Te bug has been fixed in recent patch.
All anecdotes from before today are invalid.
they say its been fixed anyway
It sounded to me like Jon Peters was saying its extremely difficult to fix that first switch bug, and then said it is important enough to keep looking into.
Optimism, HOOOOO
I don’t even use fast hands anyway =P
Times when there are more then 5 in dungeons:
- a dungeon NPC is with you
- you have a minion mancer
- you have a mesmer
- you have a spirit ranger
- anything that summons extra adds really.
i run 0/0/30/30/10, for crazy survivability, support, healing, and adrenaline from shouts.
I run disruption mainly with my weapons. I know its sub par against bosses, because that dastardly defiance. But it feels fun. However, against groups.
Bring on the earthshaker!
I fight like a norse god against enemies without defiance. Show me a vet on the side you need tanking? BOOM! chaining nine different stuns together one after the other!
I know Warrior can’t take a beating like a guardian, though shamefully thats because the mechanics are stacked against Warriors. we mitigate damage through disabling the enemy, which bosses are resistant against, while Guardians mitigate damage through healing and blocks and protection, none of which focus on the boss and so, are not effected by defiance.
If we want to be unique but as good as Guardians, we need to be able to remove defiance more reliably, or ignore it for a large point investment.
But if i could flat out ignore defiance? I would be fugging OP.

a full ultra control Warrior, ignoring defiance, with 13 possible stuns in his rotation. Keep a boss down for like, 20 seconds, at which point, some CD’s will already be up…
Guardians would become the meh tank, Warrior would rule.
@ Ivanov Im a control/heal shouts guy. My comment was that the damage buff from the banner was basically wasted on me, because my damage output is low, as a trade off for immense survivability and support. So in my case, buffing your own damage > buffing me.
My crit chance is actually higher, because of fury from FGJ and if im feeling cheeky, signet of rage, which gives me a healthy uptime of fury. But if im running banner for the rez or rampage for the mob control, my fury uptime is not as glamorous.
Being booted for being an engineer is bad, i got booted for not tanking the boss on my Warrior:(
Engineer does need tweaks, atleast in PvE. I tried loads of builds before i just started playing my warrior (control healing shouts, not signet burst before people go ape kitten). And all of them looked to be really good, then i had to ask ‘does this REALLY beat the high damage and 25 stacks of vuln and chill and poison field and bleeding of grenades?’ And it never did, so i always ended up going back to grenades, which bore me.
Grenades need to reach their target faster, and other weapons need to hit like grenades. Only then will i feel comfortable with my pistol spec or flamer. I know other weapons have different functions, but i just wanted a no kit DPS build, and grenades being the best at bleed AND DD is a bit overkill. And absolutely yummy if you spec carrion armor, reaping all those rewards!
i tl;dr’d, but i read now, and as long as you’re enjoying your spec, thats good.
I wasn’t really enjoying it till i got my low damage meat shield style
And i like holding onto dear life =P I spend my entire time grinning, thinking ‘ha ha, you’ll never cap this point for as long as i keep struggling!’ which is essentially my job, or if im in enemies base ‘ha ha, you can’t get bored and leave me because i’ll take your base otherwise!’
run into the enemy base and stand there fighting them. Doesnt matter how few you kill, its all about lasting!
I play SPvP with my guildies and its always fun to hear them complain when they are against me because they lose control of their character so much.
And the 6K heal is useful, its like being able to use your heal skill twice, and no-one would turn that ability down. Yeah its only small, but with soldier runes, it also comes with might, fury, condition removal, enemy vuln, and if you want to be fancy, AoE fear.
Yes 5 signets is a bad build. 4 signet FGJ is where it is at!
That is the best damage spec you can use as a warrior, in terms of output damage.
Also, if you dropped that banner for me, my crit chance would go from 4% to what, 14% max? And my measly 1K crits would go to 1.1K crits.
Im really not that kittened by that banner, which while it is an improvement in stats for the user compered to signets, it doesnt have the same uptime and hampers mobility, while also wanting 10 points specced out of the glass cannon spec and into tactics. So for that we might lose 100 might, or 100 precision, to gain extra viability for a banner that gives +90 precision. Losing those points might make our rifle a lot worse if they come from arms.
I seem to be the only one who likes Rampage (cos im a PvE control tank support noob) so i just hope any changes keep the mass of stunning.
It doesnt need to do massive damage, or shout to support allies, its the control elite out of a soft trinity of control/damage/support. But it does need changes because the tanky buff is lost if triggered on low health or simply burst too hard due to no heal.
Maybe full defense warriors could have their burst skills removed, and instead their adrenaline gives them Rampage like a death shroud rip off 0_0
I would pay good money to do that, balancing my mega control ultra rage bar in combat to burst it off whenever the situation calls for it.
Probably going to be disagreed with, one big weakness is that it just rips off another class mechanic, and we’re not engineers. We don’t steal other people’s skills.
0/0/30/30/10 healing shout hammer/mace+mace
Soldier amulet and runes, i hate Healing power because its 1/3 of your stats for 1.5K healing every 20 seconds, so like 5K HP it is instead!
I can last for ages against enemies, and i control like a mutha, in SPvP i run as a martyr, or group control. Group control is self explanitory, i jump at people constantly and annoy them because of my massive stun chains while others kill, martyr i run to the enemies single point, and survive for stupid amounts of time to keep them off my other points, in SPvP they all seem to be attracted to killing one one solo warrior, and forsake their own bases chasing me. Probably a different story in TPvP =P
Probably not the best, but i don’t get controlled a lot, and i have a lot of fun fighting with it. Compared to GS glass cannon where i was simply shut down when i encountered by guardian guildies.
Now my guildies fear going against me! I am a force of annoyance, a fight with me lasts ages ankittenep stunning you! I can last so long its probably going to end up with one of us getting back up! My Mesmer friend called me annoying! My Guardian friend told me to just kittening die! I felt smug
Also, i occasionally use the rampage elite, kicking kittens around the room like nobodies business. I usually use banner for the rez though. But fights like AC lovers, its all about the rampage. All my stun moves + rampage together, i have like 10 stuns, 13 if i was not healing shout and went for physical moves instead.
Feels so dynamic, swinging my earthshaker into a water field for a quick AoE heal, shield charging through fire to contribute more DPS, constant weapon switching to get my stuns up as often as possible, smashing the target down for 2 seconds on stun, which is like 2 seconds of invincibility for the entire team basically.
4 signet FGJ is best for damage, not 5 sig.
Also, i run ultra tank spec, with healing shouts. Burst healing 5K, 30K HP. I can sit in AoE’s tanking damage while rezzing my weaker bro’s, i can rip defiance off the enemies and interrupt their big attacks, i get to watch giant enemies fall to the floor like pathetic sludge under the weight on my awesome hammer, i can do mob control like no one else, and i can handle a boss hitting me for longer then anyone else, meaning that if they are focusing me, i can keep damage off allies, while healing myself, allies and giving AoE condition cleanse.
Warrior are mint at burst damage, but thats not all they can do.
Guardians may be better sustained tanks, but Warriors are better controllers and ‘burst’ tanks, they can take more punishment in a short amount of time, and they have immense ‘burst’ healing and support.
Essentially, Warriors are amazing at doing things in short bursts.

5 shout warriors
22.5K healing every 20 seconds
30K if geared to heal
maybe all using longbow/hammer for lol AoE might
/thread
I would stab a baby to control more often. The cries of my guildies when they have to fight me(im not amazing, im just annoying to fight =P) would immensely increase if i had an elite which let me spam, hell, pommel bash all night =P
Some thief insta-gib burst is pretty awful to feel the wrath of.
But i dare you to go into a tournament as a warrior, and actually land a HB completely.
It will not kittening happen.
That MASSIVE damage your talking about will top off at 4K once the enemy stun breaks and leaves, or a massive 0 damage if they just dodge the attack. And then that combo, that requires a 60 seconds recharge, is unusable.
HB is laughed at by the majority of the Warrior community because its like pistol whip but without the immob or the ability to chain it with itself.
If you actually get hit by an entire HB, you have problems.
For other areas to be buffed in response to nerfed burst, i would say buffs to your defense mechanic, increasing your stealth ability. Would be cool if you didn’t destroy people in 2 seconds, but had a prolonged fight where the enemy has to spend most of it wondering where you are.
Im wearing T1 cultural, i didnt appreciate it till i put it on. Sure, i murder myself when my Charr idle animation plays, but think about it.
Some centaur charges me, i can brace myself and impale him on my shoulder. Its a shoulder mounted spear wall.
I do actually like quite a lot of the armor on Charr, tail clipping doesnt really bother me that much. I played Tauren for 5 years, maybe im used to tails inexplicably poking through clothes.
I don’t know, im not a doctor
I like my Charr armor, Clipping doesn’t bother me.
When a norn’s starter shoulders clip through his actual shoulders, that annoys me.
And i actually like playing as humans, but i usually go for the race with the most prefered culture.
Playing a human is more about relation. I like to play physical classes in MMO’s, like warrior and engineer, because if i really trained and practiced, i could be a Warrior.
As a human warrior, and an RPer, i am able to immerse myself in this amazing world as an avatar of myself, if i see a Norn im like ‘kitten me he’s huge!’ but Asura are like ‘Woah he’s tiny!‘. When i see DR, though its big, its like ’human houses, human life’ when i see Rata Sum its like ‘Woah, this is really foreign!’
I take my fantasy to be in the adventure. Starting somewhere normal, and advancing outwards, experiencing something amazing. Others like to be something new and unique, while some like to be the same, but in new and unique situations.
Yet i play Charr because i feel like their unity, technical prowess and discipline are key features i can identify and respect. They are immense in combat, but they have the brains to back it up. They are smart, but they don’t techno babble you, they say it how it is.
My guild is kinda weird, i play a male warrior, my fiance plays a female Warrior (but she made her own warband and has like 9 Charr, 5 female 4 male)
And then another couple, the girl plays as a male Charr, the man plays as a female Charr.
So, all directions are experienced here!
I don’t mind the clipping
confession bear
I would not mind trading rampage for 1 stun every swing =P
Though i would lose my hilarious stomp, and since i went shout healz, i miss my stomp animation. And my kick for that matter.
I think no matter what, this elite needs to be defense/control themed. So it needs to have something like health boost(like now) and some form of CC. I would love for it to make all CC remove 2 stacks of defiance, but that is PvE only, and would earn the skill a massive CD and annoy all PvPers.
Im addicted to smacking giants in the toe with my hammer and watching them crash down.
Bit of an unneeded post. I play a shout healing warrior, and there was a discussion on Warrior forums about Guardian > Warrior in tanky ness in all areas. To which i disagreed with, saying Warriors are best short term, with burst damage and burst healing and ability to control enemies very often with blunt weapons (defiance reduces this) but guardians are more long term with their steady income of healing which counters their low health. Im not sure what the HPS is for guardians, but if you had 300 HP/S, and fought for 10 seconds, thats 3000 effective health.
That said, i am a healer basicly, a bad kitten boss stomping healer, but a healer no less. And my guild leader is a guardian, and it feels so satisfying to see my 4.5K heal fill up so much of his bar. Even if the overall gain is exactly the same as a Warrior getting a 1.5K heal, the percentage of life gained feels like a nice safety net though.
I think the classes, if you can manage to trade aggro effectively, really compliment eachother in terms of survivability in PvE. Warrior can rip through defiance stacks and stun the enemy for 2 seconds at a time, while providing burst healing when needed, and able to take the huge hits when Guardian is getting hurt, and Guardian can provide steady healing to harmonize with the burst healing, can take the boss primarily while the Warrior recovers his 30K HP, defend allies from projectiles and grant protection boons.
I usually look at them as attack and defense. Warrior knocks down enemy for 2 seconds which is like, a burst period of 0 damage taken by that enemy, while Guardian defends his allies. One stops the attack from happening, the other stops the attack from landing.
In SPVP, i have actually drawn comments from my guildies (2 were guardians) who could not believe how long i could last against multiple enemies as a full on tank warrior(i couldnt hit hard, but i relished my role as support meat shield) and both me and my guardian friend dueled for basicly an entire match, and it was pretty equal, trading stuns for blocks, knock backs for teleports. The match started around 50 points, and ended while we were whittled down to about 45% health each.
tl;dr Warrior and Guardian compliment eachother when it comes to survivability, rather then say Guardian > Warrior, more focus should be placed on their roles and how they cover eachothers weaknesses. Warrior brings an amazing performance for a short amount of time (defiance stacks stopping stuns, high health but no stable healing), while Guardian delivers a great performance consistantly(blocking attacks, protection boon, regen). And by combining Warrior’s burst defense with Guardians consistant defense, you basicly have your OT and MT positions if we are in a holy trinity world.
However, you show me a target without defiance, and i’ll show you a target that can’t use a single move. =P
(edited by Graywolf.6513)
Warrior rezzing is pretty good, its fast and tanky against all direct damage.
If a guardian and a tactic warrior rezzes same target, ain’t no body gonna mess wit dat.
Furthermore, meh. Thats all i can really bring to the main topic.
Almost all skills have a cast time so that enemies can read what your next attack is and interrupt it if they need to avoid it.
Instant cast skills are more like your panic buttons. With mace i take ages to hit with tremor, but pommel bash is like the blink of an eye. Because Tremor is a powerful, line based 1200 range knockdown, and pommel bash is the skill you quickly use to interrupt Tremor when you see it coming.
I believe it is because of damage adding to a total, like hundred blades. Each hit makes the number bigger, showing you the total damage for the combo. But because this effects a different target on each hit, the damage is being added and applied to the next enemy.

I had a duel with a guardian, and while not conclusive proof, with 0 interruptions neither of us killed eachother before the PvP match ended. We fought for ages and it was really fun trading stuns and blocking attacks.
If anything i think more PvP should last that long =P
Why not both?
Seriously, i use both, and since earthshaker will be on 10 second CD, and other CC moves have longer CD’s, switch to mace/mace, tremor, hilt bash, block an attack, skull crack, switch to hammer, repeat
I like it still. Its like, signet for damage, rampage for control, banner for support.
I know it is lackluster but as a control/support i occasionally leave it on my action bar after messing around with it, and it can be really fun for holding down an enemy while others beat them to death.
I think they should increase the defensive capabilities of the stance, we already have signet for offensive, and banner for support.
I get annoyed at the greatsword hate, and im a hammer lover.
Someone has to do damage =P
Im playing healing shout mace-mace/hammer ultra tank build. And while i can’t carry a team in SPvP, i have a lot of fun fighting, i have lasted against the majority of the enemy team standing on a single node, to the point where guild members on enemy team asked me how the hell i am still standing.
I think i would be very sad if meat shield was removed =P
In group play, i heal the allies, i remove loads of conditions, i unleash a plethora of stuns (managed to make my mesmer guildy exhaust all of his stun breaks and still keep him held down) and usually hold my own against 2-3 people until backup arrives, at which time my superior control and support usually allows me and the help to turn the tide.
My spec seems great for martyr style, though i am in SPvP so maybe in TPvP people will learn not to stack up and attack me, but when i do, i can hold off 2/3 of the enemy team while the rest cap the understaffed nodes.
Had a fight with one of my guardian friends on top of the clock tower, he’s pretty knowledgable about class mechanics and seems to be the strongest fighter in our group. We started off fighting while each team was on about 50 points, and were still fighting by the time the game had finished. On that note, i would say that i can take damage like a guardian.
You may say that meat shielding has no place in GW2, but that is the warrior form of bunkering. Honestly yeah, a damage buff would be grand for my bunker spec, but i can keep myself alive for ludicrous amounts of time, loads of control to stop stomps and the ability to top myself up with healing and condition removal while reviving.
Dunno whether or not its viable, but im having fun. So it feels viable right now.
Rampage is cool for controlling enemies. Im not a PvPer, and i play a dungeon tank, but this skill is really fun and useful when you want to smash around a boss or decimate enemies who do not have defiance.
Its like Guardian tome of courage, but offensively. Guardian heals allies, Warrior smashes enemies away. That said, it could use a buff, maybe go for broke and make the control remove 2 stacks of defiance!
I hate defiance, ruining my awesome feelz.

Warrior can take the most burst, Guardian can take the heat for longer.
Warrior can provide the most consistant burst healing, guardian the best passive healing (and their elite tome is ultra god burst, but thats why i said consistant for warrior =P)
Warrior can provide best control if you put your utilities into it too, Guardian has best party defense. Guardian wins here because of defiance. Would love for some group, or at least personal protection on Warrior.
While it is negligible, i roll mace/hammer shout healing, and i take pride in my stuns, i rotate between weapons quite fast and can land very nice 2 second stuns on enemies (coupled with a satisfying image of massive boss falling over). These two seconds may be slight, but they help ease the burden, 2 more seconds to get your heals back, stop that incomming AoE, move that boss to a more desirable location.
Guardian DOES win in the end because guardian group defense revolves around blocking attacks for allies and protection and regen, while Warrior group defense revolves around disabling the enemy, which is 5x harder against bosses with defiance.
However, i still take pride in my ability. I don’t spec into healing, but 4.5K healing every ~20 seconds is useful, and i have pulled allies from the brink of death(even other guardians) by shouting burns off their bodies and screaming at their wounds to close up. Guardian sustained healing is great but that 4.5K heal is really useful when your in a pinch.
The way i see it, the Warrior is like, a short lasting, really strong effort. Completely stun the enemy for a short time, heal an ally for 5K every now and then(for low CD heals, basicly giving them double the personal healing) and due to having no massive damage negation but massive natural health, they can take the heaviest hits out of all the classes, but will need a bit more time to recover afterwards.
Guardian on the other hand does less, but can do it more often, with constant little heals, lots of group, -33% damage buffs. Obviously guardian has some hard stuff too, Warriors have banners and vigor and if geared right aegis on a 48 second CD, but Guardians are best at the little but constant things.
Also, as a Warrior tank, rampage is a pretty good elite. I know it gets rode to hell and back for its mediocraty, but 4/5 of its skills are control, using this elite im able to smash defiance stacks down, charge across gaps and throw boulders and stamp all enemies away, and my health is doubled for the duration. It fits the Warrior style of tank perfectly, massive health, massive toughness, stop enemy hurting your allies by removing their ability to attack.
Only way for Warrior to keep their style and perform on par would be addition of protection to their shout(maybe on shake it off so FGJ doesnt become the uber shout) or if they could strip defiance faster.
I think the bug has to do with damage addition. You knwo like how each hit of HB adds up the damage for each hit showing you the finale of BH being 13K or what ever? I assumed Bladetrail did that, each hit was additive to its total damage number shown.
However, because we’re piercing targets, and hitting new ones, this upgraded damage is carried over to the next target, and its like being hit by 2 blade trails. Hit all a necro’s minions before him and it might be like he was just hit by 6 blade trails at once.
A theory, but i saw some insane numbers when loling around with damage golems recently, i assumed it was like HB, never knew i was ACTUALLY hitting the golems for 30K.
Pistol off hand. Rytlock uses one. We should too.
Or a torch so i can go all Aragorn without having a pet sniffing my kitten at all times.
Great axe and spear also cool, maybe hand to hand, with throws and heavy strikes. And hadouken/shoryuken for a laugh.
Been suggested before, but i would prefer a sigil in the weapon that gives protection on chance when hitting an enemy or being hit, that would be cool and a universal tank buff.
You can survive with a Greatsword, i have done it numerous times. I usually get angry playing as one because i miss my CC and bullkitten defense, but im not a pathetic wet noodle as a GS 4 sig FGJ warrior. Provides group wide might, fury, puts vuln on enemies, ranged cripple, whirlwind evades attacks, etc.
You can’t go all out nothing but GS like how you can get pretty shafted being nothing but melee, but using your GS for massive burst hits and then backing off when it gets a bit more dangerous does not mean ‘olol GS crap olol’, its how you play as a melee fighter.
GS is not the worst weapon in existence, dual sword condition warriors, dual axe warriors, they both suffer from the damage of close combat and their weapons do not encourage defense speccing. Hammer and mace would be in the same area but their traits are in defense, same with shield off hands.
When i do use my GS spec i have 15 points in defense for health regen, that is a GS signet spec, high damage, high crit, a little less damage for damage reduction. This falls under the umbrella of signet spec yet seems universally vilified by the population.
Can’t imagine what a group of 5 shout warriors could do in some dungeon encounters, ones which require high damage output while you defend objectives..
Level 10 personal story = 1 key
lather, rinse and repeat
got 3 keys just from blowing through my alts in a day so far.
Per se, some Charr are beginning primitive work with lightning(electricity) and so the light bulb may come from Charr before Asura. Asura would just whip up some magical stone that glows and stick it on a suitable container.
Don’t know why someone refered to this as anime style. Always annoys me that analogy, go pick up some old comic books or other kinds of adult fantasy artists. Its not some kind of massive trend that sprawled out of Japan and Japan only, many males have always sexualized women.
Furthermore, i get annoyed at that kind of armor, i am a practical armor kind of person, i also hate things stupidly ornate with floaty bits and dragons hanging from yours wrists. HOWEVER as long as there are the few styles that fit my down to earth, simplistic, practical and a little above average, everyone else can wear what they want.
I prefer greatsword, the charges, evasive movements, boomerang throws, and the ‘OHNOUDIDNT’ hundred blades allowing me to decimate groups of foes with the right positioning. Allows you to avoid damage with movement and quickly get back into the fight with rush, furthermore the primary GS traits are in Arms, same as the rifle, so if you go 30 in you can get deep signets(if you want), forceful greatsword and crack shot.
I loved axes initially, fast adrenaline and heavy burst, but no burst + 3 different passives from high adrenaline (12% damage, 9% crit, health regen if you are a chump like me and spec 15 into defense) just beat it IMO. Greatsword is more fun in my opinion, so maybe a bit biased, but thats my take.
Depends more on what you start with, if you grow up believing you can take hits, signet spec will be a shock when you realize you have to avoid them, if you are used to massive damage, other specs will be a shock when you realize you just divided your damage by 4.
Go be whatever you want and make it work, i get angry as a signet warrior in dungeons because i have been the tank for so long, i keep trying to resist the damage while reviving people, or flat out using myself as a meat shield for others when im just as squishy as them in my new spec. But that doesn’t mean damage is bad, my playstyle just does not accommodate a lack of tankyness, due to all the amateur heroics i pull myself through.
Signet Greatsword is not trash in dungeons, they are just not support focused. Sometimes you need someone who can rip stuff apart, sometimes full defense will get you killed.
Signet greatsword is probably the best damage build Warrior has, its popular for a reason.
I personally run hammer/mace control and occasionally shout healing when im feeling productive yet lazy, so no calling me a GS fanboi either =P
I just moved to signet greatsword build after being full defense control at level 56, now im 68, in a day.
This build is immense, most will tell you to go support, but i say go for what you find most fun. I like control but im having a hard time questing without the power greatsword gives, and since my gear was full tank, and i went 15 into defense for health regen, i was really durable, and could do 4x the damage of my hammer build on a single hit.
Don’t force yourself to change if you don’t want to, someone has to be decent at dealing damage. Wouldnt want to do AC explorable path 3 without someone who could hit hard =P
Grenade damage can be nerfed when we can easily hit moving targets, whether through auto aim, or lower arch and faster flight time. I wanna see 1 second max before i hit 1500 range, not 3 seconds.
Would be minted if next expansion they gave us alternate weapon skills, so can choose between rifle shotgun or rifle sniper, pistol gadgets or pistol bullets.
Every class would have them, not for hot swapping in combat but changing before it. No reskins needed, no animations needed for most, just new skill set we can choose in the hero panel. Its unlikely though, because it would basicly be like redesigning every weapon.
Unrelated, but PvP seems to be better overall, they had underwater grenade barrage before PvE, and currently, the heal skill ‘med kit’ changes to ‘unequip bundle’ when used in PvP, but in PvE you have to use weapons swap to drop it.
For conditions i heard that if multiple people do a burn, you actually get 1 tick of burn per person who burned per second. So 5 burners still do the damage of 5 burns per second, but you can only see your number coming off. Like applying a bleed on something at 25 stacks might make your bleeds tick at the 25 stack rate. I havent tested this, but sounds like conditions are still good for multiple people to use if so.
On topic, i would say you can level fine with turrets. I would make sure you have an alternate damage source like grenades for when turrets won’t do the job like an event which has multiple spread out objectives that your 45 second rocket turret CD won’t be able to tackle. Usefullness in dungeons though is pretty low for boss fights, though if you combine with accelerant packed turrets, you can use them to initiate multiple knock backs on incoming trash, a cool idea i never tried personally.
Grenades are mint cos they scale well for both damage and conditions, and they become amazing if you go glass cannon and spec for both power and condition. The price you pay to have 1500 range and immense damage is becoming squish tastic.
Grenades are fine, though they bore me a bit, its like having the finger of God. ‘You there! 1500… things away from me! You are going to die before you can reach me!’ then you just point, hold your cursor over them(or a little infront of them) and spam.
clearly a lot harder in PvP, but i rage quit grenades in pvp after trying to catch a zipping greatsword warrior, slashing to and fro, where he stops, no-one knows.
My only problem for pistols in zerg play is piercing explosions is either not tagging, or no-one is dropping loot.
And i am recognising that turrets are acceptable elsewhere. when i say they are not viable for boss fights, does that mean i am saying they are not viable anywhere else in the game? I stated from the beginning (well, you can get it from my first point) that my reason for turrets not being viable is the fact they don’t last long at all in dungeons, and that is where the majority of my game time is.
Your problem with my post completely ignored the following statement ’ HOWEVER i am a dungeon man myself and turrets die in boss AoE’s and are useless in events where you have to destroy objectives while kiting stuff’
Hence why i thoroughly believe, anyone who builds into turrets for a dungeon spec, is either experimenting, or got a worm chewing their grey matter. Furthermore, their lack of ability to conquer multiple objectives due to inability to move them and inability to focus fire, makes them unreliable to spec into. I ran into an event where i had to down 3 anti air placements, it was not a group event, and i could have solo’d it, but i couldn’t because i had too many CD’s to wait for and the primary source of my damage was turrets. Therefore, they also are not a good choice for PvE dynamic events as they remove the ability to be dynamic. Now you can raise your hands and say ‘oh that’s a choice you make!’ but the matter of the fact is i failed that event because i couldn’t move fast enough while being at full effectiveness.
So, 2 primary game modes where Turrets will let you down. Dynamic Events and dungeons. They might work wonders in PvP, but turrets are a niche spec and if the battle does not accommodate your niche your basically just an engineer with no utilities. Think about the last encounter for TA story for example, not only will they go down in a single hit from the 4 enemies you have to fight, they also will not focus fire on the enemy your group is trying to burn down, and they will not focus fire on the add that must be killed between each successful enemy down.
There, turrets are foolish to spec into unless you are planning to respec for one event and then respec for the next event which requires you to actually move. They are unreliable in the majority of dungeon boss fights and unreliable in open world combat unless you know completely what events you plan to encounter and you know that none of them require you to do anything but auto attack and AFK, which is basicly all your turrets can do.
