@OP – it doesn’t seem like you’re a completionist, so there’s something that might cheer you up. If you were a completionist like me, you’d be obsessed with finishing all adventures on gold even though I have enough points. At least all you need is enough points to finish your masteries. xD

This game cured me of being a completionist. lol

Same here! Kind of nice actually.

On topic. Also not a fan of the adventures and points being locked behind them. If I wanted to play Mario Party I would.

I haven’t explored half of the new content yet and I’m seriously thinking about just uninstalling.

-New maps are a nightmare for solo players. Veterans mobs everywhere, champions for skill points, not to mention how poorly designed they are, half of the time I was running in circle trying to get to a point that was either above or below me. I had to google a guide to find skillpoints…

-You’re forced into an extremmely grindy mastery system right in the middle of the story. Great design.
I can’t comment on the story, I keep getting stoped by the mastery system.
This morning I had to stop my story progression just so I can jump on 2 mushrooms at the start of the mission.
IS THAT REALLY NECESSARY ?
I get it, you created a new system, let me enjoy the story, put a ramp there instead of 2 mushrooms, i’ll grind your kitten later.

-Ascended craft is still limited by daily cooldowns. It’s been out for so long and it hasn’t changed.
I’d like to reroll and enjoy some WvW in between the event grind but I don’t want to pvp with weaker items for weeks. I thought we were supposed to all be equal in PVP.

At least sPVP feels better now, they seem to have removed most of siege damage and water maps. Good job !

I’m just gonna stop with the new content for now and stick to sPVP as it’s the only thing that seems enjoyable =/

I’d like to know if anything later on is worth the struggle that you have to go through in this new expansion.

Thanks for reading

I do not enjoy adventures at all. I am only doing them for the mastery points. I am not good at them. I just want to get silver or gold on this for the mastery point.

Attempt after attempt I am slowly getting better then the event is disabled. An event is now priority and I can no longer run the adventure. It is discouraging and frustrating. It feels like the past minutes/hours I just spent feels invalidated. I focused so hard on doing something I do not enjoy for this mastery point and then the game prevents me from accomplishing something. It really does feel like I wasted my time.

For those that are wondering, both stripe colors can be chosen, the colors of the framework can not.

Dying it Celestial/Celestial shows only VERY faint stripes still, nearly no baked-in color on the wing stripes. So, it appears it will take colors pretty well. As long as the light brown of the woodwork frame isn’t a problem for you, that is.

THANK YOU!!!!

Patch notes:
Magister Ela Makkay of the Durmand Priory has been busy chronicling Scarlet’s War (known outside of Tyria as Living World Season 1). She’d like to share her research with you when you’re ready. Simply activate “Season 1 History Lesson,” located under Scarlet’s War in your Story Journal, to learn more. (Note: You must use a level 80 character to access this recap.)

I know it’s not replayable (yet) but at least there is now something in-game that we can use to get a recap of season 1. I know this is something that many people have been wanting for a long time. Can’t wait to check it out!!

Thanks again!

You’re welcome. Let us know what you think.

Guild Housing: Remembering Fallen Members

Greetings ArenaNet & Community,

I have a suggestion if it’s not already in the works. I would recommend that there be a way to place statues within a guild hall. Choose from each of the races and perhaps even classes.

As many of you know Gaiscioch suffered the loss of Roger “Oldroar” Rall before the game was even released. ArenaNet was kind enough to name Sanctum of Rall in his honor and place an NPC in game that shares his legend.

What many of you probably are unaware of is that we also have suffered the loss of two more very influential people in our community. Jexia.2406 passed away two weeks ago after fighting throat cancer for the past 2 years and last night we lost Frugster.3265. It would be wonderful if we can place statues within our halls to remember each of these members.

It would go the extra mile if we were able to have a plaque that we could customize to go with each statue. Allow people to enter it in a text field so that they could place messages on certain clickable placeable items.

Gaiscioch plans to build a memorial for these three members once HoT goes live. It would be wonderful if we were able to place statues for each of these members.

Hi,

These are the Guild Wars 2 official forums. We want discussions to be related to our game and have no interest in hosting an off-topic forum. I administered a busy OTF years ago and it was incredibly time-consuming and volatile for me and my team.

We encourage game-related discussions, and sure, those can head into areas that are more real-world than in-game. But a forum strictly dedicated to non-game topics simply isn’t in the cards.

I bought it the moment it was up for sale. $100 worth of it.

Thanks Anet for having provided me with gaming fun for a decade.

I have been and will continue to be one of the ‘whale’ type players when it comes to this game I love. If you don’t like the pricing structure that’s your call, but please don’t tell me how to spend my money. How I spend my money is my business. I like what Anet has done, think they have provided me a great game, and look forward to continuing that relationship.

This hobby is cheaper than every other hobby I have or have had. I have fun in game. That is the value to me.

Have you renewed a hunting license lately, bought a box of ammo or a new rifle, priced a new motorcycle, payed for good seats at a pro sporting event, taken a date out for drinks and dinner. Quibbling over this low price is crazy stupid IMHO.

Anet please put more goodies up in the gem store so I can continue to support this game.

Rename Gw2Setup.exe to Gw2.exe and place it where you’d like to install the game, for example: C:\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe, then run it.

People are getting way too hung up on this whole name business… Isn’t what it does a lot more important than what it’s called? To be honest, they could’ve called it the Whippersnapper and I still would’ve liked it, simply because they value (for me, at least) lies in the mechanics ten million times more than the name. Didn’t see people complain as much it became known that Ranger’s would be Druid, which I think sounds way more generic and boring than Dragon Hunter. xD

For you people that got into the beta, remember that there is more to it than just getting to play Revenant, Like try to break the game, go outside the norms, find the little bugs and issues, test if you can get to places, pay attention to things going on.

The more bugs Beta Testers find and report, the more of a bug free release of HoT we are getting.

GW Lore: Out the Door? (Balthazar)

In a world where charr wear Balthazar Regalia, anything can happen.

Then again, perhaps these publicly atypical charr are members of a rising counterculture movement, rejecting the strict and stodgy social norms of established charr society and embracing the less restrictive values and belief systems of the other Tyrian races; human values, in particular. The shock value of venerating the human gods and sporting the associated paraphernalia is, of course, no small part of the appeal, but it goes much deeper. Charr society has settled into predictable — and boring — patterns in the past 250 years, and young charr, being more and more exposed to outside cultures, are less and less inclined to play by the rules.

“Never trust anyone in a warband!”

I suspect, were motorcycles available, we’d see many young charr cruising the cattle paths of Ascalon, looking for adventure, and, of course, whatever might come their way. Meanwhile, in the population centers, especially those of other cultures, young charr may spark a ‘bloom’, if you will, in the florist trade. Divinity’s Reach, particularly the streets and alleys near the Queen’s Pavilion, seems most likely to become something of a haven to these young charr, joining together en masse to express their individuality.

‘By the time we got to Kryta
We were half a million strong.’

Meanwhile, back in the Black Citadel, charr leaders can only scratch behind their ears in puzzlement and wonder what these crazy kids will do next.

The table is a fable.

Charr mature at the same rate as humans. Humans live ~80-100 on average, so charr is likely the same but less common due to militaristic lifestyle.
