I may not be used to the new TP yet, but for me, it looks more confusing than helpful.
Here are some things that I find disturbing:
Cannot insta-buy/sell multiple items easily. Say, I need 4 foxfire clusters; they’re sold for 40s 01c (2x), 40s 02c (1x), 40s 09c (1x). Previously, I could skip setting the price and just buy 4 of them; now, I have to buy 2+1+1, clicking several times instead, or tick the price and change the quantity later! The (!) colourful notifications are more confusing than helping. If we stick to the current interface, an “auto match price for instant sell” tickbox which removes restrictions on the quantity bar and greys out the price field may solve the problem. The tickbox setting should persist. However, I do not think this is a perfect solution – some kind of unified “max quantity + auto price” button could’ve worked faster, but it’s extra buttons in a small UI, so..
The buy and sell listing should be bigger and longer. The buy and sell windows should be a PART of it (say on the right side of the bids and asks window), not on a separate window. Total listing/volume should be added. We had total listing… now its gone…
This UI is crammed, small, unintuitive and inefficient (count the click to do things).
P.S. One more thing, if I buy something at a price that is being sold, however there is not enough units available, I expect my unfilled order to be put into the BID with the price I have set. Same goes with sell.
For people who actually think LS is better, lets go through this for a minute.
And all of this PERMANENT!
If LS did this each month, then it would be awesome. So even if the LS delivery method is better, it’s still inferior to the expansion model.
And if I have to wait longer to get this level of content, so be it! Making quality content takes time, if you are going to roll out content on a bi weekly basis you will never recieve the same amount of quality. And it shows.

Sure if you add all the smaller stuff, completely disect the content and list things twice (for example: 6 guild mission types, then go ahead to list the guild missions seperately, or 1 zone, 1 town instead of 2 zones) it’s not that hard to make a list that long. Besides, not all of that content (like the account wallet) is related to Living Story.
If I decide to Disect the content of one of the Gw1 expansions I can make a list around 4 times that size. (which I am not going to do since it takes forever, if you can’t take my word for it, bite me)
Though to be fair, LS did indeed release a bunch of permanent content I acknowledge that.

NCsoft’s latest financials are out, and show a 49 per cent fall in net income on last quarter, but a 322 per cent rise year on year. Sales follow the same pattern, down 51 per cent on the last quarter, but up 31 per cent on last year.
Q1 sales were ?184.9 million or $166.3m (£108.2m), while net income for the same period stood at ?52.3m or $47.1m (£30.6m).
Korea remained NCsoft’s biggest market with 64 per cent of sales, up from 43 per cent last quarter. North America’s share fell from 25 per cent to 13 per cent, while Europe fell from 18 per cent to 8 per cent. The company’s biggest seller for Q1 2013 was Lineage 1, but Guild Wars 2 still maintained a 21 per cent share.
NCsoft’s managing director, Nah Seong Chan, also hinted during the earnings call that the company was planning to address falling Guild Wars 2 sales with a new expansion pack.
“In terms of box sales and microtransactions are still very strong, and of course we are preparing an expansion pack but in terms of when we will actually launch it, it’s something we are still monitoring… We are looking to the performance of the game and then we will decide what will be the best time to do the launch.”
Unfortunately developer ArenaNet doesn’t appear to have got the memo, with director Colin Johanson saying as recently as March that none were currently planned.
“Expansions are definitely something that we’ll potentially look at in the future, but we don’t have a timetable on it. We’re open to it, but I think our major focus as a studio is making the living world concept as strong as possibly can for the players that we’ve got.”
So NCSoft seems to realize they need an expansion… but ANet has no word of it…. make of that what you will.

You do realize the majority of the updates are already in the works and have been for months now? The last should be started soon now that the Wintersday patch is live. The teams have four months to work on the content. One of those teams should be just about done. There’s no logical way they can just scrap the rest of the Scarlet arc.

just end the scarlet story… whole scarlet living stories has already made me disdain GW lore and story. You guys are actually making the weak campaign looking like a master piece.
I use to enjoy GW1 campaign and lore, and now I don’t even want to think about it.
Scarlet remindes me of Carmen Sandiego (from the “Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego?” tv series). She just picked a random place on the world and started to do some random evil for no apparent reason. I guess we can say Scarlet Sandiego does the same: choose a random place on Tyria and start making trouble.
Woa now, Carmen helped us learn geography when we were knee high. Scarlet helped me learn that weak writing can earn you a living wage.
maybe I should take on some freelancing writing projects… hahahahahahahhaha
They want to be happy with it. They want us to accept it. This is making huge profits for them.
They don’t want this game to run for years as we do (they will try to keep it alive with the least amount of effort possible, its business), so if they can squeeze every penny out of it, they will probably do it.

People seems to ignore the fact that Angel was already at ArenaNet back when Beyond was created, and people always kept saying how awesome the Beyond Chapters were.
too bad, I left GW1 after EOTN. So I do not say how awesome Beyond is.

wtf is the lore turning into? Joker storyline? To be honest Joker isn’t even the most interesting villain out there, only movies made him a “big hit.” One dimensional villain, I can even think up multiple different ones better than Scarlett and I am not even a professional writer.

it simply meant “Gold” base’s growth rate is faster than Gem’s. I mean it is reasonable development, with all those champ bags and relatively easiness of running dungeon for 1 gold each path.
This also means, gold sinks are not counteracting the new gold growth effectively. I personally think the biggest reason is that there is simply not enough gold sinks, because most of cosmetic items are gem purchases. You could argue that gem act like a gold sink, but if someone is unwilling to exchange the gold for the gem due to high exchange rate then it has no gold sink effect.
To Op’s questions, I doubt it. Floating exchange rates is designed to show relative value. Unfortunately, gold is losing value COMPARE to gems. More importantly, this is in Anet’s favor…. no go buy some gems using your credit card
So should those of us who didn’t know it was an exploit and bought ~50 of them be worried? I bought 50 on the tp when I saw the prices go down because I thought it would be a good economic decision since I figured the market would bounce back and I could make some money flipping them (which is perfectly legal). I didn’t know at the time that the price dip was because of a bug…. I’ve heard in the past they punished people for making money unintentionally off of a bug. It’s not like I was trying to profit from an exploit, I just thought it was a market flux.

The second 100% map completion should re-reward you again with 2 gifts of exploration. Sometimes (often?? always??) it happens that you have to revisit the chantry of secrets so the game registers that you actually reached 100% map completion and give you the rewards again.
ANet business analyst probably still thinking LS is very successful. Pointing at the numbers and claim they increase # of player logging on etkittentle do they realize, boring content will hurt their business in the long run. They can get away with temporary small content dump, but eventually players patience run out + a better mmo. There could be a rout.
I’ve seen the so call purchase walls. For example someone put in 5000 orch ore order at higher price, then another 5000 orch ore buy order at 1 copper price lower. This create a buy order wall … now that is market manipulation.
There’s nothing special about buy ordering 5000 ore. You do know that creating for example one Dusk/Dawn requires on average 42,000 ore? There’s a multitude of players who are Mystic Forging their way to precursors, and competing against each other with material buy orders to create them cheaper.
42,000 orch ore at 5 silver each is 210,000 silver (2,100 gold). Dawn price = 600g to 800g. I think you are wrong. BTW I have a sunrise.

Anet do have a bias in keeping the image of this game to be pristine. Recently, Anet asked one of their Dev not to speak to GW2 community for opinion while developing. It was reported on Reddit as well as the Dev’s blog post (explanation for cease interaction). It went on to talk about image of the game, etc etc.
Vol, with all due respect, how do you know this to be true? Are you an alpha tester? If you’re not, and this is info has been relayed to you – directly from an alpha tester or indirectly – it doesn’t comfort me. A few months ago, I was told a bit more general stuff via via as well regarding an upcoming patch, on which I didn’t act (nor did I want to, but that’s beside the point). But it did concern the economy, I can tell you that.
Other than that: even if they don’t provide all the patch notes, as you say, it would surprise me if they would implement anything to do with the economy at the last hour. That stuff needs testing as well. So anyone stepping up to the forge and having a go at the crossing would have found out it was disabled.

there is balance leaks yes there is, but unless we know how the testing servers work we cant say that they are affected by economic balances at all, as there is no need for economic changes to be tested on the testing server as that can be tested by a simulation program meaning there is none that can leak any economic changes in any way as they dont have them but they do have the balance notes and they are being leaked.

It doesn’t solve anything, only let a few more people in on the secret.
It solves the problem of people who are not happy with others having the advantage, which is the entire point of this post.
No it doesn’t. How many would try out a open test server in the first few hours it’s up and figure out what to invest or divest on the live market? If you’re not the “in on the secret” in those first crucial few hours you are back will the rest of the masses wondering what happen to the market. The opportunity will be gone.
So when does the open test server go on line with the change? NA prime hours, EU, Oceania? Some slice of the player population will be a sleep or in work when this goes up and they won’t be able to get in on it.
All this will do is to increase the number of players taking advantage slightly compared to the full player base. Sure you may be able to deny absurd profits from these mythical “inside traders” but in reality all you want is to have the chance to be one of them. It doesn’t “fix” the problem.
It is more fair than few people knowing insider tips. Now everyone has a chance.
I didn’t draw any conclusions in my original post. I merely stated: “My friend saw a bunch of dawns vanish from the TP and then an identical number show up shortly afterwards, reposted for roughly 200gp more.”
The data I provided supports my friend’s observation of what happened in the market. No where in this topic have I stated that the cause was market manipulation. You started that rant on your own with your “conspiracy theory” statements.
