What’s the weapon you’ve seen the least in game? This isn’t necessarily the most expensive, nor do underwater weapons count since then, the legendary spear, trident and harpoon gun would be defacto winners.
Personally, I’ve only ever seen Infinite Light wielded once. When you look at the modest appearance and lodestone cost the reason becomes apparent. That’s a fair pile of orichalcum you need as well!
Smiled on seeing this. Picking Infinite Light my self as my main weapon choice

Like others have said,
You’ll struggle to get the full experience of what a Mac can offer gaming and what Guild Wars 2 can offer as a whole;
If the MacBook is just a casual approach to gaming and you can play Guild Wars 2 on a pc or more focused system I’d recommend doing that for all your main Fractal, Raiding of such content.
Personally unless I’m just doing some map completion or Daily Achievements i’ll game on my dedicated Gaming PC in 4K.
Otherwise if I’m just fancying doing my dailies or exploring maps for completion and would like to chill out with the TV in front of me I pull my Retina MB out.
Now my MacBook is a mid 2015 Retina 15’ system, 2.2Ghz i7 Quad Core, 16gb DDR3 Ram, 1536mb Iris Pro Graphics (yes i bought the entry 15").
On low settings with Medium Textures and Normal Sampling at 2048 × 1280 resolution i get on average between 20-40FPS depending on location. So I wouldn’t buy a Mac for focused gaming. Stick to PC for that a lot better support for your hardware over there.
Control wise it doesn’t feel as precise as a Windows machine. Even if you use a mouse with your Mac. Personally I much prefer gaming keyboards and mice.
Granted most people buy Macs for productivity and pure kitten appeal. Hell i did. Great for ALOT of things but gaming just isn’t one (yet).
Hi all,
In the upcoming Spring 2016 Quarterly Update, we’ll launch the new legendary short bow, Chuka and Champawat. The team outdid themselves on this one. This new precursor journey takes you through a memorable experience inspired by a real-world story, and the bow you craft at the end is the perfect commemoration of that journey. I hope you all check it out.
Last year we talked about plans to gradually build out a second set of legendary weapons through live content updates. That’s a big responsibility. We have a team of six developers working on that, who could work on it for years to come.
As game director I have to make tough trade-offs. One thing I believe is that we have to focus on the core game first before taking on additional responsibilities. I wrote in the Guild Wars 2 Design Manifesto in 2010 that our vision was to create a living, dynamic world, where there’s always something to do. Let’s ensure we succeed on that front.
So, after shipping Chuka and Champawat, I’ve asked that we indefinitely suspend work on new legendary weapons. This team of developers will instead shift their efforts back to Living World style content, building new journeys and events for everyone to participate in.
I know this will be a controversial decision. I’ll hang out with you here on the forums for a little while today to discuss it. And I’m always available by email.

I’ll add my comment on this; I’m a little disappointed that the work to 2nd generation legendary weapons is cut short so early. However it’s great that the team will be focusing more on living world content. Personally I was looking forward to seeing the full range of 2nd generation legendary weapons anet was going to offer, but clearly living world does holds more priority.
Further more upon reading some of the reply to messages one caught my eye about a half shipped expansion; I do feel this is unfair towards anet staff! Adding to your list you also forgot to mention you also shipped; raid wings 1 and 2 with a full collection chain for building precursor armor! That’s alot of work alone to contend with!
I my self am still way behind on experiencing all of what Hot has to offer! So I think these folk who have gripes about a half shipped expansion want experience some of anets rivals on expansion content, without naming any, anet has managed alot of content for a one off price! And people don’t forget this.
Great respect for the team, I know first hand the length of time it takes to push out some of the content at hand we have! Coming from a BSc Computer Science Dev!
Looking forward to playing further into the lore of Guild Wars 2.

Wellllllllll least it want the 5 engines I had yesterday… And that was just my team! The other team has 2 engines taking it to 7 engines in the whole match. Loo
Good spot. I’ve seen that item hundreds of times and never noticed lol
I have seen it go beneath the ground on several occasions and give me “obstructed” when trying to fear it. Otherwise I can usually see it pretty clearly.
Never incountered that before and I run Spvp as an engie. If unable to knock back I can understand as people run with stability on there gyros.
Yeah, it would be nice if it did visually more than just hang around in their air.
Well if you fail to spot it I have no other words. The gyro is either with the user (engie) right by his shoulder and follows his every step or if activated it’s at an allies or enemies body. But as previous mentioned it becomes bigger like the skill gyros so it’s more visible. But if you watch it. It does the finisher mote with the white light ball thing.
Who cares about visibility when the AI itself only works half the time?
How does it only work half the time? Works everytime for me.
I’m not quite sure what you expect anet to change about it?..
Hmm, it’s already clearly visible, a gyro hangs over your soon to be corpse with the light ball effect of the punch also visible. The gyro also gains a health bar to see. The gyro also becomes slightly bigger when its being used.
Most people just don’t pay attention to a possible gyro stomp. But the signs are clearly there.
they ARE being used for matchmaking
you’re getting matched with teammates of similar mmr, you’re simply not getting matched against opponents of similar mmr now.
Total BS, I made it to Ruby last season, why I’m I playing against Primordial Legends then…? and one of those was a Pro League player..
So yeh sure similar MMR
MMR isn’t used as factor (or primary factor) when determining your opponents, pip range is.
MMR is used as the main factor for your teammates, aka if you’re a good player, you get good teammates, if you’re a bad player you get bad teammates.
Unfortunately, the side effect of this in the first few days of the season is bad players (such as yourself) getting farmed by good players until they move out of your pip range (10+ pips more than you have)
Wouldn’t consider myself a “bad player”. But sure that’s your opinion and your entitled to it. Pretty sure given the time I can make it all the way this season.

Or just give JAGEX a call, they destroyed the ENTIRE RuneScape botting scene overnight with one of there developed anti botting softwares.
Pretty funny to see actually. It just killed any bot that was in game, then the system perma banned them and there ip, and the bots around at the time were extremely advanced pieces of software.!
(edited by Millssta.9064)
Wait till you see it in 4k, that made me smile for every penny I spent on my 4k monitor
I can’t help but feel some of these ideas are taking straight from JAGEX’s Runescape lol. I mean c’mon houses. Firemaking, fishing?
But +1 for fishing however, could be useful I mean we can gather from plants to make food, aswell as animals, why not have preset 3 gather fishing spots for those seafood consumables.
-1 for houses, one of runescape biggest fails. Good fun to waste your money but maybe some customising in the home instance would be a better avenue.
On the fence for firemaking, can’t see its benefits in gw2, in rs it’s used to cook anywhere you want, in gw2 we have no need to eat food for hp. Different story in rs when food is your way to regenerate health.
Geforce own recommendations for max. settings

While I have no experience in the card you mentioned ;
I run 780 standard reference cooler(no oc), 5820k (oc-3.6ghz), 4k res(3840×2160) max settings (except shadows. That’s on high), smaa high, 30fps in cities, 30-50fps in pve(core), 20-30fps in pve(hot), 40fps in pvp matches, 100 man zerg fights WvW 20fps. Geforce are capable of far more than prescribed by advised stats.
( Taken from my Thread https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/New-toggle-options/first#post5954019 )
——
It seems a minor inconvenience but it would be nice to have some sort of onscreen confirmation that the new; Auto Targ and Ground Targ options are toggled on/off.
Map speed running for WP is must easier with Targ off, but from time to time, I tend to hit Auto Targ Tog on, but without any onscreen confirmation, I’m unaware if I’ve hit the correct key to turn this on.
Ditto for the other way around, I go back to speed running and am unaware I might have hit the wrong key to turn it off, So I end up attacking something with a swiftness boost skill.
It’s a minor issue, but it would be a better system to implement if a confirmation on screen showed up.

If you skipped alot of personal story you missed the formation.
You eventually gain title of commander. Thus giving you leading responsibility of your group. But before this it’s all about joining up with the “pact” not a guild as such but more of a Coalition army. Joining the 3 orders together to unite and fight against Tyrias elder dragons.
What really. 5 hours? I soloed that with an ele in full apocthacary lol. Like seriously it’s not that hard. The mechanics are simple enough to follow
I did have trouble on what to do with the “powerful” charge up attack. But that’s so easy now I know what to do. Only issue I have is the bug were a portal is on the outside of the map >< forcing me to reset.
Other than that the dianamic dialog from your team explains what to do for each phase.
As for phase 3 didn’t you notice the vortex’s you can jump into to shoot into the air to pull out your glider…? Listen to dialog your team says shield or get somewhere high (I.e glide) that’s how I done it.

Seriously? If your struggling to gain spirit shards there’s issues how you play the game to get them… I mean they drop more frequently compared to previous skill points.
I struggled to keep a good upkeep on skill points for legendary. Now with spirit shards I can get thay much of them with such little effort I’m actually finding I have hundreds spare between legendary crafting
Celestial maybe a better option to zerger. Celestial seems the in build today with such changes to there stats. Don’t personally run it my self. I’ve played my usage around apocthacary and zerger in the past sp stuck with those for pve and WvW.
From what I’ve noticed. Everyone is receiving issues relating to the win10 move. Blame nvidia for this, I can’t vouch for amd however. Very poor drivers atm. Anyone who says no issues is just not looking close enough. Or feel the fps they’ve lost isn’t worth calling it a problem.
From what I’ve seen “everyone” has an issue, lowered fps even if it’s 10fps lower over 8.1/7
I run an x99 setup slight oc, 2800mhz, 2 way sli 780 with a 1,000mhz oc.
I’ve noticed huge differences while playing gw2 I run 5760×1080 and previously I Could maintain 30-40fps in major populated areas like pvp lobby and la. Recently with driver 355.60 and win10 I’m noticing approx 10-20fps. Feels horrendous.
Playing is less populated areas like explorable maps throughout Tyrie I’m noticing 30-50 fps. Pvp matches approx 50 fps.
I’ve never noticed over 55 fps while previously on 8,1 I’ve noted as high as 90s in pvp matchss and explorable maps.
It’s also key to note changing to 1920×1080 I still suffer some fps hit at 30-40 fps in la and pvp lobbys. Still not acceptable considering my system should be playing Gw2 without effort with high fps on a single monitor.
i’ll change slots but I’m pretty sure theres no bottleneck what so ever between x16 and x8.
they use both 2.0×8 atm. but everything is as is previous to driver and game updates?
I could manage x2 the fps I’m getting now with all settings and such the same?
Thanks for response everyone.
First of all. I’ve tried various different settings SMAA high low, No AA, shadows off ect ect ect. Checked PCI bus, x8/x16. no difference what so ever. Currently DDU’ing drivers for a fresh reinstall see if that helps.
Even in 1920×1080 I get poor fps performance also.
NVidia users seem to have often some issues .. else it works fine.
Most are due to a crappy driver. If you (someone reading this) have issues, just get an older windows 8.1. driver (which works fine on windows 10)
Which driver do you suggest, I’m running w10 with NVidia Sli driver 353.60 and kitten the FPS is so bad. I run 5760×1080 but even on 1920×1080 fps isn’t what it used to be, hard to tell if its drivers or the game as the game hasn’t been right for a while either
Ok Ok, Don’t often post topics as such, but this has really started to irritate me.
Previous versions of GW2 have been tremendous in terms of FPS performance. However the last few builds (1 month or 2) have been pretty terrible.
Lets start off with the some specs;
i7 57820K : OC 3.7Ghz (All cores unparked)
16Gb 2800Mhz Ram
2-Way SLI 780 3Gb : OC 10% Aprox
Windows 10 Pro
5760×1080p Res
Max settings SMAA High, Ultra Shadows High Character Model Limit & Quality
The same scenery which relates to the Big cities like LA, Previously I could manage a nice 30-35FPS in LA with a good amount of characters on screen. Recently its been a terrible low 8FPS to a max of 20FPS. This makes it feel sluggish. However sitting around in DR I’m able to hit 25-30FPS in certain area’s but further testing I’ve seen as low as 13FPS in DR, This is acceptable its playable.
Open world explorable maps are a good FPS, 30-50 FPS depending on area, scenery and char models.
PVP Lobby feels like LA low 8-19FPS very sluggish feel. PVP matches feel great, 40+FPS stable.
Now I know the cities are huge populated areas with many characters models kicking around but my previous experiences of 5760 res I have managed much better FPS in these area’s. I’ve not even noticed more than 50% usage over all cores on my CPU either while running this game. The GPU isn’t using all Vram either, Its using a modest 2044MB when the FPS hits the lowest. Temps 77% max
I know running 5760×1080 is a huge ask for any game. Bearing in my I’m running 780’s these should be more than enough to run this game with nice stable FPS. I am planning on sticking a 3rd in there so we’ll see what gains I gain from that but to be honest I’m not banking on anything dramatic.

35g today for say, 3 hours work. Could have made more but left CF early. I sold all rares except bandit ofc salvaged all green and blue. Didnt receive any excos today and kept all t6 for fortune gifts
Remember the days Teq was so hard to beat. Or the days Cursed Shore was a nightmare to get around without mobs destroying you. VB will be the same but in time it will become easier as people learn the mobs
However isn’t challenging new content something we need

Why is it people compare HoT to previous GW1 expansions.
Heck if you wish to compare expansions, HoT sounds a lot more appealing than say FFXIV Heavensward. At least HoT is based around the Maguuma lore with LS2, So you can guarantee its will be an enjoyable story. Unlike for say FFXIV HW story which is so boring its just a pure grind.
Lets move onto the Maps or lack of as some people put it. Yes we have 3 new maps which isn’t ground breaking, BUT considering the size of what we have seen is only 25% of 1 map, that’s big alone, let me point out that, that 25% is 3/4’s of Silverwastes alone is X x Y sizes, If we add in the vertical dimension those maps become even bigger. If you wish to compare further, I’ve played FFXIV HW and the maps are yeh, Ok put it this way, but once the story is over those maps are pretty much there and that’s it. At least with GW2 there maps have a dynamic feel to them which always takes you back. Yes some area’s are less populated than others. But the fact remains HoT maps will still be bustling with zerg groups running events for a long time after release.
Let me tell you a secret also, you got 5 new skills there you mentioned. FFXIV HW as an example gave you 5 new skills per class also for the same price PLUS a £7,99 subscription on top!
So if you consider price as a factor. £39.99 in my country a one off payment to play all you can. Other MMO’s of similar kind, are EXACTLY the same PLUS subscription.
You’ll find there expansions will offer near enough the same amount of content as HoT is getting.
What will be fundamental use of these now be in HoT since Mastery track follows Mastery Points, there seems to be nothing in regards to specialisation unlock or is this something in beta’s to come?
I agree with the above. Once upon a time I came face to face with a truely epic ele in pvp. Needless to say I spawned back at camp without dealing a single dot of damage to him
Can’t say I’ve tried it to its full potential but it seemed OK. I think it’s going to be more of a focus type build for warhorn
To master this class. You need to know alot of things. Cd management as above your position a little but not as much as mesmer. You need to learn in depth what attunements you’re using. Eles can lay down some nasty aoe real quick, with support from buffs for allies in the form of health replenishment, might and toughness.
I can’t imagine maining any other class. Almost 1k hours spent as an ele in supportive role with full apothecary and staff(I know right wtf). I’m able to lay down a nice amount of might buff with a high duration time to help team mates dps. Whilst switching in might on every fire caste and element swop. Whilst you can get squashed very easily there’s also triats that I use which buff healing on a roll or attunement swop very useful against mobs.
I’ve recently started to learn full dd and s/d zerging for fotm and pvp. So even as an advanced user of elementalist classes I’m still learning new aspects to the class.
You need to know the weapons your going to be using in depth and when you need to use them.
Very rewarding once your a pro. Slaying everything in sight in pvp
I found I wasn’t locked out. No more than the usual attunement cooldown, basically. They added context in there, that had no relivence what so ever. Coinciding with my ability to not read what’s in front of me correctly. I can now see how this was an issue raised..
Further more. I’d like to see the op ability on perhaps an f5 key. Sometimes I found hitting op when I was ment to hit water or air as such.
(edited by Millssta.9064)
I agree with Kidel. Tempest write up from anet. Direct copy.
Remaining attuned to an element for a period of time will now allow you the option to overload that attunement for a short while. Once you’ve attained a singularity with the attunement, you can reactivate it to perform a special channeled ability. These abilities are so chaotic and draining that they exhaust your current attunement, locking you out of it for a period of time should you move to another element. Before you ask, yes, the Fresh Air trait will refresh your exhausted air attunement and allow you to overload it much sooner
Elementalist would defo be a jammy dodger. Irresistible to mobs because of there soft golden exterior. And even squishier on the inside with there jam. But they taste so good to refuse to have.
You can gain crazy spirit shards from sw. All those goodie bags yielded me 20+ for 3 runs of sw. Starting from 30-50% then daily for 7 days is a further 21.
It’s not that difficult. Yes more difficult than say a fresh character and just running skills challenges but I ashume that’s not how anet want you to grind them….
As title looking for WvW guild prefer to be on Whiteside. But would consider transfer.
Would prefer your guild to be full WvW focused. I’m in a pve guild currently which I won’t leave. So looking for 2nd guild for WvW raids. Will rep on raid days ofc
My Main focus is as support ele. Buffs and ranged dps. But have other classes I can use, mesmer, War, thief, guard.
PM/mail in game or leave reply.
