Yes, it’s a good pve class it’s been one of the more popular classes in PvP too but that changes so often that I would not choose any class based on that
Look, there is so much focus on new gemstore items, the roof is basically nowhere to be found in that regard in the last years almost every month a new outfit released and there are now more backpacks and gliders anyone would ever be able to wear but somehow it is “too complicated” to make a color option on a LEGENDARY item?
Might as well come clean about it: Dear players, we are able to make it possible but we won’t since the resources we need to do that generate 10 times more making new gemstore stuff, so please just buy that instead, it’s awesome.

So that is basically saying that their current people don’t know how to do it and they need more talented people that do know how to do it?
No realistic way to make it possible to change a color of an item… really? If such a basic thing cannot be done then there is so much wrong with the game technically I cannot even begin to say how weird that is. If that is actually the case it is a giant miracle that they even where capable to create the game in the first place, so I just refuse to believe those speculations. Seriously!
They both have good value, it also depends on what you like more, i’d suggest to make both and try them out in PvP and then decide, based on the skills weapons and general feel.

Hi, I would like you guys to think about implementing the option to change up the colors on the legendary back items the way gliders and armor have this option.
I really like my legendary back item Ad Infinitum but the color’s are very hard to combine with other’s. Having the option to color the back item’s base colors gives more variation and inspires creativity.
I really hope you will consider this.

I will never buy armor until they make transmutations free. I have bought many outfits because I can freely switch between them.
Yes, I have heard more people complaining about this, and you do have a point. It is creating a threshold to be creative and swap up different skins, since if every thing you try out is going to cost you will try out less.
On the other hand, you do get the transmutation charges while playing PvP, in WvW from some reward tracks, while completing maps and opening black lion chests. So if you like to change up a lot you might consider playing more of that game content.
Maybe the solution should be that you get them more often doing other PvE game content as well?
I think that if anet actually is saying that they have trouble getting new armours in then please defer some of your excellent gemstore filling and legendary shield making ppl to the armour design team to help them since they obviously have a hard time getting it done… Oh wait! forget that I don’t want legendary fishtank armour with a quaggan helmet (and a new jellyfish glider).!
Agree on this, designers at anet do seem to love weird looking armour and they cannot get enough of trench-coats and also butt-capes for that matter, even tho nobody seems to like them, but then the anet ppl say; ppl seem to wear them so they must like them right..? Well lets just see how true that is when you start making actual cool amours.
I do get that some people like cute or silly weapons, and that is fine, also yes you could try to see a pattern tho i doubt there really is an intentional one there. You could see patterns in lots of things if you want to, it has driven people mad :P
In my opinion this ‘weapon’ is a new low in what the designers find funny / cute, okay ill admit that the quaggan hats are funny and cute too if you put them on an asura, but they are taking it way too far. Quaggan arn’t that cute, in the 4 years I play they keep pushing the quaggan merchandise to us, and I rarely see someone actually wearing anything quaggan related.
I guess it just puts me off seeing that they actually took the time and created this weird monstrosity and that I now play a game where you can have a weird looking fish tank with a ‘cute’ quaggan as a legendary weapon. I mean if we are going that direction I have some ideas as well, for instance, look at saints row, lots of fun stuff can be taken from there too.. hell give me that giant pink d…o as a gs and I’m happy, funny right? … exactly.

Totally agree on the ‘outfits’ thing its a bad invention made for consumers to consume things, and be a lemming about it, not for people who like to be creative and mix match own creations. Okay it might be harder to make etc. But I really don’t care about that I’d rather have 1 item every 3 months than a new gemstore item each week. I guess that you guys at anet are all for quality instead of quantity too right ?

Why do I have to press of click ‘F’ 3 times (or more) on a resource node, I mean there has not been one time in my life that I wanted to stop harvesting a node after the 1st ‘F’ action, it just feels silly. Please make it so that you can press ‘F’ one time and it mines / harvests or chops the entire thing in one go. Thanks ^^
If you don’t wanna read update notes just poke your head in and read reddit occasionally, they posted like 5-6 reminders that Capri was going to be pulled.
You can find and read everything somewhere on the Internet, that’s not the point, Anet should put in in the spot where you go in game and where it’s relevant, it would be just there to see for all.. amazing! By the way, they should do that with more stuff. I mean having a forum is nice and all, but do you really play a game to read trough forums everyday, just to be sure you don’t miss out on anything important. It’s just silly, put it in the game where it belongs that way more people will be better informed and will spend more time in the actual game then on a forum.

You don’t wait for rifts, you make them. It’s harder in event-choked maps like Cursed Shore, but look around for an event dot with no event on it. Equip your device while standing on that dot, press 1, and boom, you get a rift. If the map you’re in hasn’t got one you can find, wp back to Fields of Ruin, well away from the pond, and find an event dot to make your rift.
I have not found any event dots without an event on the whole map there is one rift that is spawning every few minutes but that one I can’t use.
I can’t get trough the one on the bridge at Demon’s Maw in Lornar’s Pass. if you stand on the bridge tower thing you can’t jump in the portal, if you fly to the portal it does register the jump in the portal but since you did not have the device up you get back to the pond instead of to the next location. What do I do to get to the next portal ?
How do you know you are the best player on your team? By scoreboard points? I tell you something. Sometimes the guy with lowest score are one of the most useful player to win the game. But it doesn’t matter as you win the game so who cares who is the last one on the scoreboard. Only care about who is the last one when you lose the game! Right?
Maybe you are not as good as you think? Sometimes every solo player get 1-2 players that worse at fights than enemy players, fighting outside of points, following enemy that kites them out of point, or simply don’t care about defending. having 2 points than going to far to die instead of defending and then lose all points, going for mob to lose every cap points. someone decides going to lord at around 200 points so you lose teamfight + that guy that went to lord alone was died already when he went to attack lord alone but you should be able to get in higher divisions. Especially if you play one of the easier life classes. But you also did premade q and still stuck.
I just started season too late only played solo q necro gs/power most and some own condi build just for fun and im in ruby tier
Recognizable, but it really does not matter that much if the team you are matched against has about the same level of tactic, or the absence of it ^^ it’s all about matching the right players so the match will be more fun and challenging. But I get your point, having the highest score does not mean squat if you do everything else wrong
Please make stuff like achievements being temporary more clear IN GAME not on a forum hidden away in a section 90% of the people will never read it. I just by accident stumbled upon this thread and will not get any of the achievements I have only played the map one time since it’s basically absent in normal game routines. I’m getting a bit tired of you guys hiding important game information outside the game we are playing a game, not a forum! put it in the game that is where we are!
Same poor experience with the matchmaking system at the moment I just can’t really use it to team up since I lose about 2 out of 3 matches so never any progress is made.
- being teamed with 1st timers: why not work in the match-up of equally experienced professions that have spent about the same amount of time in ranked matches on that profession.
- why not introduce a learning system in unranked matches that points out where to focus attention and learn players basic strategy by interactively guiding them it instead of just allowing them into ranked in the first place
I know my professions, I would not consider myself to be a top PvP player, but I’m definitively not a bad one either. The players I’m getting matched up with often don’t even know what to do, and wander the map aimlessly or trying to win a 1v4 fight.
Better matching players will probably take up more time in the queue, but if the matches are actually better matched it’s more than worth it. It’s just no fun at all to just horribly loose over and over and over again with more than 200 points difference the least.
Not even to begin about trait/gear choices, obviously anyone just starting out is not very focused on that stuff. they just want to see what it’s all about.
I really hope that the matching system will be improved, it’s just not fun to play the way it is now.

Same here, especially the launching in the air fails on me way too many times. It has nothing to to with lag or any Internet connection related problem since i have a very good ping time, furthermore I never have this problem on any other updraft’s that you can use from the ground like in the dragon stand map or in verdant brink. to me it just seems very tedious to even get in the air, this made me replay the fancy flight part over and over and over again just to fail on the 1 or the 2nd launch. Sorry but it’s just poorly made and definitively NOT fun. I will try the updraft that Ayrilana has mentioned but in all honestly you should be able to use any of the updrafts since they are there to get you up.
Well if it is a DC problem it might not really help, but is it’s a game crash you should try it out for sure. Well you should try it out anyway
as some others already said it seems you can use you game files (excluding the exe) with the 64 bit exe so you don’t have to wait forever to download the entire game.
I tried WoW, and I do not like it, @ all. The cartoony childish and simplistic art style puts me off, not even to speak of how the really old style of questing and leveling trough the game feels to me. No thank you I will never play that game… not even if I had all the time in the world
- oh yes, I forgot the fact that they even want money for that too, every month, to create more of the same cr… eh, content to keep people busy haha poor subscribers

It fixed the game crashing problem in new maps (well actually everywhere else too) for me completely.
Hi, if you are on a 64 bit version of Windows please try out the new 64 bit client, for me it reduced the game crashes to about 0. Just go to: ‘My Account’ > ‘Game Content’ to download it.
I know it can be frustrating not being able to rejoin the action after a disconnect or a game crash, I wrote up a post about it suggesting some improvements that would make it a less frustrating thing. All I got was some people agreeing with me and some that said that anet will never do anything to make that experience less painful and frustrating. It’s good that you put it out here again.
I completely agree on you 2 minute retention solution btw, it’s kind of what I suggested in my post too ^^

Hi, I am also using the x64 client, and so far:
No game crashes on all maps
No noticeable FPS changes for me (I am @ 1440p high~ultra everything)

The whole idea of the 64-bit client is that it can utilize more memory than a 32 bit application, depending on the way the application is designed utilizing more memory can result in less crashing of the client and possibly better loading times in maps.
My personal experience with the x64 client is that I have almost no game crashes anymore. On the 32 bit client i had game crashes very regularly in the new HoT maps. I have 32GB of RAM in my system so I am very happy that Anet created the x64 client! if you ask me, i wish that there was an option to set the client to use even more memory so loading between maps would even go faster (maybe?) but the x64 client alone mas helped a lot for me

I agree, in general HoT is very doable even solo is not a problem, learn to play your profession instead of just standing mashing 1 and expecting the legendaries / gold / ascended stuff to rain down on you. If you want that experience go play hello kitty adventure island.
Agree with you. I am no stranger to fps games, ( CS/CS-S/CS-GO ) but this adventure is really hard in my opinion, and not hard in a good way, NPC’s walking in front of your targets, aiming is really poor (I have to adjust my mouse speed, acceleration and my in game mouse speed to be able to get a semi fair aiming) the crosshair is a white dot that is too hard to spot on the background and the targets are really small, and often behind all kinds of clutter. Combining this all makes a frustrating experience. I gave it a really good try but I don’t even get to bronze.

All asc stuff works like this, and after you make it you can use it on all chars and change the stats on it fairly easy. That’s worth some effort in my opinion.
I don’t care for mounts
I really do not agree with the review, and I think this is the view of someone that has just quickly reviewed the game but is not really actively playing it;
Things I do NOT agree with:
- Group-focused content in an anti-social game (Really??!, I really have an entirely different experience, I have played this game for 3 years… have you ever heard of lfg ?)
- Mastery and Elite Specialization systems are unsuccessful (While they are maybe not what you expected of them, that does not make them unsuccessful)
- Aging engine has surprisingly poor performance (I am using a GTX 970 and I am always around my locked 60 fps on max settings on 1440p so please update your drivers or look somewhere else before you dish the entire game engine.)
- Unexciting combat design has remained unchanged (I ’m getting the feeling that u mainly use 1 while your other hand is in the snack bag?)
Things I do somewhat agree with:
- Low quantity of new items (I play on high settings, still there are many textures that just look plain VGA)
- New Revenant job adds more options, but doesn’t stand out (I created one and played it for a while, I do like it but had kind of the same feeling.)
Thing that I do agree with:
- An interesting story with memorable battles
- The glider is a joy to use
- Guild Halls and Stronghold are fantastic additions
- Lots of new content for returning players

While I do get your point, I really do think that this is kind of on purpose. A guild is not a solo thing, it’s a group thing. So build your guild to at least 9 guild mates and you are good to go!
You can play HoT solo just fine, I finished it with my guard and did everything solo, and only got the dragonhunter elite after exploring the 3rd map or something, while there are some very lethal npc’s on the HoT maps once you know what to look for, how to handle them it’s not that hard anymore. When I got my dragonhunter it even got a little easier because I think the traps rule. I am using knights and berserker mix gs/scepter and torch, so pretty standard.

I have really enjoyed the Heart of Thorns expansion so far, and I am really impressed with the great artwork, environments and new game mechanics that you guys introduced. So… Thank You!

Update: After 20 min’s of “Retrying” the game client has now started downlading @about 100~300KB/sec, if it keeps that up I’m happy.

My friend always plays with sound off because of the horrific screams that her guard produces, over and over again. I think there could be done some tweaking to make it occur less often? or maybe expand to the existing ones to make them more random.
I never understood why MMO’s are supposed bear the burden of players being disconnected and why it should factor into game design. Is it really such a significant issue that game devs should think of ways to ensure DC’s are rewarded in some way?
No, rewarding would take it too far, and is not the intention of this post. Mainly to take away the sourness by letting players go back to what they where doing in the 1st place, that is all.
On the other hand, I would really like to hear why you think the player should ‘bear the burden’ instead of developers creating something that is real-world proof? As you probably know, a disconnection is not a client-side only issue perse;
It’s like accepting that cars break down when it is starting to rain and say; Why would we burden the manufacturer with the problem?

Disconnects are very annoying and I agree that many of the circumstance you’ve outlined can be infuriating and disappointing.
When DCing from a world-boss such as Tequatl, the hope and possibility that you might be able to rejoin through a party taxi is probably the worst thing about it for me. If I DC-ed and knew I didn’t have a chance of getting back in, I’d feel a bit more relaxed about the situation as I wouldn’t have to do the desperate amount of clicking to try and re-enter, especially if the event is near finished.
There needs to be about a 5 minute window where your spot in the map is saved for you if you do DC. However, I do see some negative implications for this- if there was a mass DC at Tequatl, the map will refill pretty quickly (or people can be taxied in) and the remaining people can still have a chance of completing the event.
I think realistically, the best thing A-net can do is to reduce the likelihood of DCs on their end as much as they can. Of course people will still encounter DCs, but most of it comes down to internet connection/network and their computer.
Yes, i agree on reducing the likelihood of the disconnects, but that is just part of a complete solution.
I think 5 minutes is too long, and it probably will cause some implications, 60 seconds however or maybe even 90 should not be that problematic I think and should give you more than enough time to get back on in about 90% of the time. Most disconnects just happen very shortly and almost never at the client side, speaking from my experience.
Okay, let me get this straight: You like one thing over the other thing, but some people tell you to not do your thing, so now you want Anet to force everyone to do the one thing you like? hmm to me you just sound like the guys that want you to do their thing…
I have completed the personal story with 4 different chars, and found them fairly easy.
As someone else already suggested, you should team up with someone or with a full party, it will make it easier and more enjoyable especially when you are having a hard time with them.
Additionally you can check your char’s build and ensure that you have set your traits and are using good quality gear that matches your level. I hope you are able to enjoy your PS with these tips.

I got my 1st legendary precursor weapon after 3 years of active gameplay. (doing everything Gw2 has to offer) I got it from the MF. My friend that has just started playing got a far more expensive precursor weapon within 4 months of gameplay from SW.
So it’s about luck, and you should not be counting on it to come your way. Just enjoy the game in general and don’t fixate on getting a legendary weapon right from the start. That is my advice I can give you.
Can i just quickly add something:
The option: “Deposit All Materials” witch is currently placed in the options menu of the inventory window, should have it’s own button on the inventory window.
Reason:
‘Deposit All Materials’ is not an option in the sense that it is a setting like the other options in the options menu, but an action that one might perform very regularly.
The way it is positioned now is inconvenient and not very logical, and last but not least causes missclicks on for instance the option below it ‘Compact’ witch instantly creates a big mess in your inventory.
The same also goes for the ‘Compact’ function in that menu, since it is also not a setting. Personally I never use this function since it does weird things to my inventory but other people might like and use it often.
All the other options in the options menu are in it’s place I think.
