A potentially good WvW build?

Only suggestion I have for your build is perhaps consider switching “Earth’s Embrace” to “Elemental Shielding”. You lose out on Armor of Earth when you hit 50% but in my opinion its better to have control over when you want protection. By swapping to Elemental Shielding, all the auras you apply to yourself grant protection which is better then the 6 seconds provided by Earth’s Embrace, which also has a CD of 75 seconds.

One word response, not even sure why I’m wasting my time on this.

1. You don’t have control over that stability in terms of when it decides to proc. It activates at 50% health and then goes on to a 75 second CD. Unless you can somehow time it to proc at the very moment you need it, the trait is essentially worthless.

2. Its not worth picking up especially if your incorporating auras into your build, Elemental Shielding >>> Earth’s Embrace.

3. Earth’s Embrace CD of 75 seconds is enormous and is the main reason why I stopped using this trait. The stability is nice, don’t get me wrong but realistically you’ll only be able to use this trait once per fight.

4. With the way WvW works and the builds that are out there roaming, getting spiked under 50% health happens so quickly, even if you are using a tanky build. Personally I use a tanky build and find myself dipping under 50% very easily.

All that and I’m trying to see what would help out the OP’s build. With 2148 armor, it only takes one nuke skill to drop under 50% and there goes Earth’s Embrace, proccing at the beginning of the fight.

Claw of Boremag

Title says it all. I wish they would change the fight with Claw of Jormag. Of all the world bosses that gw2 has to offer, Claw of Jormag is one of the most boring boss fight there is simply because it isn’t very well thought out. Yes I know most world bosses can be cheesed but claw is just an awful world boss mixed in with abilities to test your patience.

From being tossed for ages, feared every 10 seconds and having that corrupt shield is awful enough but then comes the second part of the fight and this is where I would like them to change it at least. You can’t even get near him without freezing to death from his aoe. You have to wait for these robots to poke his feet with explosives until he gets stunned, then you can burn him. Otherwise your running back to the stack spot every time he fears you, just so you can throw your "1"s at him until his icy breath AoE disappears after having his toes tickled enough.

I’m curious to know what other people think.

Sometimes I compete (on a fresh reset) but most of the time I’m just hopping through to farm karma and gifts. I’ve gotten as high as I think 17 or 18. Even then, I’d rather just have an un-timed instance so I can just keep on jumping through. Too many times I jump to the snowball part to find out I didn’t have enough time to finish (need about ~1:40 to finish a lap)

if I take the portal yes, but speaking to the NPC I haven’t had any issues getting into the JP. Last year’s problem was the portal booted you out and talking to the NPC didn’t do anything either.

I don’t agree. Trying to get into an instance and getting kicked out while my karma booster is wasting away got on my nerves last year. Every minute counts on the booster and at times I’ve lost up to 10 minutes on my booster because of queues. I don’t care if people want solo instances, if anet wanted us to do the jp in solo instances they would have made it that way but they didn’t.

Diamond Skin suggestion

I liked the old Diamond Skin better. I built high toughness and used signet to maintain 90% HP to deal with condition builds. I walled off condition builds with it but struggled against power builds that hit hard. The only reason they nerfed it was because it made Tempests unkillable in PvP. The change should have been nerfed in PvP and left alone in PvE/WvW.

The nerf really killed the trait and its not worth taking mainly because you have to be struck while above 75% hp to cleanse 1 condition compared to the old immunity to everything above 90% health.

As for those who say it was OP. Then stop using your pure condition dire builds and then we’ll talk. That’s literally the only stat build that can’t deal with the old diamond skin because it has no power built in to break the 90%.

Your D/F build has Shocking Aura, Fire Shield, Flash-Freeze, Rebound (if you don’t heal), Tempest Defense (25 second CD) and all the auras you get when successfully overloading any attunement. Its more useful to have protection on auras rather then Earth’s Embrace every 75 seconds. You will most likely only get to use Earth’s Embrace once or twice per fight depending on how long the fight goes on for.

I wish we had a better system for Runes. Think of all the possibilities:

25 Power
10% Might Duration
50 Toughness
15% Might Duration, +25% when struck to gain Might for 5seconds (Strength 4/6)
100 Vitality
125 Precision, +20% Swiftness Duration (Pack 6/6)

I mean I don’t know what a rune set like this would ever be used for (stats are scattered everywhere) but it at least allows us to build more freely.

Repping will always be a “problem” of some sort because we can join up to 5 guilds per account. If this was like most other games where you can only join 1 guild per character rather then 5 per account then this wouldn’t be a problem. I actually think they have a great system here in place.

Think about it this way: if you have multiple characters but they can only join 1 guild each (like every other game) then which guild do you join? Do you put them all under the same guild, or separate them depending on what they are being used for primarily (PvE/PvP/WvW)? This would also mean having to split character names and account names (which every other mmorpg does instead of displaying account names). This would also cause more problems. What if someone has 64 alt characters in the same guild? They now occupy 64/500 of your total guild space.

If you want to entice people to rep then you should let people in your guild know that higher guild ranks are available to those who always or are frequently repping. It might help, just slightly.

If you are concerned about guild rep then I hate to break it to you but the moment you ask people to rep “x amount of the time” then you are guaranteed to lose players. I find with the current system it is much better then the 1 guild limitation per character.

Last thing I want to say is if you want people to rep your guild most of the time then you might as well advertise your guild as “100% rep” because unless you are keeping track of time you will never know if someone is truly repping “80%” of the time or whatever amount of rep you are supposed to rep. This way you only attract those who will rep 100% of the time. Keep in mind that people will always join/leave depending on the circumstances and 100% rep is one of those things that tends to put people off from joining a guild.

Pros:
-Ability to craft Food for your characters to use. Certain foods are cheaper to craft in the long run and can save a couple of silvers. Some foods are account bound so you can only craft them.

-Achievement Points (5AP per 50 levels, capped at 40AP at 400 Cooking).

-Experience equal to 7 levels, useful for any non-80 as well as central tyria mastery exp. It gives a percentage of experience and not a flat amount, meaning it can be used to level from 10->17, 30->37, 73->80, etc. You can 1-400 whenever for the experience points.

-Required for crafting specific weapons (Vial of Liquid Flame needed for Incinerator/Volcanus)

-Cheapest craft to max. Using gw2crafts, it costs a couple of gold (under 7g at the time of this post). You can save a little more gold if you have map completion as you can buy karma ingredients. The difference is negligible.

Cons:
-Like all crafts, the crafting system is a bit of a mess. I’d strongly recommend using a guide to get to 400 rather then trying random recipes to get to 400.

-Some foods cannot be obtained via crafting, thus you must purchase them off the TP. E.g Wintersday foods that give +10% Karma which were introduced last year.

-You can just buy the food you need off the TP. Some foods aren’t even worth crafting as the ingredients themselves are worth more then the final product. Its also more convenient to just buy what you need off the market and skipping the crafting process.

World Completion and LA

I know its a part of World Completion but is it still part of World Completion right now? The reason I ask is because most areas required for map completion have a box with the information in it (Lion’s Arch did but its now gone) so I thought they might have removed Lion’s Arch from World Completion.

I’ve done world completion 5 times (4 times too many, totally not bragging jejeje) but I’ve noticed that hovering over Lion’s Arch on the mini map no longer displays the box that shows us the amount of POIs, Vistas and Way points inside LA like it does for other cities.

Is Lion’s Arch not a part of map completion anymore? I know we needed to map LA in the past for World Completion but is this a recent change or is this a glitch that doesn’t display the box?

You can blame anet for the decision of making a 4 headed hydra out of CD/BP/ET/Kain. There’s absolutely no reason to stack 4 servers together, I don’t know how they thought that was a good idea. It goes to show how much attention they pay to actually PLAYING WvW (not just looking at forum complaints) because if they had someone playing on BG for the 2 months ET was linked with them then they would know ET was being stacked with players before they were re-linked into this 4 headed beast.

The gap between T3 and T4 is enormous (exception of the hydra head) and unless they do another adjustment, its going to be extremely difficult to balance. My solution is to make T1/T2 servers all unlinked and the rest of the bottom servers be linked so that theres a T1/T2 (1v1v1 matchups) and T3/T4/T5 (2v2v2 matchups). Otherwise, balancing T4 is going to be difficult unless you know which servers are the best to match up together in a tier with 9 servers to split into teams of 3.

High DPS solo PvE classes?

I think for overall DPS Tempest Staff Eles still do the most damage overtime assuming that you go with full berserker stats. Of course, it comes with a heavy cost and that is having the lowest HP+Armor combination in the entire game and most mobs can down you in 1-2 hits. With proper positioning and practice you can get away with full berserkers in core and even HoT maps.

As for burst damage, I’m sure there are much better options (probably Daredevils?)

lol I’m surprised someone is actually complaining about this especially when the ally is Anvil Rock. I’m from Anvil Rock and I rarely play WvW on my own server anymore. Before the server links happened AR imploded from T5 to dead last 24th for a good while before these links happened. If anything, 95% of the players you see in the JQ+AR alliance will be JQ and a tiny fraction of players from AR. We dropped to a low 853 glicko rating for a reason when servers were not linked yet.

If anything, Anvil Rock medium population is a clear overstatement. Anvil Rock should technically be on low status because the server lost just that many guilds and population in the fall back to 24th.

I’m posting this as a glass cannon build, however you are free to run whatever stats you are comfortable with. Better to be alive then using a build that does not work for you.

Notes:

-Standard staff build, Berserkers works well to maximize DPS but it is not necessary. Any stat build will work, however low precision builds should swap Fire trait “Burning Precision” to “Burning Fire” and Air trait “Ferocious Winds” to “Zephyr’s Boon”. Burning Precision and Ferocious Winds are terrible traits for low precision builds. Burning Fire and Zephyr’s Boon can also be used with any stat combo.

-Signet of Air can be swapped out for any Cantrip for better survival, Arcane Wave if you need another blast finisher or Frost Bow in situations where CC is needed or if the target is stationary. Personally I like to keep Signet of Air because of the flat 25% movement speed and the signet active blind is alright.

-If you don’t want to use Glyph of Storms, it can also be swapped out for any utility. Just remember if you don’t use Glyph of Storms, swap the air trait “Inscription” to “Aeromancer’s Training”. Inscription should only be used if you plan to run Glyph of Storms.

-If Strength Runes are too expensive then go with Superior Runes of the Flame Legion, they work very well because you will being burning targets fairly often with the trait “Burning Precision” which will help keep your 7% Damage modifier from the 6 set bonus up. Other rune options are Pack Runes, Hoelbrak Runes (good for condition encounters) and Scholar Runes (if you can manage 90%+ HP). Again if you are using a low precision stat build, don’t use Fire trait “Burning Precision”. Flame Legion still works without Burning Precision but may not be as effective without the trait.

-Since this is map completion, you should run with “Conjure Fiery Greatsword” or “Rebound!”. Rebound! for an extra heal/aura or FGS so that you can clear maps a little bit faster by using the mobility granted by FGS.

-Sigil recommendations include Air, Force, Fire, Bloodlust or Energy. Again for low precision builds, do not run Air or Fire runes as you will not proc them enough to make use of them and are better off using Force/Bloodlust for damage. Energy is great if you want another dodge on attunement swap.

Last point I want to make is that positioning is the key to survival. Positioning yourself well allows you to run the glass cannon build but if you have troubles staying alive then I would recommend you run with soldiers gear. Any stat build should work but I recommend soldiers as it offers the best combination of offense and defense (Power,Vit and Toughness)

Buffs or Utility replacements for Conjures. As it stands there really is no point to use them.

More Elite skills, our elites have always been lacking. TornadoShower got nerfed and FGS is only used to escape. We need more options here.

Revert the Diamond Skin nerf. It was only nerfed because of that one stupid Tempest build in PvP. Outside of that, it was rarely ever used. I used it on a high toughness D/D build in WvW and it worked very well against condi builds. *Only revert it in PvE/WvW*

Scepter Auto Attack buffs. Pls.

Another main-hand and off-hand weapon. Its fun to have more options and I am still expecting main-hand sword someday.

Do Conjured Weapons limit future Ele-Weapons?

Conjure weapons are not worth it. Anytime we incorporate conjure weapons into PvE, PvP or WvW they end up getting nerfed. FGS got nerfed, Icebow got nerfed (RIP Icebow #4), LH got nerfed. Its even more pathetic when you realize there is only one trait for conjures. It is that awful and forgettable. Fire Aura on pick up and more charges? How about reduced cooldown and removing charges, that’s a way to start.

You are basically gaining an environmental weapon at the cost of your valuable utility skills. The saddest part to conjures is that there are environmental weapons that would be more useful than conjures (the ones you can buy from karma merchants). At this rate we are better off asking for new utility skills to replace them or asking for them to revert the nerfs to the conjures.

I feel like they should have just done server alliances with the bottom T5-T8 servers rather then combine 12 servers with 12 servers. Logged in to check queues and YB/AR was queued 150 with 60 on each borderland. Obviously doesn’t affect YB cause I can only assume YB has their resets like this (assumption from a t8 player) but as a player on AR the 150 queue sucks for us cause we can’t hop into WvW at any time like we are normally use to.

Churning Earth cast time reduction is great, its a step in the right direction since the channeling time was ridiculously long. Not sure what to say about Diamond Skin since I haven’t tested it yet. I still prefer the old one but it is what it is.

I just wish the ascended accessory was cheaper then what it is now. I mean 40 Laurels and 50 Ectoplasm is much pricier then the 20/25 Laurels and 250 Badges of Honor that you pay for an amulet/ring. If anything, I wish they gave an option like 35 Laurels+250 Badges of Honor for an accessory or remove the 50 ectoplasms from the non-WvW price.

Before they do anything else, they might as well bring back the old Alpine maps. The new deserted borderlands are just that: deserted. They’re not fun to play in because of the mechanics in them and the simple fact that they are way too large for any server not T1.

The first step in the right direction would be to bring back the Alpine maps. Don’t alter them in any way until you know for sure the changes will be welcomed (give us ideas and let people give their opinions on the changes rather then enforce it and get feedback after forcing us to deal with the changes for an entire week. Golem week being an example, ask us about what we think about the idea instead of just randomly applying the idea.)

I’m surprised this thread hasn’t been locked from the amount of arguing. OP, you are asking for our thoughts. I will state my opinion (doesn’t have to agree with yours, neither does yours have to agree with mine), my thoughts on the matter and perhaps a solution to the problem. Note that I will be focusing on the PvE part of the topic and not crafting as that is already a headache in itself.

Opinion: I just don’t think the PvE element in this game is right for you.

Thoughts: Its essentially the same as any other mmorpg with a few differences. Receive quest, go here, kill (or gather) x amount of y, return and receive your reward. In the case of Guild Wars 2, the major difference is that 1. You don’t have to travel far distances to complete the renown heart because each one is set up to be completed in areas nearby, 2. Its not very rewarding, there’s not much monetary gain when completing them , all you get is EXP (useless at level 80 with no HoT expansion), a silver or two (you could gather materials and make more than this) and karma (limited use). 3. ALL of them are optional. The only thing finishing renown hearts counts towards is world completion and an achievement that is tied to completing x amount of renown hearts (if I recall correctly). 100% Map completion rewards are decent though there are better ways to gain gold (if that is what you want) and 100% world completion is a joke of a reward which only gives you 1/12 of a legendary weapon.

Solution: the only thing I can recommend is that you explore the entire world of Tyria at least once (the scenery is nice in some places) and only completing renown hearts that might interest you. There is no real point in finishing all of them unless you want to make a legendary or if you are a completionist.

…or the other solution. Stay away from PvE and just play the game for PvP/WvW.

Does Diamond skin need a nerf ?

Diamond Skin isn’t OP, its completely useless against power builds but it walls off condition builds pretty well. The only reason we can even fight necromancers is because of Diamond Skin. Once its removed, load on the conditions and its game over.

This is one of the reasons why removing DS is next to impossible on Tempest builds. When you have access to base 3 second protection on utility skills (Feel the Burn, Eye of the Storm, Aftershock), elite skill (if running Rebound) as well as weapon skills (Shocking Aura, Frost Aura for D/D, Magnetic Aura for Staff) it becomes a problem because now too much damage is being mitigated and most if not all damage that comes in is being out healed. Just as a start, I feel that Elemental Shielding needs an internal cooldown because the access to constant protection is what makes Diamond Skin OP.

I’ve used DS before HoT and at that point there were next to no complaints because many considered it to be garbage due to the “Above 90% HP only” which wasn’t a problem until Elemental Shielding can be activated on 5 to 6 different skills with no cooldown.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, DS is mainly OP on Tempest because Tempest traits synergize way too effectively with auras. Regen + Vigor on top of more auras from overloading and then healing on top of applying auras. Diamond Skin OP on Tempest, on anything else its okay at best.

Fireball, whaaaaat!?

I decided to equip a staff on my ele since its been ages since I’ve last used one. I thought people were exaggerating the visuals of fireball when they nerfed it. It literally looks like I’m throwing a tiny firework or flaming golf ball or some weird crappy flare. They really need to bring the old animation back, fireball looks pathetic at this point and its actually driving me away from ever picking up a staff again.

The purpose of water trait line is to keep us from disappearing from the game outside of PvE. Delete water trait line = banish Elementalists to PvE permanently. Water train line is survivability for a large portion of eles or else we flop over and die in seconds.

Arcane/Water and the current Meta

We lack survivability outside of water/arcane trait lines, that’s the issue. For PvE you can run whatever you want and adjust accordingly to what you need. However, if you even want a chance at survival in PvP or WvW Roaming, you’ll need to run Water/Arcane lines because without them we get killed very easily.

So its not that the class is “broken” but our survival heavily relies on one of the two trait lines or both, which is why our class is “imbalanced” and very limited to what we can run in PvP and Roaming.

EDIT: Earth does help with buffering damage via stone heart and diamond skin but our health and armor are already so low that it doesn’t compete with water trait line (tons of regen and healing) and arcane trait line(arcane shield, evasive arcana, renewing stamina), which is why we are kind of pigeonholed into running at least one of the trait lines, or both to stay alive in roaming.

Every Elite feels like an update, except us?

I know, i know the Reaper is in some situation a huge update for every Necro … But on the other hand we are maybe the only Elite who is gonna lose something -> Death Shroud.

Other elite just have to trade a Traitline and its already worth ( buffed F-skills, traits, weapons etc. ), you can play your new elite like your old Class, just with some Buffs.
- You can play your Daredevil just like your old Thief, with 3 dodges ( and even more ) …
- you can just play your Dragonhunter like your Guardian just with buffed F-Skills ( and even more )
- You can play your Chrono like a Mesmer, with an OP F5 Skills ( and you know … )

We can play Reaper, and lose for example our only worth period rangeddamage ( Shroud 1 ) … automaticly. It feels like we are the only Elite where something is completly replaced … its okay because i think this should be the thing ( old classes shouldnt just be worthless/replaced ) … But compared to all other elite it feels … not fair

As an ele main, I have to disagree. Yes you lose your ranged damage but you have to keep in mind that the Reaper is designed for melee combat, that’s the main focus of the entire specialization. It may feel like its not fair, but believe me necromancers got the better end of the deal from HoT compared to Guardians and Eles.

Before I continue, I’m talking from a WvW perspective. Just throwing that out there.

My assumption is that a lot of Guardians are preparing to swap to Revenant because Revenants are better at providing offensive boons, that and the disappointment of many Guardians due to Dragonhunter (not to be rude to those who look forward to DH). The virtues may be different but its no better then what they currently have. Honestly, I wish they would make scepter auto-attacks homing on a Guardian, its too unreliable for moving targets and is why we don’t have a ranged option until DH was announced.

As for elementalists, we get Tempest. In my opinion, I’m not looking forward to running Tempest at all. Its not appealing and it definitely does not help the fact a lot of elementalist players were looking forward to using the sword, not the warhorn.
Warhorn is a boring support weapon and I’d much rather use staff because at least then I can provide support safely at range rather then having to blast fields in melee range with Dagger/Warhorn.

Tempest locks us out of an attunement and that’s going to cause a lot of problems as it essentially increases cooldowns on all of our skills (the attunement were locked out of) when we overload and leave the attunement. There will be times where we may want to camp in an attunement for a bit but we accidentally overload for camping too long, which can screw up an entire fight. Overloading water is going to be the biggest problem, it takes 2.75 seconds to overload water and it then locks us out for 20 seconds. The moment we overload water, were dead the moment we switch out of it because its very easy to kill an elementalist knowing they are locked out of water attunement after overloading.

My point is, Reaper is going to be one of (if not the most) solid addition to the game for elite specializations compared to a lot of the other specializations coming out of HoT.

Guild Bank Withdraw, Items "disappear"

When withdrawing from the guild bank to your inventory, there are times where the withdrawn item will “disappear” when you drag it into your inventory. You can drag another item from the guild bank into your inventory in another slot to make the item that disappeared reappear again. Its quite annoying and has been around for a few months now (3-4 months I think). It’d be nice to not have to withdraw more then necessary to get one or more items out of the guild bank when they start disappearing randomly, forcing you to withdraw another item to make it show up in your inventory.

Shows how much I PvP – I thought Dire Amulet existed lmao. Seriously though, 3 Burn Guardians on one team all running torches is insane if you haven’t run into it yet. No idea what amulet they were running since they were hard to kill. Might have been Rabid.

Honestly I don’t think Anet is going to make any changes to D/D Celes until HoT since they seem to be really focused on its release over everything else right now.

I have more trouble fighting Dire Guardians then Celes right now. Applying tons of burning and are extremely tanky, they’re my biggest annoyance right now in PvP. Unless you play a necro in which case you just toss the burn stacks right back at them, they’ll kill you before you even dent them.

Problem with D/D is that we do sustained damage with might, thus we need sustained healing and nothing is better then Celestial right now. If we go towards being tanky, we are tanky at the cost of almost all our damage. and if we go glass cannon, we get bursted in mere seconds.

That’s where might stacking becomes a problem. Celestial Ele is absolutely useless without Hoelbrak or Strength runes because that’s where all the damage comes from in Celestial Eles. Add on the fact that we stack might reliably, and that’s why people are complaining so much; slightly tanky and deals good sustain damage.

Once you remove Celestial Amulet from PvP, Eles will either disappear from PvP or they’ll all become bunker builds running Earth/Water/Arcane and PVTs to hold points. and even then, other classes like the Guardian or Necro would make a much better bunker anyways.

The “discounted” price is a well rounded number (800 and 2000), which is probably why they chose to use those selling prices for those packages. It also shows that they don’t know the value of unidentified dyes because they definitely aren’t gem price level.

Either way, I know I won’t purchase it because I’m hoping there will be better things in a couple of days.

It still doesn’t make any sense to me as to why they account bound those dyes. Sure the value of unidentified dyes would have dropped but unidentified dyes are priced ridiculously at the moment (around 80s) which in my opinion is overpriced. What if you get duplicates? You’ll have to flush them. At the very least, it should have been something like “pick 7 common, 2 uncommon and 1 rare” or something like that.

The most simple thing to do would be – just remove them from the package and add something else more useful.

What I’m thinking is that this is aimed at not only new players but players who have ordered Ultimate HoT edition. The one that comes with 4000 gems. I wouldn’t say its a coincident that they release these right before anniversary sales, or maybe it is just me. Get people to spend part of the 4000 gems, then the anniversary sales start and people start buying more gems.

If not the above, then I suppose it is actually aimed towards new players but there could be better. Black Lion Keys as fun as they are to open, it would be more beneficial if they got something that’ll last. Perhaps a Copper-Fed Salvage-o-matic, and throw in a 2 week golem banker as well. or one that lasts a month or something along those lines.

EDIT: Or maybe the sales started today, haven’t thought of that. Just a weird way to start.

I’m upset they made this change because I converted all my boosters into enchanted boosters for the karma boost. Now they (without warning) take the option of karma boost out of them. I don’t need more EXP when I’m at level 80 and don’t get anything for leveling. Nor do I want to craft. I don’t bother with magic find and I rarely ever use boosts for gathering.

Edit: All boosters outside of Karma Boosters were converted. The 2:1 ratio was always a scam, it was never worth converting Karma Boosters to Enchanted Boosters.

I’ve skipped most of the posts here so I don’t know if this has been suggested. Why not just make tome into a weapon? Necros/Eles/Guards and maybe even Mesmers could use Tomes as a weapon. Main Hand Tome? Just an idea.

To the main point, I do think the changes are a good idea since traiting for tomes as of now is a pain (almost nothing to trait for tomes) however those elites will need to be pretty good in order for me to consider swapping out Renewed Focus for it. Renewed Focus invulnerability (+healing for medi builds) on top of refreshing virtues is quite hard to beat. Though passive 25% movespeed, just might be able to top it.

Many of us have multiple characters, yet were limited to just one Endless Skritt Burglar Tonic from the achievement. So I figured hey, why not post a suggestion.

Can we get an option to buy Endless Skritt Burglar Tonics with Crests after we have completed the jumping puzzle? I personally want to have another one just so I don’t have to keep bank transferring my only tonic every single time I want to use it.

As for price, it may as well be the same as the other 3 tonics available for purchase in the Silverwastes. 800 Crests + 1 gold.

It wouldn’t hurt anyone either, since they’re account bound.

Langmar Estate Glitch

Yesterday my guild attempted the Langmar Estate guild puzzle. We’ve done it countless times (we usually get it as our puzzle 80% of the time and have finished it every time) but this time it was not successful because of two faulty pressure plates near the end of the puzzle where the poisonous clouds are. The pressure plates would not work, even when people got off them and back on. They won’t budge.

Not only was my guild unable to complete it, the next guild that started the puzzle after the time restarted was also unable to finish the puzzle. I’d like to see a fix to this so that were not wasting influence and our time on a puzzle that is bugged.

Its a random number generated that is determined by the email you use to register the account. When I was registering the same account name with different emails, they all had a different numbers. It wasn’t like 4509 then 4510. Would be 4726 for example.

The main point of it is to differentiate who is who. You might know a Michael.9999 (very generic) but then you meet a Michael.9998 and most likely it is not the same person (unless they have multiple accounts with the same name). Basically, just to differentiate between people with the same account names.

After reading over the post, I do agree that ascended armor crafting for light classes seems unfair mainly because Damask is so freaking expensive. I’m wondering if this would work to bring up both Deldrimor and Elonian prices as an alternative to your solution Wanze:

New Recipes (Chest,Legs,Helmet,Shoulder, Gloves, Boots):

Light:
32 Damask (18 for the insignias)(3+3+2+2+2+2)
8 Elonian for the armor pieces(2+2+1+1+1+1)
Medium:
18 Damask (18 for the insignias)
22 Elonian for the armor pieces(5+5+3+3+3+3)
Heavy:
18 Damask (18 for the insignias)
22 Deldrimor for the armor pieces(5+5+3+3+3+3)

This would make server rotations even more confusing unless the paired servers are permanently paired up. In that case, they’re pretty much merged servers so there would be no point in that. Lets not forget server pride that comes afterwards.

Looking at the match ups, this would actually kill WvW even more than now due to the fact that the Tier 1 and Tier 2 servers would steamroll any server that is T3 or a combination of two paired servers. The problem is that T1 and T2 are way too populated, thus any match up between those two tiers and any server T3/Combined Tier would result in even more lopsided match ups.

Even if you were to pair up two servers, the gap between T2 and T3 can not be mended by simply pairing them up.

I’ll take the AR/GoM example since I play on AR. With that pair up, we’d have a good amount of people for NA. Unfortunately, we have no SEA/OCX so DB would roll us then, and then during the day we’d probably be outnumbered by YB anyways. Even worse, if it was FA/DB/AR+GoM then we’d be waiting for the next match up since even with both servers combined FA has too many people on NA Prime.

I’m from AR and both our server and Kaineng has moved up primarily because of two reasons:

The first one is that our servers have kept its core prime times (NA for AR, OCX/SEA for Kaineng) so we field enough during our primes, not sure about Kaineng but they’re online when everyone else is offline.

The second reason is that many other servers have plummeted over the past 2-3 months. SF, SoR, BP, DR, I think FC lost SNKY, can’t remember correctly and just recently ET is on their way down. With all those servers moving down due to losing players, it only made sense we moved up on the board since we haven’t had any major losses recently.

Kaineng won the last match up because like Big Boss said, they PVD while everyone else is asleep. I can’t really blame them since they’ve been that odd server in Bronze Tier in terms of prime time. I don’t think any other server in Bronze at the moment has any major OCX/SEA to fight Kaineng with, which is why they are where they are now lol.

Good luck Kaineng this week, we got CD and I believe they have OCX/SEA coverage if I recall correctly. Either way, GoM needs to come back down next week haha.

Citadel Waypoint

Just minutes ago I was in the process of selling mats at the crafting areas to be greeted by two enemy players, a mesmer and a thief. They killed all the crafting merchants, shadow refuged and disappeared afterwards. Its not a huge deal cause the NPCs do re-spawn overtime. How are people able to get into Citadel and why hasn’t it been addressed? I was not able to take a screenshot or get their names unfortunately but that’s not the point. There should not be any way for enemies to get into the Citadel to begin with. I believe the same thing happened in another server with SoS players being inside the Citadel. I’d like to know what you guys think, as I’m sure I’m not the only person to be greeted by the enemy in your own Citadel.

and no, I’m not talking about mesmer portals into Keeps, I’m talking borderland Citadels where it should be blocking off all enemies.

Another complaint from DR. We had it just as bad, we got steamrolled for an entire month by EB (FC/EB/AR) and they won by a long shot every week. Both FC and AR could barely keep stuff on the map off prime and every single night we lost all keep waypoints, towers and camps yet you don’t see either of our servers making forum topics about the lopsided match up. Just wait it out, its already known that DR imploded and their going down.

DR is making its way back down, I think a bunch of people left DR which is why you guys are getting rolled over constantly. You’re on your way down, the same thing SoR and Mag had to deal with. Just consider yourself lucky, SoR was stuck in Silver due to the tournament for 9 weeks, they got it pretty bad. Anyways, Welcome back to Bronze tier. Then comes an entire new problem, who belongs in what tier. Currently we have:

T6 – ET/EB
T7 – FC/AR
T8 – SoR/Kain/SF/BP

T? – DR

I’m sure FC doesn’t want to move up, and I’m not speaking for AR as a whole but I sure as heck don’t want to deal with EB for a while after being steamrolled for a month straight. Hopefully you guys in DR will fit in T7, cause 5 T8 servers is too many.

Can we please get a fix for this event? I feel like this is one of the top problematic events in the game. Too many times it bugs out, thus preventing me and several other new players/new characters from getting the trait. Resetting the event is near impossible as well unless you luck out somehow.

If you’re wondering what I’m talking about, its the Foulbear Kraal event line in Fields of Ruin where you invade the ogre camp and kill Foulbear at the end of the group event. Its been bugged for a while and its really annoying when you’re stuck in the same instance of the map despite re-logging in hopes of getting a new map.

2 Solutions. 1. Let us pick a mega server to connect to, or 2. Fix this horrendous glitchy event.

I’d really like that trait, and no I do not want to have to buy it from the trait instructor simply because this event is broken beyond belief.

EDIT: I’m no longer in the bugged instanced but this is still a problem for many people wanting the trait/rewards from killing foulbear.
