This one could be considered a visual bug but basically if you are just a tiny bit over the 1200 range, the skill doesn’t hit anymore, even though you can clearly see the animation on top of the mob. So either reduce the animation’s length, or have it hit things on top of it
Not to mention that the skill also sometimes fails to hit if the terrain is not flat

This is a clear bug, if you are above the target, then phase smash simply doesn’t hit (although it can still blast fields). So for example you can’t stay on top of a wall and use Phase Smash to hit people below it (WvW). Same goes for #2. Hammer is a ranged weapon yet you can only auto attack and #5 if Z axis is involved…kind of some lazy coding right there to be honest.
As for the nerfs I don’t agree with any of it. If you wanted to stop revenants from sticking to targets easily, then a simple 2 to 3 second cooldown on Phase Traversal was a much better idea. Infusion of light was also unwarranted. #4 shield heal was kinda low I don’t see why the nerf, and #5 makes you static. Also both of these skills have high energy costs. But go ahead, make changes with just bunkering in a point in SPvP in mind, cuz there’s no other game modes /sarcasm
I asked a friend again and he tells me that he saw the aura so I guess in some situations with alot of spell effects it stops showing. But the hammer bugs still exist :p
Well I was in a group with another revenant and I saw he had boons pulsing but I couldn’t see his aura. I asked, and he couldn’t see mine so I don’t know….only thing I have on low are shadows and number of characters rendered (because of WvW)
Also the aura displays with any pulsing boon, facet of nature doesn’t have to be active
Our aura under out feet when we are pulsing boons is no longer visible to other players, but it was during beta. I liked the idea of showing other people that I was helping them (through boons). Now they will just get the boons and not have a clear idea where they came from.
Was it disabled because people said the effect was a bit too strong? Well tone it down and display it for everyone!
EDIT: Also I’d like to point out that 2h hammer #3 skill (Phase Smash) still doesn’t work well with heights. It can blast fields, but won’t do any damage. #2 (Coalescence of Ruin) can also not do damage when the terrain is not flat. Kinda makes the weapon unconsistent and several people during the betas, including myself, reported these bugs…

As a WvW who tolerates PvE if done right, I posted some angry comments on the first day. Now, considering that masteries are acc bound I guess the system is not so bad. (But 400 hero points is still too much for people who can’t be bothered to PvE or don’t have the time)
But what really kittenes me off, is that unless you find the correct path to advance on the maps, it’s very punishing. Spent like 1-2 hours just searching around to try and reach the 4th map, only to realize you need the burrow mastery or something. It’s like devs wanted to hide things for us so we could “discover” them but literally everything was hidden since I stepped onto maguuma jungle, so frustrating and anoying honestly

I played for over 10 hours and for me wasnt fun atall:
- i hate the new map,its just a huge jumping puzzle and i hate jumping puzzles
- i dont like atall the fact that i have to unlock masteries to advance in sthe story
- and to unlock masteries i have to farm events
- Hero Points farming in WvW its an agony…3 hours of zerging for litterally nothing
- Hero Points farming in the new maps…need masteries to kittening jump from a tree to an other…ofc if its not a kittening champion + 4 elite adds on a 2 inch platform 345463545 Km up in the sky.
- The new map gave me just frustration and an headache.
I have 8 characters….if u expect me to do this BS 7 more times to unlock the elites…u are dead wrong.Its not goning to happend.

This is my biggest turn off for the expansion, can’t play what I payed for. Only reasonable way to get hero points is through hero challenges, challenges that are gated by masteries, masteries that require you to mindlessly farm events for days doing the same thing over and over? Then most hero challenges require you to kill something, something that 2 shots you and requires more players. So I’m dependent on other players to progress my character on the first day of the expansion? Not to mention I couldn’t even figure out where half the challenges were. Didn’t know if I just couldn’t find them or needed a mastery. I’m sorry but this has got to be the worst set of developer choices ever made.
But it’s ok guys, we got gliders, yay…for 45€
Can’t solo any challenges. For some reason almost every hero challenge needs to be a jumping puzzle with heights and gliders and puzzles, all of today spent playing the game in this frustrating environment just to get 20% of my elite spec done. What a kittenty expansion

45€ for this frustrating experience? First I don’t know who thought making us play IN A VERTICAL MAP THAT REQUIRES A GLIDER, without a glider was a good idea, I punched my table 2-3 times before I got a glider.
Second, 400 hero points to unlock elite specs that I can’t even just play the game mode I enjoy for? I gotta do these kittenty hero challenges for it, which I have done 80% in the first 2 zones and got 20% elite spec unlocked. Are you serious? I don’t wanna farm the same events (go here and kill mobs because that hasn’t been done before in this game) over and over, just want my elite spec so I can go WvW
This has got to be the worst experience I’ve ever had in an mmo. First hour of HoT, I got to the new jungle, did story quest then got the message “well, you did some stuff now go farm random events to get your glider, and oh the whole map is about verticality so have fun navigating it without a glider”. At one point or another I actually punched my table out of pure frustration. Or mobs doing half your health in one hit when I have 2.9k armor, like are you serious?
And oh, after the whole day of playing, I unlocked 20% of my elite spec and I’ve done 80% of the hero challenges in the first 2 zones. Are you serious? And apparently nothing gives me hero xp so wtf am I suppose to do to unlock it?
Same crap for masteries, have to do the same kittenty events I hated in the original gw2, basically “oh a random event poped up, oh guess what, gotta defend this area from monsters that stun you / kill you in 2 hits, have fun”
And you charge 45€ for this frustrating experience? I don’t even know what to say
honestly this is just a kittened way to gate your content
Well and having it be a final pulse ruins the skill for me, because it’s hard to keep everyone grouped up for a whole 3 seconds, at least in WvW. Maybe if a commander calls for a water field you can drop it at the same time but then you’re just overlapping a water field with an ethereal field so you’re not really helping that much.
Or if I really need the healing myself I have to sit there like a target dummy for 3 s, I just don’t see why this would be a good thing…
For the first time I felt like I could contribute to a fight’s outcome in WvW with the latest version of chronomancer because they finnaly listed to feedback and all wells were improved.
If they interpret this as overpowered and things like completely broken healing druid stays in the game then I don’t know what to think anymore. I’m hoping it doesn’t get nerfed
I completely agree with you OP. If gw2 is trying to go away from trinity of roles, then why was druid created? The healing values, and practically no down time (I tested in WvW, 1 staff auto attack and celestial is up, even without enemy targets) makes this elite spec a TRUE healer. Even revenant that has the healing tablet feels like a support because the healing is not that out of proportions and the range is small.
I just don’t get where they were going with this design, was it because of raids? …
I played druid in WvW and the amount of healing output is absolutely kittened (too good). One auto attack from staff and celestial is up, and you can just spam heal everyone for a lot. Although this was true I found the gameplay boring, you just spam your skills over and over without any thought put into it. I’d like the skills to have more risk factor to them, like having to time them properly.
I believe your stance for gw2 is to not have any defined roles, so I don’t see why druid is the only one that becomes a true healer. I also tried healing revenant last beta weekend and the healing output is just way inferior, with less AoE range (tablet only heals when passing through targets for example) and an energy cost tied into the healing skills. Although healing revenant was more fun because of tablet management and actual thought put into casting something

Coming from WvW, i appreciate you listening to our feedback and improving wells across the board (well of recall applying chill per tick not on ending etc etc) but I still feel well of eternity should have the final healing distributed along with the ticks, like the condi cleanse. So instead of doing one final burst of healing to allies, heal with each pulse. There’s already way better options if you wanna support-heal (revenant and druid) so I don’t see this breaking our class, just a quality of life change.
Furthermore I still feel some of the chronomancer traits do not work too well for WvW. Specifically the grand master tree, for example the slow after 5 critical hits could be applied in a radius around my target instead of just 1 target limitation.

in WvW ventari is really good for sieges (you can place on top of the enemy’s walls and put up the projectile absorb). I was getting good healing numbers with full cleric gear as well.
Still, because it has a kinda useless elite (was always too energy starved to cast a 50 energy knockback for mediocre healing on the ground), I might seeing myself move away from cleric gear and go with dwarf / glint. That’s assuming dwarf gets buffed slightly, the tenacity skill is very weak.
I support the suggestions mentioned. I tried playing with jalis in WvW and every skill felt underwhelming (except heal).
Inspiring Reinforcement – Animation too slow, not enough duration even when standing on it and unusable on the move
Forced Engagement- This energy cost makes no sense, I used it once to try it out and that was it…
Vengeful Hammers- Energy upkeep was a tad too high. You can get permanent protection with Glint and with less energy upkeep
Rite of the Great Dwarf- the 50 energy cost and 5 s duration can really punish you for trying to use it before an engagement. It’s too early to tell but a slightly higher duration would be better. I suppose it’s balanced around hitting 5 targets.
I think a more reliable stun break for Jalis would make the stun break for allies trait on Herald tree a better combo for a front line support build. Maybe add it to forced engagement. I feel that skill needs to be reworked

Since all hammer skills are slow, I liked that coalescence of ruin was a reliable way to hit people. Can’t comment on the damage or cooldown, maybe it can be increased from 2 s → 3 s cd.
The facets felt fine considering their active abilities require you to be in the middle of the action. And we’ve lacked a true boon support spec in gw2 imo.
As for the dwarf stance, inspiring reinforcement (tenacity road) takes too long to finish the animation and start ticking. For example if you’re running forward and cast it, you only get one stack at the very end of it and it only lasts 1,25 s anyway. I think an increase in animation speed to atleast tick twice would be a good change.
Also, facet of chaos active ability is dropping my frames by at least 20-30 (sitting in divinity’s reach I go from 100 to 70 fps when I use it)
Some people have covered these points already but: (an opinion based on WvW)
Shield #4 should proc the phantasm regardless if it blocks or not. Also it should block for the whole duration, one attack is useless in WvW. If you do implement this change, remove the second block + phantasm
All wells should last 2 seconds total, OR have the final effect split into all 3 pulses. Damage is also low in my opinion.
Gravity well needs a radius increase and I’m not liking that it can be blocked either (casted a well on a huge group, all I was getting was blocked
Lost time grandmaster trait should affect up to 5 targets (near your initial target) since there’s no useful grandmaster trait for WvW big fights. I don’t care about quickness, and phantasms die instantly anyway, doesn’t matter that they are resummoned after shatter
Well of precognition is unusable in any situation, 45 second cd for an unblockable effect? Self stability for 1 second on it also seems kinda random. Maybe pulse stability instead for a kitten cd?
Like I said above, well of recall is an example of a well that should pulse chilled, not just on the final pulse. By the time it ends, no one is standing on it.
Well of eternity, again 3 s to pulse is too long, I’d rather use a normal heal
I tried it in WvW and did feel like it could be a viable way to play. Didn’t feel clunky at all. My only “beef” is that the heal on use utility is kinda low for the energy cost. I’d rather just move the tablet. I feel this could have an increased cooldown and healing value to be used as an emergency heal or on regroups
First I’d like to say they are good suggestions overall, but my problem is that I only play WvW, and any well in this environment is never going to do the final effect when I want it. Even time warp was never a very useful elite because people just move around too much.
My suggestion is to just decrease the well’s duration to 2s total (especially the healing well).
Well of precognition needs to be changed, it’s straight up unusable, big cooldown for a mediocre effect.
Well of recall could have the chill split into every tick, no one is gonna stay on top of the well for 3 seconds.
As for the damage, I’m gonna try a full berserker build and see how it performs but I’m not sure they are better then necro wells.
As for #4 shield, the phantasm should proc in the end of the block duration regardless if you blocked or not, feels terrible to sit there in hopes of it proccing.
EDIT: The grandmaster traits of chrono tree are kinda useless in WvW. I’d like lost time to affect up to 5 targets (near my target) other than just one target in total

I tried blink + 2 wells on reset day yesterday, I posted my concerns on another thread but long story short, I felt like the end of well effect (like alacrity) is a bit unreliable and you kinda have to drop and hope it does the intended effect (like well of recall, 3s to get an aoe chilled? Ele chill field is instant).
Gravity well radius seems a bit small for an elite.
Healing well, again 3 seconds to give allies a heal, is too long of a time (Even as a self heal).
All in all, I don’t see why any organized group would prefer a mesmer well bomb, to a necro well bomb which does more dmg and has more immediate effects. And they can follow up with death shroud + staff marks, we go back to lacking AoE when wells are on cooldown.
It’s just like the rest of our spells, a lot of purple going around, not a lot accomplished.
The grandmaster traits also seem kinda useless for WvW big fights. Lost time (build charges on crit, then slow a target) should be changed to affect multiple targets near the initial target

I tried chronomancer in WvW on reset and my initial thought is that the 3 second delay before it heals allies is too long. Even as a self heal alone, I have to stand still and wait while everyone else is moving around (I know I can cast ahead of me but it’s sometimes hard to predict where we’re moving next). I’d much rather have the final burst be divided into 3 ticks along with the vigor, or just reduce duration to 2s.
Similar to the healing well, the end of well effects like alacrity on allies or other effects is abit unreliable and I’d much rather see those effects divided into the pulses themselves to make these skills more consistent.

I apologize in advance if this question has been covered before, but I didn’t pre-order before the last stress test so I’m not sure.
Will I automatically be eligible to participate in the upcoming stress test? If so where should I go to download it? Or is it like beta events where it happens on live?

Desolation has been full even before they changed the population calculations. As for SFR some raged after we double teamed them last week, so maybe you can squeeze in there. FSP is also a good server, their blob and guilds are good, just lack a bit of night coverage if I’m not mistaken
EDIT: Looks like FSP is now full as well but it wasn’t last week. As for other servers I’m not sure which is the best. I know gandara has a lot of roaming groups that go around ganking people if that’s your style xD. Sorry I couldn’t of been of more help

How is it hilarious? People can target you more easily after you come out of stealth. They just have to press T
Posting this in WvW since this mostly affects this mode. After the patch, you can Ctrl + T a person, and them stealthing won’t remove this target. It will still be there after they come out.
This means commander focus is out of proportion. Just joined a blob vs blob fight and both commanders were always moa’d or being pulled, making the fight for EITHER SIDE not enjoyable. Please revert this if it was intentional.
As someone else said, shouldn’t remove porting through walls because I sometimes port people inside that died and are running back (to garrison sieges for example). Granting the revealed debuff when inside a keep that has the righteous indignation seems like a good idea, (I’m a mesmer, so no bias)
Talking about WvW, if you are just gonna run with a commander in “blob” fights (which is most likely since you’re not that experienced in the game from your post), then mesmer is not that good. You are just gonna use veil when commander asks, then run around trying to focus down one person. In that case, I’d strongly advice you to play necromancer, since they a lot more AoE damage and contribute a lot more to winning the fight.
If you just wanna go WvW to roam around, capping camps solo and stuff like that, mesmer is better than necromancer. (although the usual roaming build for mesmer is condition)
If you wanna get really good at the game in WvW then your guild might make focus parties of 5 people and your job is to focus down 1 person quickly. So it really depends on what you wanna spend your time / commitment.
Either way mesmer is not that straightforward, and in my opinion thief and mesmer are the hardest classes to master and I’m sure you’d have more fun on a necromancer.
I don’t do PvP so I can’t comment on that.
EDIT: Either way, gearing up is not that hard (in PvP you don’t even have to gear up, can go straight to it in a lvl 1 character), so you can just level one than the other. I for one started on an engineer then switched, take your time to enjoy the game

Yes, it comes later. Not in the mail though. It just appears on your character line up. They send them out once a week, it may be Friday.

Not sure if you’re still following the thread, but coming from a WvW standpoint, and since I’ve been trying to be a support mesmer for 2 years, I was wondering if the Well of Eternity duration could be reduced to 2s total? (granting the same vigor of 7,5s , just doing the heal sooner).
I’m imagining that commander asks for a quick regroup, I throw down well of eternity and in 2s or so he’s already moving. Or I try to throw down a well of eternity mid fight to try and sustain people but people are moving around and 3s is too long of a time.
Or maybe still have the 3s duration but split the final heal into all 3 ticks? So it’s not as punishing for missing the final tick? I can already tell this is gonna lead to frustrating game play
Why is this relevant? They are not “wasted” if you didn’t pay anything for them. This signet actually only used to grant 1 boon, and it wasn’t swiftness, was random between all boons.

^ Exactly. I think Rift is the only mmo with a similar system, where you can buy souls (basically talent trees) and you can mix and match the new ones with what you already had. But there’s plenty of builds there that work without the new “souls” and like you said there will be builds here that work without the new specializations.
Still, I don’t see why people don’t expect an expansion to be kind of mandatory really. Keeps the game fresh and keeps the developer funded. Everybody wins

You are right. But I believe in some early preview it was a major trait that you had to choose. Still, an expansion is suppose to be vertical progression. Game has been out for 3 years, need something new, I’m tired of horizontal let me go up on my mesmer please

for WvW this skill kinda sucks (my next example is for 30+ people fights). I even sometimes click on a person inside the null field, and I can see like a regeneration falling off, than a protection that was about to end anyway. Only to see those buffs renewed again by the 50 sources they can come from.
Only application it can have, is when they pop stability and push through lines of warding / statics and it happens to drop their stability but that’s not really reliable (considering the limited number of targets) and considering there’s 4-5 other boons on them at the same time.
Just compare it to the necro well that has a similar effect. It deals damage, and in addition to dispelling the boons it also converts them into conditions. The only upside of null field is that it’s a ethereal field and also dispells allies but I don’t consider it a good condi removal for allies either…
What I’d like to know is how our vigor on crit trait was nerfed in the past from five seconds cd to ten seconds cd, but eles kept or were given the same trait on kitten cd? (I don’t know if they had it before).
Also I must be the only organized group / blob WvW mesmer in this game since I never see any changes to help us there. Between blink and veil there’s not much room left for utilities, AoE tagging is painful at times. Feedback is decent but it’s not like ranged should be going down .
Mantra of pain is mostly contributing nothing towards us winning the fight.
Null field does a worse job than the necro well simply because condi cleanse isn’t an issue for the front line (also more visible and “easier” to avoid)
The double distortion was removed, I can only use it once now, at most I’m getting 1-2s of invuln and than I just have dodge and blink and that’s pretty much it. Meanwhile don’t get me started on eles cooldowns to survive whilst having more utility and dmg during a fight. If this class didn’t have veil than no one would want us.
I’m just hoping alacrity from chronomancer is so good that I can do a build around it and be useful (edit: Or i guess if well chronomancer is also good for dmg / utility)

Brief description of what you’re seeing: I was in with another 40 players in WvW, they continued to run in the same direction they were facing, I could still hear teamspeak so my connection wasn’t cut off. After 5s or so, the players returned to the correct positions. This happened twice in 30 minutes

it seems that a game restart fixed it..nevermind I suppose
Hello this problem just started today, I have sound outside of WvW (voices, weapons, spells etc) but once I join WvW, I can only hear some select character voices (like “might makes me right”), no other sound. I tried relogging out and back in but didn’t help..but I didn’t completely restart the game, just went to the character select screen.
Later on I’ll try restart the game, but WvW queues are too long to do it now.
If you know a fix, please let me know
I’d like mimic to copy an elite skill (or random utility), or the idea above to copy a weapon set for afew seconds rather then having charges. I’d also like it to be able to use on a friendly (I’d like to copy a friends ele staff for fields, our shatter skills would be replace by attunements)
Have you guys ever looked at the state of mesmer in WvW? (Looking at organized “blob” vs “blob” perspective )
1) We lack AoE
2) our utility skills just aren’t as impactful (1 condition/boon removed every second from 5 targets in a 40 man blob? please…)
3)there aren’t enough projectiles for feedback to be of any threat to the enemy
4) confusion when people enter/leave glamours just isn’t very impactful either because of condi cleansing or the low amount of stacks it applies
5) Most of our phantasms are single target, and just die easily
6) Mantra radius is so small, we’re not melee, If I’m suppose to run PVT gear just to be in range to do stability or condi cleansing I’d be better off rolling a guardian
7) Other ranged get they’re usefulness from they’re weapons (staff ele, staff necro) and can then use they’re utility slots on self-preserving skills (mist form, armor of earth,etc), whilst we are asked to run veil, null field, feedback etc, leaving staff the only defense weapon
8) We are veil bots / ethereal field applying bots (for chaos armor) and don’t offer much else
