Heh, try patching network devices in a major network without giving any advanced information to anyone as to what you are updating or why the network is down. One, I might get fired, and two, my customers will be none too happy. And if things don’t go as advertised? I sent out notifications to all detailing what changed and what didn’t and the plan of action for the hotfixes if any need to get done. Mandatory for my job.

The point is, in a customer service environment (especially these days) people want to be kept in the loop. Is that really so bad (or hard to compensate for?)

the issue with MF is that if the games based around team work and making friends then why is there a stat thats basically there to promote selfish attitudes?

Its not that the stat is evil. Its the fact that the people wearing it have such little respect for their fellow players that they to be are dregs of the community. if ya want to build yourself around selfish motives then go do it on your own. Nurfing yourself (and your group) just for selfish gains proves your not worthy of taking up a slot in a group imo.

Its about attitudes not player skill to me.

sounded to be like ya was basically asking for a PTR like wow has. Which is 99% pointless except for stress testing the server. PTR’s generally work very well only if the players allowed in are selective and are in there to do the job of testing and not freeloading sneek peeks.

That’s exactly what we do—we can’t be 100% sure on ANYTHING until we actually release the update, so we pre-announce nothing.

You do fractals to get loot. At 20, the only unique loot is the rings with agony resistance tacked onto them. Why would you need agony resistance? To do higher level fractals! Why would you do higher level fractals? To get loot! …Wait, what?

No matter how much increased chance you get. It is easier, faster and more profitable just to do fractal 10 dailies.

If legendaries are going to be discussed by devs as these wonderful items that only the very top players can achieve, then they should make strides to fix that problem.

No, I want to make them harder to obtain, not easier.

There’s nothing “challenging” about buying your legendary on the Trading Post.

Earning that much coin legit is as difficult as getting the legendary. The legendary is just a massive time sink with zero skill involved, just like earning the gold to buy one. The part most people hate and cba with is the RNG for the precursor. Do away with that though and watch everyone wandering around with a legendary. I know its the only thing holding me back. Im not the type to invest a huge ammount of time and money into a slot machine. But I dont begrudge the system even if its not to my tastes. I accept the fact its not for me and enjoy the game without a shiny stick.

Now if Anet want to revisit the precursor lottery then good for them(with the scavanger hunt idea). Im just glad they aint doing it at the expense of things that NEED changing or fixing. Legendarys aint NEEDED to enjoy the game for most of the playerbase, but the core game is.

And since the Legendary weapons are such a tiny fraction of a game, Id say its reasonable for patches that are aimed at the games “core” aintgoing to worry about some shiny weapon. The games got bigger issues than some precursors, and I for one am glad they worrying about those first.

Just North of Penitent waypoint is a little ridge that had like five mithril ore nodes. When I mined one of them all the others just disappeared. I relogged to see if it was just a simple graphic error or such and it didnt change a thing.

Honestly I like the beta version more, but Im not gonna lose any sleep over it considering ya only see ya toons back for 99.99% of ya gaming time.

people forget that Anet are trying to lure in more players than GW1 had. So all the referances about what made GW1 is irrelevant. Its not the same game, deal with it. Its getting boring to hear about GW1 when most of GW2 players didnt even play it.

Granted GW1 may have been an awesome game to those that played it, but as a buisness would you opt for the model that nets you more people (more money; kinda the reason they are in buisness) or stick to one that worked for a select few? I know which one id sure as hell go for if it was my millions id invested.

I may just be the unluckiest player in the entirety of GW2, but there is far too much in this game left to “luck”.

40+ daily attempts at fractals, no fractal sword or greatsword.

400+ attempts at dusk/dawn from MF, using either rares or exotics

40+ hours farming lodestones, 2 charged and 5 (or 6, i lost count) corrupted. (Yeah, thats it)

So what do I have to show for my work put into the game?

A bunch of useless tokens, all my gold gone to gambling trying to get a precursor the only way I can (hoping for a drop from a chest, and also MFing it up)

I have 15 shards of crystallized mists essence. Can’t use them for a SINGLE thing. 46 Pristine fractal relics, that I can purchase rings that I cant salvage, mf, or sell to other players.

A gift of ascension, that I cant even use without 250 ectos (which is ridiculous imo).

Not a single precursor, not a single fractal weapon I want (and in 40+ dailies, only one fractal weapon, and it was a rifle (which I cant even use)). This is further insulting when I see people walking around with 3-4 of these.

So how am I being rewarded? I want to accomplish something in the game, and I have put my fair bit of time and effort into it. I have given you lots of RL money for gems. Why should I keep playing, and keep giving you money anet? Please help me out here, because I am having a hard time feeling as if I should.

(yes, this is a QQ post I guess, but I need to vent after another lump of money has been wasted trying to get my precursor.)

Just stop playing for a bit. Sounds like ya burning out playing so much. Log off go play something else til the big patches hit. Ya wont go grey or tear ya hair out then. Its a young game, always going to be teething problems. Id not get to worked up about it just yet.

If you are expanding the story then please for the love of god, do not have traherne in it. Or if you do please let him be corruted and we finally get to slice his useless head off. I loved the story as a whole but the 1st time round traherne is bearable due to to wanting to know what happens next. But the leafhead is so wooden (pun not intended).

More stuff for karma is a must. Most things out there just aint that attractive and having it as resorce instead of tokens could be a good work around.

I remember many people QQing about acended gear yet it still happened. Even though they all thought they were the majority. its been said a thousand times before, the forums just aint an accurate reflection of the playerbase. And if given mounts no one is forcing you to use them yourself. Stop being selfish and trying to force your view on others. And its funny when specifically asked about mounts a developer said said they never said they wouldnt ever happen. Just very unlikely for a long time. If it took any actual skill to obtain a legendary then maybe the whole arguement against them being sold could hold some water. So someone dont want to spend their time running round chasing the RNG monster that is the legendary. They use that time to make gold and buy it.

No one got perma banned for making 5g.
Tbh im all against exploiters, but this one was to close to the bone to be perma banning people. Its almost like people have to now walk around and think “if I make money instead of buying it with gems is it an exploit?”

ive seen how people tried to liken those that crafted and salavaged this were theives. Didnt realise they went around in hoods stealing the base mats to craft this stuff. Most Anet should have done was warned the people and rebalanced their gold instead. To me the perm bans prove just how desperate Anet is to stop people making gold.

the ability to move and rescale elements of the UI is what Id ask for the most of your list. Its seriously lame the UI atm in my eyes.

Id love to see larger dungeons also. The rewards dont have to be greater but would be fun to roll up with more peeps. But I would have to demand some kind of particle effects slider. As melee is crap not seeing a mobs animations due to burns etc on them. Which would be more compounded if more players.

better idea would be that there is no INSPECT and either MF gear is done away with or un-equipable inside dungeons.

WoW hasn’t gotten 10.1 million subs and kept 8 million of them for years like this by banning large numbers of players for this kind of behavior. Warnings usually don’t work. What I saw in other games was a sudden drop on the server going down, a rollback while they posted on the forums that they were correcting a potentially game breaking bug, then when the servers came back up the items that were in question were gone and the auction house of the game was cleared out of that particular item. What would happen is all those people who made these things would have lost alot of gold and left the game and the accounts with too many of a particular item say above 120 ectos would be investigated for this type of behavior and then banned instead of how it was handled and then getting backlash about it from the community. That’s what I would imagine would have kept so many people from complaining.

But I also would imagine that people wouldn’t be doing these exploits if the drop rate problem was addressed properly.

nah rollbacks are crap. Why should people have their work undone that they did legit to combat exploitors. You may think differently but to me those people who were just out n about doing their daily playing shouldnt have their game effected cos of a few selfish greedy people.

And the drop rate thing has ZERO effect on weather people exploit or not. These sort will exploit because they are just greedy. Its nothing complicated.

Also i feel a post on the forums about it isnt enough. What if someone thought this was legit and did it a few times after the warning went out on the forums? Should they be punished cos they wanted to the play the game over checking forums. I dont think they should. They can hotfix stuff into the game so a global warning to players isnt beyond reason if they are going to threaten with ban hammers.

I took my main and an alt to a JP start point in LA. Took turns in relogging while tidying my room. 30 mins later. JP part of the monthly all done.

W3 aint a part of the game i frequent but the monthly tempts me into going. I dont need the coins or karma so Im not “forced” but the carrots there so its upto me if I wanna take a bite of it.

No one forces you to do the monthly. So if there is something you really dont like about it. Dont do it. Your not forces to do it since the rewards can be gained elsewhere.

well they are reworking the dungeons so maybe this is something they have already addressed internally.
