LMAO – Legendary Armorer isn’t a freaking “raid achievement”. It’s an Explorer achievement. That fact would have be obvious to everyone if you hadn’t carefully cropped your image to avoid showing the left side of the achievement panel. Raids just happened to be the first way to acquire legendary armor. You’re not special in any way and doing raids won’t change that.
It is an explorer achievement but with a title related to the envoy armor set. Also it was probably added because people requested a way to show that they have 750 LI without posting all 3 armor sets in chat when joining raid groups. Letting the grind based WvW and pvp armors add to it would make it useless as a proof of raid experience.

Could we have our own achievements maybe? There is a lot of missed chances for WvW achievements and really a limited scope of available ones. Especially on some things that can be a lot of work to complete, including the recent changes.

It was the worst I’ve seen in a while tonight. First loading into the map I thought the whole thing was going to crash and then all night long the lag was just horrible. Worse than usual by any means.
It all boils down to how badly their “account bound” weapons skin idea was received by the players. So I guess this is their eventual replacement idea since that first idea was so terrible. It might not be so upsetting if BLC keys, where we get tickets at, didn’t have such terrible yields for so high of a cost. Still, to the people who think a set has ever cost more than one ticket at start: You’re wrong. Those were re-releases, but you missed the first release for some reason.
I can deal with the grind for the most part, but it shouldn’t feel like a full time job either. For me it’s that WvW is mostly ignored when it comes to skill balance. It’s really become nothing more than a troll fest for overpowered builds, food trolling, siege trolling, disabler/ supply trap trolling, and so on. It’s pretty frustrating and it’s obvious after the last “fix” to the update that populations are down to what they were and sometimes less before the rewards updates.
Yes, after the tick “balancing” I have. The game mode is quickly returning to it’s previously dead state. If only they were so quick to balance skills in WvW.
Please fix this bug: Since the release of LSW3 Episode 5, Retreat causes the Guardian to auto-attack the nearest red (i.e., enemy) or yellow (i.e., neutral) target, which is completely counter-productive as hitting a target results in the character’s movement speed to slow down (because “in combat”).
I am pretty certain that this is a recent thing and did not happen before aforementioned patch.
P.S. I had to deactivate auto-targetting because of this problem, which had never been an issue before.
This has been an issue since launch. I gave up reporting it after the third year or so.

^This. In general Anet tends to not fix problems and focus on new content (even if dismally slow for WvW) which creates new problems that probably won’t be fixed. Lather rinse repeat.
I’m having a similar issue. It started for me to day by coming up with the “Borderland is ready” menu to accept and when I hit “Travel” it asked me if I wanted to queue up for it again instead of sending me there. I was very careful to click travel. That’s an old issue though for, with me at least, what seems mostly for EBG. Tonight I had a new thing happen. It seems that the acceptance menu isn’t popping up at all when my queue is ready and instead it’s just auto re-queuing over and over again. It’s not every time I try though. It seems completely random when it happens.

It’s really just horrible what they did. Again. At least if they’re going to ignore us why not do it completely. At least then things don’t get worse by half balancing.
Pre-hot it was much easier for a larger force to get into keeps but the defenders also had more options for defending against a force that was inside the lords room. Bannering the lord and using the keep waypoint between events were ways to prolong lord room fights. Prolonging lord room fights allow a smaller force to potentially cut off reinforcements and whittle away at the larger force.

In short I believe that keep fights are important for keeping a 70/30 fight win rate between uneven groups, which is important for the longevity of the game. For this to happen I believe that keeps need to be redesigned to prolong the fights in keeps, not the fights to get into the keeps. Examples of this can be seen in pre-hot gameplay that has now been removed.Many of these points have been identified many times over many many posts on this forum. This is the biggest problem. No amount of begging, pleading, yelling, arguing, and no matter how well spoken gets anything done it seems. They’ve created the most bitter game mode possible and don’t understand why.
Anet doesn’t balance skills for WvW. Their primary focus is PvE and sPVP. When changes are made to WvW it’s almost always with sPVP in mind and very little if any thought as to how it will affect large group combat in WvW. If it’s not that then it’s troll build that aren’t allowed in sPVP, but are are left to reign in WvW. Etc. Etc.
TL;DR Anet doesn’t care about WvW balance.
The irony is that the red keep is supposed to be for the lowest ranked server and is meant to give a small advantage.
Changing it might not be too hard, though. If the touch-ups done to DBL were in-scope then raising the elevation of Overlook might be possible too.
Back in the day when rankings were by color blue keep was for 3rd place. Red was for second. Green was first.
Since the release of HoT masses of skilled players and guilds have left gw2. Everyday gw2 loses more and more wvw players. All that is left is the players trying to hang on for lack of another game like wvw. And players and guilds that strive to do nothing but make the wvw experience as unpleasant as possible for other players. WvW is no longer fun for anybody except those type of people that find it enjoyable to make playing unenjoyable for other players.
It’s just time for anet to cut their losses and shut wvw down for good. With there not being a skill balance coming any time soon its a lost cause to keep it up and im sure the upkeep cost isn’t worth it.

Although maybe a little extreme you do make some good points. I’m afraid you’ll find little support here as most WvW players who haven’t abandoned the game have abandoned these forums a long time ago because of their, let’s say strictness and resistance to any criticism.
There is a differnece between PvP and WvW. Anet does not want heavy bunkers in sPvP. Therefor they already removed most defensive amuletts. They nerfed several defensive abilities for sPvP only because that nerf is not intended to hit WvW where bunkers are sometimes even needed (just imagine a zergfight of glasscanons…).
Doesn’t change the fact there is severe need for balance in WvW and it was all but ignored for WvW. I guess I understand on the other hand as roaming is about all that’s left of the game mode.
Maybe I’m reading the changes wrong, but this is my perception of the most recent balance changes that we have waited months (MONTHS) for. Is this anybody else’s feeling as well?

Reading through the notes, a few of the changes are also for WvW. I’m also pretty sure the Epidemic change was made because of WvW.
Pointing out that a WvW was mentioned less than a handful of times only makes my point. It was literally a very small fraction. For a game mode in desperate need of balance it got very little.

Agreed. Sometimes it all feels like a shell of what it used to be.
A-net I looooooove gliding but for the love of grenth. Can we disable the autogliding. It is So annoying when trying to do specifik jumps, and the autoglide kicks in and you go way farther than you wanted to. been doing the new jumping puzzle thing. (And really like it) but every time the autogliding has screwed me over.

It’s called becoming jaded. The player base that didn’t leave changed and the good player base quit which is entirely because of the crappy job Anet did in handling this game mode.

That’s something completely different and in no way reflects how RNG is bullkitten and something they have had “on the table” to fix for a long time. However, since you brought it up, time gated stuff is just as bad.
Yeah, no warning and ridiculously high nerf. There are days I can hit every bloodstone node in Bloodstone Fen and be lucky to get three or four bloodstones. It’s my guess they cared less about people making money off of the unbound magic and WAY more about making this map and grind content to drag on as long as humanly possible.
A disable option is easy from the programming point of view.
These forums are a funny thing, we usually see each other suggesting things that would take tons of programming, and a simple change of those suggest that “it should adapt.”
Exactly, and the people who are saying to adapt obviously aren’t even troubled by the problem anymore or if at all. So their opinion is pointless. Especially for something so easy to do.
Personally I find that Gliding makes Jump Puzzles harder! or even if its not a jump puzzle just trying to make that branch or whatever, the kitten glide kicks in and you miss it, whereas it would be so easy without gliding. It would be nice to be able to turn it off please Anet !! thanks
This is 100% the way I feel. To all of the people saying to relearn how you press the space bar, although you are technically correct, it doesn’t change the fact that a simple option in the menu could be just as effective. I mean we have an option to switch the order of inventory management in the inventory menu, but not this which seems like a no brainer. If you want to relearn how you’ve been doing jumping puzzles from launch then you can just not click the button to disable it. Nothing lost for you. For people like myself with certain motor function disabilities it would mean the difference in me even trying the new puzzles that get introduced.
Why does Open world Pve have a monopoly on Legendary weapons locked behind it? Why does only that gamemode get this utility?

Pretty much. I mean, I’ll say what some of us original players are thinking. The more they try to turn Gw2 into WoW the worse the community and game gets.
I also noticed this. It can be really, really annoying. It’s like they just keep resetting in position but not in health/ cooldowns.
I’m really not happy with more wasted rewards (Maguuma mastery books) that I cannot collect because I’m being punished for not wanting to do raids. Please consider changing this block. I can’t earn XP for spirit shards in Bloodstone Fen either. It’s a horrible block and it just continues with each release.
I really didn’t think chests could get any worse, but then Anet lowered the bar yet again.
I would love to see this and I think it would go far to show that WvW isn’t an abandoned game type.

Unfortunately it’s true that the game that started with the idea that you could get the rewards you wanted playing the way you wanted is dead. Legendary armor requires raids in a game that didn’t have raids in the first place because it was created to include everyone and therefore kept large scale content open world. It got really bad when the last big WoW expansion flopped and the great exodus began.
It is much worse. Nerfed door spawns, bosses, etc in the labyrinth on top of that.
Horrible prices on the few new things or impossible drop rates, increased DR, nerfed bosses and door spawns in labyrinth. It’s a gutted husk of the greatness the first Halloween was.
Boonshare is probably too strong but this is such a bad bad idea. Set caps on Signet of Inspiration is bullkitten for WvW. I would rather see this affect certain boons and not others. Boonshare has made WvW group fighting much more fun since you don’t down to condis instantly. I guess if I play my mesmer I’ll be ready to be a portal and veil factory and the subject of the usual “I need people to get off class x. Why do you bring that to WvW”. If you’re going to actually look at WvW balance issues perhaps you could something about some of the cheesebuilds because roaming is as big of a play-style as any in WvW.
@ jeknar ~ No disrepect Jeknar but there is no contradiction in my post regarding the OP in that i was shocked at learning Yb was getting any adjustment at all. It is quite obvious that Anet was reducing the +150 adjustment to +75.
You have a point about the warscore being the ONLY metric which is being used to exclude much better opponents in any match up.
My view is only that i value good fights rather than siege hugging / back capping.
Your entire post was nothing more than cleverly disguised angst towards a match-up. Which match-up threads aren’t allowed for a reason. All you are accomplishing is assuring any argument you would make is invalid based on your inability to refrain from making passive aggressive insults towards Yak’s Bend.
Furthermore I would suggest that this thread has primarily lost it’s true purpose and should be closed as any other thread that discusses direct match-ups would be.

WvW isn’t balanced would be fair enough. Roaming cheese builds rule for havoc and below that destroy the spirit of the game. One shot mechanics and such. They really never balance for WvW. It’s not viable as ESPORTS!
This has been a huge issue for WvW. While “balance” patches are PvP driven they often times break WvW hardcore with little care from Anet. We are usually ignored and just have to wait for the next quarterly update . As you can see from the heavy developer activity in this subforum (Not counting all of the post closing of the angry players of course).

I really hope this is an oversight on Anet’s part. Otherwise that just sucks. I have no intentions of doing raids, ever.
I’ve loved pretty much all of this update as well. My only two complaints is the range on the White Mantle Knights aggro being too large and most importantly this post. Getting hit by the rocks all the time and knocked out of the air is very frustrating. It feels unfair and really kills the fun of gliding completely when in the areas this happens.
