There’s a lot of bad math in this thread! I think a lot of people posting might benefit from taking an introductory statistics course. Even if the distribution is not for a binary set of data, the standard deviation can still be calculated. In this case the standard deviation of one trial is not more than 2, and probably closer to 1, meaning that a sample of 2500 has a standard deviation between 1/50 and 2/50. A sample size of 2500 is more than sufficient. OP might want to be more careful in recording his results.

Have you tried a VPN? They can help with latency or sudden lag spikes.
I don’t see how shortening the window between songs has much to do with being good at the game. Even if it were something like 10 seconds that is plenty time for defeated players to rejoin after a song.
I would recommend checking out video reviews and ones specifically tailored to leveling content, etc. Text reviews don’t usually do video games full justice.
I would recommend that you make sure to utilize your dodges on the last snowball part – it can help a lot trying to get to a safe zone and outrun the skritt cannons. Other than that the patterns are fixed so it’s just a matter of practice getting to move quickly and avoid the hazards.
The fall damage is a bug, I remember it happening last year a couple times. Jumping instead of using WASD/moving should help a little I believe.
Someone just showed me the Arah p4 skips. It’s just…wow. Just wow. Epic. I don’t think the devs who made dungeon could ever top themselves.
Arah really is the best jumping puzzle playground. Sadly Anet thinks that invisible walls is an effective solution, when it’s neither effective nor interesting.
This isn’t a problem exclusive to guild wars 2. Unfortunately I think it creates a lot of overhead to have to police the topic title of everything.
I was wondering where my car brake went.
The amount of self-injected bias into each of the topics makes me question if this was a sincere thread about commonly discussed topics or just an overview on your personal opinions.

Another farm will pop up soon enough. This is a simple cycle of death and rebirth for farmable content and nerfs in Guild Wars 2.
- CoF p1
- Queensdale/Frostgorge champ trains
- Cursed Shore farms, all dozens of them
- Snowflakes
- Southsun Cove farm
- Crown pavilion, both iterations
- Aetherblade farm on Scarlet invasions
- Marionette
- Linen farm
- Still in-game: dungeon dailies
And recently silverwastes. The activity that earns the most profit/hour will usually be chosen. Have faith in anet, their track record means another farm will show up soon for open world enthusiasts.
So far I don’t think much can top boss blitz…several people I knew went from being almost new to having a net worth of over 15000 gold in a month.

When prompted to go into The Breach at Indigo Cave, many times people will fall down and die upon contact with the ground where the Silver and Gold bosses are.
I haven’t noticed this at the other forts. It wastes a lot of time having to resurrect people that die on entry.
I believe this is a bug; if it isn’t please let me know how to avoid dying when I go in.
They are plants. What did you expect?
I enjoyed the artwork…..but the last boss fight was imo kinda boring =/. Just felt like a bit timegated because you had to wait for the vortexes and buffs to keep appearing which do a set amount of damage and the boss isn’t deadly at range at all so you can just kite him.
Sorry miku, but no lupi = no approval.
That hunter/crusher kill was kitten sweet, though.
I’m sure he’s waiting until the highly advanced skritt bottle technology is back in business.
What’s the limit on the block list?
There was a certain story step you used to be able to farm for a ridiculous amount of linen repeatedly. I don’t know if it has changed.
One question remains: will we see more of…
ERROR ATTEMPTING TO SELL
Leave it to Anet to avoid the real questions.
Threads like these are why I read the dungeon forum.
Signets are already OP on almost every class and provide passive gameplay. Do we really need to buff them more?
Every class except the elementalist, the class that probably needs it the most.
Virtually all eles I have seen run Signet of Fire in dungeons except for rare circumstances.
PvE is a joke

Lazy DNS servers could also scrap their monlist command…
Except that the monlist command is an ntp (network time protocol) feature, not something that’s part of DNS. Of course, the DNS system has had it share of problems with DDoS attacks as well.
The thing that was so bad about the ntp monlist attack was that it was an Amplified Distributed Denial of Service attack. Meaning that the system initiating the attack only had to send a relative small packet to get the ntp server to respond with much more data, and to a different IP address. Made it very effective.
I had some of that going on on my systems at my house with my ntp servers. Didn’t take me long to notice it and shut if off, though (maybe a couple of hours from the time I first noticed it).
Yea I mispoke :P I meant to draw attention to the NTP servers instead (which aren’t NCSOFT controlled).
Its fake. And you’re giving them attention by linking to it.
NCSoft is actually having datacenter issues, which you could see if you would follow the various twitter accounts of developers and operators.
DDoSers do not cause “hardware failures”.
that explanation makes no sense there is evidence that various servers are going down as they anounce it. You obviously haven’t looked into this more if you think its fake
It is white knight propaganda, ignore it
Lazy DNS servers could also scrap their monlist command…
It’s affecting other NCSOFT games as well, just became unplayable.
The first step for things not being offensive is stop being offended by things.
If you don’t like it, fine. But letting a fantasy setting get to your head that much means you probably need to work on controlling your emotions better.
You’re thread was a regurgitation of many others and happens to have 3 twins on the main page. Excuse us for not taking your imaginary problem more serious when it AND SOLUTIONS have been stated countless times before. IE. You don’t like how others play: find a group who agrees with how you’d like to play. The answers will always be the same when the NON-ISSUE is ALWAYS the SAME. See how that works?
You may think it’s a non-issue, but when I’m constantly having groups fall apart or people attempting to hijack my own party because they can’t handle a player being more than a pixel apart from another, then that’s when it becomes one for me.
I agree. You’re a LFG terrorist, and should be dealt with as such.
Oh look it’s this thread again.
Some of us don’t live on the forums.
Or maybe you could do a quick forum search and find that there’s hundreds of threads on this already in under a minute. But I understand people like to feel special about being an OP :P
Legendaries have gotten significantly more difficult. People who got them last year only had to do about 1/20th of the work that has to be done now. Prices are up ten fold but gold generation and overall drops in game have been cut in half in even the best of circumstances. Not saying if that’s a good or bad thing, but the legendaries are as hard as they are right now because they should feel legendary doesn’t hold much weight for me, considering the majority of legendaries floating around were quite easily made compared to what people venturing out to get them now are faced with.
We just had the crown pavilion patch and you’re defending this statement?
I used to farm with a certain individual who just farming pavilion got enough money for around 9-10 legendaries in a month.
Since there is also an achievement for it the post makes sense to me. I’m close to the 5th one and I get the same AP as someone who made one twice and I also don’t get a title for it.
That makes no sense to me since I invested more time, more gold, mats and what not to get those. So please buff the original achievement and give it also a shiny title.
Thank you
You get two legendary skins, that person gets one.
This happened all the time in the personal story, especially during the Orr part. See: greatest fear plotlines, priory’s plan plotline, etc. Your mentor was an exception.
I understand that you want to provide challenging content, but I feel that I should not -have- to get a portal up to an open-world vista that is locked at the end of a zephyr skill forced jumping puzzle. It would be different if it was, say, a chest— I’d be able to just ignore it then.
And here’s your problem. You don’t “have” to get a portal up to an open-world vista. You don’t “have” to get to the top of the jumping puzzle. Some content is more difficult than others but simply because you can’t do it doesn’t mean all content should be made for the lowest common denominator.
Gee thanks. As a legally blind player, I love being referred to as “the lowest common denominator”. Next time, put some thought into how you phrase things so you don’t come across as quite so much of a jerk.
Anet should not be designing all content of a patch to cater towards blind, motor-impaired people. It sort of makes the content a bit too easy for everyone else…
You might think I’m jerk, but when you start to call for optional content that doesn’t even count towards world completion too hard and need it to be easier when you can clearly just get a portal, it comes off as disrespectful to others who enjoy more challenging content.

I’ve never had this problem with Detha when I didn’t skip stuff and just killed things – Kholer, the gravelings and the oozes.
Although to “fix” the self-imposed bug, pulling oozes to kill Detha while the players stay out of the way and let her die sometimes works.
This bug should certainly be fixed, but if you don’t want Detha to bug in AC path 2, DO THE kitten CONTENT.
“Self-imposed bug.” I like the way you think.
The bug only happens when you skip content. I’ve had an undeniable 100% success rate by killing stuff. So yes, it’s self-imposed.
All bugs I encounter only happen when I start up the game client and log into the game. Ergo, all bugs I encounter are self-imposed.
No wonder why elite wannabe are screwed up when they try larger event. They are truly misguided by this kind of stuff.
That’s an unfair assumption. Even both gw2c and TxS (the 2 main world boss communities in EU) advocate berserker gear for Wurm and PVT for tequatl (vit and toughness being mostly optional, but they help more than precision/ferocity). And neither of these communities would I classify as “elite wannabe.” And even then, most people I talk to agree that vitality and toughness are mostly optional for efficiently killing Tequatl, because you can avoid all of his damage quite easily (jump waves, reflect fingers/mouth, dodge out of AOE damage fields).
As you said yourself, the only use for the new gear setup is really for commander’s that might be distracted coordinating on teamspeak and in chat and need to absolutely not go down, ever.
Final comment: arguing about what is viable is pointless. You can do anything in any gear setup. What matters is efficiency.

The source of this problem is 2 handed weapons. If you could equip an offhand weapon at the same time as a 2 handed weapon, with the offhand weapon simply staying inactive until the main hand slot becomes empty or occupied by a one handed weapon, this wouldn’t be an issue. If you keep your weapons in a specific 20 or so slots, then they will always occupy those 20 slots if the OH weapon stopped getting unequipped by 2h weaps (assuming the prior slots in your inventory are always full, presumably with consumables and the like).
I’m not going to defend Anet (this bug should have been fixed, I agree) but you can easily prevent this bug from occurring by standing in the corner (not the middle) until Detha becomes out of combat (only takes 15 seconds max). Then lure her to start the next event.
None of this seems odd to anyone that there seems to be a pretty obvious divide?
I think I had a startling revelation. The more time you play per week, the more exotics you will get. Some people play more than others or spend their time that would result in a greater quantity of loot so they get more.
No. People do not need to spend 1000g+ on another full set of ascended weapons/armor (up to 2000g+ if you spend on infusions) to get “optimal” stats.
Create variety through skills/traits, not through stats on gear.
What we need is harder dungeons, not changes that make them 3x easier like what happened with ferocity and low-level dungeons.

One of the reasons they cited prior to launch for intentionally not having direct trading was to cut down on scamming. Something that was pretty rampant (at times) in GW1. Considering the number of things that share the same icon image in this game, it would be an even bigger nightmare here.
Yes, some people are going to jump on this as point out that you should pay attention to what’s being traded, and I don’t disagree. However, that’s not going to stop the support tickets about being scammed from rolling in adding more to their workload.
Only idiots got scammed. Just sayin.
No – there was a flaw in the system whereby you could actually make it seem like you were trading and it taken w/o any remuneration. This went on for more than 1 year, with this flaw.
Saying it was just idiots, is condescending and not helpful to the discussion what so ever.
Tools are there to be used, and if people aren’t smart enough to use them properly then that is their fault. Your comparison to GW1 is a false comparison because you assume that the same “flaw” (poor system design) would be present in a GW2 version if it were to be built. Even if they claim it’s to reduce scamming, a p2p trade system probably wouldn’t ever be implemented anyway due to RMT issues and less gold sinks (it’s intended for you to have to trade the item on the TP).
Constant lag/disconnects right before reset. Happens at other times too but it’s not nearly as bad as around reset time. I d/c’d 20 times in the past hour.
c) MAKE A DECENT REWARD SYSTEM kitten .
aten pls deliver
First part with the crystals in Dry Top is a lag test. If you have skill delay > 0.5s, you fail (aspects will ensure that) and should exit the map.
You can always create your own guild and enforce the rules among your own members. I’ve seen this hardcore death style option in other games and it’s funny. Didn’t really add anything to the challenge but people liked to play it as an ego boost as if it took them more skill just to use the cheesiest/lowest risk tactics to get as far into the game as they could.
I can’t stand guilds and I will explain why. I like to play at my own pace. Like in real life, I don’t really get along with others, so joining a guild for me just never works. I’ve dropped all the other mmo’s I was playing because of my inability to play well with others.
I’m not sure an MMO is exactly a good choice for you then….there’s lots of single player games out of there. One of the biggest features of an MMO is playing with, against or alongside other people.
There’s a lot of threads on this already. Nice find though ^^
Erm, 400 crafting is dirt cheap to level up, I would have thought the majority of the playerbase has at least 400 in all professions by now…
Is this some sort of trick to try to get the price of linen to increase even more?
