Why not the flute from in the box itself, just with more than three notes?

I always assumed their would be in-game upgrades to the flute to give it more notes for later levels, and a gem store version would be added along with w3 or w4.

SAB riot 2016

Yes!

D’von! Get the Boombox!

Same time, same place, same channel.
Don’t miss out on the exciting conclusion to: Disappointment, Regret, and General sadness. Will our hero ever be able to enter the box again? Or will we all be kittened over once more? Find out, next time.

(I think I used the last of my Super Box o Fun last year, though.)

EDIT: Oh, 6 left. Might have some fun after all. Be there to be square, or remain rounded and high polygon.

Reasons why I left the game, mostly in order of importance:
- 75% of my friends already left
- WvW is on life-support, population is critical, GvG guilds left the game anyway
- SAB is never coming back, they just said that to calm people
- PvP balance is a train wreck. Ever since the new trait system there is no build variety
- New professions design was rushed, tempest warhorn is a total letdown
- HoT didn’t have enough new things, was unfinished and wasn’t worth the price tag
- Game turned into grind
- Raids aren’t what we hoped for
- Dungeons are dead because of the lack of rewards
- Fractals still have no ladder and everyone just do swamp to get rid of it
- Visual downgrade of visual effects, Anet breaking things that worked fine

Basically I think the devs or management are mostly focused on the F2p players on the Asian market buying skins on the gem store and aren’t investing or passionate enough about their game to make it as good as it can potentially be.

For me:

- SAB is never coming back, they just said that to calm people
- Game turned into grindy mc’grindfest
- SAB is never coming back, they just said that to calm people
- Broken mechanics everwhere allowing people to grief by AFK and still get as much or more rewards
- SAB is never coming back, they just said that to calm people
- HoT didn’t have enough new things, was unfinished and wasn’t worth the price tag
- New professions design was rushed,
- 1 new class was worthless
- Not even one character slot for rebuying the entire game?
- SAB is never coming back, they just said that to calm people

I’ll be back for SAB riot 2016 though, and watch devs laugh at us in game again.

I just hope when World 3 is released the TM weapons actually look (deepish) red and not like a pinkish color.

Who said that W3 weapons will be red?

Josh Foreman said so in a thread that must have been removed. The wiki references it.

Yeah the original thread which had a TON of back and forth with Josh has long since been removed. That behavior was seen as a stain on anet’s reputation because it made the complete and utter lack of real communication from every other dev look even worse.

And communication was actually worse then than it is now, if you can believe it.

Waiting for new content is very hard for me as I want everything RIGHT NOW.

Most people get over that phase when they’re above 10 years old or so.

Not with some of the parenting I’ve seen, they don’t. This was true with the previous generation, it is far far less common with the current one. It sticks through the teens and well into adulthood now.

I wouldn’t be against having it brought back:) The only thing about it that might need to be addressed is the rewards.

Obviously the skin prices will tank if/when it comes back, if it’s permanent… even more so.

The only other hang up could possably be obbies… I’m far from against having another way to get them. Simply stating that it would increase the income rate

The skin prices were never MEANT to be what they are now. They sold for a couple of gold each during both the events, because anyone could go and unlock their own anytime they wanted, in an hour or two.

The reward system was one of the best things about SAB, they can’t go kittening that up when they bring it back. The blue skins are supposed to be cheap and easy to acquire, it’s only the green, yellow, red and purple skins that are supposed to be prestige weapons.

It’s kinda silly that my characters are running around with the complete blue set at a higher value than a legendary right now. Even having them all myself, I am completely opposed to them staying at such an insane value. They should be just as easy to get as before.

As long as you keep it one key press one action you fine. Now if you set it up to hold done the button and keep swinging that is not allowed because that is a repeatable action.

When I play my engenier I have my one skill set to left ckilck and toss grenades like crazy.

This doesnt even need to happen as you set your 1 attack to autocast.

Though realistically even with lag you only need to press it once, if you’re having issue with that… there’s plenty of solutions in place.

Never played grenade kit, have you?

Also, does no one here know about Combat Mod? It’s actually approved for use in game, since it offers no definitive advantage and actually makes some skills harder to use (which is why the game is not designed that way).

Far as I know the latest patch broke it, but it’s bound to get fixed.

The problem with chestfarming is the following: The players who do it are toxic, and sometimes worse than the PVP community. let me explain a bit of course, the players who do it get so toxic towards the players actually doing the breach. They come into a map that was an event map, and then chase out all the players who where there doing breach. Ive had it happen more than once. Been in maps that have been doing breach successfully all morning, all 5 bosses killed, all champions for VW killed, with a chest farm during the downtime.

Thats when a chest farming commander comes in, his zerg would run past the forts, scale them up, and then leave(This happens ALOT). The fort would fail, and people would leave. That is why there is hate towards chest farmers. You want money? go make your own map, stop coming into maps that are very clearly doing the events as they are meant to be done(4 commanders, 1 per fort, with people running the dolyaks back and forth, occasionally grabbing a chest when the forts arent in an event) And taking them over(By that i mean making people leave for other maps because you arent helping with the forts). That would end the toxicty towards the chest farmers.

I have seen this literally go both ways. I have seen chest maps that people start leaving from and a random person lucks into a 50% chest farm map. They start a taxi and then the people who got taxi’d into what was thought a event map, start complaining about the chest farm that had been going for the first 50%.

They say things like “when its 50% go find another map” and such

Yeah it definitely goes both ways.
I have:

  1. Entered a map to find people arguing over events vs chest. Switched.
  2. Entered a map to find it at 80% with 0/4 and a chest farm. Switched.
  3. Entered a map to find nothing but people arguing about how to do the events. Switched.
  4. Joined a chest train map to find out it was only ~10 people disrupting an event map.
  5. Joined an event map “sw 80%” to find it was maybe 40% and had a chest zerg going on and the only people doing events are the ones who lied on the lfg to get me there.
  6. Joined a 50% map only to be followed by a couple dozen leechers who caused the event to fail.
  7. Joined a breach map to find it was just a chest farm completely ignoring the breach.
  8. Repeatedly found an event map that decided to farm chests instead within minutes
  9. Repeatedly found chest maps which decided to do the events 10 seconds later since they ran out of shovels.
  10. Completely given up on trying to get people to complete the labyrinth tiers which is just as profitable as a chest farm and requires no shovels. But it’s “hard” and takes more effort.

This guy gets it.
There is practically only one voice in this thread against bringing back SAB or refunding the continue coin. Other players who actively hate the content hive chimed in that they think the coin should at least be refunded.

Personally I don’t want my coin refunded, I want the kitten thing to work. But it is pretty bad to know that no one has been able to get a refund when one is fully deserved at this point.

Sure, take away what little incentive there is left to strike up a random conversation with people, further making the game a little less social…

Personally I like it when people ask me what skin my equipment is. It allows me to chat with them and provide insight on how to acquire it. Granted, it doesn’t happen very often, but it’s a cool thing when it does.

I say leave it as it is to keep that element of spontaneity.

I don’t think I have ever told someone what my sword was without then having to explain where I got it and what the Super Adventure Box is. I don’t think it would actually detract from the people who do ask questions, but would be very nice for the very large portion of players who do not like to whisper and ask questions.

Suggestion: Server Chat

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Monkey Fritz.9052

Monkey Fritz.9052

I agree with the concerns, but a “map wide” server chat, that is all the people from your server on the current map, rather than the instance.

So if I was in Rata Sum I would see map chat, which would be everyone in my current instance. And I would see server chat, which would be all the people from my server who are currently in Rata Sum, regardless of instance.

That would be pretty cool I think. (But very likely to have issues being implemented, and may effectively be impossible with how shards work.)

I kinda miss the days before megaserver for a number of reasons. Actually recognizing names in map chat, and guild tags on my screen for one thing. Pretty sure the last time I saw a name in map chat that wasn’t completely random and new to me was before megaserver. Now its like I never even see the same people twice.

You can’t fix ignorance. I see those people in map chat too, but they DO actually see and read that message and STILL freak out and ask in chat for a dozen people to verify that their account really is okay.

I am really not sure that anything more would actually help. It’s like people that still complain about deleting characters after all the stop gaps in place to prevent them from deleting characters failed.

This was possible before as well, all you had to do was run 3 monitors in high-res or windowed mode with the vertical size shrunk all the way down. It’s just that now everyone has the ability to do it.

lol
Or, you could just play in windowed mode on any computer and do the same thing by scrunching the window vertically. It was the only way to get a proper fov for years and I am so used to it I still run that way, even after the patch.

Never used in wvw though, I don’t pvp much.

We really need a reduction on loot in this game, there is so much trash that drops, its not fun, and its very tiring.

The complete and utter worthlessness of “low end” gear is crazy too. Blues and greens are synonymous with white and junk items. They are ALL junk.

But I am curious OP, how many exotics did you actually get? The rng is still so incredibly low its crazy how few exotics one person loots in the course of the game, and even those are not worth much.

Monkey Fritz.9052

My problem is that in pretty much every corner of this game you find people leeching / farming / afking. It’s gotten crazy. People at world boss chains don’t do pre-events. SW has people afking on the cliffs. WvW has people farming OS and kill trading. PvP has win-trading.

I’m pretty much done I think.

The consolation prize is that in most cases it doesn’t effect you at all. They are being stupid and wasting their time in a game they aren’t even actually playing, and if it was a single player game they would be using cheat codes or mods to the point it plays itself.

This instance is one of the worst because it negatively effects everyone else.

I just wish there was some kind of participation timer even. So if you don’t continue to participate you don’t get credit.

I can show up at the end of an event and tag one mob, and there is a risk I won’t get credit. Tag the same mob at the start of an event and do nothing else, it’s practically a guaranteed gold.

There needs to be a much wider disparity between the rewards for bronze, silver and gold, and a wider difference in participation for getting those.

I don’t see ANY reason why the dancing reward chest should even be given if you didn’t get gold, since in it’s current state gold is so kitten easy to get. It’s actually kind of HARD to get bronze intentionally.

I know, but it’s just bloody ridiculous how I get 1 skin over 900+ runs.. 1 kitten skin!!?!

Once again, it’s really ruining the fun for me now. Every run I keep my hopes up, and everytime my hope is fading away more and more.

I’m the type of person who want’s to unlock all, or at least a good sized amount, of a given set. Not uber rare chances of maybe, eventually, getting ONE after a year of farming.
The very first introduction of black lion skins even, sounded like such a great idea. I was all on board with trying to collect the Fused weapon set…

Yet, let that thought processes sink in for a moment. I wanted to collect the Fused set.

A month and a lot of money wasted without even one skin, and I have blocked the mere existence of black lion weapon skins from my memory. Fractal skins soon followed this.

I just accepted that Anet, and gw2, is never going to cater to that type of thought process. They “try” with things like the minis, which you can only use one of anyway. They even brought in these new “Collections” but locked every single one of them behind one single, nearly impossible, or just kitten expensive, item. They are not collections at all, they are just reasons to get the one linchpin item and a bunch of other random stuff.

I would assume that people that keep doing it might end up in trouble, since it is rather clear that ArenaNet does not like what is going on, and it is outright stated in the ToS that it is not allowed.

The relevant part:

While participating in Plaver-vs-Player (PvP) gameplay, you will not participate in any form of match manipulation. Match manipulation is defined as any action taken to fix or manipulate the outcome of a match or alter or manipulate the rankings or ratings of the ladder. This also includes disrupting other people’s game experience by not actively participating in matches in good faith, a.k.a leeching.

Hate to tell you this, but that doesn’t really apply. OS is a separate map removed from wvw “matches” for a reason. It would be pretty low of them to start issuing bans on that account.

Farming an exploit has been banned in the past, but farming in general is pretty heavily encouraged and has been since launch. It’s hard to call this any more of an “exploit” than the current zerg-farming-meta of EotM.

The current meta design pretty much enforces and encourages this kind of behavior in many many ways. Nothing has been done to change that, and systems which players abuse and farm only get brought back in even more valuable states.
From Labrynth farming to the Queens Gauntlet and Champ trains which were made to counter Fail Farming CS. All the way up to EotM and the Silverwastes now, where content is practically designed to cater to this type of gameplay.

I would be shocked if there is anything done about the players involved. Some mechanics changes, and some kind of deathmatch pvp will get introduced into the game in a few months to mimic it, and that’s about it.

EDIT: lol, right as I started typing this apparently.

PSA - new variant of game mail scam?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Monkey Fritz.9052

Monkey Fritz.9052

I got the same mail sent to me. Whats concerning to me is it was sent when I was offline. Hope I am not on some account hacker spam list.

I don’t know if it’s true but I’ve heard some gold sellers will go into a busy area (like the Heart of the Mists or a town) and take a screenshot of a whole load of player names, then target them gradually. Possibly out of the mistaken belief that this game works like GW1 where you could only report people who were still in the same map as you. Possibly so they have time to do things like find account names to make their mail “more authentic”.

Actually they do it so they can create a list ahead of time, and get off as much spam as possible before the account gets banned. Going in and targeting one player at a time, sending off spam that will be reported, is less efficient use of a limited resource.

They have to buy these accounts, so they are naturally going to try and get as much use out of them as they can. (Speaking of the obvious GHJKJHGLHG.90210 spam accounts, though it still holds for hacked accounts, they will want to get as much use as they can before they lose it.)

I think the current uptick is still fallout from that $10 sale a while back. The ‘smarter’ ones likely bought quite a few copies and gave themselves a surplus of accounts.

Corrrect… but only the people who bought gems with cash…. actually generated revenue.. just because you think your gem has value due to the inshore exchange… doesn’t actually generate MORE revenue, you’re just supplying your gems with a value.

You just countered yourself in the same paragraph, AND agreed with me.
That’s my WHOLE POINT, is that people using gold to gem conversion are not creating revenue. The people who pay CASH are.

How simple is this to figure out? Remove cash payments. Now where is anets revenue from the gem shop? there is none.

Just because you want to assign your gem’s a “cash value”, the fact stands they have no value until SOMEONE with CASH buys gems. Someone has to give anet that money, and its not the players converting gold to gems.

So saying people who user the conversion system are not generating revenue, is indeed a TRUE statement. You can value your gems at 10$, yes, but that is not new profits above the original sale. You did not give anet that profit, and you are not making them more money. You are merely holding 10$ WORTH of gems. Not generating 10$ profit.

Two COMPLETELY different things.

Um… wow.
So far off base. So if an oil company buys oil from audi arabia, is it worthless since it won’t be sold in the us again for 6 months? Or is the fact that I bought gas at the station a meaningless exchange since the oil was first purchased six months ago?

People who buy gems to trade them for gold, wouldn’t buy gems to trade them for gold if they could not do so.

It’s is utterly ridiculous to assume anet views in game purchases of gems as worthless or that they aren’t making a profit off of that. The final transaction may take place a few days or weeks after the initial cash purchase, but that in no way invalidates that the initial purchase only happened because the final purchase was going to happen.

That is such a convoluted copout because you personally believe that gold > gem conversion is “cheap.”

The economic reality is that gold > gem is ADDED value to the gem purchaser, and therefore more reason to buy gems. In fact, it is very likely the primary reason to purchase gems. It doesn’t take a very big leap to conclude that more gems are purchased to get gold than to get the handful of items on the gem shop, and that those items exist as a carrot for non-cash players specifically to promote the conversion which fuels the purchase of gems.

The one guy who decides to buy gems to get a legendary buys more gems than ten people who only buy a few infinite tools and transumutation charges, which makes the conversion of gold > gems intrinsically more profitable than a direct cash purchase of gem store items.

Far more purchaser’s are going to recognize the value of converting $10 of gems into gold than wasting away hours of their life grinding the same amount of gold. In fact, it’s flat out smarter in time = money scenario. And the only reason that $10 buys such a large amount of gold is because of gem > gold purchases for people who do grind out their infinite harvest tool purchases.

To even entertain the idea that any one gem spent is worth less than another because of the acquisition method, when all gems are created equally, is silly.

But not charging people certainly leads to less.

What an unlimited item does is reduce the potential income from players who currently do not have a problem spending gems on bulk charge purchases.

Let say that your 2000 gem unlimited charges which is around the same cost as 80 or so charges. It would only be a good deal if you burn through more than 80 bought charges in the life of your account. It would certainly be snapped up by the players who can drop $50, $100 or more a year on gems. That’s the future income you are losing with your $20 item because once a player buys gem shop armor, outfit, slots, etc. Items with no or minimal repeat sales, what’s left are items like keys, charges, boosts, and if you use a lot of keys, you would have boosts up the wazoo so lets remove them from the repeat sale list. And with the uproar over keys being a bad deal if you only care about ticket skins that leave transmutation charges as the repeat sale item.

none of this matters if everyone everyone is buying charges with gems converted from in game gold… thats the piece you are ignoring that people have said too… if they;re using the conversions system, anet makes 0 profit, so any change is better than nothing.

Lets also keep in mind the tons of players who say they DONT pay for gems at ALL, and would still pay for the stone, despite not needed any charges, just for the ease of mind. Theres multiple points that you ignored that have been brought up to counter your arguments

there’s also the 3rd point that so many people have the free charges and don’t use them, because they never run out, or they’re scared to use them all, and don’t even buy them regardless. There’s also the crown who just used gold to buy gems, to buy charges, which still nets anet 0 revenue

What?

If I buy 800 gems with gold, I am buying them from a Player who bought them with Cash. Anet still made $10. Period.
Buying Gems with gold is not manufacturing gems out of thin air “depriving” anet of profit. That would be idiotic and there would be no gem to gold conversion if that was the case.

Every. Single. Gem. in the game is from a cash purchase, period. Every single one.
It doesn’t matter if I fork out my credit card, or farm for a few days and convert the gold, SOMEONE bought those gems and Anet makes money.

2000 gems is already $25 dollars…. and you think that isn’t expensive enough…. You are the reason pay to win games with $60 mounts exist.

Yes. Because paying a subscription every month is a much better revenue stream. Not.

I will no longer play subscription based games. However, I have no problem dropping $200-$500 on micro transactions in games such as this. Its much more rewarding than paying a sub and having everything everybody else has. :P

The thing all the whiners missed about my post was that I specifically referenced $60 mounts.
>>>>> This game doesn’t have mounts. <<<<<

I don’t think there is anything wrong with this game’s gem store. What is the most expensive single item on the shop, that is not a bundle? The infinite tools, at a flat 1000 gems. Which are, infinite use convenience items. They already push the edge of the freemium model by costing more than $10.

Yet, people in this thread are actually calling for, specifically asking for, this item to be added at a price range between $30 and $60. It just seems insane to me that they would actually want to turn GW2 into a Perfect World cash grab…

There is nothing wrong with the devs making money, there is nothing wrong having these convenience items. But if they added something like this to the store for the cost of an expansion there would be.

that stone would have to be like.. at least 10.000 gems for being infinite use….
(probably more)

2k gems … anet would never do that xD

but i would love to have one…

and had no problem with paying that much because
it is definitly worth it for anyone who has a sense of fashion and more than 1 character….
and for people who dont just buy outfits but create nice mix and match looks instead…

2000 gems is already $25 dollars…. and you think that isn’t expensive enough…. You are the reason pay to win games with $60 mounts exist.

My guess it would be kind of like that permanent Hair Style contract where it will only be made available in the Black Lion chests and it will cost a lot of gold.

That’s the only way it would happen.

Now one consumable that lets you choose a single piece in your wardrobe and that piece becomes permanently free to apply…. maybe.

Traits Part 2

I don’t understand the new skill point system they are suggesting and ArenaNet’s motivation to change the existing system.

Here’s an excerpt from their announcement:

“characters that have reached level 80 will no longer gain skill points through leveling
Skill points will be added as rewards across high-level content to offset this change.”

So for those of us who decided to start playing this game again lately, who haven’t racked up hours upon hours of gameplay and haven’t accrued a large amount of unused skill points, will now have to go out to “high level” areas to get them and can’t play general content and other game modes such as WvW and PvP (tomes of knowledge) to level up and acquire more skill points.

My concern is for items that require skill points such as ascended gear and legendaries, under the new system, would require me to go to “high level” areas to acquire them. I have five level 80 characters that I’ve worked hard to level in the past couple months, and two of them have 100% map completion including WvW. All of them have gone through the story line. None of my characters have enough skill points for Bloodstone Shards for example. I play all my characters fairly evenly as well, I don’t focus on one particular character, so reading about this change has been very frustrating. Buying those items that require skill points would force me to focus on a single character instead of playing my whole account. I would have to play yet more PvE (which I’ve done more than enough of, repeatedly, five times in fact). Skill points aren’t account bound either.

The PvE story is great and all but I’m pretty tired of leveling new characters to 80 and I have no plans to make anymore, mainly due to the new trait system. At this point it’s a grind.

I’m lucky that I made 5 characters when the game first released to reserve my old character names from GW1, otherwise I’d have to spend even more skill points for traits under the new system. Thankfully I don’t have to deal with that on my old characters. On my new characters though…

I don’t understand how this new system would make things any better for me and others that might be in the same situation.

I think you misunderstand somethings. “High level content” does not mean high level areas, it means literally ANY content in the game when played on a level 80 character.

I may gain 3, maybe 5 skill points every few days with my level 80s via “leveling up.” But I get dozens of skill point scrolls, everywhere. From everything. That’s what they mean.

The 1 single skill point you “earn” every couple hours of gameplay is nothing compared to the 5-10 scrolls which dropped during that gameplay.

A handful of people have been freaking out about this change, but anyone who has started stacking skill point scrolls in their bank because they drop too often to even bother using them knows it won’t effect endgame acquisition of skill points in any way.

Why not the announcement of the HoT’s release date at the end of the World-3 SAB?
Maybe just some carved mysterious numbers/date on a dusty wall behind the last boss? -
—-> Old players will be happy as hell! -
—-> Everybody will talk of the HoT release date!! -
All around the web: GW2 ==> best-game-ever-HAPPY!!

I believe in you Anet! Let’s make everyone happy this 1st of April!

WhineyPlayerKitten.90210: “Why are you FORCING me not only to do content I hate, but to actually FINISH it, just to see the release date for the expansion??!?!?!?! kitten kitten puppy chick foal duckling!!!!! this content doesn’t even belong in gw2!!!!”

“All around the web: GW2 ==> best-game-ever-HAPPY!!” nothing they do will ever result in that.

They can release this at anytime it doesn’t have to be April 1st mainly because April 1st is a Wednesday NOT a patch day

The possibility of SAB returning is shrinking with every day because there wouldn’t be a point to interrupt the hype of the new expansion with an old event and the last few weeks will be all hands on deck for sure. Therefore I guess that it will be either in April or after HoT. After HoT would mean after Halloween and after Christmas. So it would be pretty much a year from now.

If this ends up being the case I am not getting the expansion and probably not coming back to the game for another year.

I’m not saying that as a kitteny threat, just the fact of the matter. I love gw2, but SAB was my favorite content in it. Every patch it is not available is disruptive to my enjoyment of the lesser content I have access to.

B – The Airship is overpriced garbage, and wouldn’t sell remotely well without putting hardcore pressure on people.

That too.
I can accomplish the same exact thing for free anytime I want via wvw borderland or heart of the mists. And always return exactly where I was.
Even teleporting to Rata Sum and back is 1/1000th the cost of having access to the airship or the terrace or the even more useless home portal stone.

Scarcity is the fundamental economic problem of having seemingly unlimited human wants in a world of limited resources.

It is more likely that you will borrow money from someone you know or take debt in bank in order to buy your product.

They think that their products are so good that you will do that.
Their economic advisor thinks that with scarcity they will earn tons of $$$$$

Scarcity is the reason why buying digital things is economically unsound. If they don’t manufacture scarcity, they risk their economic models collapsing.

The reality is probably far from it, but they can’t apply their real world economics to a digital game without manufacturing real world scenarios. And one day sales make them kittenloads of money.

Patience is out the window at this point. People have a right to be upset as customers. I’ve found plenty of other things to do, but that doesn’t take away the fact that this situation is bull crap. I mean it’s not like this is the first and only time they’ve pushed a patch out that broke the game. It doesn’t make people bad, bored, or pathetic to be upset about this situation. I mean we’ve not heard a thing in several days except second hand information. To the couple attacking everyone in the thread now for being upset, I know at least one of you was just as upset last week so give it a rest. If you don’t like what people have to say you aren’t required to comment on it telling them how they are wasting everyone’s time and are wrong. Speaking of, it’s obviously a waste of time for me coming back here since those very few toxic people have started attacking people. I love GW2, but this is unacceptable especially when you factor in the complete and usual lack of communication from Anet. Good luck guys I hope you get your game fixed.

Shut up and play. It’s fixed.

Keep being a fanboy kiddo.

Lol what does that even mean? A fan of the game? Yeah it’s ok. Keep being a kitten b-boy.

A “fanboy” is someone who blindly supports something (in this case a games company/game) and puts the blind defence of that thing above their fellow human beings’ opinions/feelings.

Typically, a “fanboy” will appear to receive people’s complaints about the thing in question as something akin to a personal attack and will respond accordingly.

You missed the point of his query completely. He was called a “fanboy” for telling the guy complaining about this issue that it has already been fixed. It makes no sense at all why he would trash mouth him. The issue was fixed, before the big rant about them not fixing the issue and threatening to leave the game because of it.

Continued World Boss Issues

7) Taidha should never have been included as a world boss. The event style just isn’t designed for that many players.

It is strange that they include her, while the Flame Shaman sits there completely unattended.

To the others talking about her once upon a time fun mechanics, as far as I know she hasn’t teleported since they made the timer changes. She never used to run out front like that at all. You attacked her in the base, then she teleported at specific health intervals. Since she had lots of adds, and was the only boss to even have a timer, it was challenging.

Getting her to spawn was messed up, you had to do the pre event chain three times in a row, without allowing them to fail, and then she would spawn.

There are still several other world bosses more deserving of being on the timer than ‘random pirate lady and her indestructible gate’ as it is now.

Flame Shaman for one.

Personally I really miss the world boss train before mega-server. They were actually fun encounters then.

For those that dont like Lions Arch

Good ole Evon

Following the destruction of Lion’s Arch, Captain Gnashblade fled to a refugee camp in the northern hills of Gendarran Fields. Under the orders of Captain Kiel, he was conscripted into the Lionguard under General Emergency Statute 14 and forced (along with all other Black Lion Trading Company merchants), to act as a deputy quartermaster for the Lionguard, upon pain of death. Since then, he has blackmailed Heal-o-Tron to act as his spy on the Captain’s Council.

“I thought the candidate who spent the most gold always wins. I was robbed!”

This is supposed to make Evon look bad? All I see is a vengeful political rival abusing extreme governmental powers to harass a civilian.

Your right. Nothing wrong with a little blackmail, vote buying or fleeing a warzone after first making sure all your money and goods gets out with you (and closing the door in the face of panicked civilians). Who could possibly find that distasteful?

Far better than rising to power based solely on claiming fame for the exploits of others (MY exploits) in southson, where “she” repressed the uprising of a forced labor camp. Should have left her to rot on that island and let Canach take her place.

They broke the framerate over a week ago, and now they fixed it. In fixing it I think they may have made it better, since the UI has always been a bottleneck.

[Suggestion] Toy Box Tab

Please please please tonics. I was never interested in mini pets before the tab. It was too much of a pain to keep them out. Now I have faithful companions on each toon and have bought a few from the TP.

I never use my tonics for the same reason. If I collect them fine, but I don’t go out of my way to do so. And I love the tonics! Love them! But I never seem to have what I want when I want it and meh – they are scattered in bags and banks and I couldn’t tell you where any specific one is.

Same here.
A “Toys” and a “Tonics” wardrobe, WITH at least one single method of activating a selected one without opening the hero panel. Either a hot key, or a toggled on screen “toybelt” or something.

As an actual new player I feel exactly the opposite. I am loving the game and thought the new player experience has generally been good and positive.

I think usually for a new player the system doesn’t seem that bad.

Because new players have barely any idea what traits are, or how useful/important they are to the build of their classes.

How can you miss it if you don’t even know what you are missing?

Or its like some of the defenders (though it may only be the same two people posting a loit in this thread) also make it pretty clear “you only need a few traits unlocked anyway” which means they are just copying a meta build off the net somewhere.

Like I said, new players just can’t miss what they don’t even know about. But I bet there would be a LOT of love if anet suddenly reverted the changes and the new players suddenly had access to the trait system in its entirety for the first time.
