The blue super mace skin is a flail, but these are straightened out into normal maces. I was hoping that was a preview bug until I actually got one. Is there any chance that this is a bug and that the tribulation mode mace skins could be made animated like flails as well?
Sorry, if this is an old topic. I searched and found nothing.
Thank you. That kinda sucks making one GM dependent on another…
Overall, still enjoying Tempest.
“Auras you apply heal allies…”
Does that mean I need to take Powerful Aura and put auras on them to heal them, or does it mean a little burst of AoE healing goes out when I put a selfish aura on myself?
For me, here’s a few things I would like to see:
1. No enrage timers for whole fights, but maybe timing matters in small burn phases. Make it necessary to bring some zerkers, but make it senseless to bring only zerkers with the rest of the fight.
2. Bosses use only 1 or 2 strategic CCs instead of lots of constant CC. Would be nice to build an action bar only NEEDING 1 stun break and the rest whatever. I think Teq does this well. The long fear is punishing, and there is more with the fingers, but they can be avoided and burned down. Trash mobs can have all the CC they want if we can CC them back.
3. Mobile bosses and some control over where they go. Would be nice if any tanky character without taunt could still have a way to take the bosses attention, even if they can’t keep it the whole fight just to take it when it is most needed. I also say positioning because I think trap builds could be fun in raids too.
4. Stealth enemies. More classes have been given stealth counterplay. We’ve all killed skelk, so we know it is not necessary, even for a big one, but making it a surprise, skilled play would be great.
5. Stompable mobs. Cause Daredevil in PvE, right?
6. We have a lot of systems of “token/vendor loot” that are good, but have limited usefulness. What if things dropped Laurels or Destabilized ecto? What could drop that was nice every time you saw it, but didn’t break the whole world economy? I don’t want to overcome the ultimate challenge for blues, greens, and bloodstone dust.
That’s all I got off the top of my head. What do you hope to see? I’m not trying to suggest whole new features because I know the work is nearly done, but I hope they fix a lot of current problems in Raids.
….missed opportunity to give them warhorn, and it would have fit the name so perfectly well that I just think it is worth mentioning.
That being said, I like the shield. Shields are awesome. Glint is awesome. Facet abilities are super awesome
My only constructive feedback is about shield 5, which I’m sure a lot of people have ideas about. If you’ve seen the WP video today, he makes the slap-in-the-face comparison of how lackluster it is compared to like Ele earth focus 5 invuln. I’m sure we all had that thought, but I reference him cause I think he has a huge audience here. I think it would fit the theme of the whole legend, spec, and abilities if shield 5 converted 2-3 conditions into boons.
It has a 30 sec cooldown which is on-par for a 2-3 condi cleanse, and considering everything else being the same, new condis can still be applied, but do no damage until the end of a 3 second channel. I don’t think it would be overpowered. Being rooted and risking 25 vuln and a 2 second stun just needs that little bit of extra payoff for the risk for me to use it personally.
Doesn’t need a damage modifier, and doesn’t exclusively need to be used with warhorn. Not every elite spec has to become the new dps meta. Instead of damage modifiers it unlocks stuff like shouts which are cool and can even be further traited to give might and inflict weakness. The overloads are cool and versatile. The traitline makes auramancer better with fewer damage modifiers than some auramancers currently run. If yall manage to get it buffed in some way with feedback, great, but I personally don’t want to see a fix in the the form of dmg modifiers. They can feel too mandatory. Frankly, if everyone had less of them, it would be better than having as many as possible to make interesting traits never get used.
I was not too happy about warhorn, but that changes everything. The hype is real XD
You know, if you’re not happy with this, fine. Don’t buy it. But if you’re gonna raise a fuss about corporate greed, schemes, and misconduct, I’m sure you could find companies out there screwing over 3rd world countries, lobbying corrupt officials in any country, polluting at the disaster level, profiting off of slave labor, profiting off of war, and any other litany of bad corporate behavior.
The point I’m trying to make is this… No one is impressed that you are going after Arenanet. Hyperbolic statements about stuff you think they did to spite you makes you sound crazy. Spoiler alert: Conspiracy theorists don’t “know too much”, and nobody is after them. It’s just a thrilling self-esteem boost for some people to think they have really ticked off a large entity and have made a powerful enemy.
In the future, please read and re-read carefully so “misunderstandings” don’t happen on your end. If something raises a red flag, ask a question before you go on a witch hunt. Try to first reason things out like an adult assuming the other party is a decent human being.
I’m deeply sorry for coming off harsh, but new players are joining often now. They are watching how we act as a community, and we have a reputation as a great community. I hope we can leave this behind and learn from it.
I’m sorry for calling out the OP on this because he is not the first and certainly not the most incendiary, and I’m glad your issue is sorted now, but this is the kind of thing we need to avoid in the future, and we should have avoided it last week too.
You could have come on the forums to ask a question since the offer clearly raised a red flag for you, but you came for blood. People blame A-net for miscommunication and “PR blunders”, but come on… Any players who won’t even ask a single question and will assume the worst is the big problem here. Many can’t even be bothered to read more carefully.
Again, OP, I don’t carry a bad feeling for you, I’m sorry this was the post I was reading when I decided to call out this issue, and I’m glad you got the answers and assurances now. We need to all be better about how we communicate as customers and patrons, how we voice things on the internet, and how we treat each other sometimes too.
I am confused, anet mentioned “Emphasize Community and Fellowship”. So, which part of “Require HoT” is related to that, it is literally dividing people who bought HoT and people who don’t.
It sounds like you are arguing semantics and sarcastically pretending not to know about how or why MMOs implement xpac content so that you can ignite a certain debate that has been done to death
… but if you’re not, my mistake, and I will try to help. When an MMO expands, it is tacitly understood that we are taking this direction for further development not only to justify the expense but to further flesh out the new stories teased and uncover previously undiscovered layers of new content that they have been able to provide. That’s not a bad thing. If I buy it, then a month later they start some Living Story, I will be happier to see it continue on the frontier rather than, I don’t know, Queensdale. Like, in the core game, I loved the tower of nightmares radically changing Kessex Hills, and after HoT drops, if there is something like that to happen again, I would love to see in it a new zone… Or at least Dry Top would be cool too; as long as we move forward.
However, Anet can always surprise you with where something may pop up, and they love the core world, so there will be plenty of new content for people who don’t buy, but you have to expect that some features will be xpac only like Guild Halls, especially since now we know they play into the story.
You are wrong about Conjure Earth Shield, at least for sPvP. Earth Shield only needs a smaller cast time and finishers on its abilities, mainly.
-100% Projectile finisher (x2) on the third Auto attack (Crippling Shield).
-Leap Finisher on Magnetic Surge (The charge that dazes).Extras:
-Ignore Cripple and Chill on Magnetic Surge.
-Gain 2 seconds of Retaliation for every enemy struck with Stone Sheath.
Those are good ideas, and it would make me like it in PvP and WvW. Do you think it is enough for PvE? I thought of taunt because on the invuln skill because it would help in a boss fight or something rather than just sitting invuln and not getting any attention. Retaliation idea might be my favorite part of that, especially if we got a trait like guard to make it scale with condi dmg.
Another idea I just had: Instead of one trait to affect all conjures, how about each spec has a trait that buffs the conjure of that element. Like in Water, add cool ice bow buffs to “stop, drop, and roll” trait, because no one will ever take that trait as is. Dodge roll cleanse would be cool to get as a little bonus though. In air, add lightning hammer buffs to “Ferocious Winds” trait. (I know it already has a tooltip and math and all, but it really doesn’t seem to be doing anything as it is). Would give variety to the conjures and make them synergize with your chosen spec.
P.S.- Somehow – trait, buff, item bonus, voodoo hex – let’s get rid of the charges. In conclusion, I don’t like the charges.
It’s gonna be a beastly build if the game goes in that direction, and I hope it does. To be useful in PvE, we would need more of something like agony. One application of it (with little resist) could kill you, but there is reaction time and it is probably more than a normal self-heal can handle.
I am thinking of going with those 3 specs as well at least until we see whats next for reveals but mostly same thought only differences would be depending on what game mode playing.
For instance if your going for WvW oriented I would use the Daze Salvation elite rather than extra outgoing healing as you will already be able to do a good amount of extra healing but a daze which you can spam twice (1 for each stance) thats 4 seconds daze on top of other effects like knockback on ventari or defence boost on jalis
Just to clarify tho is the healing 18% + 1 for every 100 healing power so if at 1200 HP then 30%?
Let’s assume to have 1400 healing power.
Every 100 HP you get 1% outgoing heal, so it’s 14%
The buff we get from what it says should work together with the increase of outgoing, so we should have either a sum (18+14= 32%) or a percentage. If the above numbers are true, adding all the other percentages in Salvation we get
Salvation spec (55%) + Invocation IX (percentage unknown) + Salvation VII alone (32%) = at least 87% of healing power just from traits.87% + 10% (monk rune) + 12,5% (sigil of benevolence) = 109,5% healing power
This means that the 109,5% of 1400 is 1533.
We should have a 9,5% increase in healing effectiveness. But since I’m bad at math, somebody else calculate, I’ve surely messed up
You multiplied your healing power by that 109.5% you came up with, but that % is all bonus. Like if I have 1500 healing and just run monk runes and get the 10%, then my effective healing power is not 10% of 1500 (= 150). It is 1500 + 150 (the 10% bonus on top of my normal amount) = 1650.
So if you go balls to the wall healer like that, then you really need to multiply your beginning healing power by 209.5%. You would effectively send out heals with the strength of over 3000 healing power.
Just in case anyone didn’t follow, you already have 100% just because you have a stat number that is 100% of itself. Any bonus gets added on top of the existing 100%.
What if real items came with a code to also get a gem store item? Like a keychain gets you a ring of BL chest keys (5 pack? I would even take one if the keychain was cheap), a clothing item gets you a related in-game skin (doesn’t have to be an identical looking item), and the Steel Series gaming peripherals (your tools) each came with one of the permanent gathering tools. Would be neat.
I expect more than just a nerf when all of their changes are revealed because they are showing off a ton of neat innovative changes for every class. It won’t include all of this, but I say it to throw something out there. I’m sure others have had ideas like these before, but every time we voice them it shows how strong the support for it is, and when multitudes of us add our own perspective, tweaks, and polish, then I think we are adding to the possibilities that there may actually be a good, inspirational idea floating around out there.
Add an idea if you think it’s good and practical. Thank you for showing support for the ideas you like.
Speaking of which, that conjure water bow heal skill. I think it would be awesome to have a conjure heal, and maybe it could be any weapon. Conjure water scepter or staff, or something unique and floaty like guardian tomes were. And if it were to work with that crazy attunement idea, then it could be on a timer like FGS.
Nerfs were mentioned for LH and IB-4 damage. If it must be, then make it so, and I would gladly trade the “Auto-attack only” and “hit 4 and drop it techniques” for more utility. BUT I think there should be REAL utility, like the kind that would make you use a conjure even in PvP.
For Lightning Hammer and Flame Axe – Since they have charges and block off attunements, they can hit harder than normal weapons since they are a hassle to summon and take up a utility while trading 20 skills for 5. However, all the damage is currently front loaded into auto attacks along with the most desirable features like blinds, blasts, and might.
Hammer- What if hammer had the blind moved to 2 (leap skill), and added an aoe stun on 4 (lightning storm)? Would make it a great control wep to synergize with all the cool interrupt air traits. For auto attack, it could maintain decent damage, but the 3rd hit blast could use the longer Guardian hammer animation on 3rd auto hit. It would spread out the blast finishers a little longer, and slow the rate of truck-like hits, even forcing you to abandon some.
Flame Axe- If burning will stack, then it is already somewhat buffed. Maybe the 2 skill does more damage to burning foes so that you stack some might with 1, use 3,4,&5 to apply it, and then 2 is a finisher. You could change 4 to a fire damage ring, but with a smoke field (Where there’s fire…), and the leap could combo stealth unique to this one conjure for ele. Also, it’s not an exact copy of dagger skill.
For Ice bow and Earth Shield – glad they are not for heavy damage and have themes of their own. Still, what good is all of the Earth Shield defense if nothing wants to hit you?
Earth Shield- This weapon needs taunt like a real tank. It could be a single-target, short taunt on skill 2 or a 3-5-target AoE taunt on skill 5 for the duration of the invulnerability. (or both
)
Ice bow- needs more support, but I know that we don’t want out of control healing in just any gear or spec. However, with dps gear, auto attack feels too weak, and with healing gear, auto attack heals also feel too weak. What if auto attack also pulsed a 1-second Resistance to allies around the target? What if skill 4 damage was nerfed, bleeds changed to short chill or medium vuln, but it also created a water field OR 1 condi removal from each impact? What if skill 3 had a longer chill so it would be more useful as an aoe at a distance instead of point blank on one guy to stack a decent chill? In PvP a long chill can be punishing, but even if it hit point blank, then it’s just a question of condi removal to counter play it. Finally, for all-around usability and to deal some damage, what if it had 1200 range and the skill 2 did more damage based on distance? Like at 900-1200, it could hit as hard as a ranger’s longbow 2, but you are weaker close up so you can’t exactly mimic one of a Ranger’s best skills.
Finally…
Wackadoodle idea for a conjurer trait – Having a conjure on your bar replaces your weapon automatically while in the associated attument, and the skill on the bar creates a wep with charges for allies and grants a boon. I.E: I run daggers, but in earth attunement, I am auto-swapped to the earth shield cause I have that skill on my bar. I can run 3 conjures and replace 3 attunements that I choose. FGS would just replace fire attunement for a short time. Without cast time, Earth Shield on attunement swap could become a stun break with an internal cooldown separate from earth attunement CD and finally give a stun break to conjures. (if possible, only start stun break CD when a stun is broken, and I don’t think this is out of line with some of the traits that shrug of 1 CC every once in a while)
This would also be an alternative solution to what I said earlier about making flame axe/lightning hammer hit harder because of limitations on attunement swapping and skill bar space. Their damage could be balanced to match normal weps like engi kits are, but they would not be an exact copy of the engi kit mechanics.
Easy, plausible solution. The dragons and giant enemies are just fog banks, buildings, or parade floats, and this world has thousands of delusional Don Quixotes on their own adventures!
Ya’ll have some good ideas. Would you use glyphs if they had at maximum a 0.5 sec cast and removed a condition? That honestly might be enough for me.
Another Idea I had to make glyphs super unique and play into their own theme of being about attunements:
Trait: If you swap attunements within 1-2 seconds of using a glyph, then it’s cooldown is reset. (Can happen once per glyph every 60-75 seconds?)
For minions, it might just affect their activate skill, but you could have double stun break, double storm (chill then blind for me
), and double res, which you may or may not need, and you can miss the chance to use the trait if you are attunement squatting. Thoughts? Overpowered?
Yesterday, I posted a huge wall of text with feedback about the new stuff we learned for ele. It was pretty daunting, so I will repost tiny segments and refine the feedback over about the next week or so to make it easier for discussion. I was especially interested in discussing glyphs, so here is that short portion:
Glyphs
These are fine skills that no one makes builds around. When I see them, I want to compare them to Guardian Meditations. You can trait for them to grant a boon on use, like meditations with Fury trait, but that’s where the similarities currently end. Meditations used to also have cast times, but they were removed, and they also have a trait that makes them do tiny heals. Glyphs just need need 1 extra gimmick to feel synergetic and powerful. It also wouldn’t hurt to shorten or remove the cast time on some. They could have a trait that makes them give a new HoT boon, Resistance or Quickness, for 2 seconds in addition to the attunement boons, OR the Elemental Surge trait could also affect glyphs as well as arcane skills, OR just let them remove a condition.
I would try a glyph build if they did one more of these things. What would you do? Could you think of something that could have its CD reduced when a glyph is cast? That would also be cool too.
Glyphs
These are good skills that no one makes builds around. I think of them now like Guardian Meditations. You can trait for them to grant a boon on use, like meditations with Fury trait, but that’s where the similarities end for now. Meditation used to also have cast times, but they were removed, and they also have a trait that makes them do tiny heals. These just need the CD removed or be made to do just one more cool, even gimmicky, thing. They could have a trait that makes them give a new boon, Resistance or Quickness for 1-2 seconds in addition to the attunement boons, OR the Elemental Surge trait could also affect glyphs as well as arcane skills, OR let them remove a condition.
For now, that’s all of my thoughts, and I’ very sorry there are too many. I trust the balancers know better than I, but creativity can be a burden, and I hope that community input is more a relief than annoyance. I do not want to see ele overpowered or stealing too much from other classes, but hopefully, my favorite things about the ele’s flavor come to shine and make an ele something special and interesting for gameplay.
TLDR It’s long, Just try to find a specific headline that interests you and read that paragraph.
Skills:
Conjures-
There was a conjure nerf mentioned, and I love conjures, so:
For Lightning Hammer and Flame Axe – I think with charges and blocking off attunements, they should hit harder than normal weapons since they can be a hassle to summon and take up a utility while trading 20 skills for 5. However, for both, the auto-attack has the most desirable features like blinds, blasts, and might. What if hammer had the blind on 2, and like a stun on 4? Would make it a great control wep to synergize with all the coolest air traits. For Ice bow and Earth Shield – I really like that these are not for heavy damage and have themes of their own. Still, what good is all of the Earth Shield defense if nothing wants to hit you? This weapon needs taunt with a short enough CD and long enough duration to rival whatever taunt is given to the tankiest specs of other classes. It could be single 1.5-2 sec taunt on skill 2 and 5-target AoE taunt on skill 5 for the duration of the invulnerability. Ice bow needs more support, but I know that we don’t want out of control healing in a gear and specs. However, with dps gear, auto attack feels too weak, and with healing gear, auto attack heals feel too weak. What if auto attack also pulsed a 1-second Resistance to allies around the target? What if skill 4 damage was nerfed, bleeds changed to short chill or medium vuln, but it also created a water field OR condi 1 removal from each impact? Hello, I really enjoyed watching the whole livestream, and I really like the new system of picking 3 lines and committing to all the traits in them and letting them identify your character. I also love that traits were combined so that I don’t have to make a build sprawling over a whole page of 6 lines to enhance one feature of my playstyle. I.E.: if I like one set of utilities, then I get the most out of them with very few trait points, and the rest allow me to do other interesting things while those utilities are on cooldown, or to have a backup mechanic that saves my life.
For ele specifically, It felt good, but after seeing the new ranger, engi, and mesmer traits, I did get a bit jealous of all the shiny newness. I do remember that ele’s have some of the greatest traits in the game like arcane evasion for completely revolutionizing a play style, so I try not to request “new” for it’s own sake. Also, I am okay with making that a very hard choice with elemental attunement in the same slot. One is not needed for the other, and it makes 2 play styles.
Traits:
I still see some traits that could use a second mechanic or something to make them interesting choices.
Arcane Resurrection- Aura is nice, but it doesn’t actually help secure the res like thief stealth, ranger immob trap, or guardian shelter. Maybe we could get like a static field and throw this into air? It could go with that Healing Power/Ferocity trait or replace it.
Serrated Stones- Maybe also bleed when you cause X (CC, blind, chill, vuln?) I’m really rooting for a condi build.
Earth Master tier – All 3 of these seem bland to me still. Every time I trait into Earth now, I use 2 adepts. Maybe add Stone Splinters effect to one of them since it was removed? Maybe this is where we get the new resistance boon? I do love all 3 Grandmasters though. All are interesting and valuable if you play right.
Bolt to the Heart – Numbers still not finished, of course, but I did notice it’s identical to a thief GM trait, but our health threshold is 33%, theirs is 50%. Still, I love the Air line. There is a lot of cool play with CC bonuses, and that is fun.
Powerful Aura- Really hope it’s all auras
Conjurer – Could this just remove stacks and have the one minute duration? If you want to encourage sharing them, it might be better than the aura and not over power the above trait. Anyway, the FGS auto-attack is so long, that it’s the only one that can go about a minute without using up 25 stacks, so the stack limit, traited, mostly affects the weaker ones with fast autos, most of all the flame axe. More about conjures below and a more daring conjure trait idea…
Burning Precision – Very strong with GM minor trait, and I would like to see it swapped with anything in master tier except One With Fire. Also, If I use LH or something, I would like to trait for conjures in adept, but still have this burn chance to take advantage of that GM minor trait. If I’m dedicated to conjures as a build, then it’s a hard choice, but still with only one outcome which kind of feels bad. Still, in a group, someone will have burning, so this is an issue for solo play.
Pyromancer’s Puissance – Should be the best trait ever, but easily passed over so often. If there were a trait somewhere, anywhere, Tempest maybe, that had “gain/inflict X for 2-3 seconds when you grant yourself might” or “% chance to gain/inflict X for 2-3 seconds when you grant yourself might”, then it would be harder to pass up. I say “for 2-3 seconds” so that PP would be the best source for this and not a big fire field stack before the fight. It would have to be something that drops somewhat quickly.

My advice to the OP is to at least try playing in Spanish and using subtitles to help. It may feel as close as a strange dialect of your own language if you can perceive it that way. All the better for you if someone can confirm it is EU Spanish and not LatAm Spanish.
I thought I had seen all the stills that people were using to speculate, my bad.
I know everyone has been guessing longbow for Guardian, but I haven’t seen any good proof yet, but I might have found some.
https://youtu.be/1eONphVCLoc?t=55
frozen at the 0:55 mark, look at the Charr on the far right. Heavy armor, holding a bow, and the only character on screen with Aegis active. It would be on more characters if a Guardian nearby activated the virtue, AND his projectile fires one at a time unlike the warrior. I suppose it could also be a Rev with an unannounced wep using a legend with access to Aegis or one of those lesser-used rune sets that gives Aegis.
Again, I may have missed someone else finding better evidence than this, but it still makes me excited
Hopefully, they won’t bring these particular minis back for normal sale, and I think they don’t want to alienate anyone who has spent a lot for them by invalidating it. I think new minis will still be sold in normal packages because though whales are important, they are not the sole source of income. I, for one, have no problem buying gems when it feels like a small, entertaining indulgence like the cost of a movie ticket every once in a while. Whales may have a different hobby than I do by which to compare it. I do work for a game company ( not A-net fyi), so I know what a real whale can spend, and I’ve heard about positive feedback from big spenders with no regrets. There’s no reason to begrudge them having extra to spend, whether they are rich or just living within a smaller percentage of their means. Glad the OP got what he wanted, and I hope he got lots of other cool bonus stuff from chests in case the minis alone don’t live up to how much he values what he spent.
I’m gonna agree. Lots of people want “issues” fixed involving the best methods being blobby and stale, but when they see this BL, they say they want less PvE and bigger, flatter maps for big fights.
I don’t get the backlash. The awesome contours of the land and the feature-rich environment seem like they are tailor-made to address the long-standing issues people have. You already have maps with less PvE and bigger open spaces, and it’s working, but we could definitely use something to make us all relearn the game mode from scratch. I’m glad they are being bold and swinging for the fences with it. I think of all the xpac PvP content that other games release over the years, and it’s all just the same with poorer and poorer balance. I think it’s awesome we get these enormous maps for 1 PvP game type and a new game mode for the other. I was honestly expecting the xpac to be mostly PvE focused with a couple new SPvP conquest maps and like a new trait line for WvW skills.
Revenant deep dive had screen shots of a Sylvari Revenant, so I’m hoping that is enough to prove they will still be available. Also, abolishing new Sylvari characters makes as much sense as deleting our Sylvari characters.
The 1-80 personal story is set before Zhaitan died. Season 2 was set after that, and It’s been a mix of instanced stories and huge world things that only take place in level 80 zones. Season 1 was all over the world and until the final bit where Mordy woke, it could be reasonably set in a time leading up to Zhaitan’s death if that’s where you happened to be yourself. No one called you commander until after Scarlet died at least, and all the dragon lore in season 1 still didn’t deal with one of them dying.
They’ve been very clever about giving you a cohesive, linear story that you can encounter at your own pace throughout the open world content that’s been available to you. They couldn’t possibly wok themselves into a corner where they HAD TO dispose of an entire race and all the specific content that goes with it.

Could you ask if there will be story releases to set up the xpac? Like maybe something small where we see Rytlock come back before the world is flooded with other Revenants? or we see some infighting start with the Sylvari?
I would like it if the next living world started just before the xpac to tease us and gradually get us ready rather than having to choose for a while between doing all the new stuff or the story that explains it at launch.
well we’ve seen profession specific armor in the trailer for HoT… remember the druid?

Everyone take a closer look at those shoulders. I don’t know if it’s been said, but it’s obviously been missed a lot of times. Those shoulders have figures of Raven, Wolf, Bear, and Snow Leopard on them. They are new norn racial!
Edit: Not as clear, but I definitely think the staff has the same figures and is also a new norn racial texture.
If they wanted to go really outside of the box it would be awesome to give the warriors a staff as just a MH wep and let them dual wield a shield or small wep in the OH. They could also then get pistol or dagger OH to give them 5 new wep skills total. They could make the specialization “Command” based where the 2 skill is a charge, similar to banner, but more damage and also gives boons to allies, and the 3 skill calls in an artillery barrage or something (also a good chance to give Warr a channeled ranged skill). The auto-attack might just be like an attack chain that uses “tactics” or something to do weakness on the 1st hit, vuln on the 2nd, and gives an aoe might shout on 3rd hit or something.
It would look super cool and commandery with like a shield, and it would offer super group support. Just me dreaming anyway…
Will there likely be new skins for normal loot drops, and some even cooler new skins for exotic drops or craftables? I always look forward to the new wearable art in expansions. The Revenant concept art and Rytlock are wearing some really flashy new duds that I wouldn’t mind having too.
More importantly, if Arenanet had the best running back in the league and was down by 4 with only 20 seconds left at 2nd and goal on the 1, would Mike O’Brien call a pass play? I’d like to think that he wouldn’t, but that may be my A-net fanboyism.

ALSO, let’s not forget that even though it’s new, the Revenant will most likely get a specialization and a new wep at 80, but not before.
Pistol/Focus! Only right answer to that….
I’ve been thinking about the ele specialization (like a lot of people) and I think there are 2 likely options.
I think they will add 1 new wep set (single 2H or 1 each MH/OH) for each class. I think the ele could get land spear for a closer, melee 2H thing, but most likely, I think we will get Sword/Warhorn.
2 swords would be great, but so far, they have avoided any class getting MH dagger/OH sword (ranger/thief seem to be purposely avoiding that while skirting the edge). Also, since we saw a Mes with shield, I just think warhorn is more likely for us. It is not used by a ton of classes, and it doesn’t look like it’s being added to any that we know so far, and it doesn’t make sense on other unconfirmed specializations so far except maybe Guardian.
Edit: ele could also get torch. Torch would make a lot of sense, but my top choice would be the spear melee ele

Also, rune choices like Superior Runes of the Elementalist or of Grenth may get more use.
I noticed that with the new Grandmaster traits in the feature patch, Guardians are able to trait for stronger burning, and Rangers can trait for stronger poison. With those systems in place and if they are working well in the world, then my suggestion might make Condi Ele a fun new choice.
I suggest a Master or Grandmaster trait that makes chill tick for damage, possibly at the same rate as burning, or even poison since we don’t have access to that without a sigil. Thematically, it belongs in water, but it may have more trait synergy incorporated into fire with a name like “frost burn” or something.
It would also make a Condi build that promotes more attunement swapping to get bleed, burn, and damage chill ticking.
Would anyone else be excited by this?
From a lore standpoint, dead on, but I don’t RP, so I won’t be exploiting that breeze for myself. Also, when I posted this concern in the main feedback thread, I remarked that I don’t view the blue as skin. I think it represents some kind of cool transformation into a statuesque, celestial being. They key idea there is “like a moving statue” which has no vulnerabilities or obscenities to its anatomy, but since there are elements of traditional armor (metal/cloth), I would like it better if those pieces DID treat the blue as a human skin for aesthetic purposes so that they make a more complete set alone. It’s almost like the blue form and the armor pieces are 2 parts to this amazing whole, but the armor part could certainly not stand on its own as it is.
I started a thread about this, but in case this thread is the only place to talk about the armors, I will repeat my comment here.
I think the light armor set should have some cover like briefs under the loincloth. I know the heavy armor has them already, and I hope it would be easy to add to the light. I love both of those armors that I bought, but it is a little embarrassing to swim in the light armor or to jump as a male norn with both knees high up out front. I don’t really view the blue parts as skin like some people do, but I would like it better if the metal and cloth elements treated the blue areas as skin.
Everything else I’m fine with, and in fact, I love everything else about these armors.
I think his survival should be celebrated by Anet somehow.
Coming soon to the Gem Store: Buy Ogden’s Hammer…. skin!
Or a new “By Ogden’s Hammer” shout skill. Could be for warr, guard, or my guild really thinks it should be a norn racial. Causes great savings within 15 yards.
First off, I love these armors, and I bought light and heavy sets, but…
The light armor model could use a pair of briefs under that loin cloth. I figured it’s no big deal until I noticed that the heavy armor DOES have briefs which make swimming way more palatable to the eyes. It’s also noticeable with the norn jumping animation with both knees high up in front.
I really hope it would be an easy thing to add. I find these armors endlessly enjoyable and beautiful, but it’s just a few viewing angles on the light armor that make it feel a bit awkward, and I want it to feel just as epic as my heavy character.
Why do people think LA will be rebuilt?
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

I wonder if Kurt Russell will make an appearance?
I see what you did there, Snake.
That might be an in-character explanation instead of an omniscient developer one. It’s like something an in-game character expert on stuff might hypothesize. They usually do a good job of not letting us know more than the inhabitants of the game world.
i think if it was mordremoth, the moment it awoke we’d lose the entire bloodtide coast map, and lion’s arch too.
so i’m going with “no” based on that.
I doubt losing LA is a possibility, but wouldn’t that be awesome to fundamentally change Bloodtide Coast? Overrun it with new minions and tear a gash in the world? It would probably also break open the Dominion of Winds….
I think there is going to be some new zone or zones after this, so that would work nicely… and maybe playable Tengu.
Ooooooohhhh, I hadn’t thought of Scarlet using the marionette weapon against the Wurm/possible Mordy. That makes sense if 1. the Pale Tree itself is a jungle dragon champion like people have speculated (very powerful, spawning minions immune to other dragons, not the only one of its kind, arrived as dragons were waking, and possibly converted to good by Ronin & Ventauri influence) and 2. Scarlet, wanting to break free of controlling forces, may go above the tree if she knows it’s not the top of the chain.
I think this would also work if the Wurm really is a champion, she could be trying to eliminate all champions to draw out Mordy.
I also think real weapon is the fail mechanism that kills us against marionette. The marionette itself could be like bait or some physical component to grapple with a giant creature within the sights of those lasers.
You’ve been warned about spoilers in the .00001% chance that this is correct.
I think the multi-headed jungle worm could actually be Mordremoth, the jungle dragon. It is said to be super massive, and was basically dormant underground which is very dragony. Zhaitan also had many extra appendages, and several of them were smaller heads. Would that make you more or less excited? Since the new worm fight is permanent, it would obviously mean keeping it underground a lot longer, but that is the only strike against it I can think of.
Hey, I was a little disappointed in myself during the week-long free trial because I didn’t have anyone I could think of for that. Today, I found that a friend of mine has time in his life for games again, and he’s chosen one that I don’t like and don’t want to play. Could the free trial become a monthly thing? I understand it not always being around because getting new players in bursts helps populate the beginner zones while these people are trying out the game. Will the next one also be a week? Can it be soon? I should check myself, but is the digital download still discounted? That might also be enough to bring someone in.
The unfortunate truth, that the only vilain that did something in this game, is also a complete plagiarism from a child comic book, is depressing.
How much Arenanet are paying their storyboard staff?
Originality is hard to come by. Would it disappoint you to learn that both Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings were both heavily borrowing from The Ring Cycle operas by Wagner? All the major plot points from both are there, but I don’t bother going around criticizing the creators for this. Some stories and characters are timeless and proven.
Besides, from the Scarlet short story, I see a huge difference. The Joker “just wants to watch the world burn” and Harley just wants to please him. Scarlet wants to burn the world and have a hand in recreating it. She is not crazy, she is enlightened. Still that is not a motive, just a frame of mind. Her motive is fueled by pure evil, self importance, and a paranoia that if she does not do this, then she doesn’t matter. To her, it seems like everyone lives and dies and the world is still how it is supposed to be, and she doesn’t like that. Crazy? No, she knows what she’s doing, and she is smart enough to know how we perceive right and wrong, but she just doesn’t care. Evil.
P.S.- I get how she is like Harley, but I would actually compare her to Cyborg Barry from Archer. “Later, tater!”
