Hey guys, i need advice. Im running full zerker gear with 2 cavlalier trinkets (for the toughness boost). I cant decide with which food to use in WvW as i do a lot of solo roaming. I run with GS/Hammer, Hoelbruk runes and my y trait set up is 0-0-6-2-6 (Leg specialist helps a lot for 1vx fights) and im running potent sharpening stones.

My options are:

Mango pie: 85 hp per sec + 70 Vitality
Loaf of Omnonberry bread: 100 Vit + 70 Toughness
Bowl of Poultry and Leek Soup: -36% condi duration + 60 Vitality

Stats with the mango pie or leek soup look to be 21, 344 hp/21 224hp , 2433 power, 2913 toughness,
Stats with the Omnonberry bread look to be 21, 653 hp, 2445 power, 2983 toughness.

Crit dmg and crit chance are all the same ofcourse.

My question is, which of these foods give me the best survivability in 1v1/1v2 fights? Iv’e tested them and cant really decide because of the different duels iv’e encountered. What do you guys think?

Hey guys, so i have 5 pieces of exotic armor that is soulbound. Inside the armor i have strength runes and i have a black lion chest kit. What is utter bs is i cant salvage this armor to get the runes out, I cant sell it (obv), and i cant even throw the kitten things in the mystic toilet. What kind of god forsaken armor has ANET decided to troll us with that wont allow the armor to be salvaged or thrown in the mystic toilet? I honestly dont remember where i got it from (WvW, karma etc). And yes it is transmuted, but other transmuted armor i got i can salvage.

Hey guys, i really need your expertise on this topic. So i have 200g saved up, my armor smithing is 400 and i read on gw2crafts.net that it will take me 52g to get it to 500. My question to you is, how much will it cost me in gold to craft the ascended leggings (heavy) and ascended chest (heavy)? Will 200g be enough to get me to 500 and get those two pieces? After my login rewards i will have the following prerequisites, based on these prerequisites can someone please tell me how i fare on crafting these two pieces:

10 laurals without login reward, 30 if i choose the laural box.
50 skill points on main, 100 on my alt’s
200g
60k Karma
1 lesser vision crystal
100 obsidian shards
100 globs of dark matter
1000+ Emp frags, bloodstone dust, dragonite ore
If i choose the ascended box from the login reward ill have the vision crystal and 1 or 2 bolt of damask.

Iv’e been looking around and i cant find a good answer as to the cost im gonna be spending on these two ascended pieces, do you guys think 200g and the other prerequisites i have will be enough?

Hi all, can anyone tell me why the Meta GS/Hammer Roaming build uses Melandru runes instead of Hoelbrak?

I see that the Meta GS, Axe/Shield use Hoelbrak. On paper im trying to see why you would want the extra tougness and stun reduction rather than power and might duration for a roaming build.

My war is almost at level 80 and im planning to buy the exotic armor set and runes for WvW. The benefit of getting Hoelbrak is that i can also use it in PVE until i get the gold for a separate set of armor.

Before i was running Hoel with axe/shield gs… mind you the dmg was great, but it was hard to face people 1v2/1v3. I switched up my play style to Ham/Gs with melandru and i am now dominating 1v2/1v3. Simply put, if you’re an expert in evading attacks and using your skills perfectly, go Hoelbrak, but if you want more survivability than go melandru. Personally, there wasnt a HUGE dmg decrease… i love the melandru better.

We’ll see, i doubt they ll release anything after today, it will be a while.

Am i missing something or did we not get any updates on the gemstore for new years day? Is it still way to early or is nothing happening. Reason im asking is because i have gems saved up, i was hoping to buy the grenth hood but since nothing is out i am thinking of exchanging the gems for gold. Should i wait?

Iv’e spoken to quite a few seasoned players who told me they think Anet will just remove the current kittenty sale items and replace it with some more.

They put three crappy things on sale, doubt they ll release anything else and if so it will probably be three more crappy items. We got shafted on Christmas and looks like new years it will be the same.

So i recently came back to the game after a month long break and unfortunetly i have yet to see any new “exciting” skins or outfits on the gem store. I was hoping the Grenth hood would return but looks like it wont. My quesyion is this, is there any upcoming sales/skin releases that Anet will release on the 31st? What do you guys think?

The problem is that a majority of the time, the game matches top ranked players against low ranked players. Another issue is that games sometimes end up with 4v5 at the start of a match, an easy solution to this would be adding a 30 second que time to find a 5th player to join, or simply kicking a player from the other team. It’s been like this for quite some time.

Don’t even need to explain why, most of the veterans in the Mists know what i am talking about…*cough matchmaking and Anet should have fixed these problems long ago.

Never will i end up in the solo arena’s. Complete mockery.

I play WvW 90% of my time. Thing is, the general level of opponents (and allies) in WvW is much lower then in PvP. However, this gets countered by sheer numbers. Fighting outnumbered fights is a lot of fun.

Don’t expect WvW to be clear of condispecs though. If anything, conditions are more present in roaming, as they are generally easy to play effectively and very rewarding. Some condition specs make outnumbered fighting seem trivial (PU condi mesmer, engineer, p/d thief). This is the reason a lot of warriors in WvW stack Dogged March with -condi duration food and Hoelbrak/Melandru.

I’d play more PvP if they introduced more diverse playing modes. The node-sitting style of PvP gets old IMO. Thing is, it is probably the only reason warriors exist in PvP right now, as longbow is such an effective point-holding weapon.

I agree on the PvP part, its just getting repetitive, i am thinking of making the transition to WvW but the thing that gets me is the hours spent on simply running just to find someone to kill, that and the huge lag issue that everyone apparently experiences in WvW.

Hey guys, so i have been heavily invested in pvp for over a month now and i have leveled my warrior this way all the way to 60. I am just trying to gather some opinions on what the majority of you seem to be having more fun playing, PvP or WvW? I noticed that we seem to get trolled by condi spec’s in the PvP realm whereas iv’e been hearing rumors that it is much more fun to play a warrior in WvW. So what do you guys think, or more specifically, what do you guys prefer playing as a warrior and why?

Hey guys, can someone tell me what is the fastest way of farming karma is? Or the fastest Karma train? I tried EOTM and did not like it whatsoever, we kept running and we kept getting murdered by the other team even with a large group, it was so annoying.

I have actually been using a gs/lb build…..and let me tell you, after a couple days practice im murdering everyone. I have gotten used to this so called “non viable” to the point where i am taking out all classes 1v1 and even some 2v1.

The build i am running cleanses all conditions, has decent sustain and decent damage. kitten , im sticking to this over hambow.

gs/hammer, 1st of all, you can’t go ptv means you are more squishy. or if you go ptv, your greatsword will do close to really no damage and only used to run. and you will miss all the might you can stack with fire field, which will bring a lot of damage and condition damage.

so you either go zerker or celestial.

here you have it, basically you maintain condition pressure through swap sigils and interrupt and still do decent direct damage with 50 crit chance and sigil of intelligence and have a decent amount of dodging through sigil energy, WW and build momentum.

So much negativity.

With GS and Hammer in pvp, you might feel more of a buff than a nerf. Just that you need to be more careful. If you are a good player to begin with it, you should have no problem.

There were no change on Rush, Savage leap, bull’s charge, if you can hit with them before, you can hit with them today.

Adrenaline lost on miss is a nerf. It just means you need to be more careful. But if you are in the thick of the battle, you shouldn’t have any Adrenaline problems. The only real nerf I felt is that it is impossible to start combat with full adrenaline.

GS f1 is a huge buff. Yes it is useless in pve, but in pvp it is used, and it is awesome. It only takes 1 bar to do full damage. Hammer f1 (or bull charge) -> 100b -> cancel into GS f1 works well.

Ignore this guy, he has no clue wth hes talking about. ANET has murdered this class to the point of leaving us with only hambow as the only viable option in PVP. GS f1 has been buffed SLIGHTLY.. where you’re getting this “Huge buff” is beyond me, it puts out horrible damage, you might as well switch to LB and use f1. Bulls charge, Bola’s and Rush all have bug/glitch problems, they are so severe, people can’t use their builds anymore.

Hambow is the only build i know of that is useful in pvp. The only thing we still have is our mobility, thank goodness for that.

I have played both characters, in pvp and pve and i must say the warrior is simple and super fun, same as the ranger. Personally i would go for the warrior, the class is just great… but if you’re looking for more of a ranged sort of feel, then you already know my answer.

Hey guys, so i have a couple gems saved up and over 100g, i am just wondering, i kind of want to get a chaos weapon skin but im also debating on saving my gold in order to buy something from the gem store. ATM i dont like any of the outfits/skins, do you guys think its worth holding onto all the gold for the upcoming skins? Or should i just buy a chaos weapon skin? Opinions?

Hey guys, so i have 40 laurels just sitting there, i am at the point of my gaming experience where i can finally call my “end game” and i am strictly focusing on tpvp/spvp. I have absolutely no use for them, not making any legendaries or ascended pieces… my question is this, what is the best possible way to turn these laurels into straight gold. If you know someone who has the game also, you can copy there GW2 folder to an external storage device, then when you copy it over, delete the local.dat file in there, so that it doesn’t hold the settings from there system, and run it, the game will update the dat file as needed, and recreate the local.dat file,

Its great the way the Anet team made this game all in 1 file its far easier to back it up etc.

Hey guys, so i got a new comp and i wanna put gw2 on it, however, i remember the harsh and brutal download/installation process and i just cant bare it. It took me probably 8 hours to install everything and this was like 7 months ago, i cant imagine how long it will take to install now. Is there any other way to install or even update everything quicker ?

It mainly relies on rune changes. I have not done any looking into the new runes, so I couldn’t tell you. The build is sound hit it relies on your ability to play the build well. Gals to have you back in the thief community

Whats a good substitute for the traveler runes then? And will i need to change anything else if i take out the traveler? Im just not that down to spend 60g on runes that can be substituted for something else.

I play an AHEM guardian (Empowering Might and Altuistic healing)

So, I use a greatsword since it gives me a lot of fast attacks that, with my full knight’s gear, crits a LOT.

I recently talked my girlfriend into trying out guardian, and it turns out she really loves it. However, since she fell in love with Hammer, I had to figure out a good way to make a build for hammer that would work.

If you’re up to trying meditations, full soldiers gear with this build is even tanky-er than my AHEM build.

Hey guys so i need some advice, atm im running an AH shout build with clerics gear, trinkets, soldier runes and azurite jewels. I find that this build is good but i still die fairly quickly in wvw. My question is this, for wvw, would it be a better option to switch to soldier gear and soldier trinkets and keep the soldier runes or stick to my clerics. Since it wont really matter what i go for in pve, bosses can one shot you regardless, im thinking soldier gear might be better. If i stack on a huge amount of vitality instead of healing power would that make me harder to kill in wvw? And possobly even pve? What do you guys think?

P.s i use hammer and sword focus but i do also have gs.

Hey guys so i have like 110g saved up and im planning on leaving the game for a couple months starting april 10th and coming back later on. My qustion is this, should i leave my gold as is? Invest it and trade it in for gems in the hopes of getting more gold when i return (currency exchange) or buy a lot of rares and forge them in the hopes of getting a precursor? My goal here is to profit some way… Any suggestions?

Hey guys, so like everyone else, i spent my hard earned money to buy a phalanx skin and since ANET clearly only care about profits they only let you use the skin once either on pve or pvp. I used my phalanx skin on pve and im just wondering, is it possible to somehow transfer the skin into pvp for my other class ? (Through transmutation crystals or something) or did ANET also make this a dead end?

Hey guys, so recently (passed 2 weeks) iv’e been experiencing some serious lag issues/skipping, improper skill timing in WvW. Outside of WvW everything is fine, i run through the city using my skills and there is no lag or issues with skipping. When i enter WvW and start roaming on my own and eventually start fighting someone the lag begins and my skills miss, skills dont work in time and the players appear to skip. My laptop is an ASUS n56v, geforce 650m i7 2.4ghz. Its 2 years old and about 4 weeks ago i had it returned to me from ASUS repair. They replaced the dc jack, motherboard and holders. I don’t know whats wrong, my internet seems to be fine, i cleaned out my registry, made sure nothing big was running in the background and more. This only started happening like 2 weeks ago so im not sure whats up. My drivers are fully updated and iv’e been using the same video settings since i got the game 9 months ago.

Your really asking for two separate things. I have seen builds that will give near 4k armor 2k power 20-25k hp. It does great at surviving but that’s about it. Most “unkillable” builds on guardian will lack the pressure and burst you are asking for.

Ok to make it more clear, i need a build made for roaming where ill be very hard to kill, and iv’e noticed that i use my skills a lot (condition damage) so i might factor that in also.

Completely agree… I mean what do they have to lose by adding a couple more skins… It will only give the customer more options.

Hey guys, so i am thinking of re doing my whole build for WvW, can someone please make me a build which includes traits, gear, food etx (exotic only because i only have 40g to spend). Ive read that healway builds are the best for guardians. My goal in WvW is to roam solo and even in small 2-4 groups. I want to be unkillable but also be able to take my oppponent down. I saw tapdatmouse’s youtube video for his healway dps build but wasnt sure if it was suited for me. If possible, id like to have hammer on this build, but if having a hammer will take away being more tanky and unkillable then id rather not have it. Thanks guys, hope you can show me something good. Hey guys… so this has been on my mind but, do you ever wish you could sell your used skins back on the TP? I have like 5-6 super skins and a wind catcher skin i don’t use and i would profit like 300-450g if i sold them. I know you can make them account bound but the thought of those skins just sitting there forever without me being able to sell them or even give them out to someone drives me crazy…. what does everyone else think?

Pick up a laptop cooling pad. I think Xigmatek makes a decent looking steel mesh one, and Xigmatek fans have done great for me in the past as well in regards to their HSFs.

2 final questions, how do i tell what my min or max fan speed is or whether my fan is even hitting 100 %? And 2, how effective are cooling pads for keeping the laptop cool while gaming and lowering cpu/gpu temps ?
