I guess we’ll have to see. I wouldn’t be too surprised if it’s just a glitch. I go through my wardrobe constantly and today is the first time I’ve seen this pop up.

Gathering tools are coming to the wardrobe system.
As there’s a bunch of guilds having this issue at least an idea would be nice:
· Should we stop upgrading our guild halls until this one is fixed?
· What about Aethrium overflow in the meantime?
· Is this an erroneous display or do our guilds still have their levelup?
· If not, will it be granted after fixing this issue?Cheers..
What he said, please give us answers.

After looking at the wvw upgrades it’s pretty obvious a large portion of that needs to be reworked..
I’ve seen a lot of frustration from people on the current upgrade system. There is no way to perfectly balance guild hall progression with consideration to guild size. However, I think there is a reasonable solution. Give guilds the option to halve the necessary materials for an upgrade by doubling the amount of aetherium needed to complete the job.
This way smaller guilds don’t get bankrupt if they don’t mind waiting a little longer.
All WvW guild claiming upgrades need to be free and unlocked at any guild hall level. You shouldn’t need to pay for a feature that was already unlocked before HoT launched. That’s just ridiculous.
Scribing should no longer be a crafting profession for individuals but a collaborative effort amongst guild members which is accessed via the new Guild Scribe npc. The highest level scribe in the guild converts over to the scribe npc’s level.
There’s 2 elements here:
1) Rightful action by Anet to remove problematic testers from their program
2) Entirely natural schadenfreude that you get when people are jerks and then immediately get blown up for being jerks.
People are a lot less mad at DnT than they are enjoying a case of the birds coming home to roost. You might not think that’s a terribly postiive attitude either, but you don’t get to be tastemaker any more than I do, do you?
I’m not seeing what they did as problematic or that they were being ‘elitist jerks’. I didn’t take their comments on twitter to be a serious jab at Arenanet, the players or the game, hence my comment you people need to lighten up. The hypersensitivity surrounding this community is astounding.
(edited by IIvIIozzie.9250)
Arenanet and this community need to lighten up. Who cares if they claim to be first, of course they would be. This was obviously going to to be the case when they decided to give early access to players. If you’re hurt that you and your guild aren’t first simply tell yourselves that they don’t count. It isn’t like WoW where you get an achievement for getting world first.
What’s wrong with you people?
At 43:43 in the new POI Colin mentions a map reward system which can be viewed by hovering over the map name and the rewards rotate? I don’t see this… Is this part of the beta weekend? Is this coming only after HoT launches? I’ve never heard this mentioned before now.
What if they announced 3 PvE maps for HoT?

stuff
You fail to understand your opposition’s argument. Southsun wasn’t a fail because the content was too hard, it was a fail because the content was buggy, laggy, boring and unrewarding. While no longer buggy and laggy as it used to be, Anet put no QoL into the zone, they left it to rot. Raising the HP on enemy mobs to make it more “difficult” is just lazy on the part of the developers. They claim to have challenging content in the expansion, we’ll see. If their recent updates are any indication for what’s in store many players will be disappointed, myself included.

What if they announced 3 PvE maps for HoT?

I believe and fully expect the expansion will be 3-4 zones, tops. I’ve already prepared myself for the PR onslaught that is forthcoming. Arenanet’s marketing team will say “It might only look like 3 regular-sized MMO maps, however with our revolutionary biome design it’ll really be like getting 9 maps!” The fanboy’s will eat it up and continue counting the WvW map, Guildhalls, stronghold and any other little old map (ahem* challenging content) to pad the numbers.
I still haven’t pre-purchased. This is the first time in all the GW games that I didn’t buy pre-order/purchase on day 1. I refuse to put my money down until I have a clear understanding of what I’m getting and what will be added to the base game at HoT launch.
@OP, these are all very good questions that should have been made clear by now. Can we please get an official answer on this?
Tomorrow's PoI: What do you want to know about Pact Commander masteries?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: IIvIIozzie.9250
In the event you continue to read this thread before making the POI I’d like to ask the most obvious question: Will these “central Tyria” masteries be core masteries, as in free for people who just own GW2 and not HoT?
What are your queue times like Dahkeus? Mine are almost as long as the match itself, when you consider waiting for queue to pop, map selection, loading in and match startup. If you get bad players on your team you just wasted so much time for nothing. That reminds me, they need to bring /resign back.
@Wizland: They had something similar in GW1, except they called it Random Arena and Team arena. I think the problem with that setup was it took forever to get a match when you were a full team.
80 Views and no opinions from either side?
I run a mix of mantra, pu and shatter so I’m well hated.
So we are nearing three years into Guild Wars 2, we’ve gotten some improvements along the way, but there still feels like there is a lot of stuff missing.
Queue times. Here’s a challenge developer’s, sit at your desk for a random amount of time, anywhere from 3-6 mins staring at your screen. Now play the game for 10 minutes. Stop. Now sit there and stare for 3-6 mins again. That’s what (un)ranked play is like. Add an extra minute on top for map chat.
Unranked. Why do we even have this? I get the idea behind why it’s there but is it really worth doubling the queue times? SPvP is not popular enough for this. Instead, why not…..
Add more server admin options. Give admins more rights and options to facilitate team games and allow admins to authorize additional admins so there is more coverage. Give admins the power to build sub communities. Admins should be able to do things like change the map, mute players across the server, disable secondary objectives, change game type, etc.
Map vote. Give hot join players the option to vote up the next map, get rid of this randomness while you’re at it. If 8 players vote for Foefire and 1 votes for Temple there should be a 0% chance temple wins. Majority rules. Hot join servers may also have an option turned on by the admin for game type vote.
More game types and maps. I realize you guys want to re-invent the wheel but please, stop it. STOP IT. It’s gimmicky and you’re wasting development time on things we don’t really care about. We are easier to please than you think. Give us things that you know will work. Give us things like GW1-type PVP AKA Last Team Standing. That would be a great, fast paced mode. How about capture the flag? (Team) Deathmatch? And no, not the courtyard team deathmatch where everyone is expecting conquest and getting stuck in a game type their build isn’t viable for. Having four map choices in ranked is so repetitious and boring, you have so many assets to reuse, do it!
VOIP. Not having VOIP in your game is having a much bigger impact than you know. The reason why the PVP community is so “toxic” is because you can’t jump into pug’s and coordinate anything. It frustrates the hell out of player’s to the point where the only thing they can get out quickly is insults. PVP require’s so much clicking it’s not realistic to expect team leader’s to write out instructions on what to do. What is the counter argument to this? “It’s expensive to implement” – free to play games have it, games over a decade old have it. It can’t be that challenging to incorporate. Is somebody being a kitten on the mic? right click + mute. Just like map chat, problem solved.
Detailed statistics. I don’t really care if it’s view able by the community, I just want pages and pages of stats to review.
PVP rewards. It shouldn’t be easier to earn dungeon rewards in PVP, but it is. I don’t understand why dungeon rewards were ever added to pvp to begin with, other than an excuse to not have to work on unique skins for PVP. Each game type should have unique skins. Doing so would encourage players to try out various game types.
In-game tournament options. This is a long shot but it would be a nice feature.
I could go on and on but really, if just the things above were added PvP in GW2 would actually be exciting.

I recall a horn sound that alerted me to when an arena match was about to begin, I haven’t heard it for quite some time now. Did they take it out of the game or has it been turned off by default somewhere?
Simply quoting the new faq would be missing the point entirely. Also, my ego and existence on the line? I hardly use this forum and from the complacent attitude of certain vocal people on here It’s hard to care what they think.

WOW, finally some people get it. After I wrote up
This post(textile isn’t working): https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Contradiction-in-Community-Address
I had almost lost faith in the intelligence of this community.
(edited by IIvIIozzie.9250)
No, I think what they mean is when they did refer to the pay model. From the old FAQ:
“Q: Do I have to own Guild Wars 2 to play the expansion? A: Yes. Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns is an expansion to Guild Wars 2 and not a stand-alone campaign, and therefore it requires the base game to play.”
It’s a pretty clear contradiction. I guess fanboyism is blinding.
@ Piano Man, I don’t think I can’t make my point any clearer. Stating in the Faq HoT will be like EotN suggests to players you have to pay twice. Once for core game and once for expansion. Arenanet then went on to put the core game on sale to get people to buy it up in anticipation for HoT. They then go on to state it was their plan for this expansion and for future expansions to only pay once. It’s a contradiction. If someone has a legitimate counterargument to this I’d really like to read it.
Perhaps unlike others, I wasn’t disappointed with Arenanet because I felt entitled and wanted more, I was disappointed because what they did as a business was ethically wrong and after being called out on it they didn’t accept accountability for it, they play it off like it was a big misunderstanding, throw a character slot and refunds out and hope’s their player base rolls over for their belly rub.
I’ve been a loyal player of Guild Wars prior to the launch of prophecies. They have a really talented, hard working team over there that I greatly admired and respected over the years but whoever is running the business side of things now is going to bring ruin to this company.
Guy’s, this thread isn’t an argument for or against their new business model of “buy once, get everything”. Instead, it’s a discussion of how when they finally come forward with a statement it doesn’t really make a whole lot of sense.
Similar does not mean identical.
Giving away all past products as included in new versions of the software is not shady.
What’s shady is they completely contradict themselves in the same statement. Their new business model has much more in common with their old stand alone campaign than it does their EOTN expansion. If their business plan all along was to have future expansions include everything up to that point, fine. I have no problem with that at all. But this address really reads like a poor cover up of any wrong doing on their part.
“In our January 23 FAQ, we wanted to clarify that Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns would not be a stand-alone campaign like those offered in Guild Wars ® in the past (Factions® and Nightfall®), but instead would be a true expansion to Guild Wars 2 similar to what Guild Wars: Eye of the North® was to our original game.”
Followed By:
“We believe that to keep the game dynamic and vibrant with a constantly growing community, it should be as easy as possible for new players to get into Guild Wars 2. For Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns, we didn’t want the core game’s price to be a factor in a new player’s decision to begin playing Guild Wars 2. In the future, if we release further Guild Wars 2 expansions, we plan to offer all of the prior expansions, the core game, and the latest expansion for one single purchase price.”
So let’s get this straight. You didn’t want HoT to be similar to stand alone campaign to GW1 (which was the only purchase needed), but similar to Eye of the north (Which required player’s to purchase the expansion plus one of the stand alone campaign’s). Yet, you go on to say that your business model for this expansion and all future expansions is you pay once? Very shady Arenanet. Very shady.
“Are they still angry?”
“sir……. it’s over 3000 upvotes now. We can’t even keep the forums online due to the unrelenting hatred”
“What am I paying you fools for, distract them! Start feeding them weeks worth of those pre-made blog posts we got lying around!”
“Don’t you think we should come up with an immediate solution to remedy this problem?”
“BLOG POSTS!”
“Yes sir.”

People broke down the math month’s ago on reddit, it always floated around 8%
No, you don’t deserve it.
you people are ungrateful. Be happy with what you got.
(edited by IIvIIozzie.9250)
It’s been around 10% since the very start of ascended armor.
They are adding mastery systems to the core game so you’ll likely get some of those, absolutely free. They are already giving you skill changes, specializations (save elite) , wvw map, stronghold all free. new armors and weapons aren’t very important because there is no more progression in these area’s, only skins. I think you are putting your old account on a pedestal.
Another point I’d like to make is that people are complaining they don’t get a single free character slot. When you purchase HoT on a new account you get FIVE free character slots.
It isn’t like your old, used account disappears. You can always go back to play on it.
@nexxe: the base game is completely free. No charge at all for it once you purchase HoT.
@fleshwound: what you don’t mention is that you are free to purchase the HoT and attach it to your old account. They will allow you to do that. You don’t have to add it to a brand new account.
I think it’s rather gracious that they even give players a choice. They didn’t have to give away a free copy of the game, but they did anyway. Had they not done so the majority of the complaints would not exist. I’ve never seen people upset and getting something for free in my life…. that wasn’t a STD.
How much did Anet paid you for this message? Explain why existing players are denied a chance to create a revenant without paying another $10 more. I am not even factoring the free game.
Your name perfectly reflects that statement. How are you being denied creating a revenant? I don’t know about you but I received 5 free character slots when I bought my copy of the game.
@Draycon: you can, read the post above yours.

I’ve never seen such an ungrateful fanbase in my life. They are giving you the base game completely free and you people are still complaining! You guys are incredible…..
Except, I want my old, original account and the chars I’ve been playing on for the last 3 years with all the titles and skins from this game and the Hall of Monuments to take to the expansion. I don’t want some bare bones account to level new chars on to take there.
If you insist on playing the game on your older, used account they allow you to do that. You don’t need to play on a fresh account, you can buy the expansion and use it on your old account.
And you can’t play the expansion on your old account, it’s forever stalled in Guild Wars 2 vanilla. Your old chars on that account don’t have access to the new maps, the elite specializations, the Revenant, the mastery system or the new way to make Legendaries.
WHAT A DEAL! Where can I (not) sign up?
Why would you want to attach the expansion to a used copy of the game anyway. Besides it gives you a game free.
What I don’t understand is people are getting something for nothing and they are still complaining! People it’s so simple. Sign up for a new account on the website and you get the base game free with purchase of HoT! Now you get two accounts!
Yeah this is a great deal, I don’t understand why people can’t see it. You sign up for a new account and get the original game for free and you get HoT at $50 starting. That’s a great value – not including the better versions.
No you get charged the same amount but you get a new account with HoT.
No what you do is sign up for a new account. You’ll get the xpac on that account and you are free to keep your old account.
