I always hope someone WILL pick up my spare fiery GS, then we can take down an enemy in a fraction of the time. People are always amazed by how much damage they do and they have loads of fun with them.

As an Asuran, I think it’s totally fun to hide under Charr or Norn characters.

It’s best if they’re a medium armour class with a nice big coat to hide in

I’m not an rp-er, but I like having them around, they’re great fun to interact with and add depth to the gameworld, I find. I don’t want to be separated from rp-ers just because I don’t have loads of them in my friends list, guild etc. I suspect that’s unlikely in my case because I’m on TC, but for many people on other servers I think the prospect of Tyria devoid of any rp-ing whatsoever might be a bit sad.

Well, you may just have hit the nail on the head there Because that’s really a bit like calling someone ‘Big Nose’ or like the mean girls at school doing sarky impressions of someone.

By all means, disagree with what somebody says, but once you get into what you think they ‘always’ do, or how you think they behave in general, then it’s getting personal, and is no longer a debate.

In every single article, trailer etc about The Gates of Maguuma you say that you are offering us ‘a sneak peak’. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Wow. This is just terrible. Asura axe 1 had the best animation in the game – that flying roundhouse was just awesome. And although axe 1 was pretty rubbish dps-wise, it was worth equipping axe because axe 2 can really take chunks out of mobs. In fact in the power build I use for my necro, axe is hard to beat, even thought the autoattack sucked. Since I actually utilise my skills, rather than just mashing 111111111, I could make pretty good use of it.

But to take away that AWESOME animation…wow. Badly done there Anet.

Well, this sounds like the ‘It looks awesome, but I really feel the need to complain about it anyway’ thread that was bound to follow us getting the thing that we were all asking for.

I bet anet staff sometimes wonder exactly what it is they come into work for.

My guild is just me and my brother, and another dude who rarely reps lol… we think we’re likely to end up with just a Guild Shed. Or even maybe just a shopping cart with our stuff in it and newspaper in our shoes

Well, I love the game. The only content I’ve ever not entirely enjoyed was the marionette fight (too chaotic) and SAB (not really like playing GW2, I kept getting bored with it after about 10 minutes – I appreciate I’m the only one though lol! )

Personally I can’t wait for S2, I keep checking every day to see if there’s been an update of any kind

It’s frustrating for everyone who has this problem; it only started after one of the big updates and was not a problem before that, so it is definitely due to something that got changed or added, and no indication has ever been given that it will be fixed or even that it is being looked at.

My biggest worry is in case whatever is causing this also affects the ‘gliding’ skill in the HoT expac. If I buy it and then found that was impossible for me to do, then I would be really, REALLY upset.

Okay, there is something I have to say concerning this event. After putting the effort into finding these keys and charging them, I can open the ogre chamber whenever its available to me. I don’t have to wait until after Fire Elemental (WBT) before I open it. After hearing people scream at me, send me hate mail, try to get me reported for trolling and/or griefing… I find it increasingly difficult to continue being nice about it.

Let me clarify a bit on what is happening.

My guild runs a WBT every night (except holidays and patch days) and when we call everyone over to FE — we usually like to do Steam Ogre beforehand. Why? Two main reasons: 1) Actively doing something is better than standing around in the FE chamber waiting for it to spawn and 2) Normally we have other places to be. Remember that outside of the horrible World Boss Schedule there are Temples and other T2 world bosses that aren’t on a schedule. We have scouts and preppers out calling them when available. So when we’re at FE we normally do Ogre>FE>T2/Temple>Shatterer (roughly).

Where is the conflict? When we are in the process of pulling all of our guild members onto the same map shard we warn in Map chat that we’re opening Ogre before FE. Usually the 3 minute mark. Unfortunately the amount of hate we’re getting for it is starting to wear on me. I don’t have to warn in map chat – please remember that – but I do because it is the considerate thing to do. We’re perfectly capable of opening the chamber without saying a word. But, again, the hate is starting to wear on me.

For any of you reading this that have sent me hateful messages and the like:

• Reporting me will do nothing because I’m not doing anything wrong or worthy of a report.
• Blocking me doesn’t bother me but may cause you to miss a future Ogre call out.
• Outwardly expressing your anger at me may end up causing me to report you, depending on the vulgarity used.

So to everyone reading this…
Please pay attention to map chat and be kind to those around you.

This thread is now a bit TL:DR, so I’m going to just answer the OP.

If you do something in a way that is contrary to the way the majority of participants want to do it, they will complain, and you will have to suck it up.

Given that YOU SAY YOURSELF people are unhappy about it, and are TELLING YOU they’re unhappy about it, why do you keep on doing it like that? The only reason to continue to do it that way is basically to troll everyone else, because you’re feeling hissy about them complaining.

Quit complaining. If you want to carry on annoying everyone else in the map then you better just suck it up, princess. What answer were you expecting?

There are no straight answers to give…if they’re listed under the ‘Promotions’ tab then it could be as little as 24 hours (as with the feathered angel wings and a few other things), although this is often for an old item that’s been available before and has been brought back for a one-day special.

If there’s something you like I recommend getting it as soon as you’re able to; I’ve missed items before now that I just thought I’d get ‘eventually’, only to have them vanish from the gemstore.

Please remember OP, these are gw2 players, the same as you, they have paid for the game, just like you, and they are just playing the game, as they have every bit as much right to do as you have.

I’m not seeing any RPers in this forum complaining that their RP is being disrupted by other players’ activities.

Just out of interest OP, if any RPer DID come on the forum to complain that YOU were spoiling their gameplay by insisting on mat farming or whatever through their RP, how would you feel about that? That’s basically what you’re doing here. I’m sorry you’re upset over it, but you don’t really have any justifiable complaint, especially since you can turn off emotes if you feel that strongly about it.

First time posting on the forums, and I just wanted to say my 2 cents in hopes that ANet will see this.

You have a lot of potential with HoT. I got excited when you mentioned how players can glide through the canopy to find new areas of a map. But, IMO, to keep the zone interesting, don’t just make another Silverwaste map, and don’t make it a pointless wasteland (although beautiful) like Southsun. Instead…

Add a thrilling, adrenaline rush, plinko-style, trolly-ride with the gliding system.

Essentially, add minigames, like Mario party. Add glider races as separate instances, like the wintersday games. I’m talking some crazy F-Zero level speed racing through the air. Let there be obstacles and different paths that, at the end, either lead to death or loot. Throw some power-ups in the air so I can speed up or slow down others.

I think I have the same issue.. I’ve done 6 invasions now but the achievement in Vorpp’s Field Assistant just doesn’t keep up with them, it was stuck at 2/5 until the last invasion I did last night when it finally went up to 3/5, don’t know how long it will take to go up again at that rate! Certainly doesn’t seem to be advancing properly.

I have absolutely no idea what PU or the Veil is, but logically, if you can do it ONCE in 3 seconds, then you would only be able to do it TWICE in 8 seconds, because you would need 9 seconds minimum to be able to do it 3 times

Trying to target Shadow Behemoth, pressing Tab cycles through… other players. Green after green after green… can’t target SB at all, or any of the portals etc, except by going a loooong way away – and then it drops the target again as soon as I get close enough to start fireballin’.. Even from way back it seems to prefer sparkflies.

Also can’t target Claw of Jormag, Jungle Wurm or Golem (anything bigger than Wolfmaster in fact). Tab just cycles through irrelevant stuff inc other players. Sometimes I’m going through whole events and getting no credit at all due to not having targetted a single thing. (It was particularly bad in my first and only attempt at Scarlett’s Marionette thing – disastrous, couldn’t target anything at all and just died ALL the deaths) I’ve tried just fireballing madly in the hope it would autotarget something, but either nothing/other players gets targetted – even in the middle of mobs – or I incinerate bunnies or pick fights with moas.

Never used to have this problem, it seemed to start around 6 months ago, or so..seems to be getting worse though, if that’s even possible.

It’s odd for us Brits, to us they’re just normal English language words and not shocking in the slightest. In fact some words that Americans think are swear words are simply not at all – e.g. ‘dam’ (minus the ‘n’ to avoid a kittenstrike lol) means ‘curse’ or ‘cursed’ – not even a schoolteacher would consider those swearwords in the UK, especially not an English teacher! Even some of the ‘worse’ swear words are actually very ancient English language words that have many and often surprisingly subtle meanings; I think we have quite a love for those words, there’s often an odd dignity to them and certainly great history and meaning. Sometimes it’s hard to explain to people from ‘younger’ cultures the significance and breadth of meaning of a word that’s maybe two thousand years old! So in a way I think the British are at best bemused by profanity filters, perhaps even by the very concept of profanity, which is seen very differently over here.

There are some British towns that have those words incorporated into their name, people from those places have an epic challenge in forums generally LOL

But as to typing kitten – yes, I do it all the time! a) Because I’m used to US-oriented culture and I understand that they might find offensive words that I might think are quite normal, and b) because I spend WAY too much time in these forums

I’ve experienced this a lot during boss fights. In fact I’ve often got killed because of it I press the numberkey, the skill icon pulses a couple of times as if it’s going to cast, but then just doesn’t do anything, or go on cd. Sometimes I just end up standing there for ages doing nothing in front of a boss, spamming keys trying to get at least one skill to cast

I now click a skill and wait until I’m absolutely sure it’s not doing anything until I press another, just to minimise any possibility that I’m self-interrupting, which is making for some pretty slow and dull boss fights I don’t know why this is or what’s going on with it. Is it due to lag? Is it ping? Is it something else? I’m not getting any indication that there’s no pathway or anything. This just arrived with the big patch, never had it happen before that.
