There is a point at which a dead horse topic becomes a ‘seriously why haven’t they done it yet’ topic simply because the unrelenting desire for it.
Honestly I’d trade mini-pets for mounts any day of the week.
I saw a video of someone salvaging Eternity. I lost my kitten.
I want a double jump while we’re suggesting dream features.
Whats the deal with this dude. I’ve been trying to kill this guy for a week. Light night there were about 10 of us and he still wiped the floor with our faces. How many people should be expected to actually take him down?
Race. Change. Kit.
Come on, it’s about time.
I detest any form of gambling in an MMO. I’d much rather have static and clearly established prices for specific items.
The biggest OMG moment for me was seeing the amazing depth of the new areas. Gliding allows for zones that are almost as deep as they are wide. It’s pretty impressive.
I would absolutely vibrate with happiness to get my hands on that chainsaw greatsword skin without having to take a second mortgage out to purchase it on the AH.
I love the mask but the norn shoulders are out of control!
I think the last component drops of the legendary lich in the mad king’s maze. So…everyone come kill it with me.
Seriously I’ve been trying to get a sizeable group up to kill this guy since the event started and it’s a ghost town.
Revenant is worth rolling if only for the sick class armor and animations.
I would love be able to break down an outfit by the existing break points in equipment…helm shoulders gloves. In a perfect world every section of an outfit could be hidden or shown as desired. Maybe somewhere down the line this will make it in.
They deserve a pat on the back for an excellent expansion and a clean stable launch. Hopefully the next one doesn’t take as long to release.
What I don’t get is the push to ‘de-incentivize’ anything in a game where pretty much every action has some sort of carrot hanging out there to be grabbed. You’d think they would want everything to be rewarding and not a waste of time.
This was an easy buy for me. If only it could be filtered down to a mask only. I love that freaking head on the costume.
The most annoying part of the tower in my opinion is that once you fail you have to sit there and wait to retry instead of immediately going at it again. Drives me nuts.
But only if you fail early. When you are last to fail you jump right back in pretty quick
Spoiler alert: I fail early.

After hitting 80 I’ve filled the xp bar several times with no added skill points. Do I need to finish my class story to start receiving skill points upon levelup after level 80? Right now it’s like I"m just spinning my wheels for no reason.
I would slap my mother with a dead fish if they brought back the chainsaw greatsword skin!! Pleasepleasepleaseplease!
Since I was uplevelled I couldn’t get the omelet point and I wasn’t going to kill myself doing crab toss for days to get those points so I hunkered down for about an hour and managed to grind out that jp for the sample. I would have avoided if possible since I’m not a big jp fan, but it is possible. Once you have the first vents down it’s all cake from there.
I enjoyed the events there. The jumping puzzle was a major source of frustration while at the same time it was a major blast once I finally made it through. I spend a lot of time in the shiverpeaks so it was a good vacation from the stark scenery. My favorite part of the islands is either the tide pools or the hive. Very well done.
Quit buying these things. I refuse to listen to anyone whining about RNG boxes, quit buying them and they will stop making them.
Why is everyone so aggressively dismissive when people post videos. Are you so jaded that you have to be rocked to your foundation by every video that is posted? OP just wanted to share a video of him fighting, he didn’t want to change your life or change the way everyone plays this class.
Yep I’m not dropping another dollar on an RNG cash grab chest ever again.
Honestly I’m horrible at jumping puzzles. I suck at Super Mario Brothers. Couldn’t jump my way out of a wet paper bag…but even I managed to do the jp for this event. The hardest part is the second set of stones, about halfway theres a set of stones that always tripped me up; luckily the jet didn’t blow me off when it fired again so it was possible to continue.
Its probably just me but where are these fires at? Ive been all over the norn and charr cities in addition to lions arch and still don’t see them.
Come on devs, quit sidestepping this thread and give us a comment.
Wildstar can’t come soon enough…
@penatbater
So what if they do want more people to go warrior/guardian/mesmer/ranger – it doesn’t make greatsword special.Any warrior using greatsword is nerfing themselves – I ran tests with dual weapons vs greatsword and do more damage with dual weapons due to the extra sigil.
If Anet are going to provide more than 1 legendary for 1 type of weapon, they should do it for all types of weapons or it simply isn’t fair – there is no argument against that.
100blades > any sigil
I bought four of the things and I smile every time one of my characters pulls it out.
Travlane’s “math” is hilarious.
I instantly get a bowl of popcorn and joyfully scoot in close to the screen on any thread where he starts pulling out the ole’ X and Y equations.
Anyone saying that its hard or time consuming for a mesmer to setup a three clone shatter hasn’t played the profession. Its two button presses…three if you count the shatter.
Stealth is a class mechanic. To nerf it and make it harder to access would be like having them put a trap that stops Elementalists from switching attunements.
Like the new traps that remove stealth?
Yes, so where are the ele attunement traps?

Total damage for the entire team? Sure. Total damage for yourself ONLY? Yes. Total damage for other individuals in your group? Oh hell no. It just invites a type of in game bullying that is neither welcome here nor needed here.
I play trinity games regularly, and consistently play a tank or healer. I refuse to play DPS. With that said, if ANYONE in my group wastes my and the group’s time by kittening and whining about someone’s DPS, I boot them. Simple as that. I have the patience of Buddha when it comes to running with other people, but I will judge you by your own standards. If a player thinks that someone’s DPS being 5% lower than their own is slowing down the run so much that it needs to be addressed, then I will address the fact that their kittenty personality is slowing down the run.
tl;dr- my vote is- for yourself, sure. For others? No.
This is my favorite post ever.
The sheer amount of head scratching about the recent nerf to ELEs on this forum is mind blowing. You guys really are in denial.
If you look at the top of this page you’ll see a build sticky. Or just search for d/d build etc.
I understand the devs want to make a ‘living world’ but it’s so strange that they would remove content that people want to do. Content that they spent a considerable amount of time on. The molten facility is something that in the future people can come back to as a reminder of the living content arc that was once active.
The living world is an awesome idea but there should be a point where removing content is self defeating.
In the end, it’s their choice so that’s how the omnomberry cookie crumbles I guess…
I have a blast in dungeons with pistols as a thief.
And saying that a ranger is a con is ridiculous. Its almost like having a soulstoned warlock from wow, when they go down 99% of the time they can get back up without having other people rez them thanks to their pet.
By August all Thief characters will only be able to log in for one hour a day, naked, and with only one attack skill called Tickle Fight.
I’d be using p/p again if ANet changed vital shot to a combo finishing jump so I could stealth from BP.
Shortbow is your friend, learn it’s little tricks as you’ll be using it a lot.
Hang in there, daggers take a few traits to really be effective. In the meantime there are several other weapon combos that are good at the lower levels. This profession doesn’t start out strong like a warrior, but once you get some levels behind you it will really start to shine.
Focus the suit first, keeping max range on the minotaur, then kite the cow until you can collect phat lootz.
We learned early on that if you’re going to die, you try to get to the outer edge of the platform for easier rezzing.
Ok. Calm down. Mug was nerfed. It went from full damage to part damage part heal.
Take a breath. Now looks at the tools before you. S/D is crazy fun. You have a backup heal that does damage AND shadowsteps you to your enemy. With basilisk and the sword stealth attack you can lock someone down for quite a while.
Learn, adapt, succeed….or just reroll because if you don’t see the potential of the new tools you really shouldn’t be a thief.
What you call a bug, I call a feature….ie saves you the run back and a reset on the boss.
Do Guild Wars 2 developers really want their game to be known as the game that never seems to grow since every new addition is taken away weeks after it is introduced? New players have to dig into the game’s archives to even find out if you’ve added any new content!
It looks more like they want it it to be the game that provides weeks of wonderful solo content…and then caps it of with a WoW-clone forced-group raid as an ‘ending’.
Or maybe it’s just a cry to NCSoft that they want to explore the same job opportunities that the Paragon team currently is, given how they’re effectively just throwing away all the manpower, resources, and finances being put into this temporary content. I suspect they’ve locked their accountant in a closet or something.
That’s the goofiest thing I’ve heard all week…and I frequent the Thief forums.
You realize this is a multiplayer game right? Sorry you had to play with other people for one segment of a story arc. How torturous.
So much whining about having to group up for this dungeon. How can so many antisocial people be playing this online game? Go play your Wii if you don’t want to play with other people. That’s like going to a steakhouse and then complaining that you had to eat steak.
I had a blast in this arc and the final bosses are so much fun, it was nice to share that “Oh man this is so cool.” moment with the other people in my group.
Tho… if it was a leap ability, with Black Powder it would allow stealth. Like Heartseeker + Black Powder.
Exactly…
