I just finished reading EoD again last night, and Rytlock only got half a chance to use the spear. Snaff was overrun by minions while shutting down Kralkatorrik’s mind; when the connection was broken, Rytlock was still running toward him. So instead of using all his muscle and body weight to pierce the dragon’s heart, Rytlock threw the spear and it just bounced off, into the crater where Kralk landed. So it’s likely buried under sand, glass, and minions…until we get to it.

Reading the book again made me wonder if there is still a part of Snaff’s mind inside Kralkatorrik’s. He was pretty far in there, and made the dragon fall out of the sky, all while connected using power stones made from the dragon’s blood. I’d also like to know what Caithe did with all of the green droplets she picked up from the dragonbrand. I’ve waited this long, hopefully some answers will come when we get to the desert.

I was in Bloodstone Fen also, disconnected mid-fight. Restarted my computer but have the same result on regular and demo characters. It’s not my network because my wife’s computer is running GW2 right now.

I’m getting the error too, about to restart and see what happens.

Edit: everything seems to be working fine after reboot.

I think the temporary meta-farm will be the incoming group leather farm. I can’t wait to get my alt’s hands on that!

To the ANet staff

The only way this could ever be possible is if each item was deposited to gear storage or something, the way materials are deposited. They’d have to stay account bound and unsalvageable/no forge/no merch. There is so much more we need before this is even on a post-it note in Anet’s office. It’s easier and cheaper for everyone to switch gear in the shared inventory slots. If all you want access to all stats all the time, see Legendaries or how to swap stats on ascended gear.

There really isn’t a reason to change it. The royal terrace pass and and captain’s airship pass have always worked like this. Instead of waiting for this change to not happen, it’s easier to go to the PvP lobby or guild hall (if you have access to it) for banking and merchant needs.

Short answer: it’s based on the Chinese New Year, and the dates change each year.

This year it falls on January 28th. Of course, I can’t speak for in-game activities, but I’m guessing a backpack lantern will become available again.

This item is already exclusive enough; the high crafting level requirement and materials needed to make it almost guarantee that.
It’s the recipe that needs a source. The pact network agents is too easy, and rng already did it’s thing and gave us the current tp price. I’d really like to see the gauntlet come back and have the recipe be one of the reward choices. But then the gauntlet needs fixed too…Has anyone seen extra renovations yet? No?
Edit: maybe the gift dolyak is smuggling building materials down and we’ll get to visit the gauntlet for the lunar new year.

Yes, we could be greeted cheerfully, but more likely berated for not coming home more, or even asked to leave until we can stop farming ‘their’ instance. Lol @ real world in Tyria.

Back in GW1 we had NPC henchmen and heroes with real damage, each one got their own profession(s) and function and you could set up your group as you wish
On the other hand story missions could also fail completely, so you had to start all over again if your group was defeated.

Aion had wings and gliding when GW2 was still in developement and in new games like Revelation you can fly, too (although it seems to be endless there).

The henchmen and heroes were great in gw2 because their skills did damage, and you could make them use which skills you wanted. Now that’s one person fighting as a team!
Aion had gliding first, but wings were simultaneous, sort of. When Aion was released (maybe preordered) there was a chance to get those wings on a GW1 account.

Edit: the current NPCs seem to be there for enemy distraction, you kill some while the npc harasses the rest, and occasional revives. Other than that, squishy meat bags that talk.

Now I want my mesmer to run around in a straight jacket. Followed by a legion of cats.

As someone that’s maxed out on shared inventory slots, I still want this. I feel like I spend too much time preparing to go to a specific area instead of actually playing. Do I have the map currency, food / utility boosts, keys and all that? Most of the time, yes, because of shared slots. But lately, new maps = new items & currency. And new ways to get there. Ember Bay even has two, the portal scroll and lava lounge pass. I wouldn’t mind being able to get a few more shared slots, but I’d prefer a way to consolidate AND share.

So for the tl;dr crowd:
The Tyrian Passport: for all scrolls, passes, portal stones, teleport to friend, watchwork devices, and rift stabilizers. Double click for your list of destinations.
The Apothecary: food, utilities, consumable boosts, temporary and endless tonics. Added to the inventory window, similar to the wallet, double click to use.
The Keychain: all your keys and stuff to open…other stuff. Also used like the wallet.
The Curio: craftable for your home instance; account unlock. Stores special event items and trophies: candy-powered matter meter, krait obelisk transcriber, Tassi’s relay golem, and I’d even argue to have legendary (Juggernaut, Nevermore) volumes added, they were NOT easy to get.

If I were more of a packrat, I’d be a Skritt, but I don’t keep shinies, I keep trophies. Anet, please help me maintain my inventory, trophies, and some sanity by implementing some of these ideas.

That would be a really fun effect, it definitely needs to be added! It’s perfect for the guardian’s Symbol of blades, and revenant’s Unrelenting assault would come with multiple lightning strikes

I received a total of four that I know of so far, all in different languages. I have no problem with anet sending me one, because I signed up to receive them, but not four. And other languages? Kind of a waste of time. More of a waste of time because I already bought what they’re selling. Time to unsubscribe.

I had the same issue trying to get any hits in on that event. After a lot of waiting and no luck, I went back to the area after a patch and it started shortly after I got there. Near daily reset may also be a good time to go.

I vote for Colin also. Renaming the Labyrinthine Horror to Colin would be a funny tribute to a very nice man who worked for ANet for so many years.

I’ve noticed that the Bloody Prince’s staff, which summons a bat familiar, also offers feline communication with the bat. Probably something overlooked that needs to be changed.

Trophies such as investigation kits, the candy powered matter meter, holographic communicator (i’ve kept every special event item since launch)

Whichever way these items are decided, I’m already excited to get the blade shards into a storage spot!

I think the raven will be my goal too, since this is basically a re-release of the past few years. I was hoping, as I did last year, that the Emissary of the Mad King title would be attainable. I played the kitten outta that first Halloween, despite disconnects and the bug that kept resetting my progress.
So since this is all the same content, what can’t the title be available also? I’d rather chase that goal with my time :/

I get the issue with the charr, but what’s the problem with the other three races? Humans were never at war with any of them.

Well, there was that issue with Sylvari going minion crazy, destroying LA, killing the zephyrites, the more direct attack on DR in the crown pavilion, and the fallout of that in The Dragon’s Reach part 2. Right now general distrust of all Sylvari is high because of recent events.

It would also make sense that the crown, and ministry, need to keep playing nice with the Asura for the sake of gate tech, otherwise the trip to Ebonhawke would be much longer.

I’m curious to see if Demmi will be making a return, she has a very personal stake in this. The obvious one is Caudecus himself, but if Lady Valette Wi is indeed a daughter of the OoW Lady Wi, then the two very likely grew up seeing a lot of each other and suggests Valette is also undercover.

The clipping issue alone on a Charr with…two tails? Waitasec, if the tail can be dyed blue…we could have a Sonic the Charrhog! The name is a work in progress

As for the RPers, I have no issue. It’s not my thing, but the point is to play and enjoy how you want, so I just jog on.
I hope there will be more costume items like this instead of full outfits, the customization is great!

I may get this one for my wife, but I’ll pass. It’s great that anet is putting some fun costume pieces in the game, the hook hand that was released a while back was just what I’d been wanting! I feel an uneasy shudder building though, how long until we see someone RP a human pretending to be a charr with those ears?

As for the Guild Halls’ gathering nodes, a slightly different outcome today. The cloth node in Lost Precipice finally showed up on my screen and I could gather from it! I’m still having the same luck with the Gilded Hollow leather node though; it is visible, but I don’t get anything when I gather from it. A bug report is in, we’ll see where it goes from here.

No, this isn’t about making tools account bound or anything like that. I’m wondering if anyone else had this happen; I was collecting from all the nodes in the guild halls, and in the Gilded Hollow there is a leather node. I was thrilled and ran right to it, only to have my character harvest…nothing. I’m not sure if it’s a bug, if I need guild permissions, or something else entirely. Two days I tried to harvest it, but got nothing. I was using an unlimited logger, so I’m not sure if it would have used charges from a limited use logger, and I didn’t see this node present at all in Lost Precipice. Anyone know what’s going on with that?

Next up: someone in Ember Bay pinged a set of gathering tools that had a chance to give unbound magic in addition to the node material, are those available in game now?

That’s a good twist; I went a little more sideways and thought, what if Primordus emerged at RoF, and Lazarus was working with him? I found his closing dialog interesting, seek shelter with me or you’re welcome to burn.

It could also just be, well, a lot of things, but that was my impression.

I would love to see a permanent unranked PVP map using the mechanics and terrain similar to that from Bloodstone Fen. I’m sure it would be unbalanced as a skritt on a unicycle, but it sure would be fun.

I agree the range on those rocks is obscene. I’ve been hit by several in a row and fallen to my death, but the range on the glider attacks is the same. Enemies that are too far away to be seen can still be hit. I’d say the physics of the rocks should be fixed because they change direction to follow their target, but a bloodstone exploded and I’m hallucinating Anomalies all over the place. So, ya know, priorities

I did pretty much the exact same thing and chose the divinity’s reach rucksack on one of my humans. I’m hoping support can help me out and I can exchange it, but if not at least I’ll have a feather in my cap.

Fourth day in a row this disconnect has happened. Getting tired of working on events that can’t be finished because of it. Stopping before I give in to the desire to cuss you out.

A couple years ago I went through all the character starting instances (races and classes) to unlock the skins in the wardrobe.

I’m pretty sick of wvw right now. It seems, lately, whenever I go in there it’s all just running around. And then ambushed. And then repeat. It’s pointless and frustrating.
I won’t waste time here going down a list of should have, could have, would have… But that’s also pointless and frustrating. But we’re almost back to where we started: people having to grind a game mode because it’s the only way to get a required material. So sick of it.

I started the lengthy process of making Mjolnir a while ago, and hit a wall on the charged lodestones. I’d really appreciate any help that can be given

Another Ranger knockback? No, please no!

Adding a new skin for the weapon doesn’t change the skills, and rangers don’t have knockback on axe.

In fact rangers only have 3 land-based knockback skills, the same as elementalists and fewer than warriors or engineers. But there seems to be a common myth among some players that any time an enemy changes position unexpectedly it’s because a ranger has magically used a knockback skill on a weapon that doesn’t have one. Even if there isn’t actually a ranger in the group.

Yeah ok, even when I play as a ranger I don’t need another knockback, and not from a pet. Maybe instead it could leap and stomp the ground, dazing enemies.
But these are only what ifs

That would be a fun weapon! I’d also like to see a hook hand that’s a dagger, perfect for a pirate thief.
A kangaroo pet would have good knockback(kickback?) potential. And maybe a fun mini, especially if it had boxing gloves. And hey, then you can bring back boxing gloves to the gem store. But that’s another thread...

Check out your hero panel, anything marked with green is a HoT mastery, red is central Tyria. Fortunately there are many to choose from when the strongboxes and insights are completed.

I’m really hoping it’s a bad patch too, maybe today’s will fix some of my luck :p
Maybe by the time I get the sparks I need, the problem of making amalgamated gemstones will be solved.

All the pods were opened in Dragon’s Stand, and all the caches were opened in Tangled Depths, all after I finished events and looting, and ZERO sparks was the result. I know RNGesus has forsaken me, but 0/60+ containers has got to be something else.

@TexZero: as stated above, I did open crystallized supply caches and their contents before leaving the map. Also, ley line sparks are supposed to be available from pods and caches, according to wiki. I don’t want to debate which is better when both are valid sources, I want to know why both types didn’t give any of these as rewards.

Over the past few days has anyone noticed a decrease in the amount of ley line sparks? I had max participation on two runs against Mordremoth, collected and opened about 45 noxious pods, and 15-20 crystallized supply caches from tangled depths. Out of all of those, there were ZERO sparks. I know for sure because I had zero when I started the runs.
I got a ton of ley line crystals and other loot, but no sparks. The Dragon fights were different toons, different days, and blended with other personal story, world exploration and bosses. Anyone have a similar issue?

I did the same thing when HoT was released. Without even taking a step in the starting story instance my revenant was at 80 with ascended armor and weapons. Issormir was never an easier kill.
