People can finish it in 20-25 minutes. It only takes longer because they don’t know the mechanics and/or there’s poor communication among the team. The console room at the beginning is only a repair bill because the majority if people don’t know how to do it properly and relied on dying on top of the switches.

I been doing frac from day 1 did zillion of dredge (48+) runs , and guess what an avarage run took ? closer to hour dear sir! , finishing dredge in 30min or less requires good CO-OP ( usuely TS) or/and strong setup with well experinced players , this is a rare sight on a LFG team. Hell not once and not twice that i had LFG groups of frac 80 that got closer to 1hour simply because of the lose of time on the CO-OP mechanics…
A change is VERY needed!!! and keep on saying it can be done in 30min is silly…
You can/could finish the whole fractal run in 30min so does it mean all made it? maybe 5% at best with the right fractals…
The fractal is fine. It does not need to be split up. People who know what they’re doing can beat it in about 30 minutes on average.
However, there are a couple of points in this thread that I do agree with to an extent. The respawn timer for the bombs should be reduced. Having a 60 second timer is more reasonable than the 2-3 minutes. By the timer a bomb explodes, and everyone regroups, the bombs would then be ready to be placed again.
The dredge car should stay as I see it more of an endurance challenge than anything else. Adding a progress bar (I don’t remember there being one) may alleviate some of the issues. Shifting the ‘event’ to focus on the dredge car instead of the waves of dredge could be another way to go.
30min avarage? good one… maybe if u go with a premade experinced team on 40+ … as a pug gl doing it alot less then 1h…
They can make it even harder for all i care but all this trash clearing is pointless…
Reduce trash by 50% in all the silly spots where u just “farm” them , reduce clown car by 50% as well , i dont have any issue with buttons bombs etc… there are good tactics for each case… but all this pointless farming btw …. GG
The number of enemies isn’t the only problem with this fractal. At higher difficulty levels, the button room becomes a sort of guaranteed armor repair bill, and that rubs a lot of people the wrong way. The part with the bombs has a similar problem. My suggestion:
Turn off the respawning of every enemy in this fractal.
Well i think turnning of the respawning will hurt the difficulty of the fractal ( it will be little shorter specialy for weaker groups that fail on those parts BUT the long long trash clearing is still there ). I think the mechanics themself are ok for a third fractal.
But its really should be shorter, a good example is the volcanic fractal , its not long but it still counts hard and third tier cuz of its mechanics like the end boss ( fire shaman ).
P.S I forgot to say 1 more thing . Third tier suppose to be the hardest and dredge fractal got some hard mechanics BUT having the need to kill so MANY enemies aint making it harder as much as it makes it just ALOT longer!
Hello guys i sure many of you agree that the dredge fractal is way to long compared to the others, and i opened this thread to disscuss on what can be done for making it shorter.
I been doing fractals from day 1 on many proffesions and on all levels (so i got some clue about the length of things), and well i can still say that dredge is the only fractal ( including the new once ) that can take longer then any dungeon in the game! and this is very Wrong!
Any combination of the other fractals ( full run!) can be finished in a hour ~ while dredge ALONE can take allmost that time even with a premade experinced team and thats far from any other fractal.
My suggestion is to reduce the amount of enemies in that fractal by at least half ( that also goes for the truck with the 1k dredge comming out of it ) this in my opinion will make that fractal alot more balanced compared to the others in the third tier (this really shouldnt take much effort from Anet, only deleting…).
I really hope Anet will have a look on this thread ( i will keep posting about this until they do because its very importent to fix this VERY unbalanced issue ).
If it wasn’t for the dragonite ore I would have at least 2 more ascended weapons. The first time around i caved in and did the horribly boring temple events, jumping from server to server. I think dragonite ore should be rewarded in the daily fractal chests. Or dragonite ore could also be purchased with pristine relics (here, a nice use for all the stacks people have in their banks).
I also don’t think that ascended chests should drop on levels below 30. There has to be an incentive to progress further up (the silly leader boards do not count). People that do daily 40+ not getting a chest month after month should not have to hear about someone with multiple chests who hasn’t even passed level 20…
Actully i agree, this is a nice idea for pristine relics use ! (maybe u should make a post with such header to attract Anet ^^ ) , and about weapon chest well.. honestly i dont know if anet aware of this but its pretty simple to make those ( i made 14 by now , and prolly could make x2 x3 of that if i focused on making those ) so why the drop rate is so low? i think by the time u get to frac 50 the % to drop it should be closer to 10%
First of all i played all proffesions beside engi into the high fractals and i can tell u that any of the classes can be very usefull in fractals!!! I wont start explaining and giving examples because it will be a very long post.
You just need to do some reading learn the benefits of your class make the right build practice it and gg…
But since reflect is importent part then yes u kinda need a guardian/mesmer filler and since some1 has to absorb the dmg/aggro u also need heavy warrior/guardian.
BUT u still got plenty of room for any other class.
It also nice to have a strong aoe filler but the varity of classes for this role is pretty big.
And from scrolling alittle i seen threads about ranger being bad so ill say something at least about this class ^^.
First of all (and thank god to it!) fractals got many boss fights that cant be meleed ( or cant be fully meleed) and there ranged dps classes become handy.
Also ranger gives 10% more dmg to the group which is a strong buff in my book.
And all those fights where u do go melee? ranger got nice melee dps + ability to keep constant fury for the team.
Also having a good ranger on fire shaman fight can make things easier.
Can keep going this way for every class… hope u got the point.
So for conclusion : You can play anything and feel importent ( as long as you control it well ), so just ignore the silly casuals posts on the LFG tool and go do some pew pew.
You dont really need full heavy team… but u do need a good balance for dungeons that needs little more skills then spamming dps on a boss while huging a wall ^^ ( just like any other mmo…)
i can give at least 1 good reason to take any of the proffesions to high fractals .
In fact i would say something like guardian+warrior+mesmer+ heavy aoe + random dps (if no swaping involved in the middle of the run) , which if u noticed leaves spots for any proffesion in the game , GG.
P.S thats the beauty of fractals 3 random zones with allmost no hug wall tactics : )

I understand why they did this.. 80 lvls are just 2 much for new comers and this update makes it alot easier for new players , BUTTTT it really hurt the people that were allready deep into it , ( lvl 80 , more then 1 class on 40-50+ etc… ), only thing i can think of to make some peace with the players is some sort of a reward per each proffesion rised to high fractals, just not something silly ^^ because it will be another slap to the face of the people that are allready sad about all the “time wipe” : X
Hello guys i am playing all the classes at the “endgame” , did high fractals zerk speed runs etc… i love some classes more then the others but engi is a diffrent problem.
At the moment grenade are the strongest “path” for a pve engi and i got no issues with that.
But i find the need to keep ground targeting all the time kinda annoying, not to mention that it hurts the focus ( dodging and stuff ) because some of the attention goes for ground targeting, and cause of it engi is the only class that i keep lonely in the corner.
I know i can just go for some other build , but well its not fun for me playing something and knowing that i aint at 100% contribution for the dungeon run.
I was wondering is there any chance that the auto attack will become automatic ( as in the water combat ) , it will surely make it more fun for many people ; )
Or actully might be even better if some other build will become better !
you know i didnt think about it but if i understand this right , having high agony not needed , so we will be able to use diffrent kind of infusions! for extra dps MF etc… ( just a shame all my amulets are offensive infusion and not utility : X ) without worrying that we lose agony ( cuz rings and backpack will be big source of it )
40-49 has been slightly reduced. 50 is no longer impossible, but now represents the requirement for 50-59. More levels will be made available in the future.
Well from my understanding , with 55 u bearly get any agony dmg.
So if 40-49 got slightly reduced i think hmm 40-45 agony should be enough , and for lvl 50 probebly 50-55~ agony will do ?

Hey i was just wondering guys , will we need more / less agony on the same fractal levels after the update? Or will it stay the same? ( atm 55 agony is more then enough for fractal 48 daily ).
all the people that go for the defense of anet are prolly people that didnt go for high fractals on their alts as well….
stop being so…. , and think how u would feel in our shoes? i lvled 7 alts to high fractal and i sure there are many more that lvled more then 1-2 alts.

yes it can be nice , if they would have warned us about it….
but there are many people like me that levled by now many alts to high fractals ( thats ALOT of game time spent ) , and its a stab in the back for us.
The only way to get to 80 is very simple to never do maul. So even at 80 you never got to see great rewards that he gives. So what are you really loosing an log farm area. and it has been stated rewards for fotm are increasing on order of the dungeon update with champ update it isn’t even as good of a farm spot. Only thing you are losing is the prestige of saying im 80 and that is it.
No, people are losing literally, hundreds of hours of work. This is an insult to one of GW2’s most dedicated playerbases.
If anything, they should be giving people something for each FOTM PR level they are STEALING from everyone.
Most people got to 80 who really wanted to within first 2-3months fotm was out. Anet through removing glitch’s has now made reaching 80 impossible. What is benefit of those hours of work other then prestige of saying you are 80 and farming dense mob spots. Anet is most likely giving you equivalent rewards. So the only thing you are losing is the fact that you can no longer say you are 80. And if you are really a good fotmer you should stay at top of leaderboard and ranking the prestige. Like it or not fotm is considered the endgame of gw2 so the top of this leaderboard will be considered some of the top players of PVE even more then the achievement leaderboard. An the only think you lose is you cant physically say you are 80 for this opportunity. Cry me a rive and cool your head in it.
What about the people that leveled more alts to level 40+ ???? each alt i lvled took me alot of hours, and the gain from it after the update is Nothing, and i know there are really alot of ppl that leveled alts as well…, this is not some cof p1 thing that ppl wont be able to do on 8 proffesiosns daily … this is an effort of endless hours per each alt and i did this on 7…. dunno i just find all of this very wrong.
You cant blame the people for being angry, when so many people get angry it cant be for nothing, in fact i sure u and the other people that dont understand this didnt actully spent as much time as we did… so it easy to say we are wrong

1. This is a game, not a job. If you “WORKED” for it, that is on you.
2. Play the game for fun. If it is no longer fun, don’t play.
3. High level fractals WAS its own reward.
4. The fun you had, you had. No one can take that away from you.
the players are customers that payed for a service, and customers can demend stuff if they aint happy , and the company needs to handle the complains one way or another for making the customers happier , which will result in customers shoping again . GG
I’m one of the players who will be reduced to 30, but I’m okay with it. I’m more interested in actually playing fractals and in them getting expansion and some much, much needed attention, not in being congratulated for things I’ve already done.
That’s wouldn’t be so bad if I had a character at level 49 and she’s being reduced to 30. But having 3 of them up there and 4th on the way is just a slap in the face.
Incorrect, fractal levels are now account bound, all your characters will progress at the same pace. If you weren’t offended by one character being reduced then you aren’t offended.
You logic is flawed. That’s because you don’t even know where I’m coming from having one character…
Having multiple characters past 50 and one almost at 80 this update makes me cry
Only 1 crowd is pleased by this update and it’s not the die hard fractal crowd, almost as if we have been forgotten.
indeed! i got all my alts to fractal 50 just in the hopes of getting a fractal update , and its ironic that this update will destroy my effort ^^
i dont think that anyone with proffesions at fractal 80~ or multi proffesions at 40+ will be ok with this update… all the time we spent…i never complained in the gw2 forum but this just killed me : /
How about the people that instead of going for level 80 , went for level 50 on other alts??
me for example got 7 proffesions on fractal level 50 which all will be reduced to 30 and made acount bound and removed the possibility to do daily 7 times. The time spent for getting this and now removing it so easly…. it hurts very badly !
To assist you in your ventures into the mists, a new agony resist infusion slot has been added to all infused rings and backpacks.
All current infused rings and backpacks will start with a +5 agony resist infusion (this replaces the +5 agony resist that was previously on the item itself).
What does it mean? is it another act to get people angry? ( i got 2 of those backpacks…)
or is it a buff?
Hey i was just wondering are there any people that find such maps missing from this game?
PvP usuely devided into 3 types , the small intense gamestyle aka Arena ( small maps and small amount of players ) , the big map type for siege and huge battles.
But this game really missing the third kind which is the battlegrounds, those maps usuely got around 20-40players in total, and are less intense then arena type and less zerged then WvW as well.
There are very excelent game types on those kind of maps u only need to look at WoW – with its capture the flag (WSG ) and others… those kind of maps gives u a pause btw battles and change the gamestyle needed to some hybrid btw WvW and Arena.
In conclusion its exactly as i said the middle btw those 2 types and i find it VERY missing.

got to love those balance updates, “finish move” on theif and a good balance to warrior to make sure no1 play hammer build again ^^ , no idea what to play now my favorite builds / classes are balanced to death.
Well i read about the plans for the second half of 2013 and implenting better reward system will be nice indeed BUT i didnt see anything about bigger maps , btw the huge WvW and the small sPvP maps we still missing the middle size maps for 10v10 15v15 or even 20v20 games?
I sure its not only me that liked the 1x/2x vs 1x/2x maps in other mmos ( mostly WoW ^^ ) and i think they need to start working on those , there are more then enough small maps by now.
P.S Bigger maps provide you with a more relaxed team based pvp which i really like and which is really needed imo.
Hello first of all i wanna say that i been playing mmo’s for over 10 years alot of this time was spent doing the hardest PVE games had to offer.
I posted a suggestion earlier but now i gonna talk about it in deeply and suggest something that can be achived easier for Anet.
like i said before the ppl that focus hard on pve will find that there is no content which they can do to get stuff that no one else have ( dungeon gear can be easly achived for all by just farming 1 easy path , fractal skins can be gained from even level 20 fractal and so on… ) so in fact a player that plays from the first day many times cant distinguish himself from newer players ( beside his PVE skills which cant be seen visualy ).
MY SUGGESTION : Use the corrent pve content and give it more challanging features with uniqe skins as rewards.
I understand Anet doesnt like the gear scaling tradition but i think its not a problem because from my memorey in other games when i got top gear it wasnt only for doing alot more dmg it was also about looking diffrent and showing other ppl ppl that u achived the hardest content that the game had to offer, which a skin can achive (even without fancy stats).
Ok so in conclusion just a
FEW IDEAS : I seen many skins in Spvp that not usable in PVE maybe those can be used as rewards( for the things i about to offer)?
And about the challanges themself well the must simple thing to do is probebly implent the harder dungeons with a timer mechanic and reward ppl who finish them in a really fast time.
But there are other uniqe things that can be done for example they can implent special achivments on hard boss fights and give skins for clearing them.
lets say in Arah lupicus fight , (just an example) maybe achivment for killing him with all the group staying in melee range ( which makes it challanging ) .
Or can take even easier fight and make it harder for doing achivment like lets say Killing kholer + troll at the same time + avoiding both of their AOE.
Can think of many stuff of that kind for Fractal dungeon but there its more problamatic cuz of the scaling levels but they can implent achivments for highest lvls imo.
so something like killing mossman without getting hit by agony for all the group( his throwing knife skill) on lvl 40+ difficulty ?
and then it will be possible to get a full armor (skin) for finishing all those nasty challanges and feel special about it ^^ ( thats just one idea, there can be many ways to achive that and i sure Anet got enough ppl on the development team to work this out)
In conclusion as u can see there are tons of possibilities and i really hope the right ppl will read this and consider it and if they need more ideas i got plenty of those from my long experince in MMO’s. So thank you for your time reading my article and lets all look into a brighter future in GW2 PVE ; )
Hello i think this game really really needs rewards for the stronger players, at the moment there is NOTHING that makes a player counted as a “hardcore” gw2 player in PVE , all the skins are farmable or randomly rolled in dungeons , i think this is really wrong !!!!!!!
strong players quitting the game all the time because they got nothing challanging to do in PVE + more importent!! they got no gear to show them as superior players ( for reaching fractal 80 for example). Just an example : in wow u got dungeons on timer and the reward for making it on a super fast time is special skin that only ppl who achived that recive(which is very hard) . There can be many ideas for achiving this goal so i ask and pray that you guys work on it because i want stronger PVE’rs to stay in GW2! Including me .
Hello i wanted to suggest a few things . I dont know about other people but it would make me more intrested in spvp if for once i could earn real experince in there ( beside the glory ) so i can level up from spvp just as i do from WvWvW .
Also on the same note a some kind of conection btw pvp and pve could make pvp more fun to me as well . for example getting marks in pvp which u could use in pve as well ?
