In my opinion I did not feel like the rewards in anyway matched the effort put forth. Personally I was in a 3rd place server and received 8 greens, 0 rares, 0 exotics, 1 taste of WXP, 0 Jugs of WXP. I cannot see the reason why I would feel like grinding this hard next year. I’m not sure we will see any attention to this matter either. It has felt as though there is less catering to the player lately, but that perception could be incorrect being a possible reflection of my personal frustration in this matter.

I agree completely with GS for Ele’s. That would be amazing. I Think Rangers should have rifles hands down. Might be neat, or completely stupid, to see Engies with some combo of a dagger in the sense of a Swiss Army Knife. Thieves should get rifle as well with a set of skills that more of a sniper variant. In the same instance I think a mesmer would look cool shooting out illusions with The Dreamer. I’m not sure I have any good ideas, but I know it’s fun to think about.
Elementalist: I’d like to see elementalist have the same starting health pool as other cloth classes before stats.
A lot of their censorship makes little sense to me. They have been on a binge lately deleting posts, closing threads, and handing out infractions. However anytime I’ve said anything to this affect so far they have deleted the thread and or post.
Aside from that the server change sell was started before Season 1 began which they got a lot of money from guild transfers and a lot of servers lost a lot of big guilds who headed for the top three. I felt it was in poor taste to have a sell for server transfers when you know that server transfers have always been one of the biggest problems for WvW.
This is a nerf more than a buff. Earth skill 4 was better before. It was a further nerf to AoE. Now dodging targets count as one of the five possible targets.
I have to say that everyone has nailed it here. We eles have been fed a constant stream of crap since the very beginning. I love the game, but wish my class wasn’t the biggest joke out there. I play staff and appreciate some of the buffs, but our skills take FOREVER to cast. It’s ridiculous. By the time I get a single fireball out there whatever I was shooting at has already been killed by ten staff guardians. I used to think that people who said Anet hated this class or that class were just jaded, but after a year of being crapped on I kinda have to start believing it.
I have the same problem. Might as well get used to it I guess. Not sure if it’s just elementalist or skill bugs in total that get little to no attention. Many bugs have been persistent since launch with no fix. For example try being in Earth attunement (Staff) running along some yellow named critters and casting Magnetic Aura. Most likely you just started randomly auto-attacking the nearest mob:/
Although this may get more attention in the Elementalist profession category under the bug listing there.
With every new update I’m seeing more and more bugs. My characters don’t even feel the same because of the skill behavior and lag spike issues. Since the Tequatl fiasco often time lead off skills will appear to cast but never actually cause any damage even on what appears to be a visual hit. Love this game SO much, but I kinda want them to stop fixing things before they break something else XD
So many skill bugs that have never been resolved. Elementalist bugs and Guardian bugs both. Seems to me skill behavior fixes are pretty important when I don’t know ummm playing.
I’ve been noticing a lot more of these “silent nerfs” lately. Just look at ecto rates. Also most of the add mob abilities in Orr lately. Whoever is doing the update notes needs to be drug out to the street and bought a nice coffee too make them more alert.
Open on Tarnished Coast, but I’m not sure how long it has been open.
This louder call for raids has come in with the new influx of WoW players. I don’t want to play WoW that’s what I play GW2. GW2 made content that made everyone play together, work together, and never feel like a loser because they aren’t good enough to be in a raid team. That’s what I loved about this game. Now I know how we are doing at Tequatl by the pace of people blaming each other and arguing. I feel this is really moving away from what this game was about.
This is probably the most annoying thing everXD It’s been going on for months for me. I really wish they would find another way to do whatever it is that this is actually accomplishing.
The only place I know of where the karma hasn’t been completely nerfed is WvW. That’s where I get all of mine.
The honest majority believe this update is absolute crap. I’ve even seen people talking about how they can’t wait till TESO is available. Not me though, I don’t care for ES very much, but still not a good sign to see. A challenge is good, but this is just ridiculous… It’s not a challenge to be one shotted, spammed with multiple skills with no recharge, and have no way to defend yourself. Whether it’s this, Orr, or Aetherblade stuns it’s the same story. I don’t play zerker because it’s impossible in this game. My main build is very high in toughness and has 18.5k hp.

Absolutely no! Anet has been coming up with some really stupid ideas lately.
Anet lied, plain and simple. They said there would be no nerf of champion rewards, but they would make people want to complete events. They took the karma drops out of champ chests which was a HUGE nerf. This game, as much as I love it, is starting to disappoint me with this sort of stuff.
I am also concerned that we just finally are seeing proper compensation for the amount of work in events and kills and now they are over-scaling everything. They finally after months drop the damage of Risen Nobles, but now others such as Risen Ravagers (who were already high in DPS) have been given even more abilities. Of course these weren’t listed in the tool tips. To have one of these mega champs spawn on us at Pent when there are only 4 people there is just plain stupid. Combine all of this with the karma nerfs and I can’t help but wonder if Anet doesn’t want us to even enjoy this game anymore.
What’s up with these new buffs to event champions without ANY patch note reference at all. Doing Pent/Shelt today and some of the champs where throwing out 5+ AoE rings with less than a dozen people here. We finally get stat boosts with various ascended gear and things just keep getting buffed to a ridiculous amount. I want to play, not die repetitively. Anyway, I’m sure it’ll get balanced out. It’s just very frustrating to learn about it the hard way, instead of the patch notes.
Yeah I’m pretty disappointed in their plan on Celestial gear. It really seemed to make my ele feel much less neglected by the developers. I worked really hard to build that gear through what seemed like an eternity of gated work. Now I find it’s going to just loose a stat where almost every other piece of equipment with that stat is getting a replacement. I’m fine with the rest of the plan, but something different needs to be done with celestial.
Ember farming is exactly what GW2 needed, it promotes getting a group together to do events. What Arenanet need to do now is tweak it so that it’s more beneficial to complete the event.
Co-ordinating an event chain is way better than waypointing from champ to champ, if you removed the incentives for doing events like ember then all you are left with are waypoint farming.
I’d much rather do event chains than farming a champ rotation.
Seems to me Anet has gotten a bit soft in dealing with cheaters. At the beginning of the game they (later temporarily) laid down the ban hammer for people using a karma merchant to get weapons for free to forge them. Now it seems to me they are saying “We appreciate your cheating, but maybe we can bribe you with more loot to do it the right way”. Not that it matters if they don’t like what you say they’ll just throw your posts away without explaining why.
I just want to point out, we agree. The game is more fun and exciting when defeating things and working together with other players is rewarding. Champions have always been an issue in this area, and it’s why we addressed it, we’re continuing to pursue other areas in the game in upcoming releases as well.
That being said: the behavior we want is people join up together to play events, but they want to succeed those events and win them, we never want to be in a state where intentionally failing an event is more rewarding or better for players. We’re not going to take a giant hammer to champion loot, we love it and love seeing people joining together to do events. We do want to make succeeding events what the game is about. We also do want to make some events in the future even more challenging, and in return more rewarding for succeeding.
You will see changes over time to help directly encourage players to always want to try and succeed events, we don’t ever want to create conflict between players who want to progress an event chain, and those who want to fail it. It’s bad for the game and not what Gw2 is all about.
Just my opinion, but Anet has gotten soft over time. I say if you cheat, and this is cheating, then you should pay the price. Anet was very strict against cheaters before. This kind of exploit abuse (Ember farming for example) ruins the community and makes greedy players into greedy “everyone for themselves” jerks. That’s not the community I know in this game. I personally think it’s time for at least a slap on the wrist. I try to post my opinion, but rarely come back as someone always has something negative to say to try to make themselves feel smarter.
I’m not going to say that this game has it’s problems, because it does. However I can only imagine how massive of an undertaking this game still is considering the size of the world, hundreds events at any one time, and so much content intermingled and flexible to different variables. I certainly feel there is more balance that needs to be accomplished between professions, but even that is better than it was. I’ve heart 99% praise for this update and 1% whiners. I’m sorry, but this post seems like someone who just threw their proverbial Nintendo controller and yelled “The game cheats!!!”.

You have no idea how much stress this game can cause because it is more confusing than fun at times.
Somehow I think I understand this game very well and it’s frustrations. I’ve been playing since opening day and have 2600+ hours under my belt. I still get confused at some things in this game and believe that clarity isn’t Anet’s strong suit. Every LW update I find it frustrating that I have to look up guides just to know how to start. I’ve even made my own rage posts. However making wild claims such as the game is dying because Anet’s festivals are boring, poorly designed events that have caused aliens to have twisted Logan Thackeray’s nips in response to their disgust at our human games doesn’t change anything. The solution is that if you aren’t willing to stick around and help make things better, then go to your next MMO. No one cares that you are posting your farewell. You won’t be missed and you won’t start a revolution. I’d say the same about any game. I’ve watched several die and hated others, but I’ve just moved on because after all it’s only a game.
Recently when Torment was added to the game and give to three very powerful professions in the game I wasn’t thrilled to see an over-powered version of Bleed in the hands of Thieves, Mesmers, and Necro Wafers. They are already very strong classes that kill me daily So instead of QQing I decided to think about a way to help balance out the sometimes ridiculous number of conditions that can get stacked on by multiple mobs/ players. Why not add a Condition Resistance stat to the game to balance the new condition? It could even be an option to replace the MF% when it’s converted to an account bound stat. I’m not a game designer so I may not know all of the details, but I would like the option of a defense against conditions other than having high vitality so it takes longer for them to kill you. Yes we have condition removal skills, but that varies by profession, race, and weapons. As a Staff Support Ele I can switch to water using a trait, but otherwise it requres that I put any condition removal skills (with horrible cool downs) into my utility bar taking up the majority of those slots. So these are just my thoughts and I hope others can build and maybe even correct some of them. I love this game regardless, but just thinking of ways to improve:)

So we are facing SoR this week and they are a lot of fun to play against. However the emote spam is really childish and trolls are for WoW. Anet needs to finally do something about this please. Either suppress the number of emotes from a team or remove them completely.
I agree with this SO much. I am not a fan of PvP and the rage that seems to come with it from immature players. I am glad people enjoy it, but would like games I can play with my friends that aren’t PvP oriented.
It’s been a good fight! I am sad that our turnout isn’t better since the bag farmers aren’t interested this week, but nonetheless We’ve been fighting hard here in TC. A big thanks to the commanders who spend countless hours ignoring their partners for us=D
Yeah, I don’t mind loosing a battle by being out numbered, out skilled, or out witted, but no out lagged. I really brings up a lot of resentment. Of course there are always a couple guys who claim that everyone needs to upgrade, but My computer meets more than double the required specs. Been playing since opening week and this has never been fixed.
I wish I didn’t have to wait 2 hours (If I’m lucky) to get into WvW after reset. Whether I stay in queue or requeue every 15 minutes it’s the same.

Agreed. There has been plenty of time to address this. This is affecting the scores heavily and should be on the top priority. Seems like they more things get fixed in this game the worse they get broken XD
Best I have found is WvW Bunker Staff Ele build via the google. Basically you go all P/V/T I run 0/0/30/20/20. Still get one shotted by thieves and melee still rush through to kick my butt quick. I use glyph of storms in earth attunement for the blindness and stacks of bleed.
The new buff for staff ele’s is good, but nowhere near enough. Still too squishy for no more damage than anyone else. The thing that makes me sick is that it has taken nearly 3/4 of a year to get out the buffs we have gotten. The only character I’ve leveled to 80 is an ele. I’ve played him since opening week and have never felt powerful in this game. Anytime I every got close to feeling powerful a mesmer, guardian, warrior, necro, ranger, engineer, and/or certainly a thief cut that short for me in a hurry. Finally gave up on my favorite class and rolled a guardian just to get two shotted by the 50 million thieves in WvW. Still better than the one shot for my poor ele. Guess I’ll just have to shelve him and hope that some day he is more viable.
I agree completely. It’s bad enough we have to deal with one or two shot thieves, but then to have no defense when you are down is just salt in the wound. I’d prefer them to be nerfed all together. Since that’s unlikely to happen we need more ways to fight back other than traps that cost too many badges and don’t always work. I rolled a Guardian because I thought they were op, but I still get rolled by thieves. Either nerf them all together or give the other classes more of a buff. Good start on ele’s but still not enough of a buff.
I agree with everything here. I bought 20 boxes and nothing. I’ve also never been treated so badly in game as I have with this update. If you find a dragon node you get cussed out if you don’t wait for everyone else to show up so that you can’t even get a single hit in. Just trying to hit a pinata also leads up to being told off. Node stealing was horrible. I’m pretty much disappointing with every part of this update. I have always loved this game, but I feel really let down with this “new” (renamed) content.
Yeah I agree that Elementalist are the red head step children of Anet. It really sucks. I prefer the staff, but being a healer is difficult in this game without sacrificing everything. We get multiple skill sets per element and for this we give up the ability to switch weapons. It’s always been that magic users get light armor for producing great damage, but let’s face it. Ele damage isn’t extraordinary by any means. Especially if you are Staff and just try going 1v1 while expecting to win much. Yet we still get stuck with light armor and if that wasn’t enough we have the lowest health pool of any class in the game. Not to mention we are the last ones to get any bugs fixed, and we have plenty of bugged skills. Why?? What do we really get for all of these losses. Rage if you want. I LOVE my elementalist (My only level 80 char in the game since launch), but it would be nice not to feel like I’m getting the shaft. You can say this isn’t true, but when the vast majority of the player base kicks eles out of groups and begs for Guardians then there has to be a reason. Would have a lot more respect for Anet if they did something about this.
I pretty much love everything about this update and even liked the crab toss until one person of questionable parentage decided to single me out the entire game whether I had the crab or not and I was not in first place. They kept using the fishing pole over and over and over again to pull me across the arena. I guess I must have taken it from then and they were having a cry baby fit, but it was harassment not fun. I think the items should have something to prevent spam use. One person ruined it for me and I think that’s crap.

However it would be nice to be able to explore Orr more on my own without getting chain hit with immobilize, OP bosses, kitten spiders (Forcibly injecting me with eggs in my book is kitten well now they say spray, but still kitten and risen nobles that make me feel like I’m made of paper. If we can’t get a few of these scaled down how about scaling me up?..lol
Yeah, this isn’t more challenging this is a pain in the neck. It takes all the fun out of it. I mean did someone sit around and say “Hey, how can we possibly make some of the deadliest and worst mobs even deadlier? I know lets take a vet risen gorilla that already throws players around like rag dolls, cripples them, and lets go ahead and make it throw three boulders too.” Next thing you know it’ll be throwing it’s dung at us. You’re not fooling anyone. This isn’t about making a challenge, it’s about slowing the loot train so more people will buy gems with cash. Stop ruining this game.
I agree. I can’t even play this game. I have a great computer with a good graphics card yet most of the time I can’t see what I’m trying to hit and when I do see it I find out it was dead at the time it shows up for me. I have to guest to larger servers now to do the temple events and even when I do they are now impossible. I’m sorry we are getting loot out of the events you created Anet, but you are killing your game. I watched a zerg of over 50 players just get completely wiped at Grenth before we could even get the lightening cannon started. Two champion wraiths wiped everyone in one hit. That’s completely ridiculous. I cannot begin to imagine what horrible programmer thought this would be a good idea. Sure if you want mobs to last a bit longer to let everyone hit them that’s great. Then scale up the hp and not the damage to match. The event to defend against krait while waiting for Tequatl is completely impossible now. I find myself not knowing what to do in this game now. I cant’ do any of the Temples or almost any event in Orr now. I’m afraid to get people involved in anything else in the map because I don’t want Anet to make that section impossible too. Orr is dead a lot because of this. I’m noticing less and less people are online. People I thought would never talk about quitting are doing so, myself included. I know you said you weren’t going to do any more areas till you fixed the problems with the game, but you have failed to do that. Instead you make it more difficult. People want a challenge not hours of pulling their own hair out. Thanks for ruining a franchise.
It used to be that Anet listened to their costumers. Look at the guaranteed rare in some world events now. Granted it took a long time to implement, but they did listen. If you believe we are loosing out on not being about to farm. If you believe it’s enough to make you want to quit like me, then I believe we need to let them know. I don’t want this issue to kill my favorite game in the end. The squeaky wheel gets the grease as they say. So don’t let the trolls convince you that you are just a whiner if you are unhappy with an aspect of a game you paid for too. Don’t let them convince you that you are the only one who has the problem when we all know that we see people in map chat and on the forum who feel the same way. So I for one want them to know that I want MY game back. Quit making Orr with less dense mobs and replacing them with enormously stronger mobs that spawn more mobs which give no rewards for killing. Quit remastering our game. This isn’t Star Wars and you don’t need to add any Gungans after the fact^^
I thought I would would be considering other gaming options. The debate above is great, but the truth is with each update I feel betrayed. How is it fair that people who who already have taken advantage of past farming spots have their legendary so quick while the rest of us are expected to take our time to get it . Not to mention those who can build a legendary by running something like CoF or AC vs those of us who would be forced to run Arah repeatedly to build the one we want. I’m sure someone will come along and claim their awesomeness at Arah, but ego stroking aside it is extremely harder than CoF (which keeps missing the nerf hammer for a company that hates farmers so much). This is just another imbalance in the game. I don’t understand the people here who are basically saying that it’s okay to accept mediocrity and continue being forced to play only in the way that makes Anet richer. Some people actually like farming too. I know I did. After Pent/Shelt was nerfed it was harder, but still manageable as long as it was prime hours. Even with slower event times and big waits that wasted food/ boosters you could make decent money. I told myself it’s okay because at least the economy won’t be inflated and they didn’t take the farm spot away from us at least. I noticed more and more events I frequented across the map got nearly impossible with OP champs and hordes of minions. Then came the last update. I cannot fathom what Anet is thinking. Let’s make all the creatures deadlier to slow down kill rates and increase repair cost? I do not understand what is fun about getting forcibly kitten by a champion risen spider (it injects it’s eggs into you forcefully, I am not trying to use the word kitten improperly) then have it’s young burst out of you who are now veteran spider hatchlings that are ridiculously powerful and make pent/shelt so difficult on even the biggest servers that I’ve seen the events starting to be abandoned. I guess we were still making money there so Anet had to put a stop to that. I’ve spent plenty of real cash on premium items. At least a hundred bucks a month, but I like to farm my gold. Even opening BL chests is rigged. I opened 20 chests on my level 80 character and most of the boosts I recieved where for XP or killstreak. Sure I can use them on alts, but they are useless on my main. So I decided to open the same amount on a level 5 character. I didn’t receive ONE XP boost. 20 chests and not one, but got plenty of boosts that don’t mean as much for a low level character. I’m sure that was just coincidence. So I did it again and ZERO XP boost. I’ve justified time and time again in my mind that maybe they aren’t greedy. Maybe they do care about the players. Since opening week I’ve justified and tried believing in Anet. I love this game so much, but they have finally ruined it for me. It breaks my heart, but I just can’t play anymore knowing that there is no realism in the world, Anet doesn’t care about balance (just money), and it’s just not fun anymore. For those who will surely defend the game I wish you luck in justifying it to yourselves forever. I hope you never loose your love of the game because it was great while it lasted for me. Ignorance is bliss I guess.
