I understand completely what you are talking about. I’m disabled as well and this game has helped me through some of my darkest days medically speaking. When I couldn’t get up, leave the house, and even move around it made me feel as though I could still connect to others and have motivation through the day. Disabled people do not typically want to be disabled. It’s mind numbing to have a career and certain life goals taken away from you. I was always a social and active person so becoming ill was a difficult transition. One which would have been much much more difficult without GW2 in my life. Sometimes that connection made me a “bit” overly passionate about various game changes or events, but in the end I learned a lot about myself. It’s been a great outlet to say the least.
I like new trait system. In fact they should force us to do some other things as well.If we have everything we want under our reach, then we have nothing to do,no reason to play this game at all.
I can certainly understand and respect your viewpoint. However I feel that extra busy work isn’t a replacement for content. Especially when it can be circumvented for some gold.
There is no MMORPG with enough content. It is all about what the MMO forces you to do.
Whether or not there is enough content has more to do with another argument and little to do with me saying that busy work like the trait system isn’t a replacement for content.

It was probably just another troll siege commander’s spoon.
Although like many of you I am hoping drastically for an expansion. I just hope that in the same instance we will finally see a lot of the persistent game long bugs and issues that exist squashed. This Reddit post summed the majority of it up pretty well in a non-confrontational manner. Otherwise to me any major new content like an expansion, although still enjoyed, would be over-shadowed by all of the existing bugs, game issues, and QoL issues.
Some of the traits require you to even complete an entire zone to get. Unless of course you want to spend skill points and a decent amount of gold for each single trait. To me this feels more like another gold sink cleverly disguised as a “feature”.
This is exactly what I’ve been wanting too. The new maps are cool, but they feel like gimmick maps and I want something to actually explore.
There were many events like this in the past. They were mostly nerfed into the ground as they were easy to farm. Now they are shells of what they used to be. Reduced number of mobs per players, but increased difficulty significantly of the remaining mobs. This meant you had to work as hard or harder for less loot rolls to the RNG gods. Then time was greatly increased on most of these events so they wouldn’t be profitable to farm in regards to gold per hour. Pent/Shet/Jofast used to be a great example of this. It’s still decent farming compared to the events left in the game, but they used to have tons of mobs.
It could just be me but, since the launch of the megaserver, it appears, to me at least, that more people are playing.
Yes, you are seeing more players on each map, yet the total number of players is smaller than a month and a half ago. Anet gave us the Megazerger 2 months ago without checking it’s viability as well as what effects it would have on the player base. Personally I know of at least 15 people who have stopped playing (thus, buying no gems) in the past 2 months. But yeah, the world looks rosy since maps are fuller, it’s just that we’re condensed.
Exactly, and don’t forget they promised us they would slowly release Megaserver over a few months to make sure everything went smoothly. A week later everything was switched over. It was a solution to the dire need for server mergers. Eliminating server identity in the process.
Yeah the whole learn to economics thing seems like a cleverly disguised insult to me.
This has been an on and off mostly on issue for a long long time. I’ve seen people exploit this issue in PvP and WvW.
No single profession should be the best at everything? Do warriors know that?
^Would like to see a change to Guild Warriors 2.
I see we’ve had a lot of developer interest and assistance Sarcasm since they funneled us all in the one little thread to die off like everything else they don’t want to deal with. Meanwhile they’ve been busy discussing Destiny’s Edge 2.0 with their favorite children.
I’m glad I got enough people’s attention with my statement. The point isn’t that I can’t do it. I’m fine with the fact that I couldn’t play living story content I missed. I’m not fine with paying for it. That means that it’s not available to everyone who starts the game unless you pay extra for some of the content we all got for free. Also this is simply a symptom of a much larger issue within the game. Every two weeks I see the same handful of people on here trying so hard to justify this games increasingly poor decisions. Jumping all over anyone who disagrees. Of course those posts are never subject to removal either. Whatever you have to do to justify yourselves to keep playing this mockery of what it used to be. Your blind faith is no more good for this game than the people who hate everything and are never happy. It does nothing to improve the game. It does nothing to help it grow. All you’re doing is ensuring is the decline of what was a good game. The people who actually care about the game get angry, get passionate, and try to keep it from going down the humorously proverbial mystic toilet. So keep digging the hole for the devs to bury the game in.
I’m correcting you. You didn’t already pay for upcoming content.
To be fair all this LS stuff is developed post-launch so you’re not exactly entitled to any of it on account of buying the game. The dungeons, PS and open world at launch is what you’re entitled to. Even if the LS updates happen to contain those things you’re not entitled to them.
Best think of LS as DLC (just to be clear-I loathe DLC and thought it would do more harm than good for nearly 10 years now, but I digress) that you can play for free if you happen to log in during the launch week but you have to pay for later if you missed the launch period.
It’s an….interesting tactic. Log now or pay later…sneaky way of making people more inclined to at least log in-and once you’re logged in you might play a few mins. It’s not as good as an expansion (no leading by the nose you see)…but since they’re hell bent on this LS then this is an OK compromise I think.
I’m correcting you. By purchasing this companies product, like many others have, I have invested in the FUTURE DEVELOPMENT of said product. I already gave them my money, so until they give me something that I have not invested in, why should I give them more?
Unless you bought shares, no, your initial purchase only payed for what was already there.
Even if one didn’t pay for future content it doesn’t take away your right to be outraged at the over monetization of this game. There is really little other than the same old tired universal arguments that can prove that one bad profitable decision after another hasn’t ruined this game.
All too often I see the same three or four people stating the same tired arguments and excuses for the state of the game every patch as things have gotten progressively worse.
Gold Boss farm in the Pavilion will give you 150+ champ box per hr so I would say champ farm is buffed if anything
Not for the far majority of people.
I’m sorry Anet, but I can’t afford your game anymore.
It creates more holes in your pockets since you have to pay for past journals.
Losing players seems to be the most logical answer I suppose. Even as upset as their fan-base is they just keep rolling out these greed patches. You can pay for the living story you missed with cash soon!
Just when I didn’t think Anet could come up with worse ideas. I guess they found achievement rewards for players may actually net them 20 silver or so. So down with achievement metas! I think Simpson’s Tapped Out is cheaper to play at this point.
I’m not sure about the subscription, but I hate DR so so much. It was one thing when drops trailed off after around 20 minutes of farming, but now drops take 10 minutes to start, are less than they were before, then stop after about 10 more minutes. I think the subscription is something players will not go for. However DR is something that although it may help curb botting (it does nothing to curb gold sellers) it also benefits the developers profits greatly by making it harder to make gold and get mats. It’s also something else that makes the game feel unrewarding.
You could kid yourself and believe it’s for the challenge and it’s okay to work 10x as hard for half the loot. Although you could see they won’t give fair rewards anymore. I’ll be surprised if they don’t reduce rewards more overall in future updates. It’s what they have gradually done for months now so that something this drastic doesn’t seem that bad compared to a couple months ago. Compare it to loot at the beginning of the game though and you’ll see. Well over half of the feature pack was various nerfs to rewards as well. However don’t forget their friendly reminder with each patch lately…
“Remember that you can exchange gems and gold at our currency exchange on the second tab of the Black Lion Trading Company! Currently, you can get 1 gold for about 15 gems and 50 gold for about 655 gems!”
Not the first stealth nerf to slow the ability to make gold. I doubt it’ll be the last either.
Guys, guys, don’t forget that you can always trade gems in for gold!
The fixes are okay, still not up to what GW2 used to stand for. Still when donating that gold remember this from their update page on the website:
“Remember that you can exchange gems and gold at our currency exchange on the second tab of the Black Lion Trading Company! Currently, you can get 1 gold for about 15 gems and 50 gold for about 655 gems!”
Yeah, they don’t’ feel they need to fix rewards. They’ve slowly brought them down the extinct level they are at now intentionally. Most rewards we do get now are worthless ascended mats, badges of honor, or chances at a chance for a chance of loot. Meanwhile they come out with convenient messages about how to trade gems to gold on the updates. Removing threads that disagree with the current greed model and labeling them as off-topic or picking some other grey area to remove them for. At this point I’m not sure I can stomach to see what they do to LS S2. RIP GW2
It’s true they have started to sweep threads under the carpet that they find to be “off-topic”.
1. My friends
2. Good memories of how things used to be.
3. Holding out hope things will get better.

So no loot, or XP, and they will pay to play it? Anet you’re devious you know that? XD One little suggestion, have the Aetherblades attack before the bosses die and ruin the event. It would seem sooooo real.
LOL
Don’t give them any more ideas =P
On the bright side you’re bound to never be out of luck =P Well except for actually getting a dev to respond. Try reposting your question in the form of PVP.
Yeah this is past getting old. I filed a ticket and was told to just send a bug report next time. So don’t expect to get the loot you worked for and don’t bother sending a ticket or you’ll just be wasting your time yet again.
Although it may be a bug they do not always list everything in the patch notes. Silent nerfs are common.
The “buff” was a start, but it’s just really fluff. You can trade in festival currency for mats that mobs should be dropping anyway. Regardless mobs should drop loot. Anthing less than that will be viewed by me as just a ridiculous set of hoops to land in a pile of nerf.
It’s an improvement, but mobs should drop loot. Even in the LA instance at least they dropped bags. The bags may have had bad drop rates, but it was better than nothing.
I’m sure this will probably be a humorously hated idea, but I wish they would remove the ability to trade gold for gems. There’s no tin foil hat to say that for whatever reason they claim for nerfing it also protects their bottom line. They would be far less strict about loot if it didn’t threaten their profits.
I enjoy zergs, and I enjoy organized content. Why destroy one aspect of the game for those that prefer another?
Really? Yet another whine thread 12 hours after the release? Masses of free T6 Mats…
You want a broken economy? Because thats how you get a broken economy…
And you don’t have to make one huge zerg to farm through six bosses. This event challenges you to complete it quickly which means to split up into groups. Result:
1. Less Time consuming
2. Less Zergy (You can kill a boss with a 3 (wo)men group)
3 You can choose which boss you want to fightThe tokens we get have insane value. You can get fused Gauntlets for example which needed all flame and frost Achievements when it was first implemented. And if you want real good and valuable stuff, WvW season 2 ends soon which rewards you with multiple ascended weapons.
Why don’t you just play what is fun in this game. You really expected the devs to sit there in a meeting and go “Its time for a gold-patch where players can farm till they drop – that will improve our game!” This is another patch where they try to change our habit to do the content in an unchallenging, unfun zergy way even if we could do something different – just because we think its the more effective play style.
After Guild Wars 2 did everything to bring the players together, it now is forced to go into the other direction and split up the comfy zeros.
And there you go, banging your head against the same wall complaining about the wall being there as it is being torn down.
I think we all expected a bit of a nerf, but this is ridiculous. None of the rewards you are mentioning have any value. Only to personal enjoyment/ fashion/ stats. So unless they come out with legendary weapons built solely out of fashion and bloodstone dust then there goes your end game. I fail to see where the zerging matters here. Zerg or not there is the complete lack of loot. Sorry, I’m not here for volunteer work so give me my paycheck at the end of a job.
Yes, let’s all hate the most loved events in GW2 because we want to be negative and edgy about everything
#likingthingseveryoneelsedoesistoomainstream
#Hipster
#hashtaghashtagAnd I think 4 weeks from now. At least that is how long the Phoenix Weapons cost only 1 ticket. So I’m assuming that might be the best case.
This from the guy who is going against the far majority in total hipster fashion. These were the most loved events. WERE. They ate them then pooped them out to produce this crap.
Nope, as they intended. I agree with Hybrid.
At least before they gave us loot that was either worthless, incapable of being sold, or not profitable at all. Now we don’t even get the reach around of bloodstone dust.
That is correct. They specifically stated that was the last time you could trade in found belongings. Also the blade shards were a HUGE let down.
Hopefully this gets more attention then the ignored complaints about the worthless selfless potion on Asura.
the loot in this game is already bland…. why do you guys want more of it?
they need to fix the itemization…
It doesn’t matter if this new Crown Pavillion stuff actual drops loot…. THE LOOT SUCKS. Period.
Everywhere you go its the same, you see exact the same rewards. Buncha greens/blues. the occasional yellows. And ofc tokens! to get the flavor of the month skin.
The loot in general is just absolutely abysmal and uncreative. There is no specific place to farm for anything. Everything drops everywhere… yawn….
You are already in endgame gear by lvl 80…whats the point of loot now?? oh work towards skins I guess….Can’t wait for wildstar to come out
Agreed in all honesty and farming solo isn’t worth it anymore. Aside from the drops being poor you have to deal with the anti-botting measures. For the first ten minutes farming solo I get 0 drops. Then ten minutes of mediocre drops before DR sets in and the drops stop completely.
Yeah this is ridiculous. I’ve never been so disappointed in this game. The gold sink for content is a horrible horrible means of sadistically forcing players to spend harder than ever to find gold to play the game.
Pavilion no longer drops loot. What’s the point again? I mean really? It’s like going to work and not getting a paycheck.
Also the bazaar is now scales you to level 16 so any drops you get there are crap too.
In addition I see I wasted all that bank space (and bought more just like they wanted) for blade shards to turn in for green piece of equipment or better (which you know how RNG is in this game).
I give up.
(edited by LordEnki.9283)
I suppose this is going to be one of those “Let’s ignore it till people get used to it and forget about it.” topics now.
/Stamps foot and throws a temper tantrum.
I don’t wanna wait >=|
I’m gonna hold mah breath till we have new content! = P
I don’t know about factors and all the other verbal spaghetti of 5 dollar words. What I do know is I killed the wurm today for my first time. I had a blast and enjoyed the content. However I was disappointed with the rewards. Greens and one rare. Will I do the content again? Sure, it was fun. However it is okay to not feel the rewards match the work put in. Doesn’t mean you hate the content, but for me it makes the victory less rewarding other than warm fuzzy feeling of winning. Bad rewards do breed resentment in the community which leads to little gems like map chat QQing.
Wow. I’ve gotten 20 precursors in my time playing, but can’t get one to save my soul now. I guess it could be bad RNG, but never had this much of a problem until these changes to the forge.
Now I’m having an issue where I can search for an item to buy, but there are zero available items no matter what. Only less of course someone bought all of the silk scraps in the game and fill all of the buy orders too. So, basically I can’t buy anything.
