So why did a dev on reddit (had a dev tag) say 1st patch of the month, I cant find the thread for the love of me.
This once again has backfired and makes you guys look bad.
One sad player here. Please ANET please fix all these bugs that is abound in game. Also get your staff on the same table so they don’t run their mouths when they shouldn’t
I’m a huge ranger fan since guild wars, for the shouts on the ranger I’ve always seen them as a selfish shout, I’ve always thought shouts could be re-worked as a form of pet management. This is my idea borrowing from Guild Wars.
1: Call of Protection, Shout. For 60 seconds, your animal companion has a base damage reduction to all forms of damage.Recharge 60 seconds if traited it’d be less. Nothing crazy maybe 25% damage reduction.
2: Predatory Bond, Shout. For 20 seconds, your animal companion attacks 25% faster and heals you. Recharge 40 seconds if traited will be less.
3: Symbiotic Bond, Shout. For 10 seconds, your animal companion gains regenaration and half of all damage dealt to your animal companion is redirected to you. If you take damage greater then 10% of your health you gain regeneration and protection for 5 seconds. Recharge 20 seconds can be less if traited.
The ranger elite shout is fine even though it should of stayed as rampage as one, the shout heal we heal as one, just doesn’t feel right you buffed it too much on sept 29th, then you demolished it a day later because of that, you guys where too heavy handed on that one yes 100% up time on quickness was bad.
My idea on We heal as one is like so;
Initial heal Healing: 5,520 for you and your pet
Heal yourself and your pet, your pet steals health when ever it attacks. You and your companion are both healed whilst your pet is attacking, this lasts for 10 seconds, (like siphon health). Negated if your pet is dead.
If your pet is dead you revive him/her instead of the heal yourself and pet portion of the shout. Recharge 20 seconds activation instant.
These will be overpowered but I’m not a balancing kind of person hence why I said these was selfish in a kind of way
Bug not fixed; I’ve re-done the patch and I’ve just logged on to all my alt toons for crafting purposes and I’ve gotten the daily rewards (I was daft enough to accept all).
Am i going to get banned now ? Should I contact support? I have made an ingame bu report for this .

I’m like 90% sure that HoT will remove the last few remnants of underwater content.
It has been removed from PvP, WvW, all starting zones, and a few mid level zones already. Additionally underwater weapons have not been added to weapon sets for over a year now.
The only thing left is the last few mid to high level zones that still contain some water. These will be drained, frozen, or just removed. I am not, however, sure of what they will do with HotW or the underwater fractal. The fractal they might just remove, but I can’t see them removing an entire dungeon without a pretty big community backlash, unless they add in new dungeons as well.
Have you had a bump on the head?
Anet will never remove under water content in (core) PVE what so ever. At this moment in time Underwater content is lacking balance thats it just balance.
If they removed the Underwater content they’d have to remove T6 materials that drop mainly from underwater mobs, they’d have to remove another dungeon path in this case 2 of them, remove a fractal path,remove legendarys that are for underwater, they would also have to refund all those players with said legendaries .
So please don’t create a storm in a tea cup just because they haven’t announced an underwater weapon yet.

Edited to add: Everyone will have to do the actual mission to capture the guild hall once per hall though no matter what. If your group online is too small, you’ll need to invite friends (or pay/beg/sing-songs-to-woo peeps in Lion’s Arch!) to come with you and help you claim the guild hall to own one. This doesn’t sound very promising, there is a reason why I have a small guild with only 5 people in it. I do hope I and the rest of my family are not going to be excluded in taking part in the guild hall capture.
Our guild is small and will be staying this way as the rest of my little family don’t play often enough to run an active guild. Please can you ease our minds regarding this?

There’s 2 of us me + 1 other we seem to get a decent match evenly spread both sides are equal in ratings.
We add a 3rd player to our team another guildy the balance then shifts we seem to get an imbalanced opposing team they’re either weaker then us or they are hugely stronger then us.
We add a full guild group to the mix and the opposing team all seem to have a larger skill base then us,higher mmr,all r80.
Unfortunately this fits with what I posted earlier. Since we are weighing party size so heavily, you’re getting matched other parties of the same size (or close to it) even though you may not be a good match according to MMR. Again, this suggest we could reduce that scoring some, or increase the scoring for rating.
We basically need to find a balance between two competing goals. On one end we want to match based on rating (which is a stand in for skill), and on the other we want to match based on party size (since premade parties have an advantage.)
Last Tuesday we introduced a change that adjusts a party’s rating based on the number of players in that party. The intent is to match pre-mades with and against higher rated players, assuming that matching a premade against higher skilled solos is less offensive than a premade with equally skilled solos. However, I never went back and reduced the scoring for party size.
So for now then it would be best to have small teams of 2 if your premades like mine are not that great we do communicate but not that well as we are still learning and getting matched against higher teams doesn’t seem fair at all.
Luckily we have found a work around and that is by using a custom arena and beating each other up…
The problem that I can see with match making at the moment is that its not really working as intended take my example of a few matches me and my guild mates have been through.

The issue that I seem to have worked out is that one of our guildys is r80 some are r40 and others are in between. If you algorithm is working as intended then my only solution to get a balanced match is only duo or have only the same players with a rank that is equal or less then your by 5.
Now if I join unranked by my self I seem to get players that are on my skill level, is something broken in ranked?
Note me and my guildys are sub-par in pvp we don’t go in with the intention to win with the exception of our r80 guildy who is bad-kitten and this is making pvp not fun.

Hi Justin I’m wondering if you could take a look see at my match ups over the last couple of days I’ve noticed I have been going up against Tiger and shark ranks quite a lot and I’m only rank wolf , also my team has even said that they haven’t done pvp in any way apart from farm ranks and this is leaving me at a disadvantage. On the old system solo Q worked fine for me got some decent matches the old ranked arena again got some excellent matches…This is leaving me with some wins and a lot of losses I think, I know I am not a pvp player pro just a casual scrub that likes to pvp on and off but the match up seems rather odd… PS happy holidays/christmas and all the best for 2015

Problem is I don’t use SweetFx with gw2, I only use Sweetfx with Skyrim…..I did update to the new Nvidia driver today.
Guessing a full driver wipe is on the cards; If I press the okay button nothing happens it just keeps popping up, my client does load how ever and I can play but that daft error message is still there in the background….Wondering if the Nvidia forums will be able to help.

Hi this error has just happened and it seems to stick around regardless of restarting my PC. I’ve tried fresh graphics drivers,run GW2 repair,checked for malware/Virus/trojans.
Gw2 is a fresh install my OS is fresh as the PC is brand new and the error only comes up with GW2,my other games run fine no messages like this.
I’ve checked Google but the only things that keep coming up is posts from 2012.
EDIT1 GW2 ran fine last night when I logged off no error messages
I am wondering if any one with some technical knowledge can help me

So if someone has one tag now, they get the 300g account bound blue tag, but you can only get a refund if you have more than three tags?
Edit: If that’s how it is, why can’t I get 200g back from my 2 extra?
That’s is why I’m kitten off I’m losing 200gold for having more then 1 tag. Truth be told Anet does like to scam its player base with these new features get our hopes up and then bam a huge pay-wall..There reply will be, we had to do this as it would of broke the economy other wise sorry..Better luck next time .
Anet just posted in the reddit thread for this. You will only be reimbursed if you have 4 tags or more.
Which make sense given that the price will be now 300g (3 tags on the actual price). You will be refunded for any tag you bought above that value…
If that is the case a lot of players including my self will be kittened off as this is a new system all tags bought from the new system is 300 so each tag after the 1st one should be worth 300 regardless. Am I asking for 300 gold for each tag after my 1st one..No I want my 100 gold back and If anet wants to kitten its player base well they will be in for a shock. As far as I am concerned gold has inflated so when I bought my 18 tags they was 100gold now that inflation has set in that 100 gold is 300gold they are not keeping 200gold that should be rightfully mine 100gold for 1st tag and 100g for the other 2

Given they have to condense a character record into an account record to even make this possible, they have all the metrics available. I imagine players will just receive a mail from the Anet team with X amount of gold attached.
Here is hoping though, while I wont hold my breath about it as I got kittened by support regarding the everlasting gathering tools…

“We changed this, live with it” would probably have created an even worse reaction than this. So what should he have said?
He simply should of said nothing that would of caused this much of a kitten-storm…Just a simple sentence saying “All will be explained in game, stay tuned for more.”. For what he has done now is he has brought his entire teams work into question will this fit with the lore what we have now or will they re-write the lore to suit.
That is also why no one from that team has commented since, they are properly asking the PR team how do we sort this mess out….

Well I just looked it up and the details given about the dates of the secondborns’ awakenings were released like a year before the game actually came out. Soooo if they had decided to tweak that little detail before release, and just failed to mention it, it would clear up a lot of this.

it is not just about the dates/time line it is the context that Bobby said it in
Well they did move away from most of the things they said during development (see the manifesto), it only figures that interview-lore isnt sacred either.
Unless we’ve built content around something, it’s usually considered malleable from a design and lore standpoint. Occasionally we decide to go in a different direction months or years after the first ideas are documented or even talked about externally. In some cases that means what one member of staff says in an interview can change when it comes time to building a release. It’s part of our iterative process.
In short, go by what’s in the game.
It is that context which was said that has most of us annoyed since nearly most of the important lore is outside of the game. Today its a small slip up but that slip is on a hill and once it gathers momentum where’s it going to end up….. PS we can’t go with whats in game as its not in game as in the details of second born and others things like that.

Wondering where the lore now stands, since lore in game can also be malleable lore outside of game is also malleable.
Would be nice to get Bobby and crew to answer this since Bobby dropped the nuke that wiped it all out in a sense. Who do we believe now npc’s can be influenced by the writing team and this can open all sorts of problems.
Luckily for me I’ve now gone back to playing Guild Wars and only logging in to gw2 now and then as the writing team has destroyed the most fun thing there was for me the rich lore that was developed inside and outside of the game which was untainted.
Since we know Guild Wars wont be getting hit by any of this nonsense I can go hide in my protective bubble and ignore what Guild Wars 2 has done
So as my final word on this and before it gets locked by the mods would the team of writers/lore writers like to comment on the cluster-kitten that Bobby dropped on us.

Problem is I’ve learnt more about the Guild Wars universe from outside of the game and to be told that now none of the articals,manuscripts,interviews etc hold any weight…
what has changed is that Scarlet is older then we thought she was. god they really need to move away from Scarlet with the LS.
Out-of-game Lore is canon until the Game says otherwise. The game has said that Scarlet is older. the Game has not said that everything else is non-canon.
That is not what my point WAS, I’m clearly making a statement which the game now contradicts the blogs/interviews done by a Lore writer. We are supposed to believe the lore team, which we can’t really now rely upon due to these errors the Sylvari’s time line has now fully changed due to them shoe-horning scarlets(Mary-Sue) D.O.B earlier then thought.
This is not why most of the lore community is up in arms though, most of them are narked off at the thought of any out of game lore is now de-bunked this goes for WIKI articals Lore talks and there twitch talks that does lore It also means RED posts in this section they are now to be looked upon with rose tinted specs until the game says other wise……….
I’d like to say this to all and I mean no disrespect to any one “We as a community need to stop hand holding the writers how else are they going to learn to write a better compelling story when a mass majority says it’s the best content we’ve seen; it’s better then sliced bread.” They’re flag ship Guild Wars had a much better story then Guild Wars 2 which surprised me a lot 1st with the main story then with Ls1 and Ls2 so far has not been too bad but it hasn’t been great

It is clear that the writing team doesn’t know how to convey this in game, so I’m wondering why did they bother to invest in things like the atlas,the blogs,the short story’s, the countless interviews they have done.
So what is left for me to say it’s a sad day to lose Konig as he and many others have helped the writing team convey there message outside of the game because most of the subtile hints that they left in-game was too small.
Good job Bobby and co for destroying the lore comunity. Not to give to much negative feed back though I did enjoy the 1st instalment of Ls2, wasn’t perfect but I expected that from playing Ls1.

This is from a pve perspective:
1. Profession1 Ranger (this needs the most help by far)
2. Profession2 Engineer (this needs help, but not more than 1)
3. Profession3 Elementalist (this needs help, but not more than 1 & 2)
The reason why it is called sPvP is because it is structured, and not the only form of PvP in our game.
PvP = WvW + sPvP in the world of Guild Wars 2.
I don’t like calling any one out but surely WvW is PvX as you face Non Ai’s (players) and Ai controlled plus you gather materials ie wood etc do jumping puzzles vistas…..
WvW first and foremost is PVX, you can do your daily in WvW easily if you just get out of the zerg once in a while.
Also to note it is the hardcore elite of WvW that thinks it’s PVP well they are truly wrong on that. I agree that WvW completion should not be tied to World Completion I also agree that commander tags should cost a bit more but not to be allowed accountbound.
As for balance it’s simple PVE is so unbalanced it’s unreal and the mix of the player VS Player is again balanced to an edge of its life. Anet just need to do a large balance sweep across the board to shift a lot of the top tier classes, hopefully when this large balance feature patch comes it’ll help with the balance issues.

I stated this during the Ready Up livestream earlier today, but I’ll repeat it again here.
While we are releasing new story related content with the Edge of the Mists update, very little of that content actually occurs inside of the EotM map. Hopefully that alleviates some of your concerns!
Love the way you worded this. As a WvW and a PVE player this content is far the worse thing ANET have done, it is encouraging campers on the LS spot inside the mists and causing a lot of frustration amongst many players, some of these players don’t seem to understand that this content was made for WvW 1st with shoe horned LS content lobbed in for good measure.
This will be the only content I wont participate in due to Anets poor understanding, PVE players don’t care for WvW and most WvW players are nasty they get their jollys from watching players dieing

Every LS patch was only about pve, and even at WvW we oftem see LS stuff, so this time Anet changed a bit, why not the otherway?
I think it is good, pve players will have a chance to see how WvW/PvP players can get organized in large scale fight and how coordenation is important and it is fun.
@LoopySnoopy.7923 theres no problem to arrive the batlefield clueless, you will find alot of players hunting unexperienced wvw players but also you will have dedicated players on your side and for shure they will help you.
IMO this is a ice breaker between servers, since we have to team up, just hope this is not adapted to the main WvW map.
Don’t get me wrong I do WvW a lot with my server I just don’t like the aspect of the 2week LS turned into to hunt down the un-experienced whilst they try the LS. i’m hoping ANet have common sense and its not an active WvW map until we liberate it from Scarlet and her henchmen.
As the title hints at when this patch drops do we know that the severs we are matched up with that week; is going to be a free for all?
So if I’m doing a part of the LS some one from another sever can kill me…. This has me worried a little and has me thinking if they go that way I wont bother and I’ve enjoyed 98% of the LS including the recent version of it. Thus I would miss out on part of the scarlet conclusion, would be nice if a dev would answer this.
I am having the same issue my levelling bar keeps resetting back to half way and not rewarding me my skill points.
If this is a new way to slow do the legendary process I don’t like it :P
Just herd back from support seems to be a bug after all which is a shame as this small QOL item would help make friends and build bridges.. What harm would this do to turn it in to a regular merchant so my friends can use…?
According to the wiki, only the owner could use the Personal Merchant since, at least, December of 2012. Maybe your particular one was bugged, but on the whole they are and have been personal-only.
According to the wiki “The Personal Merchant” is for use by the owner only, but the “Merchant Express” is for use by the owner and allies.
That wherein lies the problem, my allies have been able to use this for 3 months my servers zerg has been able to use it, I know I am not getting the merchants muddled up either as I don’t have any merchant expresses. If it was an automated fix for a bugged item well I would love to know why I wasn’t informed when it was changed.

Not skipped as I checked that in the dictionary already as I’ve said Personal to me means that in this case I own the merchant IE I own Tescos sort of thing I’m opening him/her up for business I don’t get no profit the merchant does (silent partner). Why has this changed I know it says personal but my allies have been using this; I make the suggestion to revert this back to how it was just like the other Merchant Express (temporary one).

This tells me a merchant should be able to be used by all, as I’ve said at the beginning what harm was this doing it helped my allies merch up and I took the term personal to mean my merchant that I own that I am able to share with others via using him/her.
Lets keep the discussion of this friendly so it can stay open, I don’t want it closed I would love a developer to explain why this was changed……. It might of been a bug to start with but it was a bug that helped not just me but my allies and my wvw zerg.

I smell a brown storm approaching, the blog should of been up as soon as the next set of monthly content was announced again poor management. We the MF players are out of pocket by a long way and your answer is change it to another stat, that is purely mental.
If you did not want MF in the game you should of taken it out before the launch of the game instead of now saying its unfair for other players, what about the berserker players will they have there armour removed as there as bad as MF wearers, sure they contribute to the party but so did MF wearers. My engineer could hit for 9k damage while in full MF ascended trinkets too, that to me is contributing, this to me is picking on the little guy that wanted to play the game their own way.

Hey all, no worries, we got you covered.
Weapons, armor and trinkets with magic find will become account bound, lose their current stats and will gain the ability to be double-clicked to select one of several stat options depending on the item.
For example, if you have an Explorer’s Pearl Staff, you can now double-click it to change it to any other crafting stat.
We will have a blog post about it with more extensive information as well, keep an eye on the website.
I do hope this blog post has a full run down on how the transitions going to be. As at the moment this is a case of well we ran out of goodies to give you but we are taking your set away and saying make a brand new one. which I might add we don’t need, why can’t you change the MF stat to every resouce node as in logging,gathering and mining you have a 5% chance to gain an extra strike on said node. This response to me is like sticking two fingers at players who used there MF gear for when they are gathering nodes and only doing a few events. I hope with this my ascended trinkets can be replaced and its little inscription thing.
I like the overall Idea behind the wallet; although the gold being lumped on to account wide sucks. I used to have my top 4 chars earn there own gold and buy the materials from MY personal vault this then kept a fund going for my alts this is changed now and I hate it; Thanks ANET.
The mystic toilet and the fractal relics I do hope we are able to transfer the fractal relics into the required dust, otherwise this is unfair and makes the relics next to useless. The crystalline dust is already hard to come by and the conversion rate from ectos to dust is pants.
Hope for a fix on this soon. Also while im on the topic of the wallet all the dungeon token icons are heavily pixalated, I’ve tried to change the in-game U.I from normal to small,large etc and it still doesn’t help I’m only running on a 22inch monitor, the overall lay out is horrid as well makes it look like a 5 year old designed it why do we need a grid patteren? You did a nice job of the U.I panel for the achievements, and compared to that the wallet is horrid to look at.

Well guess Anet did not mean, when they said play how you like. Good bye the MF farmers that did it the right way and not leech in dungeons, why couldn’t Anet just put some code in for dungeons and block all armour that has the MF code.

There was a “starter” chest for 100 AP, then a 500 AP chest (which isn’t available in all time zones yet) and an upcoming 1000 AP chest with the new skins.
Can we get a detailed post on how these achievements work? As in my head I have it like this every day I log on i’ll get a bonus chest about 14 of them for 7k AP points am I rght? thats 14 days one per day up to 7k AP… Unlike the WvW chests which actually tells you how many chests are owed to you this new UI panel doesn’t tell you how many AP chest are owed
@ Jeffrey Vaughn, would you agree then that this is a sucky way of trapping a person into their utlitys/heal/elite with out any warning?
Also doesn’t this go against Anets all build diversity thing.. that you have just pushed through. Locking players into one format isn’t good, you may as well give us all a new set of skills and then it would make sense locking the skills in, IE lock skills when in ghost form but give us a whole new template akin to the dungeon…. This would be a new mechanic and a lot more fun then it is now.

When I try and buy gems from the gem store I enter all my details click the pay-pal and fill in that form but then it re-directs me to gw2’s selling page with error, can not purchase gems please try again or contact support. I click the support option but there is nothing there for not been able to buy gems…. Can any one help me?

Does this mean any characters we have WvW wxp ranks on will get a chest as I have 4 characters that does WvW and they are all sat on rank 20,24,32 and rank 4?
Or is it a case of you get x amount of chests for the highest rank you have Ie the rank 32 char will only get the boxes
To be truthful its another flaw in an already flawed game the team who’s job this belongs to wants shooting its been over looked… They want us to cheat as in pretty please wuss out and take the easy route we don’t want you to kill this champion; as he’s a special friend blah blah blah
I still think the devs need to look at this; but alas the devs wont do nothing to change it as they keep saying there’s a list of X to do before we can do this… Same old kitten
There are plenty of ways to go about this.. two of which I’m particularly fond of.
1) Join a guild that will help you out with things like this!
2) http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Elixir_of_Heroes Getting the elixir and then just running through Orr without using it until the skill point might be difficult… but it’s possible, I’ve done it at a few commune skill points that I wouldn’t have been able to get otherwise.
I’m with a guild and my play time is quite odd to say the least, all I’m saying is this why cant we do it as on our own with out cheating as in using environment and cons. Which I believe is the only way to do this..

You are promoting challenging content AND advise players to either skip it or gather enough force to stand a chance to win it.
You are trying to prevent changes that would enable players to actually fight with their own character instead of using numbers or tricks to bypass difficulty.
You don’t want difficulty, you defend something that looks like it but is not.
A mob you can’t beat and must either bypass or zerg is not difficult, it’s just silly.Who’s bypassing difficulty : the player that makes creative use of environment, items and skills to get the skill point without killing the champion or the one that makes a “Champion OP, nerf it to Veteran status !” post?
Sorry but its a valid reason for wanting it nerfed to a veteran main reason why I posted this was that over the last 6months there’s been players which have struggled to get this even with a group and on my 13th toon I’m now stuck getting it my self.
I understand using the environment to our benefit and such using cons or buggy AI (pets) to accomplish this.
Isn’t it about time we have the strategy of taking him down whether it be on our own or with a group………. At the moment taking him down is either too risky on our own or even with a group of 3 players its risky.
The point is this why should we go out our way to use consumables just to distract an enemy so we can safely get the Skill Point. The point is this the ability’s he has don’t warrant him to be there just replace him with a veteran and add some more trash to balance it out. And use the champion in a event style thing in the same area not location, yes many don’t see the point of this thread but since the risen was tweaked a few patches back its now gotten to a point where this is stupid all in the aid of making orr more populated well its not worked. Also I have done this SP around about 12 times so far and have had to cheat my way to get it as in run around the back wait for him to wander off and speed cap the SP.
First of all let me say that i’m impressed that you have 12 characters that have played through the cursed shore, essentially meaning 12 level 80s (or near that). That’s some massive dedication, which leaves me all the more stunned that you’ve picked this SP of all things.
I really don’t see what’s wrong with being forced to find a way around fighting a monster solo. Consumables? That’s only to help you out. Most classes don’t even need it if you kite him the right way.
I don’t see this as a broken game mechanic at all. “Kill the monster” doesn’t have to be the solution to every puzzle in the game. That makes things stale. Properly applying a clever strategy to solve a problem actually makes me feel a lot better than just brute forcing a given encounter.
12 level 80s and 2 left to get there, I mentioned this skill point as its the one that people keep shouting in map chat we need help with and its the one I’m now getting stuck with, as I’ve mentioned why should we have to work around it he should not be a champ he should be a vet there is nothing warranting him to be a champ in the 1st place, its an oversight on anets part
