I just want to get to lvl 15 in WvW so I never have to set foot in that kitten show again. It’s no fun being part of a rolling ball of people and it’s even less fun being rolled over by another server’s ball of people.

GW2 has its hooks deep into me for three big reasons.
1) The combat is so frentic and each fight feels engaging.
2) The world, the design team of GW2 makes some of the most beautiful and feature rich zones I’ve ever seen.
3) The sheer amount of stuff to do. PVE, PVP, WVW, event farming, masteries, exploration, and chasing the long term goal of legendaries. I love it all.
I’d love to play SWTOR or Wildstar, but those three reasons make it hard and sometimes even boring to play anything but GW2.
Sounds like there are a lot of people with kitten rigs. I have no issues with fps or game stability so it’s hard to sympathize.
I would love an auto-compact to be honest. I’m clicking that button way too much.

So I was hoping I could get a few genuine suggestions on how to dip my toe into the wvw realm without being a total drag or detriment to my world. What would be a good first step into wvw for someone who is completely clueless about it?
I understand that there is a lot of sour grapes about the current state of wvw, yet I’d still like to familiarize myself with this part of the game.
I have no problem with gem store armor sets, but then again I would also like to see the devs put more focus on adding content to the game.
Some of the best times I’ve had so far have been in the expac areas. I don’t know what all the whining is about.
$50 for a one time/no-sub expansion seems reasonable to me, but then again value is subjective.
I don’t care what anyone says, it hurts me mentally and physically to main a class that doesn’t have access to a great sword.

My first character was a thief, then I bounced around until I hunkered down on a necromancer for a while.
Right now I main a revenant and it’s the most fun I’ve had in this game.

Is there a lot of anti-HoT sentiment? I’m honestly surprised because the expansion is amazing. The downside is that it is aimed squarely at the max level character so for a new player I’d just wait until you hit cap before buying it…and then buy it because it’s a blast imo.

The bottom line is in all things cosmetic, legendaries and outfits etc, we need less ‘Friendship is Magic My Little Pony’ items and more ‘Death Metal Viking Riding a Flaming T-Rex’.
I knew the warrior was in a bad place but I thought the daredevil was doing some interesting stuff these days.
I went Sylvari simply because the armor looked crazy on every other race, but that’s just personal preference…plus you get a little bit of a different view of the HoT content as a Sylvari.
There will always be a small subset of people that min/max a group. The flipside is that there will also be a bunch of people that don’t really care and just want to run something with other people.
In all fairness anyone kitten y enough to fall for that deserves the trouble. I mean, that big disclaimer at the bottom and the goofball domain name…come on.
Always seemed to me the Sylvari racial elite should be Hug Tree.

As a person who has a hard time focusing on just one class I envy your tunnel vision OP.
Personally I’d say take any money you are willing to blow on keys and just convert it to gold, eventually you can just buy something nice off the trading post.

Depending on how you spec if you have torment you can have poison and chill also.
Some parts of Mallyx depend on how many conditions you have on yourself. I believe the idea was to provide an upside to pulling those condis onto yourself.

These were changed to account bound. I forget who you have to take the pick to. But you give it to an NPC and they give you an account bound version. Check the wiki?

Any chance of these getting changed to Account Bound? They were the first eternal harvesting tools and were Soulbound by default although they aren’t any different than what is currently for sale in the store.

Yep I ran into this on my necro that I rushed to 80 before the xpac. I horded all the skill points I could and only developed the lines that I used. I ended up having to blow my stash of points to get to reaper.
I agree hammer 1 should be a touch faster and 2 is terrain dependent but I have no problems with the rest of the skills.
