Sometime at the end of April, don’t hope for any changes tho. The last balancepatch was a simple joke.
It would be cool to have hotjoin not being a waste of time or daily pingpong one of those years.
Remove the 20s timer in which you can volunteer to join the smaller team entirely because in 20s the entire match is decided for the bigger side. Also lock people from joining a different team when they already joined one before.
I would really like for hotjoin to be a place where I can actually test something instead of me dooming my unranked team for a couple of minutes.
I bet it’s because if it is more expensive to craft it has to be more fun! Right? Right, Anet?! FUN, YOU REMEMBER THAT?!

I’m more concerned because they haven’t talked about any of the changes. That makes me believe the balancepatch will not be impactful, which means another boring season ahead.
Had a few forced loses with full random against full premade. Followed by a game where my team slightly lost in a 4v5 because someone didn’t connect the entire game… Yeah, that probably would have been a forced win if not for that…. Thanks system… you kitten

So basically you don’t have any fancy inspiration. Rather you have somebody being put on a fiasco project to ‘un-mess-it-down’… who then just ran with the ‘plant’ theme in various iterations until they found the right balance between plant and ‘iconicly identifiable’ so that players would feel comfortable playing it.
Around launch ArenaNet was touting it as a new original concept for a race, never before done in the history of fantasy. Somebody was THAT unaware of mythology to not even have heard of a Dryad. Let alone that the Sylvarri we have today, has been a playable race in table-top RPGs since the late 1970s and the game Runequest, where this race is what they call ‘elf’ (as such Runequest took a major popularity hit with D&D fans who were looking for something hentai-like).
(I used to be a 12-year old boy, decades ago, so I remember that reaction to their plant-elf…)
Did you read the links you posted? Because dryads are mentioned as an inspiration, as are ents. BTW, certain highly important backstory elements were written long before the visual creation of the race, which is the reason they didn’t just ‘run’ with a plant theme.
Ele’s need a basic rework. They have been key figures in multiple metas by now which all come down to the massiv boonspam and their ability to sustain without caring about their suroundings. DS is only the most recent emerging offender.
give us more boon stripping so there is strategy involved, don’t overnerf the bunkers they have their place, but currently, the boon stripping is so weak and far between that the balance is off.
Boon stripping is very, very weak. A shatter mesmer can strip boons every few seconds but any class relying on boons can just reapply them a second later. Unless we get a mechanic that punishs boon application, we will not get anywhere by getting more boon strip.
The other way would be to reduce the boon spam of certain classes, mainly ele, the worst offender.
Dhuumfire? If were talking about past events might as well bring this shining example loool past metas don’t mean anything to the current meta.
And if you seriously think current ele state is the same as the celestial D/D you need to get a reality check.
Tempest is one of the tanky builds that plague the current meta and make it as boring as it is. It’s more tanky than a bunker guard, by being far better at sustaining and has huge support abilities. If you think the state of tempest is fine, you probably think the current meta is acceptable. Hint: It’s not. At all.
The devs need to address so many issues across the board to save PvP. I don’t see them being successful with that, which alarms me that season 2 maybe as doomed as season 1.
Anyone remember the meta achievements in season 1? You got something just for playing. Sometimes you had to use 250 Zhaitafy. What you didn’t have to do was spend 3g and 25k karma to unlock a collection where you need to drink 10k drinks.
I kinda want my 3g back.
The meta being garbage being another part for me to give up on season 1.
Tempests are in a good spot and consider them one of the least “gimmicky” builds. They are reliable and I swap to play one if there’s none on the team.
Remember staff-less tempests suffer from poor mobility, low hp pool, low-ish damage output.
If you play carrion Reaper then yes, the ds tempest and certain daredevil builds will counter you. A power necro can handle daredevils well. As for the tempest, you will need to rework your traits, swap amulets and maybe start playing one to better understand their mechanics.

Are you talking about 1v1 wise? Why would you try to kill a bunker 1v1? You can’t. He can’t kill you either. However, if you want to pressure him into losing the node then scrapper would be your best bet.

Pretty sure OP hit the nail. If people are playing all bunkery, it’s not a good game.
With everyone and their mother playing bunker and evade rezzing downstates, winning has nothing to do with skill.
Any statistics about decoration usage? Differentiate between, normal decorations and pumpkins, please.

I think the non-chrono interupt build works just fine still. As long as the enemy team isn’t full braindead bunkermeta passiv procs.

This effect should never be invisible. The skill shouldn’t even exist in this state. Compared to similar skills that you can avoid with stability, in a group situation this skill will place so many wards that any stability is outright removed. Bad in group fights in PvP and extremly aweful in WvW. Like many things the DH brings it has no counterplay.

You can kill 3 mushrooms, each giving spores, after completing the DS meta close to the middle waypoint in each lane.
The WvW crafts for scribing all require too much fibers.
Not only that, many upgrades every activ wvw guild had for several years were riped away and gated behind guildhall unlocks.
The new tricks could have improved wvw but at these prices you will rarely see any of them.
Scribing is a bad joke and WvW is in the trash can.

On a somewhat related note about dc’s. Why do we on login always load into hotm first? That’s another long loading screen when you want to get back into a running match. With that being the case I can’t imagine getting back into a match in under one minute ever. This one loading screen takes almost half the time to get back in on its own.
Matchmaking has been broken since the specialisation patch and even more with the expansion and balance isn’t existing anymore for more than 3 weeks. There was supposed to be a league with HoT but we can’t even play with the old ranked mmr anymore. When will we see any fixes and how will you do it? Because the current system has me as far from it as I was 2 years ago.

A very annoying bug that makes it so the skill effect of Hunter’s Ward gets cut when a few other skill effects happen close by. You can still see the animation the DH does while he casts the spell but you have no idea where he is casting it at which makes dodging it extremly hard. The wall it creates around targets is invisible too for them which makes for ‘funny’ moments of “why can’t I move?” and “why can’t I dodge?”. I’m not sure if this is bound with any graphical option because it’s hard to replicate since it seems to mainly happen in teamfights.
So you don’t see projectiles dropping onto your ehad like rain? Well than you must be blind. If I can see it from other DH why cant you?
There’s a trap that prevents dodging, and it appears to be bugged and invisible right now.
Apparently I’m not the only one but he mistakenly thinks its a trap.
When ppl don’t dodge LB#5 attack they deserve to die from traps.
99% ppl have no awareness about whats happening around them, when they die from burst dmg of traps they are to blame ->QQ inc. to forum about DH traps.
It’s funny. I have never actually seen the animation for LB#5. I may see the guard standing there and casting it but I cannot see where he shots it and suddenly am caged, which I still can’t see and just realize after I apparently run into a wall.
The real difference between casual pve and wvw in my opinion is that pve players complain a lot more – but well, that’s my perception.
Let me tell you from my perspective, which means from someone who has been in multiple wvw guilds of highly different skill levels. They (about 33% of the members) complain, they do it often and they do it about pretty much everything. But they don’t do it in chat.
The problem really isn’t with the berserker line though (well it is, but here’s why). The real problem is that the core warrior is designed for group “offensive” support and raw damage. Revs do what we can do better with even more boons plus stacking might (may not be a max 25 all the time like PS but they also grant others constantly, too, WHILE doing very good damage output bursts). With the exception of warrior support skills, the others are very selfish. Enderp pain (stances in general) and so this doesn’t help us being stuck with a single build in PvE.
As for PvP, our burst skills are “meh” in most cases and may be blinded, invulned, blocked, etc… not really even devastating in PvP even IF you do land it (no benefit to land it, if you miss, you lost something important).
Speaking of Adren, why do Necros get to keep their LF after combat and we don’t? “Because it’s harder to get?” That’s BS. Full LF necro is WAAAAY more difficult to take down than one that doesn’t have any – even half.
Anyways, our conditions WERE good until they gave us torment on S OH 4 – zzzzzz. I remember spiking people for 22 bleeds which is crazy damage even without burning. Purge it? That’s fine, have at least another 10 right after. LOTS of pressure. Torment is alright, but it was a hidden nerf IMO.
Warrior just hardly has any true pressure anymore and too many passives (in PvP). Counter-play is a must; not el-oh-el chronomancer blind/invuln/stealth/1v3 with ease – which is already a joke.
Core class needs to be updated and berserker should just be power based or perhaps make the bursts strong with a BENEFIT (adren regen maybe?).
IDK, just throwing my opinions out there. What do you think?
For me personally berserker is more fun. The problems I have with warrior lies within base warrior. There’s really not much I can suggest since I don’t main warrior but making berserker the cure to all problems would be the wrong approach.
Has anyone hit moving targets with the sword burst skill? The projectil speed feels like you can just outrun it being infight with swiftness and strafing removes any chance to hit someone.
Let this be a feature! This is just amazing.
For me this MMR feels worse. Maybe I was just unlucky with the teams I got but for the most part I got people that did silly things. Leaving all caped points open for decap and stuff like that.

Way to over nerf something that’s not good to begin with. Shame ele balance isn’t really looked at yet. Maybe next year.

Congrats, I surprised they refunded you after what customer support told me.
They actualy did even cooler thing. They refund difference between old and current prices so I still have all finishers unlocked and got back 7448 gems. They had to put real effort to recalculate all that stuff witch is trully awesome. Thx for that:-)
Maybe update the first post with this info so others can get the hint to do the same thing if they are in a similar case.
Other than that, putting these finishers into blc is really dumb. It doesn’t improve the chests at all, it reduces the worth of those finishers, it doesn’t add anything anywhere. Instead they could have split up those things. Create a new finisher rewardtrack, add one to a new achievement, stuff that actually makes people do stuff. A few months from now these finishers will be available for like 20s on the tp…
Personally, I wait a week or two and buy many of them but that doesn’t make me excited.
It was far better what they did with toxic and scarlet skins. It was a grind not really worth it but it made me appreciate those skins.

There is diversity but many builds fall out of the loop on a higher skill level. Not all builds can work on every level and some builds are only favored in a certain meta. Some builds dominate the beginner stage but can be easily countered if you learn what its weakness is. Many people also want to play proven powerful and easy to learn builds.
Still hoped they would replace it with an actual interesting trait.
What you’re saying is you need to bash someone for his leaderboard placement instead of simply making a counterargument? You do realize there are a few posters that do not use their main account in the forum?
And even if the poster is inexperienced, why shouldn’t someone with little experience open a QQ thread? If it isn’t a problem there are more than enough people to correct the issue without attacking the poster for his leaderboard position.
