again with this?

It’s coming out in the cantha/crystal desert expansion with four new dungeons, hardmode for current dungeons, and guild housing where your flying mounts can duel while wearing capes that drop legendaries every time you log on.

It’s sad how this actually had me going until I read flying mounts. Kind of sad on my end, but touche nonetheless.

Edit: It’s sad how many times I’ve stated that something is sad throughout this thread.

So, despite Guild Wars 2 being one of my favorite MMOs to date, I haven’t really played the game in quite some time for various reasons. Regardless, I continue to pop in occasionally to keep up on all the new content, but deep down, I have to be honest, all I’m really hoping to see is an update about the SAB…

Yes, Super Adventure Box. I know people have issues with the SAB, and to each their own, but for me, it provided one of the most challenging and fun gaming experiences I’ve had in any MMO. Finishing out all the worlds on tribulation mode is an experience I won’t soon forget. Then you couple that with the fact that I was going through a pretty challenging time in my life when I was conquering the last release, and sad as it may sound to some, it’s really near and dear to my heart as something that helped me get through it all.

So, I ask ArenaNet… When are we going to get the next chapter? Without a shred of doubt, this will bring me back to the game. Has there been any mention anywhere on when we can expect to see something new? Can we get a hint? ANYTHING?!

I love you all. The end. <3

RNG chest items are not fun

snip

Clearly you didn’t realize that there are other options. If you don’t like RNG Chests to get an optional item that only offers cosmetic differences, you can always buy one from the Trading Post. Then, you get your item, and I get my Gold. Everyone is happy!

And one more thing. The reason why you want it so bad is because it’s rare and exclusive. If everyone were able to get something, it would be as desirable as when it were only RNG or high priced. Rarity is one of the factors that drives demand.

This is my favorite argument, pointing out that they’re just optional cosmetic items. I realize what they are, most items in this game are meant to be cosmetic once you level cap, maybe less now with Ascended, but the stat difference is pretty slight. The point is, throwing a couple weapon skins in a highly anticipated event that people are excited for and making them daunting to obtain is not really all that fun. It kind of killed some of my excitement for this event, among other things.

And your last point about only wanting these skins because they are rare proves to me that you didn’t read my entire post (which is fair, it was kind of long). My suggestions was to spread out the rewards better, and to make the rewards worth the time spent during the event. A suggestion I made was more skins, ideally a skin for every weapon, that are more easily attainable. I’m not talking roll your face across the keyboard easy, but right now it’s just too much. On top of that, I suggested keeping the super rare items as well, but focus them towards the more subtle or playful items exclusively like back slots, minis, town clothes, and maybe some new kind of items.

So, again, what I’m suggesting is the exact opposite of your kind presumptuous point. I don’t care if every person in the game has 50 of every single skin, if I like the skin, then I will find enjoyment in getting and using them. If I complete the clock tower, why shouldn’t I get a cool Halloween skin? Why shouldn’t they throw some weapon skins on the Halloween meta achievements similar to the Zenith skins? I mean would you really be opposed to more rewards that are spread out across the event?

You know, considering the patch hasn’t been out even a full day, why not wait and see what happens to the price of the mats in ~24-48 hours?

As for achievements, personally starting to wish ANet would just remove achievements from the game entirely. Everyone is whining about them….

People complain about too many achievements because it feels like they need to do the activity as an AP grind… and then I guess people complain about not enough achievements.

Well the achievement system is here to stay, that much is obvious. It’s kind of ridiculous to implement such a system and then limit achievements on things. I mean, obviously there’s a balance to be had, but come on.

RNG chest items are not fun…

Absurdly grindy craftable items aren’t really fun either…

I mean seriously, this game is becoming a grindy, time-gated mess. These events become more and more tiresome to me. Why are you so afraid of rewarding a wide range of players? Why aren’t there more ways to get these skins? Why do you feel the need to make them super rare and exclusive?

Look, I get it, I get having some exclusive and really hard to obtain items, but there seem to be no balance for people who actually want to have fun playing this game and not spend ridiculous amounts of time to feel rewarded participating in this event.

For instance, the Clocktower, arguably one of the hardest JPs in the game, while not loved by every one, it should be a one of a few different ways of being rewarded with a Halloween weapon skin of choice (at least the first time around). Finishing the meta achievements? Skin. Finishing the storyline? Skin. Spread these rewards out and stop being so stingy with them, it’s not fun, it’s stressful.

What would be bad about making a wider array of skins that are fairly attainable? Something we can constantly be working towards during the event. Then the minis and the back piece skins can be the super rare and exclusive items. If that’s not enough, you could even make new types of subtle reward of the RNG and grindy kind.

How about a one time use Halloween weapon effect that you can apply to items? Like the weapon effect on the Chiroptophobia that you can apply to any weapon. Or some super exclusive foot drops that you can apply to any boots.

This spreads the love out a lot more, it makes desirable and fun skins more attainable, thus making the event feel unique and reward, while keeping rare and exclusive, but more subtle rewards there too.

Off topic question if anyone knows: Do the chests with the tokens reset with the dailies in-game, or do they reset 24 hours from when you opened it? My guess is they reset with the dailies, but I want to make sure before I waste my night running the zones over for nothing.

In April when World One and SAB in general was introduced we got to have a LOT of discussion with Josh. One of the discussions was about how people farmed the kitten out of the game. World One is so much easier than World 2 it’s a little crazy. It was possible to fly through the whole thing in ten minutes with 500 baubles, as long as you had the shovel and bomb, and knew where the secrets where.

As such, people had stacks of bauble bubbles by the end of the month. The consideration from Josh was that the price of weapons would be adjusted to account for how rapidly people were able to acquire bubbles. Apparently, though, rather than doing that they opted to go in a different direction to limit the skins. It makes sense, if you consider how much content has been relying on time gating recently.

Personally I agree, it’s stupid. They could have make the weapons cost five times as much, but left dig spots as a per run situation, and left chests per character instead of per account, and it would have evened out. It would mean in order to get two skins you would still have to use a different character and start from the beginning, but it’s better than not even having that option at all.

I totally get what you’re saying and I agree that’s definitely a better answer than time gating (anything is really), but at the same time, why even ramp costs up that much? I especially don’t like having to spend gold, since I’m not making gold in the SAB. I would much rather buy these items strictly with Bubble Baubles, but again, that would mean making them constantly farmable. And one or two at the end of tribulation zones is not even close to enough.

And for the people who can speed run tribulation modes in 10 minutes, they’ve obviously put in a lot of time to get to that point, dozens and dozens of hours mastering the paths and refining every single step. I definitely can’t run these in 10 minutes, but I could probably knock World 2 out in a couple hours now, and I put A LOT of time and effort into it to even get to that point. Isn’t that enough to say, hey, who cares how fast they are getting these items? If they get every single skin, then great, they deserve it for the work they put into it. It’s not like the items are entering the economy.

Admittedly, I’m partially bitter because I literally won’t have the time to run these again for the tokens before the event ends. It bums me out because I finally mastered World 2, and due to time gating, I can’t reap the rewards I feel I deserve in these last couple days.

On top of all that, they aren’t reusable skins like some of the other achievement rewards. That’s a whole other topic entirely though.

So let me start by saying I’ve really enjoyed my time in the SAB and I’ve finally just completed tribulation mode in both Worlds today. World 2 was obviously brutal, but finishing it was really gratifying. I got the Storm Wizard shield, and it looks great, so I think, hey, I’m going to go clear it all again while it’s fresh in my mind so I can get a main hand before the event is over.

Anyone familiar with SAB sees where this is going… I start Zone 3 first as I find it to be the most frustrating of the 3 zones, and thankfully I drastically improve my time, but it’s still tough and time consuming. As I excitedly approach the chest I’m instead greeted with disappointment as the chest is completely empty.

Wait, this a joke or something, right? What?…

Sure, maybe I should have researched it before heading in a second time so I didn’t waste my time for literally NOTHING, but honestly, this is not content that constitutes having time gated rewards. This is literally the most challenging platforming content in the game, and I’d even go as far to say some of the hardest content of any recent game I’ve played.

So, then, the question is, if I’m willing to farm the content, putting in the hours for the tokens and the extra 2 gold to make each piece, why shouldn’t I be able to do that? Honestly, someone give me ONE good reason why I shouldn’t be able to go into the SAB right now, and be rewarded for my effort? Why shouldn’t I be able to farm these tokens as much a my sadistic heart desires? There’s no good reason. Zip. Zilch. Nadda.

If ArenaNet is concerned with people farming it too quickly, then that’s bogus. If someone is willing to take the time to master the content, I don’t care how fast they speed run it, they should be rewarded for that every single time. They took the time to master it, period.

How many times does the community have to tell the developers that time gating these rewards is not, and never will be fun. For some content, it’s acceptable, but for some of the most challenging content in the game? I honestly can’t even understand the logic…

I currently have the Molten Jetpack, but I am looking forward for the slickpack.
It looks steampunk and that is the look I want.

So yes I want the pack… the weapons….. eeeeeh meeeeeh
Maybe if the weapons were red or green….
they look too much like ghost weapons from ascalon.

Engineers have it better than most with these back slot rewards in my opinion, because backpacks are pretty much part of the classes trademark aesthetic. Obviously, it’s very subjective, but for an Engineer, I can totally see how the Slickpack is desirable as it totally fits the classes hallmark look.

What I’d really like to see is more variety and options, not just these weird out of place skins that sometimes work for a certain class. Or maybe just some other type of rewards in general. Or, again, some sweet cloaks/capes.

I like that they keep adding wildly different backpack skins, and for the most park the backpack slot is turning in to the “living story gizmo” slot.

Like, I enjoy that there’s a visual gear slot mostly dedicated to LS visual rewards as it makes the LS a visual part of characters in a very real way. I also understand WHY it’s the backpack slot, as it’s very easy to position and scale static objects that rest on a relatively flat part of all characters.

Yeah, I mean, I agree in that regard, about having a visual gear slot. I guess I just don’t like slapping dorky backpacks on my character in general. I’d welcome some more serious rewards, maybe some really nice cloaks for example.

Now, I know cloaks/capes aren’t for everyone, but having different options would be a good thing, and like them or not, they make a lot more sense than some goofy backpack. At least then we could potentially mix the item in with the rest of a look.

And I’m not suggesting these backpack choices shouldn’t be there, I understand some people enjoy them, I guess I’d just like more variety.

… Who thinks backpack skins are not fun or desirable rewards for these events? I know, I know, there are new weapon skins and yadda yadda, but when I read:

“Show off your prowess with the new Slickpack back item. It glows, it gleams, and it lets the whole world know that you bested the dangers of Twilight Assault!”

It just doesn’t excite me. Sure, some of the wing skins have been cool, albeit, a little gimmicky and out of place, but whatever, I’m just not really diggin’ backpack skins being a common reward for these events.

You may say, “Well, you don’t have to get them if you don’t like them…”

Sure, I guess that’s true, and this all probably comes off really complainy (that’s a word, right?) but I enjoy these events, and spending time completing the new content is a lot of fun, I just wish there were some cooler incentives. Rewards that I could really get excited for. Backpack skins are just meh… Am I the only one?

I hope this doesn’t come off as lazy sounding, but I was hoping someone could direct me to a detailed guide on getting the achievements for World 1 in the new SAB release.

I missed the SAB the first time around, so I’m trying to clear World 1 completely before moving on and I’ve followed guide after guide, particularly for World 1, Zone 3 and still I am not getting the Master of Baubles achievement. I’m thinking maybe the zone has been altered in this new release and I’m looking at old guides?

I honestly have no idea, but most of the ones I’ve found are very hard to follow and I can’t seem find a solid and complete walkthrough. I must be missing something in the zone somewhere, but I’m following these guides step by step and can’t figure out what bauble I’m missing.

Maybe some different, more current guides will help me out? I’m desperate at this point, haha. Thanks!

My OCD can no longer handle it ArenaNet, and I need help. All I’m asking here is please… PLEASE fix the PvP icon in the menu’s UI!

Let me elaborate for normal people out there. See, long ago, you added a new PvP icon to the upper left menu’s UI, which is definitely quite awesome, but whoever on the team implemented this forgot to use the slightly smaller version of the icon, and instead used the size that should have been used when the icon is moused over. When you mouse over any other icon in the upper left menu, they grow ever so slightly as well as change color. This particular icon does not change size correctly, only color, and therefore, I cry on a daily basis.

I try to ignore it, but it just sits there, all fat… And pompous, taunting me. I try to avoid it until I finally decide I want to do some PvP, but oh noes! I forgot the hot key… Screw you icon, I’m not clicking you, I’m going to bed.

This is also causing issues with my marriage, my wife and I no longer get along and we’re actually seeking out counseling. I fear if this oversight isn’t corrected soon, I’m gonna lose her, man.

That being said, my question is, are there plans to open servers that are full to these guest accounts for the weekend?

Or are the guests account linked to the account that referred them somehow, allowing them to reside in the same home world?

I ask because the server I’m on is completely full, and no matter what time of the day it is, it seems to stay that way. My concern is that my friends won’t be able to play on my server, which would kind of defeat the purpose, and I’m sure, hinder the experience for them.

I actually like this idea more than instancing the event and making it “solo”. Half the fun is running around with a bunch of random people, trying to overcome the challenge together. This would keep that aspect, while putting everyone on the same level. Good call.

Exactly. Add a nice reward, account bound, just on the first completion. That also addresses JellyRabbit’s concern about being able to farm the crap out of it on other characters for outrageous profit once you’ve mastered it. After you’ve completed it once, subsequent completions would go back to rewarding you with typical items that are good for farming purposes.

Well, you said “or made slower”, so I guess I focused too much on that rather than your point, sorry. That all said, I still welcome the challenge and wouldn’t want it to be changed. Maybe an additional easier mode, with a different achievement and less loot.

It’s hard because you want to give everyone a chance to enjoy the content, but you want to reward the people who actually took the time to master it. Maybe that’s the way to do it.

ill tell u why it’s not rewarding as u want it to be, thats my opinion atleast, after you finish once it becomes easy, i can finish it in 3 tries now every time i try or even less depends on stupid mistakes if i do them, so i can get into another character and start doing it again and again from like 5 diffrent characters or something and its really easy and the rewards will be too good, right now the jumping puzzle isnt challenging after ur 4 hours on it trying to beat it ( i finished it 7 times in thoose 4 hours but i had a bug in the last jump it doesnt teleport me andi had to relog in order to fix that )
and i accept, this jumping puzzle was awesome, and challenging, just like i wanted and expected it to be !

Fair enough, though anything is easy once you’ve mastered it. And by simply observing the community, mastering this one isn’t so easy, and I love that too. I absolute love the challenge.

But are you telling me you don’t want to be rewarded the same for the time you put into mastering the tower, perhaps, as someone who bought some keys and opened a chest? That’s really my point.

Slow down the green goop, doesn’t have to be a lot, just give us some time to move our darn mouses.
I mean heck, top down view zooms in when trying to jump because something is above my head, or too close to the side of me.

If the “timer” wasn’t included or made much slower, this puzzle would be quite simple to complete, I feel. There are a few tricky jumps, sure, but that’s more due to not being able to stand there and gauge them at your leisure than their being some kind of wacky angle.

If it were made slow so you could time every jump, what would be the point of it at all? The whole point is that you don’t get to sit there and gauge your jumps for more than a few seconds, maybe less at the start, maybe longer towards the end. But slowing it down would kill the rush and defeat the purpose entirely.

No, I’m not kidding!

And before I go on, let me first say, I’ve actually yet to finish the event myself, getting very close, and very confident I will.

Bottom line is, the idea is great, the challenge is great, the music is phenomenal, I really do love this event overall. The multiple players doing it at once doesn’t really bother me, though I see how it could be an issue for some, but like I said, I just really welcome the challenge more than anything.

So just when I think that nothing about this event could go wrong, other players start linking the drops from their chests. I didn’t think much of it at first, but as I continued to fall again and again, I watched enviously as others succeeded and linked their drops, and, well, I got less and less excited to complete it. Of course, I still have every intention of finishing it, overcoming a challenge like this is what gamers love to do, but seeing the “rewards” I had to look forward to obviously killed some of the drive and excitement. That’s when I realized the developers were so close to finally making this holiday event hit home with me, I really had to come express my views, in hopes that I wasn’t the only one.

Here’s where I cut to the chase

This part of the Halloween event is brilliant because they took out the incredibly frustrating aspect of RNG that literally plagues it, and finally gave us something to really challenge us. Finally, a chance to reward us for skill, and not just dumb luck.

So what happened?

Well, to be quite frank, the reward isn’t all that great, which is odd, because I’d argue that this has been one of the most challenging moments in the game thus far, at least for me anyways. So the question is, why aren’t there some good rewards for people who actually take the time to overcome a challenge like this? Take the weapon skins for example, they are clearly a big hit with this event, people want them, but the only hope to get them is to get incredibly lucky opening a bajillion chests or farming for gold until your eyes bleed.

It seems clear to me that ArenaNet wants items like these to mean something; something that a player can really show off for their accomplishments. This event is the perfect way to do that, it’s better than RNG, it’s hard, it’s a challenge, so make the reward worth it, let this be the way a player can actually play the game to get the awesome Halloween fluff, or better yet, make more fluff, exclusive to this event.

It just doesn’t make sense to me that the person who got lucky gets rewarded over the person who fell off that spinning tower hundreds of times, probably broke a couple keyboards, got into a fight over it with their spouse (just kidding, don’t do those last two things, it’s just a game!), until they finally made it to the top. It just seems backwards to me.

So how does it make sense?

To me, it just doesn’t, and I feel like people are turning to, perhaps, more reproachable explanations… Unfortunately, and I’m not saying I agree, but it’s all coming back to greed linked to the cash shop. Business is business, and I get that, but this is the negative message this event has sent people. Some town clothes costumes were a fantastic idea for the cash shop, but chest gambling? It’s definitely a slippery slope, especially when we can’t even be rewarded the same way in areas of the game that actually challenge us.

Again though, great job overall on this event ArenaNet. I’m really enjoying the game, and enjoying Halloween for the most part, and most of all, I love how challenging the Clock Tower is. I just hope this gives you guys something to consider moving into the future, and not just for these events, but for any content really.

TL;DR: I’d simply like to see people being rewarded the same for overcoming challenges, as they do for getting lucky.

rare skins and feeling "unique"?

How come no one talks about the free devil horns? I think they’re pretty cool. Oh wait, everyone gets them, therefore it’s meh?

Are you comparing tiny devil horns that you can only wear on your town set, to sweet sexy items that you can permanently apply to your weapons? Sure, it’s all subjective, but let’s get real, you know it doesn’t compare.

Trust me, if the weapon skins or witch costume were free, or at least easier to obtain, I could care less who else has it, I’d feel awesome repping any of it. On that note, I don’t think people are really asking that the skins be handed to them for free either, but right now people are being rewarded for dumb luck, not skill or any sort of accomplishment in the game.

Why I'm not happy with the Halloween event

God forbid your hand isn’t held. I’ve played quite a few MMO’s I hate hand holding. Where the challenge in that. There are plenty of MMO’s that you can click the quest and it will even run you to the location.

Having to explore some is refreshing, I wish there was more of it.

I don’t disagree with this, but I honestly don’t know how some of the ghosts were suppose to be found given the terribly vague clues. I tried exploring, I spent a lot of time exploring, maybe I’m just dumb, but I finally gave up because this world is too massive to run around aimlessly with very little guidance. Challenge doesn’t have to mean being lost and getting frustrated until you have to Google it.

I’m definitely a very casual player myself, and I can see where the OP is coming from, but my personal gripe (and I think many others) isn’t about the rarity of the items, it’s the fact that a lot of what makes this event awesome ended up revolving around the cash shop, and that just takes a lot of fun out it. It feels gimmicky.

Admittedly, I bought into the gimmick, purchasing 20 keys and not getting anything out of it. It leaves a really bad taste in my mouth, and I don’t plan to purchase gems like that again. Part of what makes this game so appealing to me is I’ve never felt like I had to buy into the cash shop to not miss out on awesome content… Until this event.

Sure, you can tell me that I don’t have to buy into these items, and you’d be right, but truth be told, I want to. Plain and simple, because I would argue some of these skins are better than a lot of the legendary skins, and I’d love to get my hands on some. I’m pretty sure almost any Necromancer would take the scythe skin over the Bifrost, and honestly, I’d take the somewhat cheesy spider bow skin any time of the year over the Dreamer.

I guess my point is, I would at least like to feel like I have a chance at these rare skins without spending real money, even if I don’t end up getting a single thing, having the best parts of the event revolve around the cash shop just doesn’t sit well with me, it’s not fun, and quite frankly discourages me slightly with ArenaNet’s “vision” going into the future.

All they would have to do is give these skins a chance to drop in dungeon chests, jump puzzle chests, rare daily drops, rare mystic forge recipes, anything. Or make them challenging to get, but, oh I dunno, fun? RNG is not fun. Ever.

TL;DR: Keep the items rare, sure, no problem. But, there should be other ways to obtain these skins, not linked to just the cash shop.

explorer's exalted vs. knight's exalted

It would seem that the site you’ve linked isn’t showing the 3% MF that is on the exotic Explorer’s gear. That is why you’d go for it over the Knight’s gear.

Edit: Odd. The GW database isn’t showing it either, just look up the actual insignia, it shows that the Explorer gives power, precision, and magic find.

Ugh, I Want To Like Crafting So Bad, But...

2+ gold to go from bronze to midway iron in weaponsmithing?! It is clear you have not identified how to properly maximize your leveling experience.

I went from 300 weapon and 100 armor to 400 in both with less than 4 gold investment (though with a couple thousand karma).

The key to leveling your craft is not actually CRAFTING anything. It’s all about discovery.

For each tier you are in, buy ONE recipe from that level from the smith merchant (this is where karma comes into play). You only need one recipe so make it worth it (either you get use from the stats or you can sell it). You always want to work with the MAX level recipe you can work with.

Then make the highest level inscription you can using this recipe and DISCOVER each weapon/armor type using said inscription. Your crafting will level at ridiculous rates.

The only time you should ever craft anything in weapon/armorsmithing is the ingots, plated dowels, and bolts of whatever mats you’re dealing with, and doing so is generally without XP gain intentions. That is, do not craft these mats to gain XP unless it is the ONLY option available to you until you can get the next level.

This is all very good advice for sure, discovery definitely is the key.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t change the fact that there is no effective way to farm for the fine crafting materials needed. I shouldn’t have to spend gold on the trading post to acquire them, I should be able to go out and gather the materials needed if I’d like, but as it stands, this is frustratingly hard to do if you have any hopes of keeping your professions on par, or close to on par, with your level.

That is my main issue with crafting right now, and from the looks of it, the sporadic drop mechanics of the fine crafting materials are the biggest problem.

I have a strong suspicion that architecture will flesh out with the addition of guild halls.

You’re probably right. They should at least throw some fillers rewards in for the time being though, if this were the case.

I stick by what I said before, the upgrades should go something more like this in the architecture tree:

Level 3:
- New upgrade: Guild Vault expansion: Adds an additional 25 slots to the Guild Vault. (about 2500 influence)
- Treasure Trove moved to this level. (same price)

Level 4
- Deep Cave moved to this level. (same price)

Level 5
- New upgrade: Guild Collections: Adds a guild collections tab into the guild bank. (This one would obviously cost quite a lot and take some serious build time)

This would allow every level to have an upgrade, thus making the pacing feel a lot better. Also, being able to expand the Guild Vault, even a little, at the lower level could help out smaller guilds if it was a reasonable price. And, obviously, at the end of the tree, any guild would have a crazy good amount of space, which is going to feel awesome. Some might say it’s overkill, but I’d rather have more space than not enough. Plus, it’s not overkill as long as the reward is equal to the time invested, which in this case, I’d say it totally would be.

Guild Architecture Level 3... For Cereal?

I’m the guild leader of a small guild and although I wish they would bring down the influence req for bigger guild vaults, I think the current state of the guild vault to influence req system is implemented quite fairly.

The reason is smaller guild will have less members than bigger guilds, thus earning influence at a slower rate and less likely to be required to have bigger guild vaults. Big guilds with over hundreds of members will earn influence at a much faster rate and will even find the largest guild vault req to be reasonable and achievable. It’s a fair game I’d say. The bigger the guild, the more likely they will need or deserves a bigger vault and find which ever bank size to be just right for its size at an achievable rate.

Don’t get me wrong, I can definitely understand the logic and reasoning behind what you’re saying, but what that ultimately means is that bigger guilds will always have an advantage over smaller guilds, in addition to the already obvious advantages, and that is what I don’t agree with.

The size of a guild should have less impact on how the guild is able to progress, it should be more of a preference to the player/s. Some people enjoy large guilds, others, like myself, prefer being in a small, tight knit group of people they are close with and can rely on. The idea that larger guilds should have, or even deserve larger vaults or more rewards in general makes sense on the surface, but I don’t see how the concept is fun. Allowing smaller guilds to be able to gain influence on par, or at least closer to the same pace of a larger guild would really have no negative impact on anyone. So why not? Why would someone not be okay with it? Is it an ego thing with people in larger guilds? I sure hope not.

Anyways, just to be clear, all the other areas of upgrades have felt pretty good so far, and my bigger concern here is that architecture, level 3 in particular, is lacking, and smaller guilds feel that a bit more than larger guilds. To have a dead level in any tree is just bad, for any sized guild.

I don’t quite understand where you’re going with this, but I think you missed my point.

No, I get your point. You claim your issue is about the Architecture 3 not granting anything special, but I trust you realize it’s simply Architecture 4 split up over 2 projects. They could remove it, but then they’d have to make Architecture 4 more expensive, resulting in 0 gain for the players.

Indeed I do realize that, that’s my point exactly. Why?… What is the purpose for offering absolutely nothing on that level? It doesn’t make any sense and, like I said, just feels bad. It’s a dead level. Not sure if there’s many people who actually enjoy them. It would be like leveling up on your character and being exactly where you started before you leveled. No trait point, no stat gains, nothing. And then you could tell me, “Well next level you get all that, the level takes 4 times longer, but they just had to split the reward into two levels.”

… And I would say exactly what I’m saying now… Why? Why offer no reward, or why split the level?

Your underlying issue is quite clear. You want to be done with things faster. Well, I can assure you that compared to some games (cough Star Kitten Online cough), small guilds have it easy. The number of rewards you can actually unlock is short. When you get something, you actually get something (apart from Architecture 3 of course). Everything can be unlocked in 3 months or so, even with small guilds, because you’ll also get Influence boosters during your storyline.

I said more than once that I was okay with the time it takes, though yes, I definitely think it would be more fair if influence gains would account for how many active members were in a guild. I’m sure a formula could be lined out to have the time investment for each guild be on par with each other regardless of size. ON PAR.

What I’d more like to see though is something added to level 3. More substance in the architecture tree in general. This has nothing to do with the time it takes. It could be as small as some banners, or maybe just an additional upgrade to the main Vault that adds 25 to 50 more slots.

In a perfect world, they would move Treasure Trove to level 3, Deep Cave to level 4, and add a new Guild Collections tab to level 5. This would flow so perfectly and each rank would feel very rewarding.

The only thing that seems to be tough for small guilds to get is the bigger bank. But when you’re a small guild…

…you don’t need it.

I’d say this is debatable. Sure, maybe we don’t need it, but it would definitely be nice at this point. We have people from all level ranges, and just a couple people who have hit cap, so we’re constantly cycling through all tiers of mats and crafts to help each other along the way. We always seem to be scrambling for more room with the 50 slots we have currently.
