I can’t believe the developers thought that people running builds that help each other/fulfill roles and talking though a client can compete against a random grouping of classes that can’t do these things.

It’s embarrassing that the games developers need to be reminded how balance works. I’ve already quit solo queue; it’s horrid. Reverse this change and maybe you might fix an already shrinking community.

I’ve never played Team Queue in GW2 but am an avid Solo Queue player; why am I being forced to play in a pickup group against people in mumble? How is this balanced?

Scepter is clunky because people over like 700 away can strafe by moving left and right. Fortunately it hits really hard and has two other skills that are amazing.

The longbow with warriors is so strong that almost every warrior uses it. I dont like it thoough.. I think its boring. Its just attack skills. Scepter can be paired with focus for nice defense or utility. If you want a class that is ranged focus dont do guardian.

I love hammers. I do. I’ll really miss banishing people off cliffs, ring of warding etc. Any idea if I can have a nice slice of that burning cake and eat it too? Seems like most hybrids are Greatsword, Mace/Scepter/Sword+Focus. I want to use Hammer. I never really see Hammer Guardians.

Also what about Celestial ammy? Crits probably wasted.

What about switching Healing Spring to Troll Ungent? Although you lose that really nice water field for 5 seconds faster CD. Just curious.

Absolutely not, I will use my typical melee builds that I have posted dozens of times on these forums. Either 2/0/6/6/0 or 0/0/6/2/6.

I’m a complete noob ranger but what exactly is the 0/0/6/2/6 here? settlers amulet with some type of healing rune? I’m a big fan of tanky rangers I personally really dislike the longbow because I feel exposed.

I run this exact build, except I use Tool Kit instead of Elixir S. Yeah, running with 1 stunbreaks bad but I just love magnet shield, prybar and that block. blocks for days.

Anyway, lmao @ the haters that can only think that the meta is viable. I’m not upper crust PVP material, but I do just fine in Solo Q with my build. I sit at a respectable 65% win rate overall. It’s not amazing, but I have fun with it.

I’d personally prefer toughness. As someone pointed out, toughness works better vs melees, vitality works better vs dots.

I mostly play my engineer so I know to not take condition removal for granted. My ranger however, has access to wonderful condition removal (not in a broken way like ele imo)

Why are people crying like it’s the end of the class? Other than a few changes like the blind cloud it doesn’t seem that severe.

Where can I find these? I don’t play a thief but I can’t find them anywhere. The warriors are posted on their forums

I like Solo Queue. Yes it’s very frustrating to get grouped with kittenheads. Yes, it’s very annoying to join 4v5s (honestly if the game starts with a 4v5 it shouldn’t count against records etc.. just play for points and give the 4 team a little extra for losing/winning).

The leaderboards are messed up but overall it’s not as bad as people make it out to be. If you want to play with people you know are good, team queue. Stop expecting the RNG gods to be on your side every time.

If you’re like me and absolutely hate grenades, bomb kit actually works wonders in solo queue. You’d really be surprised how many people chase after you while you drop bombs, sit in fire spots, etc. Bomb kit absolutely decimates “the bads” in pvp.

You made the right decision.

You can probably do Bombs/Flamethrower with that stunbreak elixir if he wants go condi heavy and can handle 2 kits. -maybe- rocket boots, bombs stunbreak elixir. But in reality if he wants to win more as an engineer, he needs to get used to 3 kitting it.

I HATE grenades and I do just fine with Bombs. Although I use bombs, elixir gun and toolkit.

Anything but Human. I’m more sick of looking at Humans than I am of Asura.

I have a Sylvari ranger that I like. It’s a little different.
Norn are going to get you killed when you play better people. Actually it might get you killed in Solo Q because the power thieves looking for big numbers for their youtube compilation videos tend to go for the bigger opponents first.
Charr are cool too.

I’m not an expert on ranger but I’d say storm spirit isn’t as useful as a stunbreak in my opinion, and that going tanky settlers with more condition damage focus would be better overall. It gives you more point holding potential if you use high healing power to your advantage.

I also prefer axe/dagger to SB for many reasons and to take torch with sword. I’ve also ran the same build as I described with celestial too when tanking a point wasn’t needed as much.

I don’t really want to see a WvWvW montage of a ranger attacking uplevels, I’m just having some problems with the strategy/1v1ing with condition rangers. I prefer to see spirits but other builds I’d be interested in too.

My game experience today was 3 4v5s in a row too (just like a previous poster had), a team with a power mesmer saying a certain derogatory term over and over every time he staked someone, another 4v5 that we ended up winning, and a losing game where the warrior and his thief friend harassed me after the game blaming me for the loss even though I had taken plenty of points/had 150.

I’m mentally drained on this game anymore. SoloQ is broken and terrible and sadly the only thing I play in this game.

I’m just going to say that every time I log into twitch.tv, all I see are THIEVES so many, Warriors, Guardians and sometimes Mesmers.

So my answer are Engineers (haven’t seen one all week when I login), Necromancers/Elementalists (see a few) and Rangers (never see them).

The minute I picked it up, I never used the stunbreak elixir again.

Likewise, everyone on the winning team is a jerk using overpowered builds like Hambow.

I really love the flamethrower/tool kit/bomb kit. Love them to death. Quite literally because I’m trying to figure out how I can ditch the elixir gun and pick back up my flamethrower for sPVP.

I think I shouldn’t go for Juggernaut but its such a nice thing to use. I’m spread too thin on talents.

It’s really dumb that you can join a game, not get a 5th player and pretty much receive an automatic loss. Why is this not a thing?

I agree read the wind should be baseline. It feels like you have to pretty much go a little glassy to make longbow useable.

I really dislike the sword MH, can I use maybe.. Axe/D+Shortbow? Or is Axe/D+Sword/X the bees knees.

I’ll use the sword if I have to, and it’s a nice evade on the 3 but I really can’t say I like the other abilities. Not in love with the shortbow either but seems like that’s rangers only option with an axe

Shield 5 doesnt seem to knockback enough. It feels like it never works. Banish always feels like it works, shield 5 feels iffy.

Getting bored of the standard Meditiation build. I like to bunker, I’m not as interested in support. I find myself doing a 1v2 a lot in sPVP. I was playing a few days ago and saw a Guardian do a good 1v2 as Consecration (well, to be fair I was one of the 2 and my damage isn’t very good).

I don’t know what to choose in the talent tree/what I would do with this. Obviously lower consecration CDs, but I’m too used to the healing clutch you get with meditations. How would I mitigate this damage?

Skyhammers hilarious. I can imagine getting upset if you tryhard this and don’t have stability. Stop fighting the kitten engineer with the flamethrower and big bomb near edges/“that goldeneye control room”.

I understand it definitely has a bias over some classes (the more/farther the knockback the better). I pick up my Hammer on my Guardian and play golf with people. It never gets old.

Now the jumping, that gets old. This map shouldn’t probably appear on Solo Queue since it does kind of cause some OP games but honestly I wish the game had more maps like this. It’s not fair but it’s really entertaining.

Get Gold for winning.
You could maybe pull out a 2Gold per hour AVG… so .. only 250 hours left get farming.

It’s unfortunate they give us a fraction of the gold PvErs make in an hour.

It really is. If they cared about queue times, all they would have to do is buff gold per hour or add new skins if they’re worried about inflation.

How good are you with the Sword? Most bad rangers I see fly around the screen with it while not doing any damage.

Yeah, I was thinking Sword/Axe but I like GS more. GS has much more utility and damage, sword axe has nice evades but they’re a bit flaky.
