I would like to ask what are the statistics on rewards in the following:
Fractal Level 30 to 50.
Level 60 to 80 Dungeons.
World Bosses on the lvl 60 and up Maps.
I have observed that even though there is a stated RNG, how is it that high level fractals do not yield high level rewards?
An example is the rate in which ascended rings, armor chests, skins and so on do not yield as much. This has been a long running occurence which at times can be surprising for those who do these runs on a daily basis.
Particularly Fractals from 30 and up. I had asked my friends to run a tally on how often any of them get any of the more rewarding items. Here is what we have noticed over a period of 5 days running level 49. Note that rewards considered “rewarding” are ascended items, fractal weapon skins. Considering that ascended rings are rewarding even though many who run alot of fractals accumulate rings this is still by opinion a “reward”.
Day 1 Fractal 48
Player #1 None
Player #2 None
Player #3 Ascended Ring
Player #4 None
Player #5 Ascended Ring Infused
Day 2 Fractal 48
Player #1 Ascended Ring
Player #2 Ascended Armor
Player #3 None
Player #4 None
Player #5 None
Day 3 Fractal 48
Player #1 None
Player #2 Ascended Ring
Player #3 None
Player #4 None
Player #5 None
Day 4 Fractal 48
Player #1 None
Player #2 Ascended Armor
Player #3 None
Player #4 None
Player #5 None
Day 5 Fractal 48
Player #1 Ascended Ring Infused
Player #2 Ascended Ring Infused
Player #3 None
Player #4 None
Player #5 None
These players are itemized specifically and not alternately random listed. Also, each of these players are at Fractal Reward Level 48 and above.
I would like an opinion as to whether this is worthwhile or if it requires more days of fractals to really validate the current reward system.
If in fact this is an isolated “bad Week” I am currently in the process of doing a calculation over a period of 3 weeks.
It is just in my opinion that every player should be rewarded at higher level fractals. And when I say rewarded I mean a considerably more exceptional reward
This opinion applies to dungeons too.

I would like to know why I my game client consistently crashes at Fort Salma during the cinematic cutscene where the large thrasher bursts up from the ground right after doing the arrow carts killing the mobs
Greetings Everyone!
Cryptic Syndicate is recruiting in Tarnished Coast.
We are a PvE Guild first, but we also try our hand at WvW and PvP. As a Guild we are friendly and always willing to help to the best of our abilities. We call out and encourage fellow guildmates to take on world bosses, temples and whatever we can to collect what we need for each individuals needs. We run dungeons whenever possible and when time allows. As a guild member, you must not be shy to guild chat if you have questions, or need assistance in something you need help with.
Our goals are simple, we want to make our characters the best in your preferred gear stats and looks, we are not professional killers, but we are effective players.
You can whisper me or any fellow guildmate with our tag (CrSy) if you have any questions or would like to join.
Our active members are from all around the world and although we have many different time schedules, we meet and learn to know each other under one time, guild wars time. We are a friendly guild and we would want mature and like minded people with no drama and awesome personalities.

There is an issue I would like to raise, which I would hope can be resolved.
Recently, a friend joined a party to do a Fractal of the Mist Level 20. At the last fractal when the main boss was defeated, my friend was immediately kicked from party.
I had asked what led to this action, and he did not know either. He had whispered some of the party members about why this happened, and one responded only with " ; )". Then he was promptly blocked which in turn he was not able to ask what happened.
It is my opinion that this action was uncalled for and very rude, as he had done his part in the party to the success of the fractal.
There should be measures taken to prevent such an action of kicking a party member at the last succession of a fractal preventing any from receiving their fractal rewards and fractal chests.
yes please.. unwanted rings taking up space..could destroy but rings should have value, especially when earned from doing loads of fractals..
Play with the Traits a bit..you will be in for a surprise =)
I play a D/D SB Condition Thief.. lots of dodge, decent stealth, nice and healthy.
It’s not the best..but it’s really fun.
agreed
-seems i couldn’t just type agreed, because the message body length must at least be 15-
*solved
The Aether Shortbow effect when on the back of a character is a bit offset
the center part of the bow (middle) is not aligned at the 5 o’clock position of the backpiece.
could that be corrected?
it is a sound suggestion. and i like it..but just saying that currently, the loot is a joke
i would enjoy that…problem is, i probably keep doing it
Teq loot is still a joke.
Ever buy 100 of something from an NPC?
How about 250?
Is your mouse clicker worn out from all that clicking?
Wouldn’t it be nice to have an way to buy or open something by volume?
*buy x amount (enter number)
Longer mouse life and preventative surgery for your index finger
To ensure no accidental purchase of an obscene amount of Ice Runestones maybe a confirmation prompt (e.g. Are you sure you wanna blow 199 gold on that?)
Introduce an invading race that has not been seen on Tyria…Something like those Illithids or octopus headed humanoids. Make em nasty.
If not that, then something totally alien to Tyria. Their motivation, not to control the world, just simply destroy it. Perhaps to pave the way for a dimensional highway…idk.
Make it in such a way that even aggro mobs would attack it, the same way aggro mobs kill bunnies. But these bunnies bite back and annihilate tyria mobs. To show how truly despised this race is and how it is recognized even by the residing evils of Tyria. They should be truly unnatural and unaccepted by every living and undead force in GW2.
and once in a while, let these most hated creatures intrude on wvw. as a means to reset wvw. Make these creatures take keeps and towers and never need camps because of their unnatural ways of establishing their own defensive perimeters.
yeah! make em even more nasty.
make everyone angry!
Please make this happen
it is obvious I do not play Ranger or I likely have detailed the ranger too.
Player Character.9467:
You clearly don’t play the other classes, the other bows don’t work on walls either.
—Yet NPC Archers can…odd isn’kitten
Thank you.
Kill the timer..what he said..
A success rate would be higher, but it would also allow the developers to analyze and establish a reasonable timer in the near future. They can factor in number of participants in the Teq Event and average how much damage is given to Teq to reach each phase. But, this time they would get to see it from every player’s perspective and not from their beta testers who tried Teq out. From this analysis, they can then apply a variety of combat phase mechanics to the other world bosses.
Jormag was a good template to start with. Teq seemed over the top with a low timer compared to Jormag. especially with the overflow issues. Timers on the other world bosses are good. But I suspect that was just to pad the difficulty without making new attack phases for those bosses.
If you’re not utilizing steal during combat, you’re not playing the class mechanics, and I daresay you’re missing out on a key element of the class. Also, how is scorpion wire a pre-combat tool? It’s an interrupt and a gap-closer.
an interrupt to attack, a gap closer to attack…pre-combat.
I am still referring to the 1 attack in comparison to ranger shortbow, guardian scepter and so on..
Also 1 attack on the wall in wvw doesn’t work properly compared to the other classes.
I still refer to the one fact that a shortbow 1 attack is still short ranged compared to rangers, guardians with scepter, mesmer great sword..
(edited by LaoShin.2986)
Put a ranger shortbow to it’s farthest 1 attack range to a target in LA, have a thief shortbow 1 attack next to it (equal distance from target like the ranger)..you will see the difference…Magische 1200 range scorpion wire 1500 range steal, are those attack abilities?..those are pre-combat tools unless you trait mug on steal..i’m really just looking at the 1 attack
I noticed that condition build players have a limited cap in doing damage against high hp mobs.
an example of this is the bleed damage.
As soon as a mob with extremely high hp gets a maximum stack of 25 bleeds. That’s all there is. Bleed builds, no longer contribute anything in regards to damage and so become pointless unless a second is ticked off from the stack..but then that’s all there is. When player A with decent condition damage applies bleed to a mob then player B with far more superior condition damage adds to it, what really happens? Is player A’s damage no longer applicable and B’s condition damage the over stack? It would make only that 1 specific bleed build the main contributor to combat. And that in itself points to the simple fact that condition is unusable.
Dungeons, Fractals and other events with high hp mobs are no longer viable to the gaming environment of these party required instances.
Could someone from ANET please explain as to why it seems only Crit builds are viable for events? If it becomes a Crit-centric gaming experience, then there would seem to be no variety and it really should be improved upon.
It is unusual and really makes absolutely no sense that a Thief’s shortbow range is shorter than that of any other class that uses the shortbow.
Put the range back to equal distance as other shortbow using classes. I noticed that with my thief’s 1 attack on a shortbow, I have to get closer to the target while another class using a shortbow (and I verified that this ranger was using a shortbow) was further behind me.
Put it back. I think many shortbow thiefs would appreciate it. Just the regular 1 attack range please.
I am confused about the efficiency of condition stacks particularly against high hp mobs.
I am not sure how to explain it, so I will just describe a scenario and as to why this confuses me:
A 5 man party takes on a heavy hp mob champion. of the 5, 4 are condition (bleed/poison) build necros or thieves or engineers. The party essentially attacks the champion and its condition stack in bleeds is 25.
thief 1 deals w in bleed damage per tick
necro 2 deals x in bleed damage per tick
engineer 3 deals y in bleed damage per tick
thief 2 deals z in bleed damage per tick
Considering that the bleed stack is at 25, and that is contributed by the 4 in party.
What amount of damage is tracked, or is it tracked to the last hit
Is the bleed condition effectively a single amount of damage even though multiple attackers may contribute w,x,y,z bleed damage when topped out at 25 stacks?
Another scenario is in if 4 players are each able to dish out over 15 stacks of bleed in their cycled attacks, and considering that the bleed stack caps at 25..what happens and is the excess omitted?
Please explain.
The explanation will likely change or solidify a bleed build player’s decision in play style and preference.
Got clipped by a mob in Cursed Shore..ended up in combat speed..lost my patience, turned around and killed it..got an unidentified dye from it..opened it..Abyss Dye..
combat speed+impatience+stupid luck=abyss dye.
Make do with flawed mechanics until they realize they could fix it to prevent dumb luck from happening.
Perhaps warrior needs better players?
I fully support this.. I’m not colorblind, but sometimes overlapping aoe circles can overwhelm enemy circles..
I need help dealing with a Thief…….he hit me with 7k something and another 8k something.. I probably should have moved…yeah maybe a dodge away from something or other..I asked for some advice and everyone said “keep practicing”..so I did…now alot of Thieves are dying and they need help… btw check out some youtube videos on some of these awesome mesmers and other classes..they all rock!
I have seen insanely great gamers in the following classes:
Engineers
Guardians
Warriors
Elementalists
Mesmers
Necromancers
Thief
Rangers
All great, all very experienced.
I’m pretty sure they win some and lose some just like everyone else. I don’t know how anything could be overpowered, and from reading a variety of posts on this forum, it would seem that there is always a way to outclass another class.
Does it matter? It would probably be best to just play and enjoy the game. Complaints should be about something that no one has a solution to.
I’m not very good with any of my characters, but I do my best to adjust. There doesn’t seem to be a need to complain if I can’t take out a D/P Thief, if I’ve seen others handle them easily, then I should learn from that and adjust accordingly.
The topic just pointed out an understanding, and that is great.
Play On!!
To be cruel, instead of burning or burying, the effect could be the map would be clear like a “Hide All Players/Player Names” and the dead player would only see a complete Keep or Tower (if they died in or near one) they would not be able to see anything (Not even NPC’s or Mobs)..all they would see is the loot bags they did not get when they died.
Call it “Displaced Soul”
In the past month, I and likely many others have been experiencing a problem with purchasing gems. Here is the usual scenario:
Day 1: Purchase X amount of gems and decide to purchase Y amount of gems hours later. Y amount of gems payment is not accepted. I assume that maybe I do not have enough to buy Y amount (even though I verified with my account that I do). I then proceed to purchase a lesser amount Z. Z is a no go.
I email the issue and shortly after a reply is given that there is some sort of security measure keeping me from purchasing, but I’m given the green light to try again.
Day 2: I am able to purchase Y amount again. I then proceed to try again a few hours later and again payment is not accepted.
Could you put an article or response as to how to go about gem purchasing to avoid this problem, and perhaps an explanation as to what is going on so that some of us can have a better understanding as to why this happens.
It is odd to think that maybe Anet does not want my money….that would be a first. =)
Hi!
Would you be able to share your solution? I recently got a Steelseries mouse and I would like to know how you got yours to work properly with GW2
umm..dunno..just followed what Sigil of Fire does..is all
Sigil of Fire says “30% chance on critical hit to do this and that”, not “+30% chance to crit”.
ok cool
So, what you are saying is “don’t make fractals worth doing”?
Please make Fractals of the Mist boss rewards worthwhile.
Doing Dredge, Harpies, Grawl, Colossus should amount to better Chest Rewards.
It seems only Jade Maw has something close to worthwhile.
Seriously make the chest have rare to exotic loot consistently for everyone. Some of these things will make players doing fractals not just quit or re-roll a stage.
At higher levels make it consistent with rewards that say “since you managed to get here without your party rage quitting, here have a rare/exotic”…
Come on!
umm..dunno..just followed what Sigil of Fire does..is all
Superior Sigil of the Mind
+30 Crit Chance
Triggers Confusion AoE (2 seconds) 10 second cooldown
Superior Sigil of the Body
30 Crit Chance
Triggers Strength in Numbers (500 to Vitality +500 to Toughness for 2 seconds) 30 second cooldown
Superior Sigil of the Soul
Retaliation 2 seconds. Stability 4 seconds. Movement Speed 6 seconds when you swap to this weapon on combat.

ANET…
Would it be possible to have options to modify the mouse pointer?
The current mouse pointer is at times easy to lose, especially in situations where there is a lot of visual actions. Give us an option to make the pointer look different like circular target points or cross hair points, and color options for the pointers as it would really be useful. Is there a hot-key that would allow a player to reposition the mouse pointer to the default center to allow quicker readjustments for targeting?.
Please make this a possibility. I’m sure it would help players
It is very upsetting that there is no mention of bacon in this discussion of sammiches..
It sure would be nice to have more Armor and Weapon looks..
For example, Daggers. Could you make discs like the ones on Tron 2©.
The look and animation on any class would look really awesome.
acquiring currency as the only method to getting drops perpetuates the grind. Is this really what ANet wants to encourage?
I would have hoped that ANet would promote the concept of having a variety of ways to do something so that it wouldn’t have players resorting to only one way. I’m pretty sure that would start to look like work.
I also considered that if it was the one way to get lodestones, wouldn’t the supply/demand start to get unbalanced and then likely get all out of proportion such as when certain items started to get ridiculously high in cost?
I would think that should not be the case of an environment where you are supposedly able to obtain materials in the GW2 world. Unlike exotic gear or weapons which obviously have to be made, materials should be rare but not to the point in which it starts looking like work.
Please improve the drop rates of tier 6 items and cores/lodestones.
I had just spent the past 5 days (4 hours each day ) doing Fractals ranging from level 10 to 34
In that amount of time I netted 1 Core.. Yes, exactly 1 Core . Is this unusual?
I used the gw2 wiki to locate areas where I could farm on my own for at least cores if not lodestones.
I still got nothing. even just t5 material..no such luck.
In response to Kaimick,
I apologize if there was anything implying that ANet lied to me..I am not sure if I really stated that. I’m pretty sure I indicated that the Grind was specific to players who had specific goals..such as Legendary gear.
I am certain my statement was not saying anything about attaining gear that gives an advantage to those who obtain it through the Grind.
When ArenaNet launched GuildWars2, the highlights of the game was in the major differences in features compared to most MMOs.
A big change that had been stressed was that GuildWars2 would not have the “Grind” that majority of MMOs had. This was the one statement that may have gotten our attention the most.
But, it seems, that from a lot of what I see in forums and on youtube is that it is in essence still much a Grind. Perhaps ANet could clarify that it is an MMO that differs from others because the Grind only affects players with specific goals like acquiring Legendary Weapons.
I should note that perhaps this was not the case when GW2 first came out, and everything just seemed to be easier to obtain. Precursor item costs were in the 2 digit gold range and perhaps in the early stages of launch precursors were not as difficult to obtain in drop/mystic forge or whatever is claimed to have the means of acquiring it.
It may be stated that ANet has taken steps to preventing the Grind by establishing a diminishing return on much of the rewards when achieving an event or dungeon. With much content available it is possible that there is so much of other things to do, that there really is no need to Grind. Please note that as far as I’ve observed, to obtain certain items, it is necessary to repeatedly go through a specific area and repeatedly kill things in that area over an impressive amount of time. This, in my opinion, looks like a Grind to me.
I would like to know, if there would be steps taken, to fix this. So far, the fixes still seem to encourage the Grind.
Any suggestions?
