. this trait never did this and we changed it
I could go on but necros were masters of conditions but lost that a long time ago now we are masters of death and hate boons? And we are gonna be a monster from a movie that can no longer slow anyone down to catch them.
@CratZ No it should be we apply 10 stacks of every condition to our allies and self.
@NeuroMuse I did say I’m in t8 wvw and I was not talking about high lvl pvp even in a group a necro is the first focused down because its the easiest to lock down and kill. When i play pvp on my necro I even focus necros because its easy.
Yes there are 2 guilds I recommend are active daily The one I’m in (Quag) and (Moa) just go into ebg and look for the tag and ask for an invite.
I think it will be as things stand now..(opinion could change on the 23rd)
Note: Necro has been my main for almost 3 years I mainly wvw on a t8 sever and play pvp. And this is not high lvl pvp play because how many really play at that lvl.
My reasons for this are
1. chill —>resistance
2. movement skill changes (chill wont effect distance)
3. still a lack of ways to deal with heavy cc
4. condition changes do not matter necros are not the best at applying conditions(my opinion)
That right there is all I need to see to make me think that the reaper is going to be bad. All a reaper gets is a pull on the great sword and a 600 range dash in reaper shroud. So like it is now a necro will be kited or a player will just escape to reset the fight/get to allies.

Just happened in a NA t8 match just now took smc 3 times and got disconnected all 3 times. Now we are outnumbered and cant take it so yeah bunch of bull kitten.
I’m on sf and I have map completion 100% with 2 characters and www maps done with a few of my others. I say you have 3 options transfer, wait for servers to be merged or try to get people into www.

I just hope whatever is said has some substance like adding more depth to all aspects of the game. If its a presentation on metrics then I don’t even know what to say.
oh I agree its bad gameplay and it only hurts www in the long run.
Well yeah where my server is ranked 24th it doesn’t matter I’d be amazed to see 50 people enemies and team mates combined in an hour let alone 15 mins.
this again…. 3 exits don’t matter unless its there entire server at your spawn then you can get out and try something if it works or not thats another story. What I do is when it happens to my server is stop playing and let them be bored. Its not your fault for being spawn camped it just means your server didn’t have the numbers or coverage to prevent it. But on the bright side it will get new players to go to eotm for www action and never look back.
I will say it doesn’t matter at all coverage and numbers still win and ppk has very minor impact.
@XTD I don’t think no swords was designed at all it was just while playing some devs said hey we could have gotten that tower if there was no swords and with a restless and disgruntled www player base they said we could easily remove them and then call it an event.
This is the problem with maps like drytop/silverwastes more so in the silverwastes. What are people who don’t play yet or don’t have time to play now going to do in a few months when the maps will have maybe a chest farm happening in them. I see people say just play at this time or look for a taxi so what happens if you can’t play in that time frame? Bottom line is get what you want a.s.a.p because in a few months there is a chance you won’t be able to.

T8 Sorrow’s Furnace
Can’t tell if its good or bad. Going against the same severs the whole time and all 3 servers have a much bigger problem which is population.
I can say upgrades happen on a whim it seems. I stopped upgrading because there is nobody on to defend.
Roaming is the same you see 1-5 people if you see anyone. Last week I took my home bl back solo and did not see a single team mate or opponent (sure I died a few times but that was because I made mistakes with lords)and about 20 mins after it got flipped again.
I see people talking about tactics and skill when all I see its mostly the same numbers and coverage still win.

well sorry I dont want t1 blobs but 20-25 people between all maps is not a lot. Why even have 4 maps if 90% of the time they are empty. When I was on AR had all our eb stuff what that means to me is it was just pvd the same is most likely the reason for your example of what you saw. I still think combining servers would be a good thing to do.

@Mizu not sure if you know but from what I can see the last of the blue servers wvw guilds/players finished leaving. If blue had numbers after reset and during the weekend it was only because nobody really got to play for a week. (i was just on and the 20-25 I saw was not what I would call a lot)
On topic I would like to see it happen I don’t play much anymore because the 10 vs 20 in your favor or not does not make it feel like wvw anymore its just become pvd or doing nothing.
I won’t pay for a transfer not because of server pride or anything like that but because anet has not done anything constructive for wvw. If anything anet made it worse by giving free transfers before a tournament which hurt wvw a lot more than it helped so all in all they will not see any $ from me.
Another thing I think is wvw are bad while eotm rewards a a lot better so why not nerf eotm rewards and buff wvw rewards ? My guess is simple if makes metrics look good for wvw so someone can look and say wvw is fine look at all the activity.
What can you do at this point as a player stick around and hope? I don’t like that idea.
In 2013 anet said they had big things happening in the background now at the end of 2014 I’m sure that was just everything to do with china.
The old LS was flawed but so is the new LS where do you see dry top or the silver wastes in 6 months? I see it empty 95% of the time. What is a player who starts in 3 months going to think when they have pay for the story related to the zone and/or not be able to accomplish anything in them. I see people say use lfg tool to find an active map well I have and I don’t find one now in a few months what is a new player going to do?
The biggest issue for me is how content is delivered. Any small amount of content released is instantly done by players because its all there is that is new and with that unless it can be farmed it dies out quickly which also leads to people trying to get everything done a.s.a.p so they have a chance of doing it at all.
Well there are not many players left on SF I think almost every wvw guild is now gone and many players have quit or transferred so SF doing anything is I don’t even know at this point. All I hope is next reset is better because if SF has to keep going through match ups like this I have no idea if any wvw players will be left on the server.
Well as long as your server doesn’t break before the bad match up you’ll be able to have fun again my server is ranked 21 against rank 16 and a lot of the new DB guild/players came form my server fun and wvw are going to hard to come by for me. So it could be worse.
I’m in this match (Sorrow’s Furnace) and even if you left from the side you might be take a camp before you get killed by a zerg.
My play time this week has been going to a map and being the only one from my server on it or outnumbered me and 5 or so others did take our garri back the other day but as soon as we did we had 30 or so Dh come and take it back so yeah even if you get out of spawn what are you supposed to do.
With the devs saying they want to test things (temp no white swords) etc.. I want to see eotm only accessible if your server has every map queued in www. My thinking is eotm was only supposed to be a waiting room (more or less) so people didn’t have to wait and do nothing.
I think this would be a good thing to do for 2 weeks to a month because it could get more people into www who have only ever played eotm.
I am always disappointed with the light armors on male characters there are only 20 or so pieces in the game I like including gem store ones. All I can say is I’m glad I have characters of other armor classes.
@draxynnic If you already don’t know you can buy more extractors for bandit crests(or whatever they are) I also wasted the first one but found you need to use multiple anyway. As for the gas there are bubbles you break that heal you and allies.(at least in one of the pits)

Well my opinion of dry top is that its just a farm the reason being all you do is complete events to get geodes to get what you want or lock picks to get open chests rinse and repeat.
What you described sounds like a farm just organized and efficient but still a farm.
They already said they are going to put back the custom amount.
I do not like dry top because it feels like a farm because its just so crammed with events it doesn’t have the same more natural feel as every other map in the game. So if the add another map I hope its bigger and is not like dry top.
I want a mini mystic forge that constantly makes the sound of a toilet flushing.
This year is better than last for sure for 2 reasons
1. the drop rates are much better I’m not trying to get rich or get any special item I’m just playing and seeing a lot of ToT bags makes me feel like I’m getting something for my time.
2. The outfit you can get I think its cool you can get one from someplace other than the gem store and I hope to see more of it in the future.
Now the bad which is
1. please have reapers rumble next year it looked cool and was so much fun.
I don’t understand this at all gvg is a player made activity in gw2 so what do people want anet to do?
The only thing I think they could do is take gvg out of wvw and make a map you access through pvp with a 10-20 player per team cap with leader boards or ranked matches.
Now the question is would every gvg guild stop playing WvW?
This is what I think would happen.
1. unless it had a reward it would be ignored
2. guilds members would become hostile towards other guilds and pugs
3. large guilds would try to cannibalize smaller guilds and attempt to claim entire servers.
4. After awhile it would always be the same guilds at the top each week.
So all in all I’m not a fan of the idea.
If your gonna remove swords then you might as well give people on low pop servers free transfers up or merge servers because you will most likely keep more people playing the game.
Maybe at prime time on a low pop server it would be ok but outside of that people shouldn’t even bother playing against a server with a larger population. Also what do you get for defending and upgrading (its nothing) low pop servers don’t have a k-train going most of the time for a player to recoup some of what the spend on upgrades and siege and you get nothing for sitting in a tower.
All I see this as is not one dev played on a low pop server and if they did maybe it was at prime time on reset nights.
No I did not enjoy the season,
Every season the server I’m on loses guilds and players before and during. So whats left now is during the day 5-10 people on average on all maps combined we hit 20 every now and then and maybe 40 during prime time on all maps combined. There used to be good fights all the time but now its you steamroll your opponents or you get steamrolled. (yes with those numbers)
I hope they lock the servers for transfers and merge some of the servers at some point. I was against the idea at first but right now WvW is just boring.
I will answer the question (as an Sf player). A large guild that is no longer on our server built up a lot of animosity towards our server. Now that we have less wvw players with at least 2 guilds leaving in the past 3 months and regulars from the server M.I.A it will be like this for awhile. I just hope SF can bounce back as WvW is pretty much all I play for anymore.
There is one problem with this game that has been around for 2 years and its the rewards are bad. Champ bags helped them feel a little better taking them away would do more harm than good. The event system makes this worse because not every event is equal.
So here is the question: (lets say each event takes 20 mins)
event A does not scale to spawn champs
event B does spawn champs
Which one is more likely to be done and why?
My answer is event B and its because event A will give you a 1 or 2 silver(if lucky) and some xp, karma and whatever items mobs drop. Event B will give you the same and a champ bag which can have quite a few things inside so even 1 champ bag makes a large difference in what you get.
My solution would never happen but it would be to increase all rewards by a large amount and get rid of gold to gems. But I’m sure anet makes a decent amount on gem sales for gems to gold and the player base would not stand for it.
So all in all about the only thing that can be done is to make more events appealing and success at the events the better choice. The solution is not to nerf rewards any further than they already have been because that will cause more people to stop playing.
@Holm its not about anet going in and forcing population changes its about giving players incentive to spread out and make it so more players/coverage does not mean instant win.
I think scoring should be less about how long you hold objective an more about taking and defending them.
(Example:)
take a undefended tower-1 point
take a defended tower-2 points
defend a tower-2 points
the issue with this is the defense event would have to be adjusted but it would help with servers who go to sleep with a close score and wake up 10k+ points behind
Another thing is getting new players/pve players into WvW maybe reward tracks that would get you all the mats to create ascended armor/weapons (over time) or ascended armor/weapons itself. The reward tracks could not be worked on in Eotm!
As far as guilds go there is a place for them but there should always be a place for pugs.
I have been playing for 2 years and I have never been or have wanted to be part of a large guild. Guilds are fine but I have seen myself how many new players/pugs have said forget WvW because of how hostile guild groups have been towards them.
I think people being sour is acceptable. I look at the changes made to other professions and thought I might go back to try some builds that did not work because of lack of sustain. What I see happening now for me anyway is nothing has really changed.
Well if anything gw2 has a content problem not a feature problem. I play a bit of everything (except dungeons/fractals) to keep from getting bored but when I do I take a break my last one lasted for 6 months.
The issue a lot of people seem to be having is they don’t know where the game is even going. I mean is it more LS or more pvp/esport ect… this has 2 effects on a game
1. people latch onto anything said and run with it (for better or worse)
2. people think/say the game is dying and complain and or leave
I have also seen over the last few years that any game not out yet is the best and any game that is out is dying. I myself have hopes for this game but if none of it happens then oh well I will find something else.
I say its great you listened to feedback for that I say thank you. My favorite thing about this is you were honest with the community. I think as people play games longer they start to get sick of the P.R aspect and the everyone could be better off with such honesty.
No, there isn’t a better scoring system for the way WvW matches work. There are only different scoring systems.
The kind of matches that the OP describes will happen regardless.
The ranking algorithm is reacting appropriately, regardless.
It is not the fault of mathematics when people misunderstand it.
I understand the system and how it works.
The issue is the system is not effective in this environment and can not keep up with what is actually happening.
There have been plenty of suggestions on this forum alone that would make for a better system.
So right now my server is in a bad match and gaining points for ticking at 40ppt at prime time. My issue is that this happens every 1-2 months and lasts for 2-5 weeks and in that time we lose players and have lost guilds. It has always been bad enough that my server starts everyday with everything paper 90% of the time.
Right now one server has more players on 24/7 than the other 2 combined but the way the system works they will lose points for a week while servers who have no chance gain points. So do you think the scoring system will ever be redone or is it just always going to be like this until wvw is no more.
Well the biggest problem is all classes are balanced for pvp only so any hope for things in WvW/pve will probably not happen. What I expect are nerfs to our conditions but its funny I can play an engi or mesmer and stack more conditions faster than a necro. If we get a buff somewhere it will probably be life steal again.
I have been on SF for almost 2 years and I have to say for the people who have stayed we only lack late night/morning coverage. Sometimes I play on off hours and even a guild of 20 would make a huge difference.

Why not just make 2 types of tags 1 set only usable in pve and one in WvW let the pve only tag cost 300g and the WvW only tag cost 100g plus badges. When the update happens just have a screen pop up and ask if you want your tag for pve or WvW.
I’ll say this I’m on a smaller server and after 2 years I got my commander tag 2 weeks ago and in the past week I have spent 40g on upgrades/siege/food ect.. it will take me a 2 months or more of playing and not buying anything to make that back. So now I wonder if anet knows that there are servers outside of t1/t2. Guess it means no colors for me.
And before someone says “go do something else to make the money back” well if I have to go out of my way to do something I don’t find fun to be able to play what I do then I might as well not play.
This is gonna kill smaller servers! This is a bad idea there is more than t1/t2 in WvW but when this happens well small servers might as well save there money and not upgrade anything. I can see it now a group of 15 with 5 omegas will paper a t3 borderland in record time sounds like lots of fun.
Anet does need someone to talk to the forums to speak about the game. The issue right now is nobody knows where the game is going so they ask themselves do I wait and keep playing or move on. They need a general road map for each game mode so players know what is coming and what might.
As far as it being the players fault anet says nothing is wrong no matter what they do someone won’t like it and its the same with every game.
Pulling up old interviews is pointless because things change simple as that and you may or may not like it.
