Font of Rhand mortar bug

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Fallout.1798

Fallout.1798

This issue still persists… I cannot interact with the mortar, and relogging will send me to Lion’s Arch. I’ve tried on three different characters to no avail.
Plllleeeeeease do something about this! ._.

First, I’m sorry that you haven’t gotten to the Font yet. It’s hard to understand why they’ve left this bug for so long, since it’s a required step for getting Mawdrey. I’m also surprised that logging out/back keeps sending you to LA — it doesn’t for nearly everyone else who has reported back to this forum.

Fortunately, there’s another work-around. While you are on the map, take one of the many portals to Rhendak’s Tomb (usually, people just say “port to Rhendak”). Then, work your way backwards from the Tomb to the Font; each gate you encounter can be opened from the ‘wrong’ side, so there won’t be anything blocking progress.

Good luck and please let us know how it works out.

There is another way past the bugged mortar, and I’m surprised no one has mentioned this.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Font_of_Rhand
You can instead of taking the left stairway down to the mortar, go down the right stairway instead. Go into the water, and at the bottom you will find a chain you can pull. The chain will break the wall right in front of said chain. note that it seems sometimes the chain does not break the wall as I found out the other day, have patience and keep trying, move around a bit until it works

Silverwastes: pack bull refuses to move

Fallout.1798

I have seen this happen all too often with this supply bull as well. The enemy mordrem that are suppose to spawn at this ambush point do not even show up. Getting the bull killed with the nearby enemies so event resets also does not fix it. This has been happening ever since the Point of No Return update. I suspect it is in part caused by the giant vine that is right next to the bull.

Fallout.1798

I agree with Palador. We’re sort of in an event loop, and the whole Pact thing is the prelude to Heart of Thorns. Also note that Canach seemed to be himself.

Someone else posited that the Pale Tree is a Glint analog and is protecting Her children from the corruption as best She can. That gives an out to RPers who want to stay on the “good side.” Though Soundless may be in trouble …

One thing I noticed in the cutsceen. You see Faolain fighting against and killing the pact troops. This means that the Nightmare Court have now officially joined Mordremoth. This tells me that it is the Sylvari who have fallen to nightmare, and thus without the protection of the pale tree, who have joined Mordremoth.

Removing white swords from objectives to give defenders a stronger role in alerting their team as well as giving attackers more of a chance to get through having their siege disabled.

I am going to join the crowd here in saying that removing white contested swords would be a HUGE mistake. Attackers already have the advantage in attacking a tower/keep in that contested white swords don’t show up for 30 seconds. That is enough time for a zerg to use 3 or more rams/catapults to destroy or majorly weaken the tower. Lower tier servers do NOT have the manpower to stage a scout in each and every tower and keep. This will do nothing but give karma train zergs another advantage. Removing white swords would make it literally required to have a scout in each tower and keep AT ALL TIMES. Maybe Tier 1 servers could manage it…but other servers could not manage it.
Please do not remove white contested swords, I’m begging you here Anet. This would be a huge mistake. The 30 second delay on white swords showing up is enough as it is.

[Bug] Dredge commissar, Foulbear Kraal

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Fallout.1798

So with the new item collection achievements, there has now be renewed player interest in the less-often fought world bosses: the Dredge Commissar in Dredgehaunt Cliffs (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Defeat_the_dredge_commissar_) and the Ogre Wars/Foulbear Kraal in Fields of ruin (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ogre_Wars). Both these wiki pages have listed in detail the bugs that happen. Both these world boss events need to be working for players to have a chance to get the exotic Sam (from ogre wars) and Commissar’s Manifesto (dredge commissar).

What’s worse, is that I have only seen the same copy of these 2 maps the past 2 days, regardless of if I guess to another place or not. Ip 64.25.38.242 (for fields of ruin) and ip 64.25.33.80 (for dredgehaunt cliffs). So there clearly also needs to be more fresh map copies made so the events can reset.

If they just improved the rewards for completing events in Dry Top slightly farmers would just flock there since you get a decent amount of champ boxes out there. Everyone wins this way, farmers get to farm without friction with anyone else and people who enjoy doing events can go do them for hours on end, and everyone gets better rewards for it.

This is what I have an issue with understanding. Why is it that the farmers seem to be trying to hard to AVOID farming Dry Top. I have done Dry Top map a lot, and I always am getting a consistent, good amount of loot from it. Looking at you, dust mites

It only takes a moderate amount of organization to get a Dry Top map set up to get to Tier 5, or even with a bit more to Tier 6. I remember before the Blix event stuff happened everyone LOVED farming Dry Top. But then come Blix event stuff and half of the normal Dry Top people disappeared, and it seems to me like its a struggle to get them to come back. Need I remind folks that you also get a guaranteed champion bag from the buried locked chests?
Maybe all that Dry Top needs is a minor buff to its rewards, and an extra champ or 2 on scaled events.

Sbi , I believe will be in silver league. I don’t know how you guys currently are, but a month ago borlis pass was in better shape than it is today, and we lost to sbi. so you guys probably belong in t4, but would likely be the strongest in t4. Ioj belongs in t3, and I have no idea what santum belongs in but sounds like t6-7.

I’m aware that as it currently stands we SBI are going to be going into silver league. However this is just one example I was giving of the problems with how the ratings system is flawed.

Solution to "rallybots"

in WvW

Posted by: Fallout.1798

Fallout.1798

Another idea for balancing the rally problem could be to reduce the rally ratio 1 to 1, so only 1 enemy gets the rally when an enemy is killed or just remove the rally mechanic

This idea I support fully. It would bring a balance to problems of rallying. If an enemy dies from just being attacked, only 1 person gets the rally (how you determine this would be interesting though). However a stomp kill instead does the normal rally for up to 5 enemy downed players. This would create a much more interesting battle field, and it would not be the end of the world (turning the tide of the fight in a strong way) because a single less-skilled or upscaled player got killed (not stomp killed).

I just want a Mag-DB-SoS matchup to see what DB’s true ranking really is. SoR plummeting did nothing but ruin the ratings and cause instability that takes a good couple of months to work out.

This I agree with mostly. I am from SBI, and these last 3 weeks have been god awful. Stuck against DR and SoR 3 weeks in a row now. Because of SoS’s previous rating points compared to SBI’s, they are able to easily drop in rating, while for us in SBI it seems that scoring anything PPT wise higher than SoR’s automatically results in us GAINING rating points (we are in no way fit for gold league, thank you very much. ) Just look at the score in our match up and the one from last week. I’m sorry but with DB absolutely crushing us with a score of over 400k total points vs SBI less than half that score, we should be absolutely NOT gaining any ratings points.

As others have said, there are several servers which as of right now should not be at the ratings level they are at currently. The system needs to be adjusted to better reflect this. Hey you could even just go and chop 100 ratings points off of SoR and SBI for example and hey, problem is already half-way solved.

It was never proven that Evon shut down the Asuran Gate. How does he have access to its controls anyhow?

Sure I watched the scene where he walks through it and it closes down behind him, but who knows why or how it closed. People (haters) are just guessing that it was him.

I could make a guess to say Kiel did it to make him look bad… I have no proof either.

If he didn’t, then why does he go “Oh, that’s why you are worried? I got your back don’t worry” and then the second he goes through it shuts off? +Shud being surprised about it.

Shud mentions she shut off the gates, but that’s probably cause she doesn’t want to possibly start a riot by publically stating Evon shut off the gate in the face of a bunch of citizens in the middle of town… while standing in a refugee camp.

Just to help clarify, it is well documented about the incident with Evon and the asura gate during the Escape from Lion’s Arch release.

Treb damage to rams through gates?

in WvW

Posted by: Fallout.1798

Fallout.1798

Apparently there’s a rumor that Anet is going to remove treb damage to rams through gates. I think this is a horrible idea because as a lower tier server that is often outmanned, this is usually the ONLY way we can hold a tower against greater population servers. Removing this would take away a key part of defensive strategy and take a lot of the fun away from the game for defensive players like myself.

Please Anet, do not do this!

I’d be interested to hear other’s opinions on this…

Thanks!

I am here as a major wvw verteran since beta, taking this away in wvw will be a MAJOR mistake. As others have posted, when the zerg (or really any enemy force greater than 15) is outside your keep/tower gate. You have very few options. While cannons and oil can work, they are destroyed far to easily and the users also die from the massive aoe the zerg is throwing at the defenders. Arrow carts will not stop the zerg from building the rams and smashing the gate down, unless you have like 5 superior arrow carts inside the tower/keep, and the zerg hasn’t already destroyed the arrow carts.

This change will be another MAJOR blow to defending objectives, and will only further make it easier for zergs to karma train (if for some reason you don’t know what a wvw karma train is by now, its a large zerg of players going from 1 objective to another, and they are so big that they can not be stopped unless faced against another big zerg or skilled guild groups). If you are going to take away this method of defending, which is one of the few ways left to be able to somewhat effectively stop the Player vs Door (gate) zerging, then you had better fix some of the other problems. Again, see the many other posts that explain these problems.

Same lopsided matchup 3 weeks in a row...

in WvW

Posted by: Fallout.1798

Fallout.1798

Third week in a row of Dragonbrand vs SbI vs SoR, and it’s seriously not fun. Prior to reset DB was at 400k, SbI at 170k, and SoR was at (I believe) < 50k… the week before was only slightly closer. No other tiers were nearly as one sided, how did the same matchup happen 3 weeks in a row when DB wins by such a huge margin?

This is what frustrates me the most about the wvw rating system and point changes. If you look at the ratings and wvw server scores for the past 2 weeks in a row of Dragonbrand vs SBI vs SoR, you see something that should not be happening. Lets look at the matchup week that JUST happened. (please note I do not care in this post about which server is which or who’s better, I am talking about the raw data)
http://mos.millenium.org/na/matchups/history/155
Dragonbrand clearly smashes the competition with a final score of 405,799. Because of this, by all rights the 2nd place server Stormbluff Isle which had a score of 170393, should have thus LOST rating points because of getting completely out scored. However, because SoR was also in the matchup and got a very small score of only 65569 AND because SoR was (at the time) a mere 30 ranking points ahead of SBI, this changes everything. Now the final result is that SBI gains 31 rating points.

I’m sorry, but SBI should NOT be gaining/have gained rating points from a matchup score like this. This just shows what is wrong with the rating system and needs to be fixed.

Time to adress bannering of dead NPC's?

in WvW

Posted by: Fallout.1798

Fallout.1798

I like it when the lord is bannered and it makes the fight last longer and more epic.

Nothing wrong with bannering, you just need to try to make sure the warriors do not make it near the lord to banner him..

If they do take out bannering, I hope they balance it out by making the lords as tough as the lords in EoTM. Right now,t he lords are a joke and go down too quick (so who cares if they are bannered).

I’m fine for the most part with reviving the keep lord. What I an NOT ok with is how everyone calls it bannering and are forgetting that 6 other classes are able to revive downed allies/dead npc’s as well ( I say 6 others because Mesmer illusion of life does not work, and thief does not have one). I have seen an increasing number of players who are not warriors using their class revival skills. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Revival

So calling it bannering is somewhat misleading.

Not getting guild mission's merit credit

Posted by: Fallout.1798

Fallout.1798

My guild is over and over again not getting guild merit credit for completing the Quaggan Paddle guild rush in Frostgorge Sound if our guild was not the one to start it. If my guild was not the one to start the rush but participates (and the counter gets to 15/15 completed), there will be a pop up window asking to accept the mission reward (the guild merits credit). However we have never gotten the merit credit by this. We only get credit if WE are the ones who started the guild rush run. Have also just had the exact same thing happen for the Branded for Termination Guild Challenge. Another guild (lets just say guild A), started the challenge and my guild participated, but again we did not get merit reward credit. It is important to note that we ARE however getting our reward chests with the guild commendations. It is the guild merits we are not getting unless we are the ones to start the mission.

Asking around, other guild continue to have this exact same problem. It is getting extremely annoying having to run the exact same guild mission a 2nd (or 3rd) time in order to get the guild merits reward credit.

Gift of Battle rank requirement update

in WvW

Posted by: Fallout.1798

Fallout.1798

As someone who is a regular in both PvE dungeons speed runs and WvW (I dabble in PvP proper) I’d rather not force anyone to play content they don’t like. Having said that, there should be incentives to have new players try out the different game types Guild Wars 2 has to offer. Personally I think it’s difficult to balance that.

Legendaries are optional. So making someone get a certain level in WvW, PvP and/or PvE I believe to be acceptable. I don’t know about you guys but I found it harder to get all the WP/POIs than I ever did getting to lvl 30 in WvW.

See that’s how I feel overall about this. You already have to get world completion, including in WvW, to get your Gift of Exploration for your legendary weapon(s). Considering that this means you have to have gotten inside all of the keeps/towers/camps/Stonemist, you have already participated in battles in WvW. If you had never steped foot in WvW before going for your wvw map completion, the WvW experience you will have gained from joining the fights alone should have gotten you ALOT of WvW exp. (and lets not forget that you get free 15 minute WvW exp boosters in your first 5 levels/ranks) If you even only half-heartedly participated in the WvW battles and just waited until your team captured a place to get its poi/vista/skill point/ ect, you should still have gotten a fair amount of wvw ranks. It is extremely easy to get a mere 30 wvw ranks.

A legendary means you have done a lot of effort, sweat, bravery, and battle to make it. If you somehow managed to get all your wvw map completion and yet didn’t get even close to wvw rank 30, then that means you intentionally avoided all the battles and events (and also thus avoided a lot of loot. Loot which helps you in crafting said legendary weapon), and/or your server was dominating the match up and owned almost everything (unlikely).

This is not really a bug, but more a technical issue.
What happened is that they made some storylines before you should enter to spread out the workload, but for some reason they decided to plan 2 hours maintanance. Resulting in everyone standing ready to enter and spamming ‘F’ at the portal. When the map opened up this resulted in a denial of service. the way to solve this is for everyone to leave and log in one after another. Cause thats not going to happen I would advise to let the map alone for atleast 24 hours so things can calm down.

You know I was thinking the same thing. Because if the crowd in lions arch in standing at the new EOTM portal is any indication….yea its overloading the servers when thousands of players are spamming to get in at the same time.

I’d do it more if I could actually get that stupid lightfoot achievement…

It seems that over the past few days the failure rate for fighting warden 3 has increased. Every one of my runs has either failed completely or failed more than 1 lane on warden 3. I think people will agree that warden 3 is the overall hardest boss and wipes out the most platforms. People NEED to stay at a range of the boss, and stay away from the bombs. The bombs explode after around 5 seconds of them being placed.

in The Origins of Madness

One reason I think is part of the problem is the loading screen for going to the platforms. From my experience I have only rarely entered a platform without having a loading screen, usually when I am in lane 1 (bottom lane) or lane 5 (top lane) and I get put on the platform closest to me. Meaning that those platforms are close enough to the force-field/gates of those 2 lanes to not have to go to a loading screen.
Perhaps in the future the solution could be having the platforms slightly closer to the gates so people don’t have to go to a loading screen when they enter. In addition I think it would help a lot for players who enter a platform to have like 4 or 5 seconds of invulnerability.

I must say, it’s a bit absurd to spend a year delivering story in a PvE environment, and then say “if you want to see how it ends, get ready to be preyed upon by people who are literally salivating at the thought of inflicting suffering on others who just want to be left alone.” Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy WvW as a game mode, but this seems like an extremely ill-advised crossover. I’m excited to fight other players on the new map, but dreading the kittenstorm of ill-will and acrimony that happens when PvE players are bribed with rewards/achievements to enter a PvP environment without any real desire to be there.

Well I am sure there will be plenty of regular wvw people who would be ready and willing to help those PvE players. I myself as a WvW commander will be working to help introduce new players to wvw. I helped out new players getting into wvw when the WvW season 1 came out and will be doing it again.

Is there going to be PvE players who are going to refuse to join the WvW comunitee and learn stuff? Sure, there always is. But I have made a lot of new gw2 friends and got a lot of new players into WvW. Several have admitted to me that they were rather shy about getting into WvW at first until I and others helped show them the ropes.

Yes, looks like they probably encountered major bugs or problems. No worries, as long as we get it

I’d much rather wait another 2 weeks than have it rushed to be added and have bugs. Most likely bug would be players not getting all their different character’s WXP added up properly. So yea, better to wait for it to be bug free and working.

It would be really cool if they made EotM a kind of instanced area that is cross-server where people who join-in get paired in by their orders (Vigil v. Whispers v. Priory) so that there could be a kind of open-world, faction-type pvp people have wanted. Kind of excited now…

Awesome idea, but there is a problem with it. That would mean that players would have to be far enough in their personal story to have joined an order (level 26 mission). This would force all the players who have skipped the personal story, either by lack of caring or because its one of their alternate characters (meaning they have done personal story at least once on another character), to actually do the personal story. I can guarantee you that this pre-requirement would upset a massive amount of players, especially those who don’t do pve much.
Now on the other hand there could be a system of you chose which side to join with in the battle, but that would be getting into the same problem that regular Spvp already naturally has (choosing to join the team that’s wining/ change to the winning team).

@bwillb that actually sounds like a good idea. They have basically taken away any reason to be on one now that the one advantage of no que times is pretty much moot.

Queue’s are still going to matter, just not as critically as before. The nice thing is that you will now be able to actually see what position you are in map queue so you will know right away how far you are from being able to enter the queued map.

Every LS patch was only about pve, and even at WvW we oftem see LS stuff, so this time Anet changed a bit, why not the otherway?

I think it is good, pve players will have a chance to see how WvW/PvP players can get organized in large scale fight and how coordenation is important and it is fun.

@LoopySnoopy.7923 theres no problem to arrive the batlefield clueless, you will find alot of players hunting unexperienced wvw players but also you will have dedicated players on your side and for shure they will help you.

IMO this is a ice breaker between servers, since we have to team up, just hope this is not adapted to the main WvW map.

What I plan to do is help out those who are trying to get the achievements while still having fun in WvW fighting the enemies. As a long time PvE and WvW player and commander, I have experience with this. I and many other commanders will be working together to help everyone out with these. Get the PvE players to join up with us WvW players, and we can all achieve (pun intended) our common goals together. Going out doing a mix of the map events and objectives and doing the achievements (although I suspect the achievements will be tied in some way to the normal map objectives).
We will have to wait and see how exactly its going to work, but I suspect it will be nice and fun. I look forward to helping introduce new players to WvW, even when those people aren’t from my own server.

I will say that this is an impressive speed kill of lupicus. However there are several things that stood out to me in the video right away. Lupicus clearly attacked your party (with the hand swipe motion), long before you started your 7 second timer counter, not to mention that lupicus aggroed your party and that you started using your skills to get to 25 stacks of might long before then as well. You also turned off auto targeting so that your could be able to use your elementalist Dragon Tooth attacks on your fire fields AND to be able to use your Firey Greatsword #4 skill and have all the fire trail be under him. (you are also it looks like up against a low wall so you don’t move anywhere)

So yes while this is impressive, you took a lot longer than 7 seconds to kill Lupi, as you started building up might stacks before that and Lupi aggroed/attacked you as well. The 25 stacks of might is one of the core reasons of you doing so much damage, that is a factor into it.

And let’s not forget that Lupicus didn’t even do his phase change and going invulnerable.

I actually have to agree; there is lore sense for this. So as much as I would like to say ‘this is out of the blue and ridiculous,’ I think this is probably the first time Scarlet’s invasion has made obvious, logical sense. That said, what makes sense isn’t always what is best for a game. I retain my doubts that WvW ever belonged in lore as anything more than “oh yeah, that thing. it exists. and stuff”. Lore for PvP is an excuse, and ultimately gets more or less ignored. This is the case in pretty much every game short of EVE Online (which has other ramifications like the Goon squad invasion of Hi-Sec). I reserve final judgement for when the patch is released, but shoving PvE players into PvP was, is, and will remain a bad idea. And for now, the living story is PvE, as that’s 70%+ of the players.

I agree. Scarlet being in the mists here makes sense when you think about it. Where have all of these portals that she’s been using come from? We have not be able to find WHERE her main base of operations is at. The best hint we have gotten so far is, if you look at one of the portals that summons the twisted minions, you can vaguely see into that portal and see machinery of some kind on the other end of the portal.

We have had hints that she has been interested in the mists.

Seems like information about the coming update have started to turn up. And the main thing seems to be Edge of the Mists (which will be invaded by Aetherblades).

Much earlier than I though, but very nice nonetheless.

Except……………….. more kittening scarlet. Seriously WTF!

I find the responses here rather funny. Some people going all “OMG NOT MORE PVE IN WVW!” Others going “Yay free pve players to kill in wvw! Free loot bags!”

Ok so after testing out, I have been able to EASILY reproduce this bug. Using my warrior, I have simply used and thrown down a banner. Interact with it while moving and being just on the edge of the distance that you can still interact with/pick it up. So far the only ways I have found to fix this, as others have posted, is either completely leave the map/log out to character screen, or to take fall damage (but it has to be enough fall damage so that you go splat face down).

Edit: I have also found that getting dazed/stunned/knocked back fixes the skill lock up bug as well.

Discussion: Downed/dead state and zerging

in WvW

Posted by: Fallout.1798

Fallout.1798

In PvE the reviving mechanic is fine as it is. The problem is with how it works in WvW and Pvp, but most notably in WvW. I do think that if a player is fully dead, they should in some form NOT be able to be revived under certain circumstances. It is discouraging when you kill an enemy in the zerg, only to have 5 enemies stop for the few seconds it takes for them to revive them right away.

The two most obvious ways should be that a fully dead player should not be able to be revived by allies for x amount of time. Perhaps a 60 seconds to 90 second penalty? The other way I can see is that you can not revive a fully dead ally if you are in combat, but I can see problems with this as there could be 2 thieves who stay 20 feet behind the battle for the sole reason to stealth revive those dead allies.

For PvE the revive mechanic is totally fine, and necessary in many cases, such as dungeons to revive your party member who died to the boss attacks (such as the boss fractal fights). It is PvP and WvW that it is a problem and needs to be looked at, especially for WvW.

let people on platforms who have already completed help out with other platforms

We tried really hard to get this in. Every solution we came up with had technical constraints.

Why not take the invisible walls down between platforms so that the adjacent plats that are done can at least help out the ones in trouble? I know this is possible because on one of my early attempts at marionette my platform finished early and so I thought “hey, why not help the guys next to me out” so I started blasting the boss on the platform next to me. It WORKED. I was actually hitting and damaging their boss. I actually thought this was normal and was very surprised the next time I went in and couldn’t help the platform next to me. I suppose it was a bug, but obviously a good one.

There are a handful of skills that do work on the platform next to yours. Guardian staff auto attack and Elementalist Scepter #2 attack (in fire attunement) Dragon Tooth are two that I know of right now. You can also try to give aoe buffs to the people on the platform next to you.

This happens when you attempt to pick up a bundle item and it disappears while you’re picking it up. There may be other causes, but this is the one I’ve noticed. This is particularly common since most people have AoE loot on interact enabled and often end up picking up banners or conjure weapons by mistake because of it.

^ From my experience and observations of others this seems to be most commonly from players spamming their f interact key to AoE loot, but then missing/failing to pick up a bundle/item because it either disappeared OR more likely you moved out of range of the item because you were moving. A partial solution to help reduce the frequency of this happening to you, is I’d recommend you change your hot key settings and set the “AoE loot” hotkey (it is not set by default I believe). Set this to something other than your interaction key. This way you can still spam to aoe loot your loot (pun intended) and not risk picking up an item bundle you didn’t intend to pick up.

Why can't we master the Wardens?

in The Origins of Madness

Posted by: Fallout.1798

Fallout.1798

I posted this just now in another thread, but I will post it here as well since it applies also:

After doing marionette dozens of times, I have to say the 2 warden’s that I see most commonly failed are warden 2 and 3. Warden 2 is failed simply because there are people who just don’t understand that they have to lure the warden into his own mines to be able to damage him.
Warden 3 however is a whole different story. The vast majority of players I have seen who melee warden 3 end up dead/downed. (yes I am well aware there are players who are pro enough and tanky enough to melee this boss, but you are missing the point) If are you melee attacking the boss then that means you are not only in range of his melee attacks (which do massive damage), but also are thus siting right on top of the bombs. In short: range attack warden 3 unless you are very confident in your ability to dodge and tank his attacks.

The other problem I see often is players not reviving their downed (not dead) allies in the platform fights. Every class except thief has a skill that revives downed allies. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Revival All of these revival skills, with the exception of Illusion of Life (because of the way that one skill works), I strongly recommend you stress in map chat the importance of them and have everyone equip them. As they allow you to revive your downed allies quickly. (side note for elementalists: I’d recommend using the Glyph of Renewal while in Earth attunement, as this one revives up to 3 allies. For rangers the Search and Rescue seems to work on allies on the platform next to yours.)

In my opinion; lanes 1,3 and 5 have the easiest Wardens, so you should aim to have 25 people and 5 people at each pad for Warden II and IV.

It’s ALWAYS these two wardens I see getting passed down.

II – the targeted person doesn’t understand that he must kite the warden back on its own bombs to stun it
IV – shriek and darkness AoE gets people down and if you’re too few, you’re soon fighting with 2-3 downed teammates

I,III and V are tank’n’spank with variations (well, II and IV as well but they have elements that people seem to fail regularly to observe!)

One thing I would strongly recommend for everyone having this problem, which mainly seems to happen from spamming your f key to aoe loot, is to custom set your aoe loot key function. Go to the game options, control options tab (aka the hotkey settings). Aoe loot is listed at the very bottom of the hotkey list. Custom set this to be something other than your interaction key.
I would recommend looking at your hotkey settings anyway because a few of them are not set to anything by default. Changing these you may find to be a big help for you.

PSA: How To Target Wurms

in The Origins of Madness

Posted by: Fallout.1798

Fallout.1798

Just to point out, you can actually do party targeting even if you are NOT in a party. The usual red target marker will show up and work as if you were in a party. However it will NOT show up in your dialog box with the “——— has targeted —-—, press t for assistance.” Note however: you MIGHT have to have your camera at least somewhat facing the direction of the worm.
I strongly recommend everyone get familiar with using this targeting feature, as it is incredibly helpful so you can target the one you want right away. (Another example is that its great for the Tequatl fight, especially for the turret users so they can quickly retarget his head by just pressing t (by default) if they loose target for whatever reason.

Scarlet's Secret Lair *Major Spoilers*

in The Origins of Madness

Fallout.1798

What I find interesting is that we’ve all been brought up to speed with Scarlet’s efforts with the Alliances all the way back to Flame and Frost, but there’s yet to be a tie-in to the Karka storyline, which I think is related. It’s interesting that there may be a hint here that the tie-in is real.

Theories seem to point to Scarlet preparing to fight or unleash the Dragons. I seem to agree with this. She’s seen this world the way most of the rest of us never will, through the Pale Tree’s Dream, which was a turning point for her. Her alliances and devices have been big and grand, dragon-size, even. And her messing with the magic leylines seem to indicate interaction with the dragons on some scale. What if the Karka are minions of the unnamed Water dragon (AKA Bubbles)?

TL;DR I think the X on Scarlet’s map in LA is tied to Karka and the Karka are possibly tied to the Water Elder Dragon.

Personally I think the only thing that Scarlet could have been interested in at Southsun, is the toxins that Canach made to drive the local Karka and Reef Riders into a bind rage and attack the Consortium settlements. We’ve seen that Scarlet was interested in the Hallucination Toxins from the Tower of Nightmares. So it makes sense that she would have been interested in a different kind of toxin. Heck we might find out that she and the toxic alliance used Canach’s wildlife toxin in part to make, or inspiration to make, the Toxic alliance Hallucination Toxins. (used 1 toxin to make another)

Also, we know that the Karka are not minions of the Deep Sea Dragon. It was the Sea Dragon that the Karka were fleeing from, and eventually settled on Southsun Cove.
