My 48 silk scrap sold on tp 9c each!?

Yes, it has improved a great deal, there’s no doubt about that. It just seems to trip over itself if you try to do things too fast. I think the problem is that it shouldn’t allow you to sell before it’s actually ready, it’s a classic problem that reminds me of my old widget-designing days lol

But you’re right Krypto, it’s still a ton better than the old TP

Short-jumping doesn’t work for me, and believe me I tried it for HOURS lol…

There is a workaround for those of us it doesn’t work for though, I finally managed it by getting the lightning-pull aspect, then aiming back at the start (the outcropping of rock that juts out near the waypoint), where you can overshoot without a problem, then lightning-pulling across to the pillar with the jumping aspect from there

Took me one or two tries to get it right initially, but it works like a charm every time

To my knowledge, the rules are thus. You throw your conspiracy theory about how Anet is attempting to sabotage the game onto the forums. The person with the best and most plausible theory is rewarded a shiny metal hat, via an unreleased peer-to-peer trading system, in-game, by a Dev who is not a Dev but totally is a Dev.

Umm no, please don’t. It’s one of the best parts of the game. Every time I re-do it I discover something new or something I’d totally forgotten about, it’s fun. If you don’t want to do anything but PvP then fine, just stick to that. But tbh I think if you hate exploration in this game you basically don’t like the game and should try something else.

Spoilers* way too many in this thread already

in Living World

Posted by: Greyhound.2058

Greyhound.2058

To be honest the whole Season 2 storyline has been been spoiler-ed for me by the thread titles themselves – people don’t seem to realise they are explicitly stating what actually happens in the story and then simply putting Spoilers!! next to it

I haven’t done any of the story parts of S2 yet, nor read any ‘spoiler’ threads, but I know exactly what happens just from the thread titles, which are unavoidable. The same happened in S1. Tacking on the word ‘spoiler’ after you’ve just stated specific events from the story does nothing to erase them from the minds of people who haven’t done it yet. It would be great if people could keep the actual spoilers to within the thread itself and be a bit more careful with the title, as it’s the bit every forum user sees whether they want to or not.

Necro loot drops are bugged.

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Greyhound.2058

Greyhound.2058

I have to agree with this. I started a necro just before that update and have leveled all the way up to 80, and right the way through, got almost no items at all she can use. Definitely less than 1 in 10, maybe less than 1 in 20, and this is still the case now she’s level 80. In fact I also have the problem that she gets low-level gear too, I thought that would improve as she leveled up like with my ele, but no, still mostly low-level whites. Completely different to my ele. My poor necro just gets nothing of value, or profession-specific, at all. If my ele had such bad luck with drops I’d never have got anywhere

I mean, even from Karka Queen, which I do nearly every day, I just get my token rare-in-a-chest, then the actual drop is all low-level, low value, mostly whites. Seriously. And the token rare is always something she can’t use, just to add insult to injury Yesterday’s rares I think I got a mace, a pair of medium armour boots, and a pistol from champ drops

Honestly, until I saw this thread I just thought I was going mad lol

What does ‘range Warden 3’ mean? Perhaps not everyone speaks MMO-speak.

Maybe this example isn’t that bad, but most ‘orders’ I see in this kind of content are totally incomprehensible to many of us. For some reason I don’t have much of a problem with it in wvw, it seems to be in open world events like Teq and OoM that you get people giving incomprehensible commands and then getting shouty with everyone for not carrying them out. Honestly, I just think ‘Huhh??’ half the time I see these ‘orders’.

It is fair. They chose to join the military, and they know as a consequence they may be gone for 18 months. That is no basis for them to be able to hang onto a name that is not in use for over a year and a half. Not to mention, I know plenty of people in the military who still game. They’re not in constant warfare 24/7, simply because they are deployed.

And if you’re gone for over 2 year due to an illness, I think you have bigger things to worry about than losing your name in an online game.

No. Just… so much no.

You’re simply trolling and picking fights with anyone who disagrees with you, and most people do, because your own arguments are, frankly, the arguments of a horrible person. Seriously, you could have had a valid point, until you started just making really unpleasant ‘points’ like the one above. The illness one in particular was just offensive.

Help Quaggan. Any event having to do with quaggans.

Stuff that involves emotes would also be fun. Dancing in front of the Dwayna statue in Divinity’s Reach. Bowing to Queen Jennah.

I know the dailies are intended to get people to try different parts of the game, but throw some fun ones in there. Another part of the game is socializing and silliness, that doesn’t get highlighted as much.

^^ this.

I wish SO MUCH that the dailies were silly/fun things that we would all get a laugh out of doing, particularly en masse

Naked Champ farming; dance parties; ridiculous scavenger hunts using nodes, vistas, jps, items purchased from particular karma vendors, etc.; stupid deaths (something in which I know I excel lol) such as flinging your char off the top of Mt Maelstrom; finding some specific ‘hidden secret’ of Tyria (and there are LOADS of those); you get the idea.

Really it’s not hard to think up activities that are not only fun to do, but that are even more fun when many people are trying to do it at the same time, which you always get at reset time. Some of my happiest gw2 memories are from things like that (like the first day of the Not So Secret aetherblade hideout jp, when there were masses of people trying to do it and it was literally raining falling players, I died so many deaths and laughed so hard I could hardly breathe lol). Mad and hilarious

Seems like a way for the company to charge an inflated price just for an expansion.

It’s there so that new people who don’t have GW2 yet can see that they get the core game in the bundle too, so they aren’t left wondering whether they will still need to buy it seperately.

Jormag fight - why is this so annoying?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Greyhound.2058

Greyhound.2058

I’m a rubbish player, I manage to kill my poor ele at the drop of a hat, but Jormag can be made to work out ok. For one thing, you can get away with doing very little actual damage and still get a gold and all the loot.

I also follow this simple plan – for the first part, stay far, far away from him (defending the laser canons, for instance, or even just rezzing people), then the INSTANT you hear ‘The wall is down!’ go straight into air for speed, run all the way up to him as fast as possible, then into fire or earth and pound the bejesus out of him for the few moments you get before the wall goes up again. The moment you see players start to run away again, RUN AWAY lol…go back to what you were doing before. Rinse. Repeat.

For the second stage, with the ice pillars, you don’t need to get anywhere near him. Stay out of the fear zone and just destroy ice pillars and rez the fallen. You get plenty of credit just for those things And if you go into water and spam area healing just as feared and damaged players are running up towards you, you can really be a big help

Op, has it not occurred to you that a player may have built up a lot of AP but is leveling a new profession? They’d certainly seem like a noob if they’re playing, say, mes for the first time after only ever playing guard or thief or whatever.

Btw, I have over 7000 AP but have never set foot in a dungeon It would be correct to say PvE is a major part of the game – it’s THE major part of the game – but you couldn’t possibly say that about dungeons. A part, for sure, but not the major part.

It brings into sharp contrast the new daily of 4 events in a particular map – I never realised how few events there are on some maps, and how hard you have to look to find them. It only makes me like SW more really.

Why do they HAVE to role play in public?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Greyhound.2058

Greyhound.2058

You’ve never seen roleplayers who like to say stuff that should really be in private? You must play at a less populous time or something. I agree with the OP, it does get tedious. And no, they wouldn’t do it in private if they could. They clearly enjoy being “exhibitionists” with what they say. Sometimes they are obviously trying to “one-up” each other to see how offensive they can get.

And yes, it interrupts play to try to block them. You can’t right-click the /me comments.

Maybe there should be a separate Roleplay channel (that would keep emotes in that channel) that people must use unless they’re just waving hi or doing one /dance or whatever.

Sorry Djinn, I was laboring under the delusion that they had as much right to play how they wanted as you, I didn’t realise you bought the Double-Secret Special Little Snowflake Edition of GW2 and therefore had more rights than everybody else, my bad.

I’m afraid complicated arguments about the economy etc. are completely beyond me, lol… but I have a nephew who is just getting to the age where he might like to start playing, maybe with the reasonable restrictions of a F2P account, and I’m really hoping he can join us in our Guild, I can’t wait to have him join me and his Dad in Tyria

So, there are other considerations than just ‘the economy’ for us existing players, the new F2P may bring in people of various ages, for all sorts of reasons.. I’m looking forward to meeting them, anyway

Greyhound.2058

Silverwastes is not Heart of Thorns.
Living story season two gives all the background you need on why sylvari are ‘evil’.

I just did Hot for the first time today, and it took me a good 30mins to take a base solo in silver wastes with my ranger…

I then had enough time to grab a vista and get down again when the base was instantly over taken… by strange dog things with insect legs, they out ran me flicked me up and insta killed me… fun…

I then run all the way back in time to see another player die to them and fail saving the base only to insta die again to strange green mist..

I then decide i’ll follow the story which was uneventful and well i have no bloody idea whats going on, apparently the pact has all been killed by trees and a dude with glowing eyes… Heart of thorn title and i’m in Brink..

No back story nothing so i’m lost completely I was away from GW2 for 2 years and well supposedly we are supposed to be able to drop GW2 and then return and not miss anything… guess not.

Ok back to Hot i’m wondering why sylvari are all evil now which is odd because the sylvari home town is still the same, i move on i defend this pact base after rescuing the reavers or something and ritlock turns up all ninja like and saves the day, everyone is shocked at him being alive but not me because i have no clue he was dead??

Then the real entertainment starts i finish the story and i’m told i must fly to start the rest well i have no clue on masteries so i go to kill some stuff… i’m insta killed by pocket raptors in seconds..

People find this map fun, really?

Also as an icing on the cake for some reason i get headaches playing hot, i do not in the original game, why is that?

The maps are dead on my server and well i have no real interest in going back, i feel i wasted my money on this thing.

TLDR Heart of thorns is a waste of time and money.

So i need to purchase 2000 gems just to understand my $60 expansion pack?

…wow.

Sooo…basically what you’re saying is, I didn’t do any of the story content for the last 2 years and now I don’t know what’s happened…?

Book shops must love you when you go in and say ’I’m just going to buy the final book in this series, I demand you tell me the whole story up to that point for free as I have no intention of paying for the other books.’

Well I’m totally +1-ing that, I love Sanctum Sprint but the lightning pulls don’t work for me at all any more.

The thing is, they used to work just fine during the annual Zephyr Sanctum event. Then when Dry Top was introduced, it stopped working for some reason. The one at the crash site in Dry Top didn’t work, and from that moment, nor did any other lightning pull anywhere else. So something must have been changed. Although my internet is terrible, I know that isn’t the issue, because it USED to work and now doesn’t and my internet is exactly the same kitteny line as it’s always been lol

I still keep trying to do Sanctum Sprint though. It’s one of the only activities that’s actually fun to do And I always get excited when I hear that music! I’d probably get so much done if rl activities had that music lol

I don’t want those perks that I paid so much extra for to start being doled out for free to people who’ve bought the cheapest ‘basic’ package. You want the perks? Pay for them then. If you don’t think it’s worth it, don’t buy it.
